‘People are Going to Die’: The Great Twitter Meltdown Over the Loss of Legacy Checkmarks

Stay safe from the “hostage blue check thing”

Yesterday, we witnessed the grand apocalypse for Legacy Blue Checks, and ever since, we’ve been swimming in their flood of tears.

At this rate, we might just need to launch a GoFundMe campaign to supply them with endless tissues for their sniffles.

Meanwhile, we have folks scrambling to ensure the world knows their blue check didn’t cost them a dime, thanks to the gracious handout from good ol’ Elon.

We join Ron Coleman and are the most worried about an entire branch of the US government leaving Twitter. The replies to his tweet won’t let you down. HA!

We have other people joking as well…. we think this is a joke. Is it?

Normal folks are trying to explain that “verification” on Twitter has always been broken. Paying for a Blue Check is not really about verification as it is to get extra features.

But overall…

First world problems of people that have better things to do, but choose to engage in idiocy.

The real issue isn’t the $8, it’s that they’re no longer ‘better than the plebs’ they looked down on. If you weren’t ‘someone special’ with the ‘right political views’ you couldn’t get a checkmark.

Now everyone is equal and they can’t stand it.

What would Alyssa Milano, or even Bette Midler, be today without their constant use of Twitter over the last few years? A barely-working B actress and a semi-retired entertainer.

They would have faded into obscurity without Twitter.

Yet, they think they are God’s gift to the platform.

“After all these years and thousands of tweets and free content”
All these years, I thought Antifa and BLM were burning down blue cities.
Now I realize that they were “giving us free content.”

Seems to me lying about an untested jab is getting people killed. YOU not getting a liberal check not so much.

Self-abortion? Forced by egotistical dysphoria. #JadedRevenge

Boo f*cking hoo … the idiots don’t get to act like they’re better than everyone else anymore. f*ck them.

I think Musk should offer both red and blue checks. So people can tell better who’s who…

Nah. Then people will start demanding rainbow checks, and then everything goes to shit, like everything else.

“People are going to die”

100% assured; no one escapes.

With or without Twitter.

Steven Brizel | April 21, 2023 at 2:15 pm

This is what happens thelegacy media and its cheerleaders become just like those who deems too stupid to understand the truth

These self-absorbed people never want to pay, even a loosy $6

Killed? By a bool?

The existential crisis will continue until we experience a math overflow and the negated statement becomes true.

The Karen’s have complained to the manager. They will have to pay like the rest.

I would suggest these people have lost their freaking minds but we all know that happened a long time ago.

“It really sunk in for me today that Elon is trying to be Trump.”
Did the date fly right over everybody’s heads? Not Trump.
“Such a great day in so many ways.”
Musk is laughing at you all, you ahistorical dweebs.

“Great. Now an entire branch of the US government is gone from Twitter”
A good first step, to be sure… but we can’t relax now, there are so many more dangerous guns parasites to ban.

‘People are Going to Die’: The Great Twitter Meltdown Over the Loss of Legacy Checkmarks”

Reality check. Less than 1% of humanity even know what a “Legacy Checkmark” is and most of them couldn’t care less.

stevewhitemd | April 21, 2023 at 4:22 pm

Celebrities can, of course, pay $8 a month. But there are unfortunate people who can’t afford that —

— ANTIFA agitators coordinating riots
— Pedoph…, er, ‘minor attracted persons’
— millennial progressives tweeting from a Starbucks, car or basement
— Gang members planning the next snatch and grab at a Nordstroms

Oh, the humanity…

Less than the price of a cup of coffee. For just pennies a day you can sponsor an entitled, whiny leftist and help them retain their blue checkmark ..

Operators are standing by. Your generous donations help bring the leftist light into the world one checkmark at a time. Won’t you help us with this important mission? /S

    “ANTIFA agitators coordinating riots”
“Gang members planning the next snatch and grab at a Nordstroms”
They actually probably prefer to remain unverified.

Valerie in reply to stevewhitemd. | April 21, 2023 at 7:10 pm

I think people ought to offer to sponsor individual celebs, and then proclaim it to the world as a charity.

Amazing how every single one of these vile, obnoxious, narcissistic, self-congratulatory and sanctimonious twits in mainstream media, entertainment and the Dumb-o-crat Party, marches in total lockstep with regard to their hostility towards Musk and Twitter, solely because of his efforts to call out and combat the Dumbs’ Orwellian and totalitarian censorship efforts.

Not a single one of these snakes possesses the moral probity and independence to align with free speech.

You are asking too much of the Left.

stevewhitemd in reply to guyjones. | April 21, 2023 at 7:06 pm

They’re in such alignment you’d think they could all share one twitter account, jointly pay the $8, and take turns tweeting. After all, they’re not going to say anything with which the others would disagree.

For the life of me, I thought Dan Rather was dead. I guess it was just his career.

“People are going to die.”

Huh? I thought we all died when net neutrality didn’t get implemented.

guyjones in reply to MarkJ. | April 21, 2023 at 8:19 pm

Good memory. I had forgotten the Dumb-o-crats’ histrionics and hysterics on this issue. As per usual, once the Dumbs throw their tantrums, they breezily move on to their next exercise in demagoguery and contrived “crisis” agitprop.

healthguyfsu | April 21, 2023 at 7:27 pm

The irony of a complaint about a fee that is a good bit cheaper for them than the subscriptions for the middle class to the content they receive royalties from (netflix, amazon prime, hulu, et al).

Of course, this fee is about ensuring that they are verified and able to control their content but no, this should be done for free because we like to complain!

I never thought I’d hope for someone to die by suicide, but I can only see two ways for that “People are going to die” twit to make it true, and I detest murder far more than suicide.

Remember the name whenever you need to choose an accountant. Unless you think it does not matter whether an accountant is plugged into reality, you do _not_ want Julie Meiner.

Oddly enough, everyone I’ve seen so far screeching about blue check marks and threatening to leave twitter like Midler and Milano are people I hope to never hear from again.

Another Grand Master Move by Musk to save us from their mind numbing stupidity.
