High School Students in Kansas City Want Teacher Fired for Criticizing DEI Policies and Preferred Pronouns

“The white saviorism and virtue-signaling at DEI meetings is so condescending that many minorities and other staff members have stopped attending.”

When did high school students start believing that they have the power to demand teachers be fired?

The College Fix reports:

HS students want teacher canned for not using ‘preferred’ pronouns, ripping DEI measures

Approximately 60 students at a Kansas City high school walked out of classes Wednesday to protest a veteran teacher who had written a op-ed criticizing school diversity policies and allegedly doesn’t use students’ “preferred” pronouns.

Caedran Sullivan wrote late last month in The Lion that she could “no longer stay silent” about the Shawnee Mission School District “fostering a toxic environment” with its DEI trainings.

“There is repeated white shaming and a preoccupation with white people as the ‘oppressor,’ including staff field trips with a focus on ‘systemic racism,’ Sullivan wrote. “The white saviorism and virtue-signaling at DEI meetings is so condescending that many minorities and other staff members have stopped attending.”

Sullivan also said teachers were told to refer to students by the preferred pronouns, “but hide from the parents the fact that their minor children are transitioning at school.”

Further:

There is a strong anti-capitalism, anti-conservatism, and anti-American bias in the DEI curriculum, with an emphasis on “white fragility” and “how to be antiracist.” I have been in workshops where teachers were discussing how to incorporate The 1619 Project into their English curriculum, and how to use Orwell’s book 1984 in class as propaganda against those of one political party.

One teacher referred to me as a “Nazi” and “fascist” for disagreeing with her views.

Difficult to believe this is happening in Shawnee Mission, which is a Kansas suburb of Kansas City.

It won’t happen, but it’d be refreshing if the school administrators reminded these entitled, self-important little snots that the students don’t run the school.

First have all students assemble in the gym or theater. Then explain to them, that unless a teacher physically or verbally abuses them, then THEY (the students) should deal with it and continue their education. Tell them at worst they only have to put up with it for four years. Then tell them after they graduate, they will still have to put up with employers, co-worders, college teachers and others that they will not agree with. Its perfectly normal that others will have different opinions and its important that students learn to deal with it.

So 60…. What is that 5 or 10% of the students….ignore the squalling ignorant babies…

No. We need to stop ignoring them, and start addressing them. Unless we go back to the days when it was NOT OK to be little snots, we lose the country.

Why does this happen? Because the elites who are attempting to control everything in our country lie, and too many people are ambivalent or afraid to speak out for fear that they will be called racists, white suprematists, etc. We the People have the right to free speech and the elites want to take that right in-order to exercise control over the folks.

They way they are being addressed is by giving them everything they want and pretending what they are saying and demanding is important and the right thing….you want MORE Of that?

The proper answer any time students demand something is to promptly squash their pride and humiliate them, reminding them that they are there to learn because they are ignorant fools, for the most part, and they have no business “demanding” anything of their masters. (And I use that last word on purpose.)

Where the students taught to read “Animal Farm” from a Marxist perspective?

Shawnee Mission was a religious venture founded to help Indian (as they were referred to at the time) boys (ditto) to learn to work and succeed in their new milieu, around the 1820’s, long before Kansas was even a state. The Mission was located a ways southwest of Kansas City, at the present area of 53rd Street and Mission Road. (Of course) Shawnee Mission High School was a ways west of that, founded in 1922. During the boom that followed WWII it became Shawnee Mission North as they had to add East, West, South and Northwest to the HS lineup. They were the SM North Indians until 2021, when they became the SM North Bison, in a shocking speciesist display of cultural appropriation. As the first HS in Johnson County, and nearest to KC itself, the demographics have changed to look more like cities than suburbs. Naturally the clientele reflects this change, but thank God not everyone there has gone woke yet. A new battleground for a new Civil War? Let’s hope not.
