Chris Licht Out at CNN
He only served as CEO for a year.
(Excuse typos. On my phone!) Chris Licht is out at CNN after only a year as CEO. From Fox News:
“I have great respect for Chris, personally and professionally,” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said in a statement.
“The job of leading CNN was never going to be easy, especially at a time of huge disruption and transformation, and he has poured his heart and soul into it,” Zaslav continued. “While we know we have work to do as we look to identify a new leader, we have absolute confidence in the team we have in place and will continue to fight for CNN and its world class journalism.”
Licht came in after Jeff Zucker left over an undisclosed relationship with a coworker.
Licht wanted to clean up CNN’s leftist image. He fired John Harwood, Brian Stelter, and Don Lemon. He tried to revamp the morning show, too.
Something tells me the new CEO will be more like Zucker.

Not surprising. He seemed to want to make the network bear the semblance of legitimacy (not actually be legitimate) but it was never going to work.
1. People/viewers aren’t stupid unless they are already brainwashed. Either way, no new viewers would come in for that.
2. The propagandists entrenched at CNN were always going to fight him every step of the way.
The leftists have tight control over CNN. They do not tolerate any semblance of fair and balanced programming. It was never going to work.

Frankly, there never seemed to be a “New CNN” to gush about.
They showed some of the talent to the door, then sat on their hands, leaving us “CNN minus”

CNN was described as “world class journalism.” Really? It’s world class something, but definitely NOT “journalism.” That much is demonstrated every day. The leftists own CNN and its awful ratings. It is not reformable as a “journalism” outlet. Maybe they could remake it as a drag-queen reality show for kids. Call it CNNLGBTQ+.

He was an idiot, his first act should have been to Fire and replace every single communist at cnn. He didn’t do that, so he’s out.

That would require him to be a willing puppet and not care about his career.

Give the statement from CNN, “…we have absolute confidence in the team we have in place and will continue to fight for CNN and its world class journalism”, it certainly doesn’t seem as if those remaining have the slightest clue as to why the network is tanking.
The only time cnn beat everyone else was when they had Trump on with the town hall. You would think that might tip them off as to how they could become profitable again. Sure they would lose their leftist audience at first but then they would take all of the fnc and NewsMax people away and be the number one news channel. I guess it is an ideological thing and they can’t change.
NewsMax is even beating them in the ratings on a regular basis. I can’t remember anyone I’ve met saying they saw something on CNN outside of an airport and now CNN doesn’t even have that.

The minute the far left loons were allowed to publicly criticize Licht on-air and faced no consequences, you knew Licht was finished.
No CEO with any actual authority will allow their authority to be publicly questioned like that.
Ted Turner built an empire on a cable news outlet that did actual journalism and was the “go to” for quite some time. After he left it slowly degenerated into the joke it is now. The damage they did to themselves with such luminaries as Joy Reid, Coffee Boy Stelter, Don “Black Hole” Lemon, Ricki Maddow and Co can not be repaired. The start of the fall of CNN can be seen on Election Night 2015 and the coverage by Wolf and others that will forever live in infamy. After that night they became deranged. They spoke to a specific crowd who, unfortunately for them, cut the cable and lives online now.

Didn’t say that. Anyone who thought Jane Fonda was good pickings obviously has a judgement problem. What I said was he bought a small tv station in Atlanta and built a cable news empire.
In essence, he did with cable news what Rush did with radio. Both were told it couldn’t be done and both proved everyone wrong.
They should just make Hillary CEO.
