Harvard Medical School Morgue Manager and Wife Charged With Stealing and Selling Human Body Parts

Harvard Medical School Morgue Manager and Wife Charged With Stealing and Selling Human Body Parts

“We are appalled to learn that something so disturbing could happen on our campus — a community dedicated to healing and serving others”

This sounds like something out of a movie. The 1978 movie ‘Coma’ comes to mind.

The Boston Globe reports:

Harvard Medical School morgue manager and wife charged in connection with theft and sale of human body parts

Denise Lodge, 63, covered her face with a printout of the indictment against her Wednesday afternoon as she walked silently from the federal courthouse following her arrest on charges related to an alleged scheme to steal and sell donated body parts.

Her husband, Cedric Lodge, 55, the morgue manager at Harvard Medical School, had allegedly taken human remains from his workplace without permission and engaged in an interstate conspiracy to profit off of them.

“We are appalled to learn that something so disturbing could happen on our campus — a community dedicated to healing and serving others,” George Q. Daley, dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University, and Edward M. Hundert, dean for Medical Education at Harvard Medical School, said in an e-mail statement. “The reported incidents are a betrayal of HMS and, most importantly, each of the individuals who altruistically chose to will their bodies to HMS through the Anatomical Gift Program to advance medical education and research.”

Cedric Lodge was terminated from his job at Harvard on May 6, according to the university.

A federal grand jury indictment returned Tuesday in Pennsylvania alleges that the couple, who live in Goffstown, N.H., conspired with others as part of a yearslong nationwide network that illegally bought and sold organs and cadaver pieces pilfered from Harvard Medical School and a mortuary in Arkansas.

“Some crimes defy understanding,” Gerard M. Karam, US attorney for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, said in a statement. “The theft and trafficking of human remains strikes at the very essence of what makes us human.”

The actions of the morgue manager and wife represent the ethical and moral rot that we’ve been seeing from Harvard, the Ivies and their ilk. Once one allows the moral and ethical rot to invade academics, one should expect the rot to reach all levels of the institution. The rot starts at the head. That is why I took Grinnell College out of my will when its Trustees thallowed the then President to gift tens of thousands of college funds to BLM Other graduates of Grinnell and other institutions should take similar actions.

Why? Was this a scheme to get parts to medical schools for studying on? It can’t have been for transplant, right? Seems no one wants to talk about the endpoint of those sales (since it’s sort of talked around in this post).

Not that simple… they were already willed to Harvard Medical School for studying on. Sounds like he was taking the free gifts and selling them to other schools instead.

Why is there a market for gray body parts?
      Because there is a shortage.
If families could at least recover the cost of burial, more people would donate.
      (I’m an organ donor.)

Not sure if this school sells parts, but they must come from somewhere in order to save lives.

I found a news article that says he was selling some of the parts to a store in Peabody that deals in creepy retail merchandise.

How much of a corpse is 10%?

Our government… teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself.

Positive Note! The overwhelming attention paid to DEI continues while everything else slips through the cracks. DEI indoctrination takes precedence over mere mortals remains

Oh my God; he was selling at least some of the parts to a place called “Kat’s Creepy Creations” in Peabody, MA. It’s a store that sells morbid dolls, bone art and other weird things.

They are very hospitable people. I was invited for coffee and they offered to warm me a Danish. /rimshot
