Ted Cruz to U.S. House: Investigate and Possibly Impeach Joe Biden

Cruz: “If Merrick Garland really issued an order prohibiting further investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings as the IRS whistleblower alleges, then I think there’s real evidence that he’s guilty of obstruction of justice.”

Texas senator Ted Cruz (R) has called on the House to investigate the latest damning evidence of Biden family corruption and influence peddling.

The New York Post reports:

Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz is urging the House to consider impeaching President Biden following the bombshell IRS whistleblower testimony that alleged the Justice Department waged a coverup in the tax fraud investigation of first son Hunter Biden.

Cruz highlighted a claim from the stunning closed-door testimony released Thursday that investigators found a WhatsApp message in which Hunter, 53, invoked his father in an apparent attempt to coerce money from a Chinese business associate.

“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz, 52, said on his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz.”

Cruz insisted that “right now” is the time for the investigation into the scandal-scarred first son to transform into an impeachment effort against the 80-year-old commander-in-chief.

Fox News has more:

“Look, this WhatsApp is direct evidence of Joe Biden abusing his government power to enrich his son, and, assuming 10% for the big guy, to enrich himself,” Cruz continued. “Remember, this WhatsApp says ‘we want to know.’ This is not just me, Hunter, just mooching off my dad…. Of course the House needs to investigate it, but the stunning thing is what the IRS whistleblower says is [Department of Justice], Merrick Garland prevented an investigation even into this message.”

. . . . Cruz discussed allegations from an IRS whistleblower released by House Republicans this week, where an investigator on the Hunter Biden probe claimed there had been unprecedented efforts to prevent investigations into Joe Biden during the 2020 campaign and into his presidency.

Whistleblower Gary Shapley Jr. — who oversaw the IRS probe into the president’s son — said the IRS had obtained a WhatsApp message dated July 30, 2017, from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, CEO of Harvest Fund Management, in which Hunter alleged that he was with his father and named him to put pressure on Zhao to fulfill a commitment.

“And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.”

“I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father,” Hunter Biden reportedly said.

“This WhatsApp directly ties Joe Biden to the millions of dollars coming from communist China,” Cruz said. “Now, it is possible Hunter Biden was lying, it’s possible Joe Biden wasn’t next to him. It’s possible Joe Biden was not going to inflict official damage on the Chinese if they didn’t pay him and his son millions of dollars. That’s possible, but you know what, we don’t know if it’s true or not. Why? Because, according to the whistleblower, they didn’t investigate, and they were prohibited from investigating. They were prevented from even asking the question.”

“Let me be clear: This, on the face of it, is obstruction of justice,” he said. “And if Merrick Garland issued that order, he is the one blocking the investigation, and I think there’s real evidence of Merrick Garland being guilty of obstruction of justice.”

Cruz, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee who has served in the Senate since 2013, said, “If you had a single Democrat who gave a flying flip about the rule of law, we would have a hearing right now with Merrick Garland in front of us, under oath, asking about this WhatsApp,” he said. “We would ask to see every document, we would ask to see every email, we’d ask to see every communication between DOJ and the investigators. We would put the IRS whistleblowers on the stand, under oath to testify about it, and we would confront Merrick Garland with that.”

“The chances of the Senate Judiciary Committee doing that are zero, because [chairman] Dick Durbin doesn’t care,” he added. “No Senate Democrat cares, but the House does, so that is the only hope for investigating this.”

The truth is that there i in s plenty of evidence to impeach and convict Quisling Joe. The evidence is so strong that maybe Democratic voters will reject their party and support a third party candidate. That the Democratic will be forever known for corruption and treason.

Just think about how Joe is responsible for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. If you think back to just before Putin attacked the majority of military analysts thought that Russia would easily defeat and occupy Ukraine. The only risk was if NATO forces fought with Ukraine. Quisling Joe eliminated that danger when he told Putin not to worry, that NATO and the USA wouldn’t fight him in Ukraine and in this way Quisling Joe was responsible for Putin’s attack on Ukraine.

“Possibly”. Enough of this bullsh*t. Get to it, Ted – even though the McConnell rino wing of the GOP will protect Biden, because they’ll be protecting themselves from discovery of their own treason and bribery.

The Senate does not have the power to impeach.

Cruz lacks the power to call any witnesses or even set the date for hearing. Unfortunately, with a Senate Minority courtesy of GA fumbles which was mostly attributable to Trump in ’20 and McConnell being a Machiavellian prick in Alaska, Nevada and AZ in ’22, the GoP can’t do diddly without consent of the majority d/prog which they ain’t gonna grant.

Aim your fire and your hope towards the HoR led by Speaker McCarthy whom DJT endorsed. He hasn’t been as as bad I feared but that was a low bar.

McCarthy knows his days are numbered if he proves to be a swamp rat.

And just like that, it’s Trumps fault 😂😂😂

Well no. Trump is responsible for what he did. As an example embrace Fauci and his totalitarian tendencies to shape Federal Covid policy. Trump is also responsible for what he didn’t do, like deliver on his campaign promise to build the border wall. Did DC establishment oppose it and throw sand in the gears? Sure but Trump also failed to impose his veto on budgets lacking funding fro the border wall.

Back to outside the beltway political races. What is Trump’s record for Statewide races in his endorsements? Not great. In ’22 his selections for endorsement in competitive State wide races for Gov and US Sen all lost except JD Vance. We can be generous and add Sen Johnson, WI to his total. Losses of both Gov and US Senate in AZ and PA. Losses of US Senate in GA (again), NV, NH. Loss of Gov in MI among other competitive statewide races.

Y’all gotta quit making excuses for Trump. The man did good thing as POTUS and has good some ideas for the ’24 campaign. The issue for me is y’all and Trump, refuse to assign any responsibility to Trump when things don’t turn out the way he promised. Y’all are in essence acting like d/prog; you want to privatize the profit (all good occurrences are due to Trump) and then socialize the losses (bad things are always someone else’s fault).

Get over yourself and your implausible fantasy that Trump is infallible. It’s wearing very thin for everyone outside the kool aid drinking Only Trump camp. If you want to be an effect surrogate for Trump then start being honest.

Now Fauci is Trumps fault? It’s all Trumps fault Democrats weaponised the Chinese death pox!! 😂

I mean wait until you discover that Democrat fella who had a stroke, can’t much reason anything for himself, avoided debates and checked himself in for depression…yet somehow Democrats can run people with the IQ of a banana and get them elected in to positions of power….but yeah it’s Trumps fault people like you worry about irrelevances 😂😂

I think we know who really needs to get over themselves sweetie 😂😂

The impeachment has to be initiated in the house. The senate only convicts and removes a president. The democrats will never remove another democrat under any circumstances.

Not only is it the right thing to do, but it will cripple Biden and the Democrats’ agendas while everything is revealed and investigated. It will force people to pay attention and learn a thing or two. Go for it!

I can hardly wait. The denouement of any successful, democratic, criminal enterprise is an impotent investigation. Five minute alternating rounds of the subject being called a crook and a hero. Then off to the next shiny object.

The Dems get traction from their prosecutions, because it’s all relentlessly about power; the outrage and proceedings are just a means.

The Feckless R’s never get traction, because, well, it’s in the name.
