The L.A. Dodgers carried through with their plan to honor the ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’ with a ‘Community Hero Award’ this weekend.

In response, thousands of Catholics and others showed up to protest the event, mostly through prayer. Critics say the group mocks the Catholic faith, and it’s impossible to disagree when you see these men in clownish nun costumes.

The New York Post reports:

Thousands of protesters descend upon Dodger Stadium, take over entire block as team honors ‘drag nun’ group

Thousands of demonstrators descended upon Dodgers Stadium Friday evening to protest the team’s Pride Night ceremony honoring a controversial group of queer and trans nuns.

Organized by the group Catholics for Catholics, the massive crowd jammed up the main entrance of the ballpark ahead of the scheduled pre-game ceremony celebrating the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, according to reports.

The mass of protesters, some holding signs like “Bud Light the Dodgers” and “Stop Anti Catholic Hate,” took over the entire block on Vin Scully Avenue and chanted “Save our Children.”

The local chapter of the Sisters, whose members dress up in drag in traditional Catholic nun habits, are being presented with the Dodgers’ Community Hero Award for their “lifesaving work” for the teams’ 10th annual Pride Night.

Critics have blasted the group as a “blatantly perverted, sexual, and disgusting anti-Catholic hate group.”

Here’s a local video report. The reporters seem genuinely surprised by the size of the crowd.

More views of the massive crowd here:

When the group was given their award, the stadium was mostly empty.

People on the right are cheering the protest.

It feels like something has shifted. Many people have become more aware and involved.

FOX News reported:

Videos showing vast numbers of Protestants and Catholics protesting an L.A. Dodgers baseball game that included a presentation honoring an activist LGTBTQ group drew massive support from many on social media Friday.

Conservative lawmakers, commentators and influencers praised the demonstrators on Twitter for taking a stand against the perceived anti-Christian display that was taking place at the nearby Dodger Stadium.

Prominent users claimed the demonstration was “one of the “best things I’ve seen happen this year” and proof that “the world is over the woke agenda.”

Many people have just reached their limit on this issue.

Again the left was shocked by the turnout. They still don’t understand we are no lockstep behind them.

Where is Jose Gomez, the Archbishop of Los Angeles? He presides over the largest group of Catholics in America. Media didn’t bother to enquire about the Archbishop’s thoughts on the matter. Not doing so kinda begs the question – why the sudden disinterest? Anti-religion journalists love to smear religious authorities.

Hispanics do enjoy their Catholic Heritage and Baseball. Dodgers management know it to be true. Same with Gomez. Gomez thinks quiet contemplation will suffice. Dodgers decided to poke Catholics in the eye.

Grandma Hispanic still wield power in their extended families. LBGTBBQ make Grandma angry. Gomez will hear about it direct. The Pope best tread carefully since this trans-marxist movement transcends his usual leftist-friendly politicking. He stands at the Walpergian Abyss.

Gomez is caught between The Rock (grandma) and a Hard Place (Hollywood $$$).

Hopefully, it’s more than reaching their limit, but in coming to see they were lied to about one thing after another in furtherance of perverted rights.

That is very much a first step, key though it may be.

We need to have a lot of empty seats in the stadium visible on TV during Dodger games.

And every bond issue giveaway benefiting the Dodgers has to be voted down; albeit this is California where the votes are counted before election day.

“FOX News reported: ‘…the perceived anti-Christian display …'”

If, as it says above, the group “mocks Christ,” then it’s more than “perceived,” ya think?

I’m not going to watch them to find out.

So much editorializing in what should be straightforward news. Biases loud and clear. “So-and-so who falsely said XYZ” — even though XYZ is patently true, The Narrative needs XYZ to be false so it is snuck in, as if we’re too dumb to notice. Sad to say, a lot of news consumers are indeed probably fooled. Wake up, America!

How large would the “demonstration” be when doing the pedophile Mohmed?

A girl can be married at 1 and the and raped at 9. People should read the Koran, then read about the problem in in Europe. Make no mistake, we will see the same here.

Better get under the bed and hide from those dastardly Muslims coming to getcha!

Nah, too crowded already under there with all your crowd hiding from those scary conservative Christians!

My crowd? Trump voting vets? It’s amazing how quickly so many so-called conservatives reveal what simpletons they are proving they’re just the other side of the coin of the nasty juvenile lefty tantrum throwers.

A: “Make no mistake, Muslims are coming to rape your 9 year old daughter! It says so in the Koran!”
B: “That’s a little over the top. Most Muslim immigrants in the USA are kind, decent, socially conservative, and grateful to be here.”
          A: “YOU HATE CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS!!!”

          Brilliant.

Thad, you are showing a profound ignorance of history, both ancient and contemporary. I suggest that you read what Winston Churchill had to say about Muslims. Read about problems with Muslims in Europe, Muslims lay low until their numbers increase, and with birth rates of 6-7 per generation, those numbers increase rapidly. Thye do not assimilate well, look at Dearborn (Henry Ford’s fault), and that they have overrun numerous neighboring communities.

    “doing the pedophile Mohmed.”

    Another genius in the house.

Great but unless this is followed up with a Bud-esque boycott of the Dodgers nothing will change.

99% guarantee:
there’d prolly be quite a few “Sisters” attempting to fly off rooftops
prolly with some assistance

Paid attendance 49,000 plus. This is still LA.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to txvet2. | June 18, 2023 at 8:01 pm

What percentage of attendees are Catholic, what is the overall % of Christians? I ma not in California, but if I was I would boycott them.

    diver64 in reply to txvet2. | June 20, 2023 at 3:35 am

Paid attendance does not equal turnstile numbers which we don’t have yet. Blocks of tickets are bought by companies and not used at all sporting events. Most glaring are NBA games. Ever notice the claims of “12,000” tickets sold but a shot of the stands shows them mostly empty? Ted Turner famously did this years ago at Atlanta Hawks games. He would see the tickets sold number and then buy thousands so the reported number looked good however the stands were empty.

They should change the name of the team from “LA Dodgers” to “LA Buggers”. It fits better.

LA Dodgers is a hate group, and its fans are hate group supporters.

“Critics say the group mocks the Catholic faith”
No, they mock Christianity and Catholics in the most vile ways possible

Critics have blasted the group as a “blatantly perverted, sexual, and disgusting anti-Catholic hate group.”
No, they are definitely that.

Stop with the weaselly “some say” nonsense. They are a vile hate group targeting Catholics and Christianity.

This is a manifestation of the “Woke Disease” that Elon Musk talked about

The Dodgers dropped their Pride Night game to their hated rival, the San Francisco Giants, 7-5. It got worse, though, much worse on Saturday.
At 15-0, the Dodgers suffered their largest home shutout loss in 125 years.

Thousands of protesters outside, and tens of paying fans attending the game.
