Chick-fil-A Hires a VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Chick-fil-A Hires a VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

A clip from 2 years ago shows CEO Dan Cathy saying white should shine a black person’s shoes with “a sense of shame, a sense of embarrassment.”

They got to the Jesus chicken.

Chick-fil-A went woke. It hired a VP of DEI, which is as woke as possible. It has Marxism roots.

Chick-fil-A tries to make it positive with Bible verses to prove the company did the right thing with the hire.

It turns out Chick-fil-A formed its DEI department in 2020:

This DEI department has been part of Chick-Fil-A since at least 2020, a year when A LOT of companies found out that they had to have DEI departments in order to be aNti-RaCisT.

Eric McReynolds is now the Vice President of CFA in charge of DEI, but in 2020 he was put into the position of executive director of DEI.

(Meaning the influence of the woke DEI wing of Chick-Fil-A is moving up the food chain.)

Dude, Chick-fil-A, you were already doing great by showing a company didn’t have to cave to the left. Everyone knows you accept everyone.

I mean, if you’re going to keep doing this, then why bother putting on a show about it:

Why make everything about race, sexuality, and politics? Why bend the knee to the woke crowd? Is the fact that the founding family’s stance on traditional marriage harming business? I doubt it. Why the need to prove to everyone you’re not bigots?

A clip of the Chick-fil-A CEO has made the rounds on Twitter.

The clip is from two years ago, but it’s a shame we just discovered it because it is a huge warning sign. We should shine a black person’s shoes with “a sense of shame, a sense of embarrassment.”

I don’t think so, bro.

Will they again ask us to shine a black man’s shoes?

If the CEO is serious he can set the example by letting all black people eat free at Chick-fil-a. Then I’ll go get my shoe shine kit—put black shoe polish on my face and go get me some free chicken.

Good luck making them Nikes glow.

This kid Dan Cathy was great.
    “Spitshine Danny.”

He’d make your shoes look like
    f**king mirrors. Excuse my language.
He was the best. Made a lot of money.

“Now go home and get your f’in shine box!!!”

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to guyjones. | May 30, 2023 at 3:46 pm

Let him shine black men’s shoes on live television. Start with Al Sharpton, Benjamin Crump, and Alvin Bragg. If he has the right holders, then to Ilhan Omar’s and Joy Reed’s.

        /gads but I despise a groveler.

While clad in kente cloth and/or keffiyeh scarves, submissively lowered on bended knee, to show solidarity with allegedly oppressed peoples, everywhere.

I have visited this place only once: to redeem a free milk share coupon.

I have decided I will never return!

“Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy says ALL whites should get on their knees and shine black peoples’ shoes with “a sense of shame, a sense of embarrassment”.”

After 50 years of giving blacks a leg up and hoping blacks do well, whites are accused of racism and mostly now think “I think the trouble is on your end.”

I’ve been saying for years: time for the preference and other bennies to stop.

Dear black folks: sink or swim. Signed: whites, Indians (casino), Indians (call center), Jews, Romany, Slavs, and more.

Why would white person from Eastern Europe, arriving in this century, have any sense of shame?

For some reason, nobody’s defending slavery. It’s a good system. In a “Hit the guy on the head and take his stuff” economy, enslaving your defeated enemy is better than killing him. A win/win for both sides.

Such an economy is inefficient, though, since all your capital goes into defense.

The (western) invention of the free market and enforceable contracts made slavery obsolete. A slave contributes more to society working in his own interest than in working as a slave.

So slavery ended except for tradition, which came up with worse and worse justifications (e.g. “Naturally subservient race”) after the obvious economic justification ended. A gift of the west.

No thanks, Dan Cathy. I have been degraded and humbled by shoveling other’s sh*t throughout life that I really don’t need your advice on how to do it again. I can be a friend to anyone that wants to be my friend but I refuse to bow to anyone but my Lord 🙂

Sorry, Cathy, but you’re not practicing Christianity here. You’re practicing the religion of Progressivism, a Christian heresy that wears it like a skinsuit. It perverts Christian virtue by taking off the governor and then cranking the knob.

Shame, because it was nice to not only get a good chicken sandwich, but to know the place was run on Christian principles.

Did Dan Cathy not realize just how racist his shoe shining comment was? Not against Whites but against Blacks. If the image you have of a Black man is the shoe shine guy at the train station you are the one with a race problem not every White person. I am just kind of wondering why he did not suggest every White person do a Black person’s ironing. Just to add some sexism into the racism blather.

Some CEOs don’t know Matthew from Marx.

Inclusion and diversity means hiring their quota of atheists and pedophiles doesn’t it?

nordic prince | May 30, 2023 at 2:26 pm

Speak for yourself, Mr. Cathy – I’ve always shined my own shoes.

Chick Fil E? Game over, man.

I wish I liked their food so I could boycott them.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to windbag. | May 30, 2023 at 3:26 pm

I ate there two or three times. All that stood out was trey got the order right. The food? I don’t know what all of the excitement is about.

Because its actual real chicken instead of the processed patty crap that most of the other fast food chains pass off as ‘chicken’.

And their service is actually great, They can get 20 cars through faster than other places can get through 5.

That being said, it’s not so great that you can’t get it other places. This is SO stupid. They’ve literally built their brand on telling the far left ‘no’.

JR in reply to Olinser. | May 30, 2023 at 4:42 pm

Pretty soon we are going to have to boycott all businesses.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to JR. | May 30, 2023 at 6:47 pm

I’m selective where possible. Henkel laundry products as opposed to Proctor & Gamble. I look for Made in USA, and when I can’t find it, I buy Made in Not China where possible. I avoid CitGo unless the low-tank light is on and it is all I can see.

I DO use Amazon and Walmart because they generally have what I want on the shelf, when I want it. Lowe’s offers 10% off for veterans; I take advantage of that and the customer service at their stores in my area is first class.

Full disclosure: my new computer is on its way via FedEx from China as I type this, but, for my needs it was what is available,

(I refuse to go back to Windows since it was turned into Adware in version 11, and Linux is still too “yes but…” for my ever-dwindling level of patience.)

DSHornet in reply to JR. | May 31, 2023 at 9:39 am

Grizz, I’ve been building my own computers for about thirty years, upgrading and servicing for about ten years before that, and I look for Not-Made-In-China as well. The last major upgrade two years ago was with parts made in S. Korea and Taiwan.

As for Win-11, I’ll go that direction in a couple more years when I have no choice. Linux Mint is my dual boot fallback if Windows gives me a problem. It helps keep the brain working.

henrybowman in reply to Olinser. | May 30, 2023 at 6:56 pm

OK, it’s real chicken. But DW and I found it pretty tasteless unless we tarted it up ourselves. And unfortunately, good chicken sandwiches need seasonings that aren’t stocked on fast food tables.

Leftism/Socialism/Cultural Marxism/Dumb-o-crat ethos are all vicious cancers. Once they infiltrate an institution, they metastasize and inevitably corrupt and take over.

This infiltration has manifested itself at the corporate Boardroom and C-Suite level in numerous instances, of late — Fox News, Target, Anheuser-Busch/InBev, Lululemon, Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Nike, Blackrock, State Street, Bank of America, Walt Disney, Salesforce, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet and far too many others to name, here.

Close The Fed | May 30, 2023 at 3:27 pm

Yeah, this was a thing a few years ago they did — around the time Target was doing men in women’s bathrooms. Have only purchased food there once in the last few years because of it.

I saw that video 2 years ago, actually during blm, I use to go a lot, liked their sandwich, I only go now cause the grandchildren like it but that’s pretty rare, guess it should be never

The Gentle Grizzly | May 30, 2023 at 3:34 pm

In my 74 years, I’ve seen chains and companies come and go. That, or shrink due to not making the right decisions. Kodak, Sears, JC Penny, Sambo’s, Kress, and more.

Today, we see companies shooting them selves repeatedly in the foot by groveling before the LGBTQRSTEIEIO pressure groups, and the exalted, almighty knee-grow.

Racism, Congruence, and Selection. Diversity is Inequity, Exclusion (i.e. DIEversity).

That said, diversity of individuals, minority of one. #HateLovesAbortion

I’d rather go to Steak ‘n Shake.

I once knew a friendly leftist who kept a list on his cell phone of all the companies and products he was boycotting because of their conservative politics and other issues. There were hundreds of them! Every time he went into a grocery store, convenience store, hardware store, Amazon, or wherever, he had to check this list before making a purchase. And he would even have to do further research because there could be a product that was not on his boycott list, but the company who manufactured it was.

I can’t imagine living my life in such a tedious way. I occasionally enjoy a shot of Jack Daniels followed by a chaser of Coors Golden. But now I’ve been informed that these previously “conservative” companies have now sold out to the LGBT community so I should boycott them too. Also I should probably sell my Chevy Silverado Z71 as well.

I guess the left and the right can do all the boycotting they want, but all I want to do is buy the best quality product at the best possible price.

Antifundamentalist | May 30, 2023 at 6:14 pm

The left tried and failed to cancel them. Sadly, they are going to cancel themselves. My daughter loves Chick-fil-A breakfasts. They’ve been a go-to for meals while travelling. When my kids were small, we’d go there for the safe and clean play areas….

I guess I’m going to have to start packing breakfasts for our mornings at the park.

C’mon, Mr. Cathy. Don’t do this. Save your company’s har-erned money. We all have seen how your employees never refused service to the “Woke” activists, and embarrassed the bloominbejayzas out of them.

Our local Chick Fil A has always hired a diverse crew, so I don’t get the company’s need to play the Marxist game.
They would have been far better to just use the Golden Rule as basis for business rather than capitulating to the mob.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to lc. | May 31, 2023 at 9:56 pm

Yeah. But I do notice that the young white kids run circles around the young black kids for the most part.

Yeah, it may be racist to tell the truth today, but most black kids have a maximum setting of 5, and the white kids mostly have a setting of 8.

But both have a hard time getting an order correct. I still check the bag before I leave.

Brown kids? Mostly stuck washing the dishes…

I live in GA and we have Chick-fil-a’s everywhere. I have heard the history of the Cathy family and how Truit, the old man, was so generous and kind to everyone. I don’t eat there very often because it isn’t that good but the service is better than any other fast food outlet. However, after watching that disgusting groveling and his sickening statements about how all whites should beg forgiveness and shine their shoes, that is the end for me. I have never owned a slave nor have I ever met one. There is not one slave alive today nor one slave owner alive today. Why should we be expected to pay for the sins of SOME of our ancestors? Another example of a CEO who has tremendous guilt for being so rich.
