Laura Ingraham to Trump: Voters want “a winner, not a whiner, …for the love of God, stop talking about 2020”

“I’m going to offer my free advice to both Trump and DeSantis — both will probably be unhappy”

The 2024 GOP presidential primaries are still six or more months away, but it’s never too early to look at the state of the current frontrunners’ campaigns and offer some advice, and Fox News’s Laura Ingraham did just that on her show Friday.

As she predicted neither former president Donald Trump’s nor Florida governor Ron DeSantis’ camp is thrilled with her advice, but it’s actually pretty sound advice for both candidates.

Watch:

Transcript via Fox News:

I’m going to offer my free advice to both Trump and DeSantis — both will probably be unhappy, but there you have it. As someone who’s covered seven previous presidential campaigns and worked for President Reagan, I think it’s time that both of you candidates remember a few things. First, to Gov. DeSantis. The voters in Ohio and Arizona, Pennsylvania — they don’t know you very well, but they don’t want to hear a litany of Florida accomplishments at this point, as great as they are.

They want to know that you’re going to be able to defeat Biden on the issue that is number one: the economy. So, talk about the economy. What are your specific solutions to protect American jobs and bring down the price of energy? Smile, also. Have fun out there. Don’t be afraid to show your personality and ask the people what’s on their minds. I promise you it will not be Disney or Bud Light, and as for President Trump, keep your eye on the prize: 270 electoral votes. Everything you say, everything you do, should be geared to winning in the states you need to win.

This should be a 50-state campaign for America. Attacking popular Republican governors or senators and battleground states is more than unwise. It’s self-destructive. Why do it? Voters in a general election want to vote for a winner, not a whiner. So please, for the love of God, stop talking about 2020. That will not bring a single voter out to support you who didn’t support you before. You need to grow the pot, not shrink it. Be magnanimous and be the elder statesman that Biden is not obviously capable of. That will reassure people, and look, your policies worked before, they’re going to work again. . . .

People from both camps are pretty ticked off, but I think she’s right on most (not all) of this. For example, it’s not always clear when DeSantis is reciting his very real and very impressive list of accomplishments in Florida how that relates to the people in these early primary states. His point is, I think, that he’s a solid conservative who gets things done, but Ingraham is right, voters need to know what he has planned for the country.

Her point about dismissing the culture wars, however, is likely not a good one. Americans across the political divides—notably suburban moms—are incensed by what is going on in schools and are fed up with the heavy-handed ideological agenda that has a death grip on our institutions (from the military to Hollywood to everywhere in between). This angst, anger, and dissatisfaction is very real, and it’s also very hard to see if you live in a DC-media bubble.

I find DeSantis very charming and charismatic, but then I’m not a fan of “big” personalities. They wear thin fast, and I can’t wait to escape them when I run across them in real life. But I can see her point about his needing to relax a little bit and to have fun, to smile more often and in response to people with whom he’s talking (not random smiles for the cameras).

I’d also add to Ingraham’s advice to focus on “Drill, baby, drill”—yes, it is a phrase associated with Sarah Palin, but Trump also used and still uses it to great effect—and to pound Biden on this rush to a green new world in which we all sit in the dark, millions dying of heat or cold because Team Biden has decided we don’t need those modern conveniences that keep us warm in the winter or cool in the summer. People want reliable, affordable energy at the flip of the switch. The vast majority really don’t care where it comes from, whether it’s “clean” or “green” or “dirty.” It just has to work. All the time. And be affordable.

Ingraham’s advice for Trump is also largely on point, particularly given the clear irregularities and actual coordinated campaign to “fortify” the 2020 election against him: Focus on the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win in 2024. Stop harping on 2020, and I’d add, make sure that the states he’s targeting are won in cheat-proof landslides.

Trump can’t achieve that with only his base, and they will turn out whether or not he spends the next six months tossing red meat at them. He needs to focus on determining who is still winnable (American voters have already decided what they think of him for the most part) and then work for their votes, not for votes he already has in the bag no matter what he says.

There are reports that Team Biden is focusing in on North Carolina, this is not good news for Trump who won the state by only 1.4 points in 2020. If Biden wins that state’s Electoral votes, there really is no path back to the White House for Trump. That is important, not riling up his already loyal, already riled up base.

Ingraham’s “winner not a whiner” statement is getting a lot of attention, but she’s right. The general election voters Trump needs but does not already have are not going to be swayed by—and are likely to be turned off by—his constant whining and perpetual victimhood.

His complaints do have merit, but that’s not the point. Winning elections is the point, and anyone who is going to be swayed by Trump’s constant whining, already has been or has factored that into their decision about whom to support in the primaries or, more importantly, the general.

She’s also right about Trump taking the role of elder statesman and serious leader of the Republican party. Undecided general election voters or those who can still be won over by Trump are not going to decide on him or be won over if all they see is constant drama, wildly inappropriate friendly fire on members of his own party, and the promise of four more years of instability and social unrest. Regardless of where that instability and unrest came from (and we all know), Americans who are not already committed to Trump don’t want more of it.

Ingraham is, rightly, focused on what these two candidates need to do to reboot their primary campaign (DeSantis) or to start broadening their base both in the GOP primary and in the general (Trump). And she’s not entirely wrong.

It really doesn’t matter if Trump wins the GOP primary if he can’t win the general, and right now, it does not look like he can. Likewise, it doesn’t matter how electable in a general election DeSantis is if he can’t win the GOP presidential primary, and right now, it does not look like he can.

Before the Ingram-dislikers dive in and reflexively reject what she is saying because she is Laura Ingram, consider she might be right.

    She’s not

She’s Mrs Hannity, with bigger lips, which after her last batch of Botox, she can’t close her mouth…hmm.. maybe that was on purpose for her side job

Laura Ingraham dated Keith Olbermann…. I repeat, Keith Olbermann…. for God sakes AND freaking George Conway!

    Her own brothers words

Laura’s estranged brother Curtis knows her well. He said this in an 2018 interview:

“I think she’s a monster,” the disapproving brother said repeatedly at the time, adding, “She’s very smart, she’s well spoken, but her emotional heart is just kind of dead. And you see it in her face when you see her on TV. She’s ready to destroy. She does not listen to understand — she listens to respond. And her response is always an attack.”

You can not make that sh!t up

Laura needs to understand, that the America First Patriots have no interest in supporting any of the Rino globalists.

She went to Dartmouth, and she was born in Connecticut. Those suggest at least part of her proclivities and her attitude.

I hope she chokes on her fatuous condescension.

Murdoch stench indeed, though she has mastered her own special brand of disgusting Faux high-mindedness.

The crybullies actually think we have forgotten and forgiven their constant verbal attacks on us since 2015. Never…..

Fox needs Trump, he and his supporters don’t need them…

(I have taken a few liberties from a few friends…)

You forgot to mention that her father is the Zodiac Killer.

Oops, that was a different vile lie indicative of a candidate unfit for office and of the character of his supporters.

I don’t know about her personal life, other than the adopted kids.. but I think a tv talking head needs to have a kind of cold heart, or they would go crazy.

I’d love to hear you elaborate on what her attending Dartmouth College has to do with anything.

Your lord and savior Trump went to Penn. Is that relevant to his point of view?

He isn’t MY Lord and Savior, but things were certainly better under him.
Yes, to people who follow him closely, he sounds whiny. To people who are just beginning to pay attention, to first time younger voters, sometimes things bear repeating.

NGAREADER in reply to gonzotx. | July 26, 2023 at 11:33 am

She’s spot on. Trump won the rural vote even in solid blue states. Look at the 2020 voting maps in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Nevada and even New York.
The only blue areas are the larger urban areas. He can’t win without them. He’s a easy winner in the primary but obviously that’s not enough.

She’s also right about DeSantis. Unless he’s just doing a dry run for 2028, he needs to raise his game to win primaries outside of Florida, and even there he has a challenge against Trump’s primary voters.

maxmillion in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | July 22, 2023 at 11:15 pm

As if we need dolts to tell us what and how to think. Maybe you do.

SC Reader in reply to maxmillion. | July 23, 2023 at 11:47 am

She wasn’t telling anyone how to think. She was offering unsolicited advice about how to connect with voters. Don’t make her statements into something they were not intended to be. I voted for Trump twice, but I am weary of his fanatic supporters and their refusal to see that he has to work to attract more voters. BTW, I don’t watch her show or any pundit’s show; I don’t watch television except for recorded episodes of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Watching those carries forward a family tradition begun by my mother (now deceased) decades ago.

inspectorudy in reply to SC Reader. | July 26, 2023 at 11:58 am

I actually agreed with you and thought that you made sense and then you went and put that crap in there about the Wheel of Fortune! Your IQ just went down 100 points. Jeopardy is a thinking game WoF is a joke.

I watch Laura,, and I don’t like everything she says, but she probably is right about this. She is also pretty candid about the prosecution of 45, but I think she has been gagged re the election.
Fuzzy picked this particular opinion to highlight,, it is what it is. I consider the source.

Generally speaking this was good advice for both Trump and DeSantis; give undecided voters reasons to vote for you by discussing policy proposals that matter to them and will motivate them to turn out. Everyone has a different button to push for motivation and focusing on one aspect to the exclusion or perceived exclusion of other aspects of policy proposals/issues won’t get a majority.

Mauiobserver | July 22, 2023 at 8:30 pm

I agree that nominee Trump or whoever else wins the nomination should focus on the plan for the 2024 agenda.

I think that a focus on economic growth by getting rid of harmful regulations and bureaucracy, sealing our southern border, eliminating woke ideology and leaders from our military, DOJ and intelligence leadership are popular with AVERAGE Americans of all parties. The candidate still needs to support voter ID, cleaning up the voter registration lists and no automatic mail out ballots.

The hard left as well as urban and suburban woke won’t vote for any GOP candidate. However, swing voters including a lot of Dems may not vote for more of the Biden agenda.

The McCain/Romney machine in Arizona won’t vote for Trump under any circumstances and the same is true for the GOPe in PA where party leaders formed a PAC to campaign against GOP candidates in 2020 because they represented a populist agenda.

Maybe some of those never Trump voters will just sit the election out. My preference would be for a 3 rd party candidate so that voters who simply want to vote against Trump or any populist candidate have another option other than the Democrats.

gonzotx in reply to Mauiobserver. | July 22, 2023 at 9:22 pm

    Clearly you want to lose

IT’s President Trump 2024 or we are done

    Sit on that one

    Surfs up!!!

What? Sit on it? Surf’s up? We don’t speak conservative nuthouse here at LI, care to interpret for us?

Mauiobserver in reply to gonzotx. | July 22, 2023 at 9:40 pm

I agree that it is highly unlikely that any GOP candidate other than Trump has a chance of winning. My point was to offer alternative so that the never Trump voters have an option other than voting for Biden. I do think that some of the voters who voted for Biden have probably had enough of this woke nonsense. Although they won’t vote for Trump they might just not vote. The best bet is for a 3rd party which gives liberal voters for both parties an alternative.

Trump will probably get the same turnout as 2020 and if Biden’s support craters with the help of a 3rd party then that makes the steal really hard for the Dems to pull off.

Depending on the third party candidate, this could backfire. Bigly. There are a LOT of Republican voters (and indies, centrists, et al.) who can’t pull the lever for Trump, won’t pull it for Democrat Biden, but would be happy to vote for someone they are more comfortable with. Manchin kind of killed his chances with disaffected Trump voters, but there’s Tulsi, still. She’d pull from Trump as well as from Biden. Biden would still win, of course, but she’d really shake things up.

” There are a LOT of Republican voters (and indies, centrists, et al.) who can’t pull the lever for Trump,…”

You know what? Let them pull the lever for their suicide. The hell with them – because this country is NOT going to last as 50 states, and the breakup is going to be swifter than anyone imagined.

So let these idiots not pull the lever for Trump. At lease we’ll know who to exclude form the new nation we go to after the Union disintegrates.

These people deserve every once of Democrat race hatred rammed down their throats like a bad trans sex movie.

What a truly insightful and substantive analysis from an “America First Patriot.” Let me guess, you always make sure to put that little “e” after “GOP” to really sock it to the “RINOs!”

ChrisPeters in reply to gonzotx. | July 25, 2023 at 11:09 am

Sorry, but we need a president who is more concerned about the country than he is about himself.

Obviously ANY candidate for the presidency is going to have a measure of self-interest, but DeSantis seems to know how precarious the country’s situation is. Trump is far too concerned with himself and the need to come back from the 2020 election (whether valid or fraudulent).

While Trump DID accomplish some good things during his term, he also made some terrible mistakes, especially regarding personnel choices (many RINO’s and Big Government appointments) and his management of COVID. Given his endorsement of numerous RINO’s since leaving office, it seems that a second Trump term would lead to more of such poor decisions.

GravityOpera in reply to Mauiobserver. | July 23, 2023 at 2:32 am

A candidate who isn’t hard left or soft left/populist? That would be a conservative and is what the GOP should be running instead of the attempt to repeat the 2020 failure by a certain faction of RINOs.

mailman in reply to GravityOpera. | July 23, 2023 at 5:17 am

These kinds of Republicans have always ran and been Presidents and they never did anything remotely conservative when they had a chance.

You keep running these kinds of people and you will always get the exact same results you’ve always har, more failure, faster, harder.

GravityOpera in reply to mailman. | July 23, 2023 at 5:47 pm

You seem to have confused conservative with soft left/populist. In the general election the GOP hasn’t put forth a serious conservative in decades.

I agree with your second paragraph. If we keep running these kind of people (soft left/populist) like Trump, McCain, etc. we’ll keep losing.

Trump never understood that the stability of the system is the important thing, not accuracy. Stability means that if you win by fraud not immediately detected, you won. Finality is the key to stability.

And Americans intuit that, which is how Trump winds up looking like a whiner.

Nixon conceded an election he won in 1960 for that reason – it’s better for the country. Gore lost the script in 2000, which was the outrage of the year.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to rhhardin. | July 22, 2023 at 9:09 pm

An untrustworthy system is certain to disintegrate, which is what is happening right now.

Most of our society is built on a certain level of implicit trust. It must be there or this system is toast. In case you haven’t noticed … most of America knows that we are living in a system not much different from the old Soviet Union, now – equipped with all-encompassing government propaganda, idiot commissars, brain-dead politicians (literally), and being force-fed the most intellectually offensive, mind-numbingly stupid ideas one could even imagine as “facts”.

Stability has nothing to do with anything in such a system. Stable in this nightmare?? LOL.

      Exactly

I get the feeling a few people here don’t understand exactly what’s going on and exactly what’s at stake…

That’s right, you, gonzo “surf’s up, sit on it” tx, are clearly the only person here who gets it. /all the eye rolls

gonzotx in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | July 22, 2023 at 9:28 pm

No there is still one or two, and you know who they are…

One or two . . . what? . . . eye rolls? Who are these mysterious eye rolls that I know? Because this sounds like utter nonsense to me. Unless you are plagiarizing other sites, you rarely make a lick of sense.

gonzotx in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | July 23, 2023 at 3:19 am

You got the eye roll/ sarc thing down really well

That must be a 90’s thing

Certainly a dumb old hippie like me couldn’t possibly understand

          Eye roll/sarc/state left

Okay, this made me laugh! Good one. 🙂

The lines are drawn here.. I think the Professor, and Fuzzy are on one side, some people who comment are on the other.. I haven’t figured out the split as it seems to shift a bit, depending on the article. But that happened back in 2016. I am glad there seems to be fewer ad hominem attacks now a days.

People on the Trump side of the line want something in addition to a booming economy, strong international diplomacy, respect, etc…We feel betrayed by just about our entire government, we want a kind of vengeance, and we want justice resurrected. How do you restore the faith of a nation?

I really don’t know, but that is the election.

That’s the election to you, but there just aren’t enough general election voters who feel that way; if there were, Trump would have won 2020 in a landslide that drowned out the Dem cheating.

At this point, Trump needs to grow his base. For that he needs a new approach because he’s losing voters, not gaining them.

GravityOpera in reply to gonzotx. | July 23, 2023 at 2:37 am

Plenty of us understand what is going on and recognized who Trump really is back in 2016.

Thad Jarvis in reply to gonzotx. | July 23, 2023 at 8:28 am

Thankfully we have articulate commentary like “sit on that” and slurs against coming from Connecticut to give us some real substantive insight.

This mentality is exactly the problem. Can you honestly say that the United States is in better shape under a fraudulent Biden administration? The rationale is absurd. It’s like a doctor deliberately lying to their patient about their condition because it might upset them or cause them to seek another doctor. The United States used to be a high Trust society, but perpetual propaganda and falsehoods from everything from Russian collusion to covid to covid gene therapy mislabeled “vaccines” to denials of prosecutions for Clear criminal offenses committed by Street terrorists and politicians has completely laid waste to any trust anyone in this country should have in any authority. All you’re asking us to do is absorb the lie, repeat it, and shut up for the betterment of the collective. What a coward you are. Despicable.

    This.

Personally, I have always believed the Romney won in 2012 (and that Sharon Angle won in Nevada in 2010), but he (and she) just sucked it up, buttercup because the stability of our government, its peaceful transfer of power, was more important. Plus, I wasn’t even a little motivated to fight for Smarmy McMittens.

Either way, though, 2020 is over. It’s not the first election Democrats have “stolen,” and based on Trump’s work on election integrity in the contested states (which has been zero unless you count going out of his way to tick off anyone who might conceivably help him *cough* Kemp *cough*), it will not be the last.

Geesh, they were dragging drunks out of the gutters in the 1800s to vote numerous times for a sip of bathtub gin. Cheating is in Democrats’ blood, and it is not anything new or suddenly worse because it happened to Trump (and I believe it did). But it IS done, over, there is no recourse, and most Americans are not interested in electing a “revenge” president. For obvious reasons.

gonzotx in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | July 22, 2023 at 9:25 pm

“Trump never understood that the stability of the system is the important thing, not accuracy. Stability means that if you win by fraud not immediately detected, you won. Finality is the key to stability.”

This is one of the stupidest things ever written.

‘If the /cheater/thief/criminal gets away with it for the right amount of time, it’s okay because stability is more important than justice’

Do you really think a world like that is workable?

It was NOT better that Nixon conceded.. ONLY a leftist, bent on the destruction of this country, could think so.

Those who sacrifice freedom, for a bit of temporary security, will get neither.

The ramifications of that crime are part of what is tearing this country apart–the leftists should have been caught, drawn and quartered publicly when they stole the election in 1960.

But that didn’t happen and look where we are now.

Trump was NOT supposed to win in 2016 –but they put the fix in the wrong place and he managed it.

They weren’t taking chances in 2020.

The ONLY chance we have in 2024 is a landslide of a Nixon or Reagan magnitude because make no mistake, the fix is already in.

Because the stupid valued stable lies over harsh reality.

Here is the operative question. How do you win the next election if you haven’t addressed how the stole the previous one?

Mauiobserver in reply to Ironclaw. | July 22, 2023 at 9:16 pm

I think the key is 2 fold.

First focus on the solutions such as voter ID, clean up voter rolls, no automatic mail in voting, strict limits on ballot collection including registration tally of ballots collected including name and authorization of voter including last four digits of SS number.. by making this plank a key part of the legislative agenda voters can focus on the fraud without having to debate the 2020 election.

The 2nd part would be a high profile congressional hearing on election integrity legislation. That would cause the 2020 fraud to be front and center but advocated by experts and journalists which would insulate Trump while supporting his primary position.

amwick in reply to Mauiobserver. | July 23, 2023 at 7:29 am

Laura Ingraham is generally okay … but there are many times when she is just insufferable. This is one of them.

There’s a reason why Laura never had great ratings. SHe has lived on the programs she’s been sandwiched between, for the most part. Her program is going to die at 7pm.

Stop talking about 2020 so they can do it all again in 2024 and then we can stop talking about 2024 so they can do it again in 2028.
Maybe in 2029 we cam get down to the Deep State vote fraud, if we are not all in a Gulag

Yeah, this GOPe “stop talking about 2020” bullsh-t is just that.

Stop Mitch McConnell & Elaine Chao’s corruption:
    https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/stop-mitch-mcconnell-elaine-chaos-corruption

Nine Republicans help save Pete Buttigieg from mandated jet log disclosures:
    https://nypost.com/2023/07/20/ten-republicans-help-save-buttigieg-from-mandated-jet-log-disclosures/

Fine, this isn’t about us or Trump supporters, it’s a serious, grown-up discussion about winning elections. Trump can’t win by continuing to whine about 2020. He needs to expand his base, not make it as roiling, venomous, and incoherent as possible.

You and many of the “but 2020” people seem to believe that you can change a single heart of mind with your shouting and shrieking. You can’t. Everyone has already made up their minds about 2020, and you have to live with that. Anyone not currently on the Trump train is not going to be swayed by the same whining they’ve heard for two years. You get that right? It’s important to you. It’s important to me. But it means nothing to the voters Trump HAS TO WIN to get back in the White House.

This really isn’t hard. Trump and his supporters are beating a dead horse, one that most Americans see as futile windmill-tilting. Doing it louder and prouder doesn’t help your cause. At all. When was the last time, you heard a particularly shrill Democrat freak yell something at you and thought, gee, you know, you’re right. I now support Biden until the day I die. Yeah, never.

This is not about Trump’s base; this is about him winning. Do you want him to? Because he is not currently on a path to do so. And never forget that a lot of us in the 74 million votes of 2020 are done with Trump. He’s losing support and not gaining it any other demo; that is what should be the focus, worry, and target of the Trump campaign. He HAS to expand his base, bring in demographics who are (frankly) turned off not just by Trump but by his unhinged followers.

        LOL, “eye roll”

Sorry, I am not done with Trump and I am not interested in DeSantis. Until the system is fixed, it really does not matter and I am not supporting anyone who is not fixing the system. That means whining about the 2020 and 2022 elections. Pretending it did not happen is a mistake. I have not listen to Laura in over two or more years. She is not an impressive talking head. I am still trying to find one that is actually good.

chrisboltssr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | July 23, 2023 at 12:06 am

Oh, stop. If Trump gets the nomination you’re either going to vote for him or not. And if you don’t it ain’t going to become because he is still obsessed with 2020. It’s because you hate the man and hatred is on you, not him.

Why do Trump supporters have to make everything black or white with Trump? Is it not possible to discuss him and what we may believe to be his weaknesses in the campaign? Does that mean that we are “Never Trumpers”? Why can’t he expand his base with groups outside his worshipers? Doesn’t that make sense? If he gets all 74 million he got in 2020 he can’t win this time either. Is that so hard to see? He needs more votes but isn’t going after them and for you MAGAs to criticize anyone who questions his tactics and call them RINOs or worse is just plain stupid. I haven’t heard one single person on this site say that they will never vote for Trump. I have heard MAGAs say they will never vote for anyone but Trump so which group are the traitors?

CommoChief in reply to Skip. | July 23, 2023 at 7:30 am

The ‘stop talking about 2020’ advice has some caveats. If Trump and his supporters/surrogates would modify their 2020 message using these basic points it would improve the message and it would be better received.

    1. Offer realistic solutions to the d/prog shenanigans of 2020
    2. Speak about how you have/Trump has worked to implement or support implementation of the solutions
    3. Don’t use the language of victim hood
    4. Don’t claim any voter owes Trump jack squat over 2020 shenanigans

Follow those basic precepts and the 2020 discussion about 2020 will resonate with a wider audience. Everyone knows shenanigans occurred in 2020 and Trump got the short end of the stick. It’s beating a dead horse unless solutions are offered.

What undecided voters want to hear when 2020 comes up is policy proposals to fix how those things occurred and importantly what has the candidate been doing since then to implement the fixes.

      3. Don’t use the language of victim hood
      4. Don’t claim any voter owes Trump jack squat over 2020 shenanigans”

      –is being done.

It is being ignored or categorized as ‘whining’ by people who don’t like Trump.

Fact is nothing hardly has been done about the fraud in 2020 and we are going to get it good and harder in 2024. Don’t be shocked when the Deep State installs another President

CommoChief in reply to Skip. | July 23, 2023 at 11:47 am

      Skip,

The way you frame this is the key distinction among most voters willing to consider voting against Biden and the d/prog. The framing you choose to employ ‘..nothing..has been done about the fraud in 2020’ presumes the possibility that anything can be done about what happened two +years ago.

The real truth is the d/prog shenanigans prior to the election solidified and precluded remedial action during and after the 2020 election. Once they got the mass absentee ballots mailed out the toothpaste was out of the tube. The d/prog had a better ground game and a better system built to get those ballots back in to be counted. Some of that (IMO the margin of victory) was due to use of ballots of ineligible registered voters.

In many States the legislature has passed restrictions on this crap since then. They are making it harder to cheat by reducing the number of ‘bad’ voter registration names. In other jurisdictions citizens and center/right lawfare groups have/are suing to force them to comply with voter registration list maintenance requirements.

Nothing anyone does will reverse the Joe Biden being inaugurated (note very clearly I do not say elected). There simply is NOT a mechanism to do so. Nor is there a mechanism to prevent counting ballots once they have been accepted as legitimate by the local elections officials.

The way to minimize (we can’t stop it entirely) the shenanigans is to work to clean up the voter registration lists. Force the removal of deceased, those who moved out of State, those who moved within the State but to a different County. Simultaneously we have to monitor for suspicious additions or changes to the voter registration rolls; several Swing States had curious mass changes just before and just after election day.

In sum we can and many have been working to make it harder for shenanigans in ’24. That’s the key distinction among most of us on the center/ right and Indy voters. Many of y’all are stuck on 2020 to the point you fail to work on fixing what we can before ’24. IMO, if those stuck on ’20 would start pushing their own precincts, County registrars and State Elections officials to remove ineligible voters from the registration lists while also backing efforts to strengthen ballot security/election integrity by demanding better monitoring and a zero tolerance enforcement y’all would be advancing the ball for the future v the perception that y’all are focused on the past.

inspectorudy in reply to Skip. | July 26, 2023 at 12:19 pm

That’s not accurate. Many states have changed the mail-in rules and drop box rules have also been changed. There is also an awareness that wasn’t there last time that will not be the same this time ie, more watchful people at the correct places and chain of custody issues will be much tighter. There will still be cheating but the percentage of total votes that are bogus will be less. This is why the Republican nominee must win in a landslide because they cannot create more votes than there are voters in every state.

Ingraham should not have called it whining. Because it isn’t. If you listen to Trump, he’s speaking about the future, which requires speaking about the past to put it in context.

And, as long as election interference continues to occur against Trump, and the wrongdoing is exposed as it relates to 2016 and 2020, to many people for the very FIRST time, it IS an issue for Trump. It shows the extent his enemies will go to cheat, especially when it concerns HIM.

Finally, he’s going to be under indictment because of 2020 election. It would be strange to avoid it.

The latest Harvard CAPS-Harris poll from a couple of days ago had Trump beating Biden by 5 and ahead with Independents by 18!

gonzotx in reply to chrisboltssr. | July 23, 2023 at 4:24 am

Well, we do have a post with multiple short videos and quotes on it from fox…

But in response to your question, not many, they have lost close to 1/2 of their viewership

But, Fox is just a drop in the empire of Murdoch, is what I’ve read

I guess the point, however, is that it is a major opportunity to present his views and can make or break peoples lives as a major media source and steer the Country politically.

    Or was a major, I should say….

I haven’t listened to any Fox disingenuous and disinformation since TC debacle . I did watch him infrequently, mostly just cuts from videos of interviews on blogs.

I really like listening to podcasts, like noagenda, Jordan Peterson and Mark Steyn . Few others, sometimes War Room, Charlie Kirk

I like reading Aceofspadeshq posts ,
Conservative but the Admin is pretty much for Ronnie, but he was a cruz guy amd reluctantly supported Trump, but he gets a lot of flak for it and always healthy conversation. Like here, has different posters with different perspectives commenters are hilarious and could bank writing comedy I have often thought. Smart group., Mostly think it heavy on the male side perspective and is very pro second Amendment.

Weirdly, on the w/e it goes dark on political stuff and has subject material like guns, books, movies, even a pet thread.I find it weird but it’s a way to take a break from 24/7 political craziness.

I use to like a site called, well it started out to support hillary I. 2007, and was called hillary is44 but turned into The Trumpet and then when the election got stolen, I think the Admin got spooked and closed shop without warnings.

One interesting caveat, when the hunt for the Boston marathon murders was going on I got ahold of a scanner and a video from someone in an apartment right above where all the action was with the brothers shooting it out at the University and the Admin and I were sharing stuff and talking all night, alone, it was so bizarre in real time, couldnt believe the young one got away, but anyway, it was interesting in how people minds changed and the in house fighting because there were still hillary supporters and dang if they didn’t say some of the same stuff I hear rehashed over Ronnie. Finally a large group that probably were knitting pu$$y hats left the blog, but there were crazy fights.

I was literally the first to say, she’s not the one and she’s a piece of crap and so is the Democratic Party. I was proud of that in the end.

Lol, yes, I supported Hillary, I will
Probably rot in hell for that, until my eyes got opened on 5/27/16 and made my way to being red pilled. . A process for sure. Actually Reagan and Ross Perot started my journey from liberal union supporter to Independent Trumper

I worked in Democratic campaigns starting at age 9 putting flyers on door jobs for city alderman’s.

    What a world…

      gonzotx,

Glad you eventually wised up to some of the d/prog grift and cons. More than happy to welcome you to the big tent of the political center/right where we don’t agree 100% on anything except one point; the d/prog advance must not only be stopped but rolled back. The who, want and the how to accomplish that mission are always up for discussion inside the big tent center/right as opposed to the leftists who have one approved orthodoxy and seek to punish and demean any who dissent even a little bit.

Everyone makes political decisions at their own pace and we should all be willing to extend some grace to those who haven’t yet come around to adopting a particular viewpoint. Just as we don’t seek to blame you for decades of supporting our political opposition and helping them traps the levers of power in our Nation.

I would urge you to extend the same grace to those who haven’t yet decided on a candidate for the ’24 GoP primary. IMO, using a bit more honey to persuade instead of more vinegar to demand will increase the rate of success in convincing folks of your viewpoints.

gonzotx in reply to CommoChief. | July 23, 2023 at 1:47 pm

This isn’t about Grace, it’s about survival

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | July 23, 2023 at 3:45 pm

Survival is dependent upon winning. Winning is dependent upon increasing the number of folks on ‘our side’ what willing to pull the lever for the GoP nominee to get us to 270 electoral votes.

Increasing the number of voters is dependent upon offering grace to those who, like you, were for decades fighting against us on the side of our opposition.

Offering a little grace to currently undecided GoP primary voters seems very little to ask in comparison. After all, most of these GoP primary votes have never voted for a d/prog for POTUS or Gov or Sen or HoR. Most of them didn’t provide assistance to build the d/prog machinery that now exists and must be defeated lest we don’t survive.

Since neither candidate can win, her advice is as good as any other’s.

With all due respect to Ingram..

What she needs to do in grill all the nominees about how they are going to handle the exact same crap the Federal and State Government attack them them with the exact same tactics.

FBI contractors are using the FISA 702 lookups on the top 5 front runners as we sit hear today. Spying on their political rivals. Hard to guess how many “Confidential Human Sources” are already imbedded in their campaigns.

Ingrahm needs to apply the history of the last 7 years, to todays events, and get the candidates to explain how they would do it smarter….because the squishes like Ingrahm are too ignorant believe the last 7 years was brought on by Trump himself, and not the DC uni-party.

christ almighty. I like the chaos trump causes but HE CAN’T WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION,,

inspectorudy | July 23, 2023 at 11:12 am

“Trump can’t achieve that with only his base, and they will turn out whether or not he spends the next six months tossing red meat at them. He needs to focus on determining who is still winnable (American voters have already decided what they think of him for the most part) and then work for their votes, not for votes he already has in the bag no matter what he says.”
This is what I have been saying from the start of his campaign. He is acting like a black person running for national office but only talking to and campaigning for other blacks. He already has their vote so go after the ones that he doesn’t have. And if RDS is such a loser then stop talking about him.

Laura needs to invite Stephen Miller back on to educate her on all the proactive policies Trump actually espouses and quite frequently. The fact she chooses to report only on the ‘whining’ and ignore the substance is on her and the rest of the media.

I don’t like the complaining personally, but I can accept the man walks and chews gum at the same time… and I love the hubris of offering advice to the frontrunner on what voters want to hear.

For the love of God, don’t listen to Laura Ingraham. If the GOP continues to think they can win national elections with conventional means like voting on election day, they will lose. That’s the new reality and ignoring it will not make it go away. Ballots win elections not votes.

Ok, what is Trump telling people to do? Is he working with the battleground GOP groups to correct the voter fraud in those states? No, Is he giving advice to the population about what they must do to help prevent voter fraud like when and how to vote? No. Is he setting up operatives in every state to create a ground game? No. Does he whine about voter fraud constantly? Yes. I agree that the election was stolen but he needs to confront the people and states involved with rallies and donations of money aimed at stopping the next election from being stolen. The best way is to win in a landslide.

…I voluntarily removed myself from the voting rolls.

So, don’t vote?
That’ll show ’em!

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | July 23, 2023 at 4:15 pm

WOW! Just wow!

Looking at these comments, I am not surprised that a Democrat will be elected president in 2024. But it won’t be because the Democrats cheated, stuffed ballots, had month long elections, closed vote counting until enough Pennsylvania votes could miraculously be found in a truck in a back alley in New York.

It’s because elections are a binary choice. It’s either Democrat or Republican. It’s never going to be an Independent, a third party candidate, the Green Party: just Democrat or Republican.

The problem? The Democrat Team wears the same jersey, and the root for the candidate who is running. The primaries can be brutal, HRC and Bernie voters can hate on each other, but in the end, EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT VOTED FOR BIDEN. Same for Obama, same for Clinton (the one with a dïck), Gore, etc.

Republicans wear the same jersey, but won’t support anyone but THEIR candidate. The factions are Trump, Never Trump, Trumpsters, DeSantis, DeSanctimonious, with a smattering of less than 1%ers.

None will vote for the other person’s candidate.

As an Independent, I have always worn the Republican Jersey and have voted Republican, even when I had to hold my nose to do so. McCain and Romney the most recent, but I swear to God if another Bush runs, I will become a Democrat. But I supported every single candidate because it was for the best of the country (specifically the Constitution).

But the Republican Party hierarchy also wears the same jersey. But like above, they would rather hate other republicans and collect their bribes from foreign nationals hell bent on destroying this country.

So go ahead. Keep hating on each other, refuse to require our elected Republicans to be a willing participant in supporting our goals, and otherwise ignore what’s happening.

You look great talking shit against each other.

Please shout this loud and everywhere.

    inspectorudy in reply to AF_Chief_Master_Sgt. | July 26, 2023 at 12:46 pm

I’m sorry to disagree with you sarge but you have oversimplified this. The Dems are not backing Biden and they hate having him as their candidate. Many will just not vote at all rather than vote for him. He won’t be the nominee BTW. Other than the MAGAs on this site, no one is saying they won’t vote for anyone BUT Trump. I prefer DeSantis but will certainly vote for Trump if he is the nominee. We are not the problem. Indies are now greater in number than either the Dems or the Rs. That is the group that will either not vote or vote for the other guy that we should be focusing on. For the life of me, I cannot understand why we fight among ourselves. We might prefer another candidate but let’s stop attacking each other and just debate issues that may help us win.

      AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to inspectorudy. | July 27, 2023 at 10:18 am

      Oversimplified?

There are significant commenters in this site who call ALL Trump voters “vile.”

I voted for Trump twice. So for that, I am vile but anyone who votes Democrat gets a pass?

And I disagree. There are plenty on this site who HATE Trump and his voters and will not vote for him. So please stop gaslighting me by telling me that an apple is a banana.

Am I vile because I want to look at all candidates and make a decision based on my measurement of their qualifications? Which, BTW, is strictly based on the Constitution?

Yet, Biden voters voted for him after he couldn’t get 6 people in a room, and ran a campaign from his basement.

I plan on voting for the Republican candidate, regardless of who it is, including Trump. But I am not following “my savior” Trump because he’s Trump. I will vote for him because he’s the candidate.

And I will suck it up and vote for Meghan McCain if she’s the candidate over Cameltoe Harris, because the choice is obvious (yet a long shot).

Yeah. That’s oversimplification because some people on this site can’t understand complex ideas.

Fucking Republicans couldn’t find their ass with two hands, a map, and a flashlight.

      Sheesh.

From the right side we’re told to just stop talking about the 2020 election as it will turn off voters.

From the left side we’re told to just stop talking about the 2020 election or you will be hunted down by the FBI and remain in jail for years pending trial for jeopardizing the integrity of elections.

Best not to say anything and accept what is as what is. Now that’s what America was founded on.

Anybody else think Laura Ingraham is starting to look like a younger Dolph Lundgren in drag?

Yes, indeed. Let’s take advice from a never-Trumper. Laura wants Trump to stop whining. What does she do other than to whine about Trump?

Trump won 2020. It happened on tv in front of everyone who stayed up after 10pm (Central) in plain sight. Anyone can see the numbers changed from Trump to Biden. The video cameras show election workers pulling fake ballots in suitcases (not what poll workers would actually use) from under tables. Whistleblowers have given sworn testimony to the fraudulent re-scanning of ballots. Security video shows the mules dropping off hundred of ballots. Some upper-respiratory illness was spread in large metropolitan areas, so mega-donors could add drop boxes to for the mules to fill up. Votes were submitted at rates higher than individuals could physically deposit ballots in a drop box. Some rules were changed after the primary by unauthorized “tyrants”; other rules were merely set aside. Votes were counted for days. More absentee votes were counted than ballots were sent out. Some places managed to tally fractions of votes (i.e. the vote count had decimals). The machines are just running the same “glitches” that the CIA would run in foreign elections to change regimes. How could the Democrats in Iowa have such a hard time counting the primary caucuses for the first time since 1847? “They” have been using these techniques on Americans since at least 1992 (even election year pandemics are a repeat thing). Consider where we could be without tricks, lies, and manipulation (gatestoneinstitute.org/19821/tech-companies-manipulating-elections). Paper ballots, real ID, one-day vote, same-day count. Nothing else.

We used to watch laura all the time-but if you want the GOP and conservatives to win as opposed to replay 2020, then DeSantis should be your choice-he knows how to win, deal with the woke mob and implement conservative policies as opposed to being all about himself and his legal battles

No Laura. Never forget 2020.

Laura Ingraham’s advice is wise for now, although we must never forget that the 2020 election was stolen. Unfortunately, in a primary against Trump, I don’t think DeSantis has a chance, no matter what he talks about. I suspect even Ramaswamy might beat DeSantis in many states.

It may seem like heresy to say it, but I think Republicans need to take a long hard look at RFK. At the very least, if your voter status isn’t already that way, go to your local board of canvassers and disaffiliate so that you can vote for him in your local primary. I’m not sure Biden will even stay in the race, but if he does, he must not stay President.

Vote for RFK in the primary. Then vote for whoever you want in the election. We have to make sure the Democrats chosen candidate does not win! And they fear RFK much more than they fear Trump.
