Stanford University Employee Charged for Two False Rape Reports

Stanford University Employee Charged for Two False Rape Reports

“charged with two felony counts of perjury and two misdemeanor counts of making a false crime report to nurses at two different hospitals”

A Stanford University employee has been charged after it was found that the two rapes she has reported over the last year didn’t happen. To make matters worse, it looks like she was trying to ruin the life of a fellow employee who she didn’t like.

KTVU News has details:

Stanford University employee charged with lying about campus rapes

A Stanford University employee who claimed that she was raped twice on campus was charged with lying about the alleged sexual assaults, prosecutors said.

Authorities unearthed alleged evidence showing that Jennifer Ann Gries made up the bogus accusations about a co-worker whom she also falsely claimed to be dating.

Gries, 25, told county sexual assault forensic exam nurses on Aug. 9 that she had been attacked by a Black man in his 20s in the Wilbur parking garage on campus.

Gries, a Stanford Housing Services employee, told nurses, “‘He grabbed both my arms, had me on the ground facing up. He told me not to scream.'”

Then two months later, on Oct. 7, Gries, reported being attacked again by a Black man in a storage closet. She alleged that after returning to her office from lunch, an unknown man grabbed her arm and took her into a basement storage closet where he raped her, according to charging documents.

She described the assailant as a Black man in his late 20s.

The reported attacks triggered campus-wide safety alerts and campus unrest, prosecutors said.

Here’s a video report:

ABC News has more:

In January, during an interview with a District Attorney’s Office investigator, Gries is said to have admitted to lying about the rapes and written an apology letter to the man who was the target of her allegations.

“She stated she was upset with the victim because she felt he gave her ‘false intention’ and turned her friends against her,” prosecutors said.

Gries was charged with two felony counts of perjury and two misdemeanor counts of making a false crime report to nurses at two different hospitals, prosecutors said. It was not immediately known if she had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

In a statement, Stanford said Gries was placed on a leave of absence and the university “will be reviewing her employment.”

“These false reports are damaging, both for true survivors of sexual assault and for the members of our community who experienced fear and alarm from the reports,” the university said, while adding that false reports in sexual assault cases are rare.

Schools take rape allegations very seriously and this employee had to know that. What kind of person makes false claims like these?

I wish the punishment would be the average of what the man would have likely had to have served. It’d serve her right.

This needs to happen. False witness needs to be punished with the same sentence the accused would have received or did receive. And I would go with the max of any sentencing guidelines. Period.

Feminists will never let that happen. They could care less if innocent men go to jail for decades….most of them hate men. But if innocent men are locked up for false rape charges, that is a price they are willing to pay to ensure that all women come forward with their rape stories, true or not.

Look like a black-on-black hate crime, but honestly, I can’t tell. You call it.

Yes, that’s what they’re concerned about, not the actual victim.

while adding that false reports in sexual assault cases are rare.

Ah, yes, the obligatory statement of faith. #believeallwomen, even when they lie, because that’s just a freak occurrence that almost never really happens.

Says who??? What is the evidence that it’s even uncommon, let alone rare? Considering how difficult it is for false accusers to be caught, let alone charged, cases like this must be a tiny fraction of the total number of false accusations, and yet consider how frequently even that seems to happen.

Now consider that the same people who tell us this also tell us that domestic violence by women is rare. This is not true; every study for 50 years has shown that it’s 50-50. And now consider that the very same people also tell us that false reports by children (or by adults alleging that something happened when they were children) are also rare.

This also makes a rape* accusation an act of societal judgment, instead of a legal one. Make the accusation (then cite “trauma” and such as to why you won’t actually press charges) then let it sit and fester in public. It’s good that men are starting to push back against this and file defamation lawsuits.

(* This is also why “sexual assault” is such a happenin’ thing nowadays. It’s much harder to prove “sexual assault” as it’s been defined in culture, and even re-defined to some extent in law. Most places rape wouldn’t be prosecuted if there was any evidence the woman was willing at any point. So it started getting pushed into that broader category.)

You beat me to it. It’s unfathomable to me that even in this progressive woke nonsense era that they couldn’t manage to apologize to the direct victim.

My only possible thought is that they weren’t allowed to for legal reasons in the fear that he might be suing the bejesus out of them (which he rightfully should!).

Absolutely correct there sir. And it will continue until the liars are prosecuted.

ditto….I was a Police Commissioner for a number of years, and rape and assault claims that are hoaxes are far too common, while punishment of actual stranger rapists far to rare.

She needs to go to prison – for a long, long time.

Do you think she will receive the same no-nonsense law prosecution as Jussie Smollett?

That’s pretty harsh. Can’t we just handle her like Ray Epps or Hunter Biden?

Shout out to rape culture, witch hunts, warlock trials, babies… “burdens” aborted, recycled, sequestered.

Her point is that it happens, and in the interest of DIEversity (i.e. color judgments and class-based bigotry, inequity, exclusion), it is ethical to lecture to a captive audience on articles of plausibility, not probability, and unrealized actions.

Anyone who thinks this is an isolated incident needs to educate themselves.

There are some success stories though.

What kind of person makes false claims like these?
A manipulative one. Which is part of human nature – something ignored by Progressives (feminists) when they claim “Trust all women.”

(Also ignoring human nature of the biological sort when they can’t define a woman.)

Get out of your ivory towers and go have a few beers with some street cops and detectives. Nothing, nothing is worse than rape, but over HALF of all accusations are false. Firstly, the false accuser is almost never prosecuted. Even if prosecuted, she will not got to jail, but get some deal that expunges her record in a year or two. A lot of bad or lazy cops will allow an obviously phony accusation to move forward in order to not incur the wrath of feminists and wash their hands of the matter. It is the ultimate weapon for a spiteful and vengeful woman. It’s even worse if a young man has consensual sex with a college girl who later has buyer’s remorse. That poor sod hasn’t the chance of a snowball in hell. No, you won’t find that statistic published. Like a lot of true things it is ruthlessly suppressed.

Making false allegations must begin receiving a far higher level of punishment to create something of a deterrent. The propaganda about the number of rapes v the actual occurrence is astounding. The conflation of every possible negative encounter between men and women with any sexual element; even cat calling, into a ‘sexual assault’ which are further conflated as rape is not creating a healthy society. Instead words are violence, cat calling is rape and people that don’t use the new expansive, lefty definitions that pad the stats begin to believe all men are rapists.

Stanford will say this is an opportunity for “courageous conversations.”

Believe all women

Women never lie

Twitter seems to have found a picture of this bitch. Why am I not surprised that she is associated with the law school?

That second link still goes to Twitter, FYI.

I can’t tell because I have twitter and I’m not doing all of that delete cookie crap, but unless it’s changed it goes to a storage site for a twitter image. It does not take you through a login wall that twitter sometimes requires for tweet links.

I gave up on the delete cookie crap when someone pointed out to me it was way faster and lasted longer just to click the “sure, log me in” button followed by the “go away X.”

Aaah….she’s black. Well, that confirms she will never see a day in jail, and at most be told she has to ‘apologize’: “I’m sorry i tried to put you in prison for decades by lying that you raped me….can’t we all just get along?”

Makes me think of “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

Search engines try to hide these. Found in the past but can not find now. In-depth studies by the Denver, CO prosecutor’s office and the Air Force legal bureau discovered that upwards of 60% of ALL accusations by females against males for ALL crimes were determined to have been fabrications.

A commonality among the lies was that females were using law enforcement and the legal system as a weapon of retribution for slights both real and imagined. Some cases appeared to have a desire for wealth accumulation as a goal. These have a civil case following the hoped for criminal case to support the civil case.

Generally, it pays to never ever believe a female. Females also use non-affiliated males as weapons such as when a gal informs a boyfriend or husband or father or whatever that a male did this or that to her. In one instance a cheating wife in Tennessee told her suspicious husband that the high school boy next door had raped her. He shot and killed the kid. Investigation led to his being tried for first-degree murder and she was charged with a far less crime (typical treatment for females in our perverted sick legal system) for lying about the kid in an attempt to cover her cheating ways.

I absolutely despise rapists, but i hate women like this even more. She was more than willing to let a man go to prison for decades simply because she didn’t like him. Now watch, as next to nothing happens to her, other than being fired. She should get the exact same sentence that he would have got had he been convicted of raping her. But because nothing happens to them, there is little incentive for women not to falsely accuse men of rape, for whatever reason

I’m still trying to figure out how this farce was allowed to turn into such a shatstorm when they apparently never bothered to get a positive rape kit result on her.

One would think it prudent to prove that a crime actually occurred before causing all the stress on campus. Or even more damning, before she was received two cash awards from the California Victim of Crimes Board.

They are trying very hard to turn another revered institution into an unflushed used toilet.
