CDC Says Transgenders Can ‘Chestfeed,’ But Didn’t Mention Possible Health Risks to Babies

I thought the CDC encouraged us to follow the science?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAYdlpbVUNA

As if we needed another reason to never listen to the CDC. Follow the science, you guys.

The CDC made one of the most anti-science claims I’ve ever read under the “Health Equity Considerations” section of its website.

Under “Infant and Young Child Feeding Toolkit,” the CDC insists (emphasis mine):

Remember that:

  • Transgender and nonbinary-gendered individuals may give birth and breastfeed or feed at the chest (chestfeed). The gender identity or expression of transgender individuals is different from their sex at birth. The gender identity of nonbinary-gendered individuals does not fit neatly into either man or woman.
  • An individual does not need to have given birth to breastfeed or chestfeed.
  • Some families may have other preferred terminology for how they feed their babies, such as nursing, chestfeeding, or bodyfeeding.

Science: Only a biological female can give birth and breastfeed.

Oh, by the way, men have breasts. They have breast tissue behind the nipple, which is how men get breast cancer.

Then there’s the breastfeeding section. Fox News mentioned “chestfeeding” appeared in this section under the FAQ about breastfeeding after breast surgery.

I cannot even (emphasis theirs):

Can transgender parents who have had breast surgery breastfeed or chestfeed their infants?

Yes. Some transgender parents who have had breast/top surgery may wish to breastfeed, or chestfeed (a term used by some transgender and non-binary parents), their infants. Healthcare providers working with these families should be familiar with medical, emotional, and social aspects of gender transitions to provide optimal family-centered care and meet the nutritional needs of the infant. These families may need help with the following:

  • Maximizing milk production
  • Supplementing with pasteurized donor human milk or formula
  • Medication to induce lactation or avoiding medications that inhibit lactation
  • Suppressing lactation (for those choosing not to breastfeed or chestfeed)
  • Finding appropriate lactation management support, peer support, and/or emotional support

Learn more about how to support transgender persons.

The CDC failed to mention possible health risks passed to babies through the milk from Domperidone, an anti-nausea drug that also increases milk production.

The FDA warned breastfeeding women not to take Domperidone to encourage milk production:

The agency is concerned with the potential public health risks associated with domperidone. There have been several published reports and case studies of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, and sudden death in patients receiving an intravenous form of domperidone that has been withdrawn from marketing in a number of countries. In several countries where the oral form of domperidone continues to be marketed, labels for the product contain specific warnings against use of domperidone by breastfeeding women and note that the drug is excreted in breast milk that could expose a breastfeeding infant to unknown risks. Because of the possibility of serious adverse effects, FDA recommends that breastfeeding women not use domperidone to increase milk production.

The FDA recognizes the immense health benefits that breast milk provides for a nursing infant and is taking these actions today not to discourage women from breastfeeding but rather to warn them not to use this particular drug while they are breastfeeding.

For the love of everything holy. Everything you ingest during pregnancy and breastfeeding can pass to your baby. That’s why you do not drink or smoke. You cannot eat tuna, cold deli meats, raw fish, or unpasteurized cheeses. You have to avoid caffeine. You cannot take certain medications.

I know when breastfeeding, you should avoid broccoli because it can make the baby gassy.

They are all insane and should be shunned

If by shunned you mean terminate their budget, then yes

And driven not only from professional positions but driven from society …unless and until they confess, repent then perform sufficient contrition.

The folks pushing ‘The Science’ are.growing more unscientific each day. The public health and medical community will not regain any level of lost public trust by taking up ideological talking points instead of reality.

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | July 6, 2023 at 1:18 pm

        Quant Suff!

Actually, the CDC wanted to follow the science, but they just couldn’t get Mayor Pete to leave the lobby until they agreed to this.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to gonzotx. | July 6, 2023 at 1:45 pm

I bet Trans would actively promote their children to be Trans, after all they are trying to do that with everyone else’s children.

Sorry to break it to the group(s) behind this, but we see right through the bs and recognize abberant behavior regardless of the perpetrator.

The CDC engaged in censorship… I wouldn’t trust them if they said water is wet.

Men who wish to breastfeed their “babies” are sickos. I feel so bad for the kids.

Communist
Disinformation
Committee

The Science™ is whatever they say it is, silly.

The CDC also is not Constitutional

What DISEASE is involved in this political pronouncement from the CDC?
Or is it like them declaring ‘gun violence’ a national health epidemic?

The last thing we need is another political propaganda agency masquerading as an impartial and scientific public health organization.

CDC is yet another federal agency that needs to permanently bite the dust.

This is sick, demented, corrosive and evil propaganda. Women continue to be degraded, mocked, diminished and erased by the obnoxiously and brazenly misogynistic “trans” ideology, and, its vile enablers and cheerleaders in the Dumb-o-crat Party.

The “trans” phenomenon presents a basic test for whether people choose to believe in science and reason, or, political propaganda and contrived lies.

When I “chestfeed”, it consists of eating the chips I dropped on my chest while laying on the sofa watching the game. Mmm… chest chips…

Thats why you always put a calf in with just the bull.(sarc) These people think you too stupid to know anything.

Leftists support doing the following to children.

1. Killing them in the womb from conception to 9 months.
2. Poisoning them with meds so a mentally ill man can “chest feed” (WTF).
3. Pumping them full of hormones and drugs like Lupron which have horrible side effects.
4. Mutilating their healthy reproductive organs.

Pure evil.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Paddy M. | July 6, 2023 at 12:21 pm

Just ask your resident grizzly about Lupron and mine was for an intended purpose, not vanity.

I would like to know about Lupron, Mr Grizzly, including your current condition, side effects and prospects for the future.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Peabody. | July 6, 2023 at 5:42 pm

Lupron was to deprive prostate cancer a source of nutrients. I was on it for two years. This was in addition to daily radiation with weekends off. 44 of them. It has been 4 1/2 years since my last Lupron injection. Things “downstairs“ don’t work at all well, if at all. At least some of the hair that I lost has come back. I didn’t lose all of it, but I did lose some. No, I’m fighting some sort of the nerve condition that has been on anti-seizure medication‘s to reduce the awfulness of an itch. I have all over my torso. The results of that is I’m so fatigued. I’m barely out of bed anymore. Aside from that, I’m doing just fine.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | July 6, 2023 at 5:43 pm

I shouldn’t have said that the Lupron was to deprive the cancer cells of testosterone. I essentially had none for two years. Before Lupron and other such things were invented, men were castrated to cut off the source of testosterone. Needless to say, they could not put them back. So from that standpoint account myself lucky.

Thanks for taking the time to give an update. You know I care about you.

Rupert Smedley Hepplewhite | July 6, 2023 at 10:22 am

Geeze, trans people need a lot of “support” from binary people.

If proof was ever needed that transgenderism is a mental illness here it is. In any other circumstance if an adults ego and delusions had even the slightest chance of causing lasting harm to their child serious investigation and possible legal action would occur. But not for this. The pride-tribe must be mollified and play pretend indulged. No matter the cost.

henrybowman in reply to JRaeL. | July 6, 2023 at 1:27 pm

The scarier proof here is that the government has closed ranks behind this mental illness and given it more official sanction than they give actual constitutional rights.

These same people are scared to death of BPA plastics and pesticides of all kinds. They worry about tiny trace amounts while they will inject giant amounts of pseudo-hormones and hormones into their bodies to created functions and characteristics that are not natural and then feed a baby with the result.

But you’re the crazy one.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to Martin. | July 6, 2023 at 2:06 pm

What they want to do to children is abuse, a child should be removed, and if they have used the child like a lab rat, maybe capital punishment should be on the table.

Yeah, sorry. You no hava da boobs, you no breastfeet the children.

And pigs can fly

Defund the CDC and charge the current decision-makers with professional malfeasance.

“I’ve got nipples Greg, can you milk me?”

-Robert Deniro in Meet the Parents.

“Chest-feeding?” I thought that infants couldn’t eat solid food.

But I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ no babies, so …

The article is hard to understand. They don’t tell you whether they’re talking about men or women.

It almost always matters which you are.

I met a woman once who asked me if I’d be interesting in going to her house and trying to move her 42″ chest. Turns out it was 84″ tall and built from solid mahogany, not veneer. She was not impressed by my grunts and sweating and I couldn’t move the dang thing an inch.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | July 6, 2023 at 1:27 pm

or chestfeed (a term used by some transgender and non-binary parents)

What is their issue with “breastfeed”?? Every chest has breasts … that’s sort of what makes it a chest. Otherwise, it would be a stomach.

These lunatics really need to be put away.

In a search for meaning, “Chest feeding” may be what is expressed by “chest beating” or “chest thumping” (at least until they modify the dictionary:)

-to make a public display of one’s emotions. Sometimes used to indicate that one is exaggerating or being disingenuous.

-To make an ostentatious display of one’s dominance, superiority, and pride.

-conduct or expression marked by pompous or arrogant self-assertion.

The left is going to run on abortion and affirative action this coming election. The GOP can fight back with the data that shows the Dems are working overtime to remove the word “Woman” from our language and to strip every biological faculty from them. If the Dems have their way men will soon be able to have abortions and women will have to wear cups when they play sports.

Subotai Bahadur | July 6, 2023 at 6:32 pm

This is the CDC under a Leftist regime. The lives of infants and children are as nothing when compared to pushing the Narrative.

No the CDC wants you to follow the “Approved” Science.

When I was breastfeeding my son, I had just discovered the use of fresh garlic to season food, and I’m afraid I overdid.
He had agonizing cramps and gas for weeks, until I figured out what was causing it. I felt like a monster for having been the reason for his suffering.
