“Illegal Crossings Continue to Surge to Record Highs Ahead of T42 Drop in 2 Days”

Illegal border crossings are surging as we approach the expiration of Title 42 on Thursday.
Border Patrol’s reporting that there were 18,600+ known gotaways at the border last week is a concerning number.

The number of crossings are expected to skyrocket after Thursday and leaders at the border are taking steps to deal with it.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has activated the state’s National Guard.

Abbott activates ‘Texas Tactical Border Force’; 545 more National Guardsmen deployed before Title 42 expires
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday announced a new Texas Tactical Border Force ahead of the expiration of the Title 42 public health order, which helped block migrants from entering the U.S.
In response to “Joe Biden’s reckless border policies,” the Texas National Guard is loading Black Hawk helicopters and C-130s to deploy specially trained National Guard members to “hotspots along the border to intercept, to repel and to turn back migrants who are trying to enter Texas illegally,” Abbott said at a press conference from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
In a statement, the Texas National Guard said it activated 545 more service members at locations around the state Monday to “reinforce the border mission in anticipation of the end of Title 42 immigration restrictions.”
“These additional forces will bolster the thousands of Texas National Guard service members already assisting local and state law enforcement agencies to secure the border; stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons and people into Texas; and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal behavior between the ports of entry,” the Texas National Guard said in a statement Monday. “We have expanded our capabilities to include boat teams that patrol hundreds of river miles, drones and helicopters that detect illicit activity from the air, and brush teams, security points and roving patrols that block and interdict illegal smuggling (drugs, weapons and people) into Texas.”

Governor Greg Abbott today announced the deployment of the new Texas Tactical Border Force to the Texas-Mexico border to respond to the growing border crisis at Austin Bergstrom International Airport in Austin. With President Joe Biden ending Title 42 this Thursday, the Governor is enhancing Texas’ unprecedented border security efforts with the tactical deployment of hundreds of Texas National Guard soldiers to join the thousands already deployed as part of Operation Lone Star and serve on the new border force for targeted responses as the nation braces for an expected spike in illegal immigration.
“With the ending of Title 42 on Thursday, President Biden is laying down the welcome mat to people across the entire world, but Texas is deploying our new Texas Tactical Border Force,” said Governor Abbott. “The Texas National Guard is loading Blackhawk helicopters and C-130s and deploying specially trained soldiers for the Texas Tactical Border Force, who will be deployed to hotspots all along the border to help intercept and repel large groups of migrants trying to enter Texas illegally. The Texas Tactical Border Force will bolster our Operation Lone Star efforts to secure the Texas border amid the chaos caused by President Biden’s elimination of Title 42.”

This is the area near Brownsville where migrants were crossing in large numbers a few days ago.
We now have it wired shut.
Other areas will surface for crossing.

This means in coming days we will likely begin to see mass releases of migrants at bus stops, gas stations, supermarkets etc in communities across the border as illegal crossings continue to surge to record highs ahead of T42 drop in 2 days.

The number of illegal border crossings in the coming days could make the number from the last few months seem small by comparison.
Thousands of people have camped on Mexico’s side of the border.

It’s like Title 8 doesn’t even exist
Nothing to worry about and nothing to see. It’s all going according to plan.
Gonna get spicy as the activists within Biden Admin get their wish on ending Title 42. The problem is the majority of the Public is opposed to open borders. The border Cities and States are already overwhelmed by sharp increases of the last two years.
The Biden WH has had 30 months, including the transition, to develop a plan for the end of using Title 42 authority. This is 100% their show and they have set themselves up for a massive failure. The vocal activists in their party won’t let them crack down (even if they wanted to which they don’t) and the photos and videos documenting the daily failure along the border are going to be devastating to anyone who isn’t a fool.

What news media you ask? The ones such as the videos and photos in the article about which you are posting. New media, Twitter as the prime example, allows individuals to post videos and they are very widely shared and disseminated. Even legacy media has been upping their coverage of late.
Will MSNBC be sending down a dedicated crew and a reporter to do daily updates like Bill Melugin does at Fox? Probably not long term but very likely gonna get someone down there in the short term, even a stringer, to cover the story.
I typed in Title 42 just now to my search engine and got results back on the following media outlets running stories about the the end of Title 42; CNN x4, Reuters, Houston Chronicle, NJ.com, Detroit Free Press, NY Post, Washington Post, CBS, NBC, NPR, US News, PBS. Fox had another 3 stories. Most of these
Media stories had video embedded.
That’s on one page mind you. Seems like more coverage than we might have though exists. Temporary? Maybe/Maybe not. Depends on if particularly horrific high visibility crimes or tragedies occur as time goes by. Unfortunately there will almost certainly be a number of these b/c of Biden’s recklessness.

Another quick search of ‘polling about border crisis’ once again shows pages of articles from all the major media outlets many from last Summer. This data is from NPR of all places showing that as of Aug ’22; 54% of all Americans (D/R/I) believe an invasion is underway at the Southern Border.
This NPR story from last Aug goes on to list the historic levels of illegal immigrants crossing the border, the challenges and costs faced by Border Communities. It then discusses the drop in support for Dreamers and the rise in support for a border wall and increased enforcement.
When even the extraordinarily lefty NPR is covering the issues about illegal immigration we can’t honestly proclaim there was a blackout amounting to ‘crickets’ or suggest people don’t know the border is a mess. The average person might not know how much worse it is gonna be very soon but they do know it isn’t sunshine and roses at the border.
What’s an additional 1 to 2 million when about 1 in 12 people in US is illegal? “Replacement Theory” in action… but rest assured none are set to replace anyone at CNN or NPR… that is what counts. Petty soon…. English as a second language. Imagine if by magic all those who crossed over were conservative? Just dreaming.

I’m a big believer in measuring asteroids in camel-equivalents or meteorites in squirrel-equivalents, because often the visualization helps.
The only problem with this particular comparison is that it illustrates only the gotaways.
It should have been accompanied by additional stadium-equivalents to depict the TOTAL number of illegal immigrants (processed and gotaways) in one week. That would have opened some eyes. This one is too easy to misinterpret.
They will be welcomed here in Arizona by Governor Katie Hobbs. She has vetoed any attempt by the AZ legislature to protect our border. But it’s getting hot here — in the high 90s by next week, and typically by mid-May over 100 every day until October. No one talks about the number of illegals who try to cross the desert in that heat and eventually die from exposure and dehydration. It’s a big desert.
