Sanctuary City policies are not working out as planned. Liberal cities are straining under the massive increase in illegal immigration due to Biden’s inaction at the southern border.
During a recent appearance on a panel for the African American Mayors Association, NYC Mayor Eric Adams actually said that New York is being ‘destroyed’ by the migrant crisis.

Democrat New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Friday the migrant crisis the country is facing under the Biden administration has “destroyed” his city.
Adams made the comments during a panel discussion with the African American Mayors Association in Washington, D.C.
“[The] city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis,” Adams said during the discussion.
Adams even appeared to take a hit at politicians from his own city, suggesting they aren’t doing much to fix the issue at hand.
“None of my folks came to Washington, D.C., to fight for the resources, that’s going to undermine every agency in our city,” Adams said.
Adams made similar comments Wednesday, when he said that the “national government has turned its back on New York City,” adding that “every service in this city is going to be impacted by the asylum seeker crisis.”
In a memo from the New York City Office of Management, reported by the New York Post, the city will spend an estimated $4.2 billion on costs related to migrants and asylum seekers that would be spent through June 30, 2023, and the end of fiscal year 2024.

On the other side of the country, Portland, Oregon isn’t doing much better.

Portland shelters at full capacity, some asylum seekers are living on the streets
City officials say the expo, other shelters, and hotels are at full capacity for asylum seekers.
For six days, 10 families say they’ve been living on the streets of Portland with no shelter and limited food.
“There are many people sleeping outside because of the shortage of houses,” said Patricio Massanga, who is seeking housing.
Patricio Massanga says he’s the only one in the group that can speak English.
He translated for Muanza Joseph who says they’re struggling.
“Right now we don’t have anything. We don’t have anything that can help us to survive,” said Joseph. “We are suffering with kids outside. With the cold weather outside and no food.”
Portland’s Health and Human Services Director Kristen Dow said in an email Thursday that the temporary shelter at the Portland Expo is at max capacity.
Unless people move out, no others can move in.

What’s happening in New York City has been happening all over the country for quite some time. It’s just now reaching them. They were a sanctuary city until illegal aliens came there for sanctuary.
No democrat should be whining about this. None. And if it’s making them sick, good.
I lived in El Paso for a decade and what NYC and other blue enclaves far north of the southern border are now experiencing is what border cities have been dealing with for decades. Feeding, housing and clothing a continuous influx of immigrants is an ongoing struggle for these border cities. For the most part a network of local charities with significant local financial and volunteer support does the vast majority of the work with some federal financial assistance. These blue enclaves are going to need to suck it up and create the same sorts of organizations to provide support or continue to flail in the face of the influx of illegal immigrants created by the Biden WH. Whether they can or will do so remains to be seen.
Illegal aliens is what they are. Stop calling them “asylum seekers” and “immigrants” as they have criminally crossed the border and have no problems braking other laws.
I think a more accurate term would be “hostile foreign invaders”.

This guy is complaining that his “sanctuary city” has gotten 56K illegals? That is roughly 1/3 of the USA population-based share of the perhaps 6M illegals to date under the Biden administration that NY City should have gotten. Eric Adams needs to get with the program.
I disagree with the first sentence in the article. The sactuary city policies are working out exactly as planned. Very poorly.
It is the goal of every Democrat ruled polity inside our borders to bring about the end of the Constitutional Republic. Encouraging foreign invasion is a prime tactic of theirs. One counter, until and unless we are allowed to defend our borders again, would be to funnel the invaders to those Democrat ruled polities so that they bear the burden and not the Republic. If they collapse completely, then there may be some hope of rebuilding.

This is a problem that cannot be fixed by fighting for resources. This can only be fixed by making our borders impenetrable, by deporting visa overstayers and asylum fraud perpetrators, by prosecuting employers who hire illegal aliens, and ultimately, by deporting those who entered the U.S.A. illegally. Funny how demorats always think the solution is always More Federal Dollars. Never worked. Look at the schools.
