U. Cincinnati Student Claims Professor Failed Her Project for Using ‘Biological Women’

University of Cincinnati sophomore Olivia Krolczyk, 20, accused her Women’s Gender Studies in Pop Culture professor gave her a zero on a project because she used the term “biological women.”
“I got a 0 on a project proposal in my class because I use the term biological women, which is apparently not allowed anymore,” Krolczyk said in her TikTok video. “She even said it was a good project proposal. Um, but I got a 0 because I use this term as exclusionary and that’s not allowed anymore.”
The project was about transgender women in sports.
“And I 100% know that this is, like, the most biased grade ever, because my project is about transgenders competing in biological women’s sports,” she continued. “How am I supposed to do my final project if I can’t use the word biological women? But that’s what my project is about.”

Krolcyzk, who participated in track and cross-country in high school and part of college, told The New York Post the class had “very few assignments,” and 200 points are the total amount for the class. The final project is 100:
The undergrad — who competed in cross-country and track throughout high school and the beginning of her college career before transferring to the University of Cincinnati — said she followed the professor’s instructions to a tee, including using three sources from the class and formatting the paper to the teacher’s requirements.
“The directions for the assignment in which I received a zero on specifically state, ‘This exercise is developmental. Thoughtful proposals submitted on time will receive full credit.’ I turned in my assignment on time and I can guarantee 100% that my proposal was extremely thoughtful,” she insisted.
Krolczyk also said she had contacted the university’s Gender Equality office, which told her it would have a different professor review and grade her work — but she has yet to see her grade change nearly two weeks later.
The professor and Krolczyk butted heads during the semester:
Krolczyk said she was rebuked when she pushed back during a class discussion and argued that generalizing all white men as having privilege is “not fair.”
“She commented that something along the lines of it being necessary and important to recognize privilege and oppression. I was docked on my grade,” the student alleged.
It sounds like we might have another Riley Gaines on our hands. Krolczyk thinks “the issue is not being taken seriously” by the University of Cincinnati: “Standing up for free speech in education is more important. If we as a student body take action instead of conforming to the professor’s ideology, we can hopefully start changing our universities back to a place where stating simple biology isn’t punished and conflicting opinions are encouraged.”
It doesn’t shock me that people have spoken to Krolczyk about the same situations happening on their campuses. We’ve been documenting the war on free speech for years.

Having examined the evidence, I deduce she’s in the wrong class at the wrong university.
She has as much chance of getting a good grade at that school as Pence does getting elected President of the United States.

I think the proper term is Natal Female; with the trans being Synthetic Females. I don’t think “biological” is doing sufficient scientific work here.
I like the term. However, the teacher seems so saturated in alphabet Kool-aid that any rational thought is forbidden.
These radicals are like “Chatty Cathy’s”, pull the string on their back and you get a scripted phrase, no cognition required.
Unless this gender studies class is a required course for a non-gender studies major, then I don’t feel that much sympathy for her. Lie down with dogs, then don’t complain when you get up with fleas.
It was probably from a list of courses for a requirement in general education (many schools have woke clusters for this now) and for all you know she took the course to challenge the dogmatic views of the professor.

There only two conceivable reasons for taking this course. Either she thought it would be an easy A, or she’s too stupid to know that these kinds of courses are politics thinly disguised as academic subjects.
Either way. she should both sue, and accept that she deserved the grade.
Or she took it in the belief she would grow as a person through studying interesting topics 🙄🙄
She should have confused the professor by calling them women of biology. Eliminating an adjective and back ending with a preposition and noun makes for a sacred, protected class.

I feel you on the valspeak, but that is a transcript of 90% of genZ members: male or female these days. I’m around them all of the time, and I die a little inside around all but 10% of them.
What is the professor’s name? Why is it being redacted both here and in the NY Post?
We didn’t redact it; Mary’s piece is based on the Post article. However, if you are really curious, the course was Women’s Gender Studies in Pop Culture, according to the post. Such classes are usually listed on the university website along with the professors who teach them. The term/semester is likely listed, as is the course on faculty cv’s (if included at the site and recently updated). It is highly unlikely that more than one such course runs per semester (even per year) or that it is taught by a TA. It shouldn’t be hard to find out, in other words.

School records indicate that it has been taught by two different people in different years, both adjuncts. Because registration is over for this academic year, it is not obvious which of the two taught the class this past year.

This same issue has arisen in debates where unbeknownst to the debaters, certain words are not allowed by the moderators. This class assignment is of the same order in that no list of unapproved words or phrases was made available to the class before the assignment. This should be reversed in the student’s favor. BTW, the subject matter of this course is one of the reasons many graduates today can’t get meaningful jobs.
Of course there’s no list of unapproved words or phrases. If there were, its length and the silliness of some of the prohibitions would open the professor to well-deserved ridicule.
You can’t compile and retain a list of unapproved words and phrases because the moral black-hole radiation always kills the keeper.

First the radicals in charge demand everyone bend the knee to the absurd notion that a male is female by simply stating his subjective belief, or as they put this Big Lie in their official dogma, “A trans woman is a women.” Then professors are not allowed to say “biological woman” simply to clarify a study only pertains to a subset of the larger group “Official State Women.” If this isn’t Soviet Science, what is?
Well, at least the “professor” didn’t try to hide the fact that she was deliberately violating the First Amendment. This is a pubic (not private) University after all. That admission should speed the investigation along.

I disagreed with most of the material and took this class only to fulfill a credit requirement. The class overall isn’t awful, as long as you do the required work. If you make it look like you agree with the material, even if you don’t, you will easily get an A.
For people who asked why anyone would take a class like this, it’s simple. They are REQUIRED GE classes. The effect of these courses was being discussed years ago by Dr, Christina Hoff Sommers who talked about how women were being traumatized by them,
