Victim of Vicious Anti-Semitic NYC Attack Furious At “Slap on the Wrist” For Attacker

In 2021, a man named Waseem Awawdeh was part of a gang that attacked and violently beat a Jewish man in New York City named Joseph Borgen.
Awawdeh was released on only $10,000 bail and was treated like a hero by members of the Palestinian community, even vowing that he would do it again.
The punk that beat a random Jewish man unconscious on a NYC city street, was released after posting bail.

The prosecution took forever, but now Awawdeh has accepted a plea deal. He got a measly 18 months.

Speaking in Manhattan Supreme Court on June 13, Joseph Borgen expressed disappointment at the sentencing of his antisemitic attacker, Waseem Awawdeh, who was sentenced to 18 months, saying he got off with a “slap on the wrist.”
“What kind of message does this send to everybody, to all victims of hate crime?” said Borgen, 31, in a seven-minute victim impact statement. “I really can’t fathom why he’s getting a deal. … I wanted to go to trial. I wanted to see full justice.”
Awawdeh, 24, struck Borgen four times with a crutch as part of a group attack in New York City in May 2021. Borgen heard someone say, “You dirty Jew, [expletive] Israel, go back to your country.”
Awawdeh’s plea agreement with the office of District Attorney Alvin Bragg avoids a trial and potentially harsher sentence.
Ari Kagan, a New York City Council member, called the deal “despicable, shameful and outrageous.” He added that “Joe Borgen was viciously attacked simply for being Jewish. Eighteen months in jail for this hate crime is not justice.”
The Combat Antisemitism Movement said it is “unfathomable” that Awawdeh “was given a plea deal. When the perpetrator states a remorseless willingness to commit the crime again, justice is not served.”
Alvin Bragg is such a disgrace.

I hope Borgen does not vote democrat. That would be unfathomable.
If he does, then any other encounters like this would be entirely his fault.
If you disagree with the treatment you’re getting, by the love of God, STOP VOTING FOR THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
Some folks are slow learners but when faced with a climate that routinely produces examples like this episode I suspect more people will be learning.
Nah, people won’t learn. They never learn. Most have the, “It’ll never happen to me.” attitude right up to the point it actually happens to them. And then they’ll still line up like good liberal democrat sheeple to vote for the very ones that enabled the thugs to beat the living tar out of them in the first place. That all seems to have started when the little, or the “delicate” kid finally fought back against being stuffed in a locker.
The candy-assed principal took the position that fighting back was somehow just as bad – or worse – than the bullying.
That was my experience, about 4 years of being bullied, Principal told my parents a that boys will be boys and I had to take my lumps. That made an impression, then I kicked the living crap out of him, put him in the hospital. No more problems after that.
It’s the City, suck it up and be glad he is alive. It’s restorative justice!
