DeSantis Declares There Will be No ‘Pronoun Olympics,’ Child Sex Changes in Florida

“With my signature, Florida permanently prohibits genital mutilating surgical procedures and experimental puberty blockers for minors.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation allowing kids to be kids.

DeSantis said no one would perform in the “pronoun Olympics in Florida:

“We never did this through all of human history until like two weeks ago. They’re having third graders declare pronouns? We’re not doing the pronoun olympics in Florida.”

No child sex surgeries:

DESANTIS: “You have a movement amongst, I would say rogue elements of the medical establishment to do things that is basically the mutilation of minors. I mean, they’re trying to do sex change operations on minors, giving them things like puberty blockers and doing things that are irreversible to them. And that is not based on science. That is not based on evidence. In fact you have had countries that have tried to do this in Europe, and they recognized this was very harmful. And so now they don’t do it — places like Sweden. And yet here in the United States, you have a very, I would say ideologically charged small group of folks within medicine that are really pushing these types of procedures on minors. We think that that is wrong. In Florida last year, we took action so that no physician that does those procedures are going to be able to keep their medical license. So that’s gone if you do this, which is great.” (Applause)

“Florida students and teachers will no longer have to “declare” their pronouns in school”
So we’re back to the “Pat” problem? Never mind, it’s still better.

“And so now they don’t do it — places like Sweden.”
Who, if you recall, pioneered it (with Christine Jorgensen).

Just mention that pronouns, like prepositions, are a closed class. New ones are not discovered.

QUOTE: “You have a movement amongst, I would say rogue elements of the medical establishment to do things that is basically the mutilation of minors. I mean, they’re trying to do sex change operations on minors, giving them things like puberty blockers and doing things that are irreversible to them.” UNQUOTE

I’m so old I can remember when the Islamic practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) was considered barbaric!

We’ve come a long way, baby!

The culture war issues are with fighting, particularly for those that work to protect minor children. Leave the kids alone wasn’t a controversial statement until ten minutes ago. It is surprising and sad how many prominent folks sit on their hands instead of pushing back and working towards protecting kids from the weirdo wokiestas.

He’s already been attacked for being too tough on abortion… by Team Trump… and I can see them attacking him for this too. lol. Remember that Trump was never anti-Trans and said they can use whatever bathroom they wanted at Mar-A-Lago.

Without President Trump we would have NEVER overturned Roe

    NEVER

President Trump has stated he believes a woman who has been raped, incest, or life of the mother should be allowed to choose.

A lot of people believe that, although I am sure many women would proclaim they have been raped, try to deny it ..

    Good luck.

CommoChief in reply to gonzotx. | May 18, 2023 at 8:16 am

It isn’t up to anyone to disprove a rape, it is up to the person making that claim to prove it. Did the folks claiming to be victims file a police report? Did they go to the hospital to seek treatment? Did they go to their physician to seek the morning after pill?

If they did not then there’s a lack of compelling contemporaneous evidence to support the claim. Believe all women is a crock. The morning after pill aka plan B has made abortions for rape and incest obsolete.

If by health we are discussing physical health exclusively then sure. Mental health? No. Hell no, unless of course that individual wishes to be voluntarily committed for long duration of mental treatment. In some places things as simple as a cleft palette are used as the basis for an abortion due to ‘deformity’.

End the culture of death. That said Federalism is the answer. Each.State can pass the legislation that most closely tracks the culture, history of the State and matches the will of that State’s voters. Keep Congress out of it.

Not so good ron and the RNC ( as usual)

JACKSONVILLE – Democrat Donna Deegan won the Jacksonville mayor’s race Tuesday night, a shocking upset that hands Florida Democrats a major shot of energy less than six months after they were trounced in the 2022 midterms and considered left for dead by the national party.

What? You have been claiming for months that Trump had nothing to do with the losses in 2022 (or 2020 or 2018), but suddenly it’s DeSantis’ fault a Dem was elected? I get it, you back Trump, nothing wrong with that at all, but you guys need to be consistent. You cannot excuse Trump’s losses (which are legion) and then bash DeSantis for a loss in J-ville (that he didn’t even campaign for or put anything behind).

At this point, Trump supporters are just kind of glassy-eyed zombies, not thinking people who love this country. You bash DeSantis for stuff that Trump himself did, you bash DeSantis because the same exact millionaire donors who supported Trump before are now supporting DeSantis. The same money from the same donors is suddenly “bad” . . . because it’s not going to your guy, a guy whose people are backing Disney groomers and Bud-Light’s transgender push FOR THE MONEY. They aren’t even shy about it, Trump Jr. literally said we have to stop the boycott and support Bud-Light BECAUSE THEY DONATE TO THE GOP. I’m sorry, but what the actual F?

Who is doing the donors’ bidding regardless of the negative effects on our country? Oh, right, TRUMP. Not DeSantis, who has recently been taken to task for NOT bowing to his donors’ whims. Like that’s a bad thing.

“At this point, Trump supporters are just kind of glassy-eyed zombies, not thinking people who love this country.”

      Can you hear yourself?

Take a dispute with ONE Trump supporter, and smear them all. Maybe a red background next time?

And then there is the REST of what I said:

At this point, Trump supporters are just kind of glassy-eyed zombies, not thinking people who love this country. You bash DeSantis for stuff that Trump himself did, you bash DeSantis because the same exact millionaire donors who supported Trump before are now supporting DeSantis. You are the one who is wrong. Trump supporters will not allow any form of debate about who is the best person to lead the country out of the mess we are in. It is only Trump or no one. For some reason, you can only see one guy and not see the wonderful and brave things DeSantis has done in FL. I am tired of trying to see both sides when you act like Democrats with selective memory and hypocrisy. Why can’t you just defend Trump for what he did but acknowledge that he is a terribly flawed man? I was hoping that he would announce his candidacy and run as an experienced politician with lessons learned, but no, he is the same uncontrolled guy he was 6 years ago. Think about a man who would go after an opponent’s wife for having a mental breakdown. Then accuse his father of being part of the crowd that killed JFK. He didn’t learn a thing while POTUS about humility or compassion. He may very well win but after he leaves office hate will be everywhere and will poison politics for many years to come.

“Trump supporters will not allow any form of debate about who is the best person to lead the country out of the mess we are in.”

          Another overgeneralization of disapragement.

Good to see you approve of the statement:

“Trump supporters are just kind of glassy-eyed zombies, not thinking people who love this country.”

As a Jacksonville voter, I can attest that we didn’t hear anything about DeSantis’s endorsement in our mayor’s race before my wife and I voted (two weeks ago, by absentee ballot) — first learned about it on Election Day. And I’ve been quite active on conservative sites where I get most of my news.

The endorsement had very little, if any, effect on the balloting here.

The MAGA crowd has already started calling him Ivey League Ron and is trying to make him into an egghead who is out of touch with average Americans, as if DJT is one of them. BTW, DJT went to an Ivey League college.

I heard from a guy yesterday who lives in JAX and he said that the woman who won was a very well-known TV personality and name recognition was the number one factor. Also, with its large black population, if the DNC became involved, there is no telling what might have happened. It is scary to think of large cities and how easily they can be manipulated. As you have all seen on TV, here in Atlanta it was rampant corruption in the counties that make up Atlanta.

Rudy, that’s true — although Deegan had a negative perception among many voters, she had been a news anchor for more than 20 years. She runs a charitable foundation, the Donna Foundation, for breast cancer that annually puts on the Donna Marathon (are you seeing a theme here?).

During the televised debate held at the University of North Florida, the crowd was particularly biased (loaded with students), cheering every time that Deegan answered a question so that the anchors would have to admonish the crowd. In contrast, Republican Daniel Davis was booed and jeered when he spoke. That gave me an early indication of how this race might go.

Davis wasn’t a particularly charismatic candidate, either.

DeSantis had a blue collar upbringing; Trump was born with a silver spoon in his mouth

You missed a spot: Panama City elected their first ever Republican mayor, Dr. Michael “Doc” Rohan, who defeated 12-year incumbent mayor Greg Brudnicki in the runoff election, the Republican Party of Florida celebrates.

I have noticed that the media are slowly starting a campaign suggesting that Ron is a stupid, six pack Joe dolt. Most voters don’t know of his double Ivy pedigree. It would be thrilling to see him alternate his persona from good old Joe to Professor D almost randomly. It would madden the media and drain them of a consistent narrative.

I have never seen the media portray him as. a six pack Joe dolt. On Twitter, most people seem to know that he is an honors grad of Yale and Harvard Law School
