Mayorkas Blames Congress for Border Crisis as 10,000 Migrants Crossed on Monday, Tuesday

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has a lot of nerve, even though he is somewhat correct.

Title 42, which allowed the U.S. the expel migrants quickly, ends tomorrow. The border crisis will worsen despite the administration following Title 8.

Mayorkas blamed Congress for the border crisis instead of taking any blame for the chaos:

MAYORKAS: “I cannot overemphasize that our current situation is the outcome of Congress leaving a broken, outdated immigration system in place for over two decades, despite unanimous agreement that we desperately need legislative reform.”

When Democrats had the House, Senate, and White House, they did nothing to repair our crap immigration system.

What about now? Mayorkas has not done anything even though he claims the administration has done so much. This is nothing to brag about, considering the gotaways and apprehensions are way higher than this:

MAYORKAS: “We have seen the effectiveness of our approach. More than 100,000 people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela have arrived lawfully through the pathway we have made available to them.”

The guy won’t even acknowledge we have a border crisis.

Mayorkas says we don’t have a border crisis but feels it necessary to tell migrants the border is not open after Title 42 expires on May 11:

MAYORKAS: “We are making it very clear that our border is not open, that crossing irregularly is against the law, and that those who are not eligible for relief will be quickly returned.”

We have no crisis but remember. The border is not open:

MAYORKAS: “Let me be clear, the lifting of the Title 42 public health order does not mean our border is open. In fact, it is the contrary.”

Mayorkas admits the U.S. will “see large numbers of encounters” after Title 42. Hundreds of people are waiting on the border to cross after Title 42 expires. We’ve seen 10,000 people cross the border on Monday and Tuesday.
