Mike Pompeo Will Not Run for President in 2024

“And frankly, this race, I hope, isn’t about people. I hope it’s about these ideas.”

Meant to get this up sooner. I had to run out and get a new laptop!

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Fox News that he will not run for president in 2024:

“I have made a decision,” he said. “[We] have prayerfully come to the conclusion we are not going to join the race in 2024. While we care deeply about America and the issues I’ve been talking about for the past year-and-half – and frankly for decades – matter an awful lot, this isn’t our moment.”

Pompeo was asked if the presence of his former boss, ex-President Donald Trump, in the race added any weight to his decision, he said it has not – later adding he plans to absolutely support the eventual GOP nominee.

“No, not at all. This is a deeply personal decision for Susan and me and our son, Nick and his wife, Rachel,” Pompeo said, adding the GOP needs to focus on policy not personality.

“It wasn’t about what this would look like. And frankly, this race, I hope, isn’t about people. I hope it’s about these ideas.”

But I think we all saw this one coming…

He would make a good Sec of State again. Maybe with Cotton as Sec of Defense. Or vice versa. Goodbye woke!

He had no chance. Good VP tho’ ?

He talked it over with all 15 of his loyal core voters and agreed they couldn’t pull in enough donors to make a good grift out of it.

His decision not to enter the race knowing he can’t win ironically is evidence he would be a good president.

First thing I thought of as well. I will give him credit for being able to read the tea leaves, and he did have the backbone needed to be a strong Secretary of State. But no more spooks in the White House.

I know what you mean but I’m afraid the spooks will be there to greet the next President and the next.

Pompeo is NOT a spook. He was CIA director, which means he has NO history with the CIA at all. Calling him CIA is just as stupid and false as calling Bush Sr CIA. The CIA hated Bush and hates Pompeo.

Probably couldn’t garner enough money would be my guess

Good for him. This confirms that he is not an abject moron. His chance of winning will always be negative.

Everyone in the race now, except for Trump, is really running for VP. I think Pompeo would make a good one. But his chance for that does not disappear just because he withdraws now.

Pompeo’s comment about ideas over people is good – possibly the only way the Republicans can win. With Trump in the race that will not happen. Even Trump’s commercial against DeSantis now running on TV advocates incorrect policy – do nothing about Social Security running out of money – and is just plain nasty.

“do nothing about Social Security running out of money”

This just a flat out lie, or stupidity squared.

You fix social security, and many of our economic ills, one way only –

You grow the economy, something Trump was doing and it was taking off. They had to stop him lest the average American learn it wasn’t so difficult if you just put Americans first.

Mike who?

If we’re going to have an article about everybody who won’t be running for president, it’s going to be a long browse.

I like the name CAVPAC. Elect us and we’ll cave for you.
