Liz Cheney Joining University of Virginia’s Center for Politics as ‘Professor of Practice’
“There are many threats facing our system of government and I hope my work with the Center for Politics and the broader community at the University of Virginia will contribute to finding lasting solutions that not only preserve but strengthen our democracy.”
Former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney is joining the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics effective immediately. She’ll be a professor of practice, which “is an academic appointment made to a member of a profession associated with a university and engages in professional students’ practical instruction.”
That means Cheney will be “in charge of facilitating discussions and activities in adherence to a curriculum.” She can also help with “developing lesson plans, creating coursework assessment and test structures, liaising with internal and external parties, establishing objectives and guidelines, monitoring the students’ progress, and providing assistance as needed.”
Now-Rep. Harriet Hageman demolished Cheney in the Republican primary last year. Cheney became an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump, even participating as the Vice Chair of the January 6th Committee.
Cheney’s statement proves she hasn’t lost her delusions of grandeur:
“I am delighted to be joining the UVA Center for Politics as a Professor of Practice. Preserving our constitutional republic is the most important work of our time, and our nation’s young people will play a crucial role in this effort. I look forward to working with students and colleagues at the Center to advance the important work they and others at the University of Virginia are doing to improve the health of democracy here and around the world,” said Cheney. “There are many threats facing our system of government and I hope my work with the Center for Politics and the broader community at the University of Virginia will contribute to finding lasting solutions that not only preserve but strengthen our democracy.”
Professor Larry Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics, is also anti-Trump. He gushed over Cheney: “With democracy under fire in this country and elsewhere around the world, Liz Cheney serves as a model of political courage and leadership. Liz will send a compelling message to students about integrity. She’s a true profile in courage, and she was willing to pay the price for her principles — and democracy itself.”
Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, graduated from high school in Virginia so she’s not a stranger to the state.
Cheney is also not a stranger to the Center for Politics since she participated with them “in a national forum on the first anniversary of the Capitol insurrection, which is available on the Center’s YouTube channel, UVACFP.”

That’s pretty clever. Create a position the duties of which are so unclear that criticism is impossible.
Put her in charge of the machine that goes PING!!!!
This is just a stepping stone towards their creation of a Department of Karen, where she will be the obvious choice for Chair.
“Professor of Practice”. Sounds like a job you can show up to dressed in gym sweats. She’s just a practicing professor, not a real one. Probably doesn’t even have to show up. She can practice at home.
It assumed it indicated that she has life experience but no other actual qualifications.
I understand the college has similar professorships open in their Law, Economics, History, and Health and Safety Departments.
So far, the front runners are Mike Avenatti, Sam Bankman-Fried, Mike Bellesiles*, and Alec Baldwin.
*(Nikole Hannah Jones was already taken.)
Well she can’t go back to Wyoming.
I am disappointed that she will stay in VA and continue the ruination of higher ed there.
The aim of the woke is to prove that they’re even better than their competitor at not noticing things.
Will it be like Biden’s high-paying no-show job at UPENN? or many other political no-show jobs?
Only if $60,000,000 is involved
“I am delighted to be joining the UVA Center for Political Propaganda as a Professor of Practice”
There, Liz. Fixed it for ya.
I can’t wait to see the promotional material for her new course.
“Come learn how to be a great success in politics, just like our professor!”
“preserve but strengthen our democracy’?
Our government and Vichy turncoats like her have shot the bottom from under our democracy. Let’s just ignore her and work on rebuilding our Republic.
Malpractice would be closer.
So not University of Wyoming? Curious, that she’s not going back to the state she claimed to represent.
Lest there be any doubt about her leftist core, she takes an academic job in Virginia.
Prediction: Liz officially switches parties in less than two years.
Sorry Mary. but I have to take offence of you term Capitol “Insurrection.” How many insurrections have you seen where the participants did not have arms?? Perhaps, riot would be more appropriate.
That wasn’t her that was literally quoted from the article.
Quotation means it is somebody else speaking.
How much Yen is being donated to University of Virginia’s Center of Politics?
Leftists sure know how to pay off their elite
So Japan is up to no good? Yuan you think of it… the CCP might be.
The Grift goes on…
and the Grit goes on…
Well I was going to say that “If anyone needed the practice it was her!”, but then I read this.
will contribute to finding lasting solutions that not only preserve but strengthen our democracy.”
How can you be a professor of politics and not even know the system of government that your country has. The USA has never been a Democracy.
