UN Inspectors Find Weapons-Grade Uranium at Iran Nuke Site

UN Inspectors Find Weapons-Grade Uranium at Iran Nuke Site

Times of London: “Inspectors from the United Nations have found traces of uranium enriched to near-weapons grade at a site connected to Iran’s nuclear programme.”

As President Joe Biden admits his failure to restore the 2015 Iran deal, the Shia-Islamic regime is on the cusp of building a nuclear bomb. According to the UN watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Tehran is enriching near-weapons-grade uranium needed for a nuclear bomb.

The UN nuclear inspectors “found traces of uranium enriched to near-weapons grade at a site connected to Iran’s nuclear programme,” the Times of London disclosed Monday.

While the Biden State Department conducted lengthy negotiations in hopes of cutting a nuclear deal with Tehran, the regime has been raising its uranium stockpile. “Uranium enriched to 60% levels of purity swelled during nuclear talks,” Bloomberg reported while breaking the story.

Bloomberg added:

International atomic monitors in Iran have detected uranium enriched to levels just below nuclear weapons-grade, risking an escalation over Tehran’s expanding program.

The International Atomic Energy Agency is trying to clarify how Iran accumulated uranium enriched to 84% purity — the highest level found by inspectors in the country to date, and a concentration just 6% below what’s needed for a weapon

The development was reported by Bloomberg on Sunday, citing two senior diplomats. Iran had previously told the IAEA that its centrifuges were configured to enrich uranium to a 60% level of purity. (…)

Inspectors need to determine whether Iran intentionally produced the material, or whether the concentration was an unintended accumulation within the network of pipes connecting the hundreds of fast-spinning centrifuges used to separate the isotopes. It’s the second time this month that monitors have detected suspicious enrichment-related activities.

Uranium enriched to 60% levels of purity swelled during nuclear talks.

In an interview on Jan. 23 the US’s envoy for Iran, Robert Malley, said Tehran was “only a handful of weeks away from having enough weapons grade uranium” but taking the further step of developing an actual weapon is “a different matter” and so far the US had no evidence of it.

Western diplomatic sources backed the revelations made by the UN nuclear watchdog. “Iran has taken a major step towards acquiring a nuclear weapon, it emerged on Sunday, as diplomats revealed that it has enriched uranium to levels just short of the threshold for a bomb,” the British newspaper Telegraph reported Tuesday.

Biden Admin Admits Obama-Era Deal Dead

With fresh evidence of Iranian nuclear treachery, Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken came close to admitting that the Obama-era deal was dead. “Blinken accused Tehran of failing to engage and said the JCPOA was not on the table now,” Reuters reported Tuesday.

Reuters covered Secretary Blinken’s comments:

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday it was up to Iran to engage to resolve a deadlock over its nuclear programme, and accused it of enabling Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Blinken, who was visiting Athens, said the United States was committed, together with Israel, to ensuring that Tehran “never acquire a nuclear weapon”.

“That’s not exactly news. The president (Joe Biden) has been very clear that every option is on the table to do that,” Blinken told a news conference alongside his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias.

Blinken accused Tehran of failing to engage and said the JCPOA was not on the table now.

“We continue to believe that, with regard to the nuclear programme, the most effective, sustainable way to deal with the challenge it poses is through diplomacy. But in this moment, those efforts are on the backburner because Iran is simply not engaged in a meaningful way,” Blinken said.

“A lot depends on what Iran says and does and whether or not it engages.”

Israel Ramping Up Strike Capabilities Against Iran’s Nuke Program

With President Biden bumbling into another foreign policy failure, Israel is working on a military option to destroy Iran’s secret (largely fortified and underground) nuclear infrastructure.

Israeli news reports said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is getting close to signing a deal with Boeing to procure F-15IA jets and KC-46 refueling tankers. Acquiring U.S.-made refueling aircraft will enhance Israel’s ability to carry out long-range bombing raids.

The Times of Israel reported Monday:

The chief of the Boeing aircraft manufacturer’s defense wing was in Israel on Sunday and Monday to advance the supply of new, long-awaited refueling planes and fighter jets for the Israeli Air Force looking to boost its capabilities to strike Iran.

Speaking to reporters at the Boeing Israel offices in Tel Aviv, Ted Colbert, the Boeing Defense, Space and Security President and CEO said the company would be supplying Israel with 25 F-15IA fighter jets — the Israeli variant of the advanced F-15EX — with options for 25 more.

The military is looking to both add to and upgrade its existing fleet of F-15s, which can carry the kind of heavy weapons Israel would need to penetrate Iran’s nuclear sites, most of which are buried deep underground.

The hell you say. Who saw this coming?

Everybody. Just some didn’t admit it and won’t admit it now.

Exactly. Our establishment/credentialed/leadership class pretending not to know things until the moment of crisis arises. See National debt, budget deficit, several decades of asset prices propped up by historically cheap borrowing costs, gutting domestic manufacturers and fossil fuels all to further globalism.

Suddenly though the real world intervened into the utopian fantasy. Covid, Ukraine, energy shortage, supply chain interruption, transport costs, food shortages and famine in some places, rampant inflation, severe loss of trust in govt and media, unexplained rise in deaths among jab population.

On and on, the real world always intervenes and there isn’t a whole lot of capacity in our system to absorb future problems. The providential societal/cultural surplus capital created over centuries has been spent on boondoggles, cronyism and foolishness. When the music stops, and someday it will, be sure you have a chair reserved.

Anyone and everyone that was honest and paying attention.

Such a conundrum. If your strategy is to kick the hard thing down the road, what happens when you get elected some more, so you’re there when it blows up. (Sorry. That was probably triggering. Doh! there I go again.)

Poor Barry. So many chickens come home to roost during his third term. It’s that Bad Orange Man’s fault. {“Chickens” — dammit.) Had they done the third term immediately with the poster child for “unelectable” as planned, The Feckless R’s would be in charge right now, when the temporizing starts failing.

Wow, it’s not like they haven’t been warned about this for DECADES…

Our “adults in the room” are — as always — operating at the intellectual level of unexpectedly pregnant high-schoolers.

No kidding…they need to check and see if this was “unintended enrichment?” YGBFSM!

      Laughable.

Like this ever stopped, the only variable is time.

Find Weapons-Grade Uranium
uranium enriched to near-weapons grade
OK, I’m not a fan of Islamist Iran, nor of them having nukes. But those two statements are not the same. “Near weapons grade” =/= “weapons grade.”

Courtesy of Obama. Would not be surprised to see him on an Iranian postage stamp.

Inspectors need to determine whether Iran intentionally produced the material,

why does that matter?–it’s either there or it’s not–if it is, it didn’t just appear out of thin air–come on

besides the iranians themselves, of all the other folks on this planet would bet the israelis are the most likely to KNOW

would like to have the striping contract on all those iranian parking lots

In the big picture, I’ not sure that’s a change in the threat to Israel. Haven’t read about this subject recently but, IIRC, under previous agreements, Iran was permitted to enrich U235 up tp 20%, for “research” purposes. Again, from memory, 20% enrichment, as far as total “effort” to reach weapons grade U235, is ~95% there.. Likely that they are very close, (already there?) for enough U235 for a “little Boy” type device.

Someone needs to give the GPS coordinates of that site to Israel.

“Blinken accused Tehran of failing to engage and said the JCPOA was not on the table now,” Reuters reported Tuesday.

OMFG! That is hilarious. What possible reason would Tehran want to “engage” with the U.S. government over the JCPOA. They’ve got nothing to gain by engaging or rejoining the JCPOA and everything to gain by telling the Biden regime to eff off.

Long, long ago when the world was new, and the armed forces of the West understood and encouraged the concept of efficiently defeating, I started my writing sideline doing articles for professional military and naval journals. One of those journals bought one of my articles where I postulated who and how we could deal with such a situation. They paid me for it . . . but did not publish it. I bet that said solution is in somebody’s files, and that others could figure it out on their own.

Israel has a host of subs … Rumor has it equipped with nuclear cruise missiles … Any bets there is always at least 1 within striking range of those crazy Assholes in Tehran

Israel deserves enormous credit for its bold spying operations that exposed this stuff, years ago. Not that the vile Dhimmi-crats and European Leftist dhimmis — who never met an Islamic despot or terrorist group that they didn’t want to enable, coddle and whitewash — gave a damn about that and paid it any heed.

Well, Israel has a complete nuclear deterrent triad these days, plus anti-ballistic point defenses.

I think other people ought to worry more. The extremist jihadists might be eager to meet the houris, but the mullahs seem not so enthusiastic. AIR every EU capitol is in the speculated range of Iranian ballistics. How’s Turkey’s relationship with Iran these days?

I am shocked to find gambling at the casino.
