Target Sales Slump After Pride Month Merchandise Backlash

Celebrate Pride Month but don’t be shocked when people, especially parents, don’t approve of merchandise aimed at small children.

Target sales plummeted during the second quarter after backlash towards its Pride Month merchandise, especially aimed at children:

Comparable sales slipped 5.4% while the $24.8 billion in total revenue was 4.9% lower than last year.

Negative reaction to Target’s Pride collection had a material impact on sales, Target CEO Brian Cornell said on a call with reporters.

“As we navigate an ever-changing operating and social environment, we are applying what we learned” he added.

Cornell said sales smoothed out when the stores moved the items to the back of the store. He also said Target will continue celebrating Pride Month and other heritage months.

That’s fine. Just don’t be stupid. I personally had the biggest problem with anything aimed at children.

The stores carried a few books for children 2-8: “Bye Bye, Binary,” “Pride 1, 2, 3,” and “I’m Not a Girl.”

A child thinking about sexuality at the ages of 2-8 is because of parents either talking or not talking to their children.

It all comes down to the parents. Always the parents. We also know the pride month celebrations by stores and retailers are fake and virtue signaling.

Target said it moved the merchandise to the back because of threats towards its workers. I believe the only big threat ever came from the left because Target moved the items.

Oh yeah! It was the left: Target stores reportedly received bomb threats for LGBTQ community betrayal

Aw! Thoughts and prayers! Have a bucket handy for all the pea soup!

Good.

“I believe the only big threat ever came from the left because Target moved the items.”

No matter what the lefty media claims, the vast majority of political violence arises from the left.

Awwwww! It would be a real shame for Target upper management folks to take some heat for this.

This isn’t as dramatic as Bud Light, but it should be. People who are terrified of the trans agenda should stop shopping at Target. Full stop.

I haven’t been there in (about) ten years or more, when they did their stupid bathroom thing. Were other conservatives still going?

Not I. I quit Target over the changing rooms thing at least a decade ago.

I never cared enough about Target to boycott them. For some reason, most of what they sell doesn’t appeal to me for completely apolitical reasons.

I went in once this summer because the wife put in some kind of order. We probably spend maybe 10 or 20 bucks there a year if that. In other words, they just aren’t high enough on my radar to boycott to handle either way. I’ll devote my avoidance energy to something more deserving.

That is what I did, stopped shopping at Target. I was in upper management, my sole concern was how to improve profit. Any business who tries to promote any political agenda is foolish.

We can all live without Target.

Why anyone would want to deliberately PO potential customers is beyond me. How about run your flipping store and leave politics and controversy elsewhere?

Doing anything else could be considered a breach of the directors fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. They should personally suffer the legal consequences.

National Lampoon in its specialist magazine cover issue (“Guns and Sandwiches”) had also Piddle: A Child’s First Sex Magazine.

Which is about all that children are interested in. Polymorphous Perverse, it was called.

The modern hassle is part soap opera, part what Jung called a partial archetype: the child is purely innocent so anything intruding is purely evil.

The social disrupters are trading on that. The hassle is what they want.

The interesting part is how all of the people who are objecting to the force-fed trans ideology are portrayed as “far-right conservatist extremists.” The reality is that those who are boycotting (or basically just choosing to shop elsewhere) are just normal middle-of-the-road Americans who are tired of the relentless onslaught. The Bud-light thing has way more to do about Frat-boys etc not anting their image assocaiated with the little Audrey Hepburn freakazoid, who was also chosen because it has a lot of “influence” over a whole slew of mentally challenged and underage drinkers.

The basic fact here is that these corps are deliberately playing with fire and are now suddenly bitching because they have all gotten burned. The solution would be for them to maybe step outside of their bubble for a few minutes a day and get a true pulse on their customer base. Unlike the left which apparently is incapable of seeing the obvious, the corps need to get it through their heads that the deplorables both vote and have a lot of disposable income. This was best summed up by an Oberlin student in 2016 who said “I don’t know how Trump won. I don’t know a single person who voted for him.”

I need to get with them to deal with a Consumer Cellular account, but I can’t get myself to go in their store.

Sounds to me like leverage just fell into your lap.
“Do you have any outlets that aren’t in Godless stores? Oh, dear!”

Are you telling me that a nationwide chain that sells pornographic books depicting oral sex between children and adults is somehow suffering a ‘backlash’?

The horror!

TBQH target just overstocked. Their pride shit was everywhere in the store and especially on end caps. Even if you weren’t offended but just weren’t interested, they lost lots of eye exposure for the casual browser of potentially interesting and marketable products to a broader base.

Target – “we’ll try to be a little less overt in pushing pedophilia during kweer month”.

Maybe the homeless zombies will just steal it.

I am visiting family in AZ. My daughter-in-law casually mentioned that June was boycott month for Target. She didn’t know anyone who shopped there in June. Target doesn’t want to lose her demographic – 30’s, with 4 children (youngest 18 mo), active in her church, her children’s school, her neighborhood and gym. She knows lots of moms and Target’s ad campaign was not well received by them. Fools.

Make enough customers shop somewhere else and eventually they won’t come back.

The many so called “PRIDE” days, weeks, months, events are nothing less than grooming. Presenting deviant behavior as “normal” things done by everyday people. This grooming, along with the advocacy of local, state, and national governments, libraries, small and large businesses are some groups in the name of inclusion.

Imagine the present and past CEOs of Kellogg’s, Target, K-Mart, Anheuser-Busch, Dick’s, Gillette, Levi’s, et cetera—sitting together around a large table, trying to figure out how their management destroyed the companies they worked for. (Conclusion: it was their customers’ fault.)
