Violent Antifa-Style Protest Shuts Down Pro-Life Student Meeting at Virginia Commonwealth University

A meeting of a pro-life student group at Virginia Commonwealth University was shut down this week when it was invaded by far left protesters using violent, Antifa-style tactics.
In the video below, you can see that the pro-life students were having a peaceful meeting until the protests began and quickly got out of control. You can also see the pro-life students pleading with security to do something about it until the event is shut down.
In an ultimate twist of injustice, the pro-life students claim they were detained while the protesters were free to leave.

Reported Antifa members stormed a pro-life meeting at Virginia Commonwealth University, shouting at pro-lifers and ultimately resulting in two arrests and the event getting shut down.
“We will not be deterred. The Pro-Life Generation has come to expect these sort of things and we will be back to attempt what we tried to attempt this evening, a productive, peaceful conversation,” Students for Life posted in a caption on an Instagram video showing the incident, which was provided to Fox News Digital.
Students for Life at VCU, an affiliate of the national pro-life organization, was set up to hold a meeting on Wednesday evening featuring discussion from the group’s president Kristan Hawkins and TPUSA contributor Isabel Brown.
But the event soon became unruly and devolved into protesters chanting, “Fascists go home” and “F— pro-life,” while holding signs in support of abortion.
The pro-life group is taking issue with how school police handled the matter, and asked on the group’s Instagram post: “When will law enforcement begin to take threats against pro-lifers seriously?”
“At first, we were taken from the room by campus and city police, and it seemed like it was for our protection, but as it went on, we realized that we were being detained and the protesters were free to go,” Hawkins told Fox News Digital of how the disruption played out.
At least 12 pro-lifers were detained for more than two hours, according to Students for Life, with Hawkings adding, “Police did not walk us to our cars, and we had to walk through some of the protesters to leave.”

This is one of the main reasons that taxpayers should never agree to fund ‘free’ college. Half of the country is treated with open hostility on college campuses.

Antifa in the 1930’s was international socialism and the SA national socialists…. so your blend is appropriate. Those that cherish freedom will have to punch back above the weight of them… which is tough with tens of millions of bucks and the Feds behind them. Canning the top of the admin and working down is the only way to put an end to this. The mob has to FEAR reprisals and they don’t.
Soft diplomacy also works, where it works.
Force ( * – of a different kind) on force, where that’s what’s left. Hard rhetoric where that fits best. For sure, I enjoy calling they-don’t-know-they’re-Nazis by the label that fits. Their glitching is delightful.
“International socialism” reminded me of a soft way in, that works sometimes. If the conversation goes to “It’s not a movement,”, like in RE: Antifu-fu-fu… you can introduce “The Internationale.”

I hope that the duly elected governor of Virginia will order a full investigation into this. University admins and police who are unwilling to protect the constitutional rights of citizens should not be allowed to continue to work for the government.
This is absurd. It could be over in 2 weeks with expulsions…but instead the university heads see themselves a mini-maos in front of the red guard.
Some portion of those involved were not students, so expulsion would be sort of meaningless.
It would teach actual students their limitations.

Virginia has a very big election this year. The entire legislature is up, in new districts. This will be the ultimate test for Governor Youngkin – can he win a majority in both Houses?
This hecklers veto crap is going to have to be confronted by a determined administration. Likely that determination is going to need to be provided to the spineless univ admin by the State Legislature, Alumni threatening to withdraw funds.
Getting harder to legitimately argue that blue collar taxpayers must continue to subsidize the Universities with appeals about the importance of academic ideal when the Universities can’t provide the most basic ideal; free speech, open exchange of ideas and open debate.
Much like what is going on at Stanford? Enough Alumni and others put enough pressure on them that instead of trying to ignore it and sweep it under the rug they finally had to suspend that DEI lady and are going to have classes for the kids emphasizing their policy on free speech so there is no misunderstanding and then suspend or expel any who break it.
If Colleges and Universities would grow a spine and immediately has the disruptors arrested and all identified students immediately expelled this nonsense will go on.

Looking at those pictures brings another issue to mind.
When are we as a society going to recognize that the covid excuse for wearing masks in violent protests is past its use by date? When are we going to admit the obvious fact that the masks are being employed specifically to allow them to commit their violence anonymously? When will we start enforcing laws regarding exactly that which have been on the books for many years?
Even California, possibly the most leftwing and pro-criminal of all states has a law regarding face masks used in that manner:
