Rasmussen Reports Warns GOP: Biden Leads Trump Slightly in New Poll

“According to the new poll released Wednesday through Rasmussen Reports, Biden is running three points ahead of Trump, 45%-42%.”

Rasmussen Reports is warning the GOP that Biden has a slight edge over Trump in one of their most recent polls. The 2024 election is still way off, but this is something that Republicans have to consider.

Remembering that Rasmussen is a fairly Trump-friendly polling outfit is also important.

Newsmax has details:

Rasmussen Poll: Biden Over Trump in Hypothetical ’24 Rematch

A new poll from Rasmussen Reports finds that President Joe Biden is slightly ahead of former President Donald Trump in a “hypothetical” 2024 rematch of the 2020 race.

According to the new poll released Wednesday through Rasmussen Reports, Biden is running three points ahead of Trump, 45%-42%.

Eleven percent of those surveyed said they would vote for another candidate, and 2% said they were not sure who they would support.

The survey was conducted Feb. 8-9, and 12 by Pulse Opinion Research LLC with 900 likely U.S. voters and has a margin of error of +/-3 percentage points, according to the organization.

The numbers flip if Trump were to face Vice President Kamala Harris, with Trump leading 45%-42% and 11% saying they would vote for a different candidate.

According to Rasmussen, the poll shows an increase of support for Biden compared to January 2022 where Trump led the poll over Biden 46%-41%.

According to the poll, 82% of Democrats support Biden with 74% of Republicans backing Trump.

Fifty-two percent of those surveyed were female compared to 48% male, and 66% were white compared to 13% Black and 21% listed as “other.”

The majority, 47%, were between 40-64 years of age; 31% were 18-39; and 22% were over age 65.

Rasmussen’s head pollster breaks it down in this video:

Again, the 2024 election is still many months away and these numbers can change completely between now and then. Also, as we all know, polling numbers must be taken with a grain of salt.

We are fucked aren’t in 🤔 Given all the absolute fuckery Biden and his Junta have been up to its utterly amazing that there are people even considering looking at Biden and Democrats.

Quite literally Democrats could kill black babies and the polls will still magically sway in Democrats favour 🙄

Democrats started most of the wars in the 20th and 21st centuries, including Obama/Biden’s World War Spring series (e.g. second Iraq war) and CAIR. They gave us Obamacares and other single/central/monopolistic solutions forcing progressive prices (“shared responsibility”) in medical, academic, housing industries. Democracy dies with Democrats. Demos-cracy is Planned at the twilight fringe.

All’s fair in lust and abortion, I suppose.

Danny in reply to mailman. | February 16, 2023 at 9:07 pm

Elections that feature over 90% of black people vote for Democrats.

We don’t have to pick Trump (who simply can not win) we have viable candidates (DeSantis) who would be able to defeat Biden.

We are only fed if we chose Trump.

I wonder what the poll results would be if based on electoral votes.

Really? A majority of Americans wanted a proven mental retard as POTUS?

How about posting the polls that show Trump WINNING against all comers? Besides, why are we now trusting polls, especially this early in the game? We don’t have anything more important to discuss report? Like FJB has scheduled a presser to address the country about the UFOs/balloons… probably including comments from his Secretary of the Department of Ufology Giorgio Tsoukalos?

Start with 3 assumptions and polls now are a waste of time and money. People do not want roughly 80 year old choices, Trump can’t beat Biden and Harris can’t beat anyone. That means you only get an interesting, poll-worthy race when you have something like DeSantis versus Newsom. As an aside, I think Nikki Haley is running to be Trump’s VP, on the grounds that she would look fabulous against incoherent Harris and at least good against any Harris replacement.

    healthguyfsu in reply to jb4. | February 16, 2023 at 12:35 pm

Haley is dumber than I thought if she is running to be Trump’s VP

    mailman in reply to jb4. | February 16, 2023 at 4:05 pm

It will come down to voting for one of two Presidential candidates, Trump or Biden. Their age is irrelevant as you are not going to be choosing between anyone younger.

But you know, this is just a new twist on the old “if only Republicans would run more moderate candidates” bullshit 😂😂

This isn’t a warning to the GOP. It is a revelation to the GOP that the country has moved completely to the Left and it doesn’t matter who they put up, the majority of Americans prefer decline to growth.

Conservatives have got to stop playing this stupid political game and begin to plan accordingly.

Like keep playing the same old LOTE game of surrendering by seeking the “middle ground”?

You are wrong. America has NOT moved completely to the left. The corrupt elites and their corrupt toadies in the establishment government. The majority of voters didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 and 2020 because MAGA was a wink and nod signal for Marxism. (Oops, can’t say things like that around here. There was absolutely no evidence of voter fraud. Yep. You bet. It’s the only conspiracy theory, the one at the core of all others, that turns out not to be true. Yep. Sure.)

chrisboltssr in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 11:59 am

You’ll get to the point where you recognize the country has moved to the Left.

I live in CA and am surrounded by lefties. However, because I don’t live in isolation in any echo chambers, I can see change happening and “the left” is not as resolute as you think. That is where Trump’s major support from the “sensible middle” that constitutes the fastest growing component of us disgruntled unaffiliated independents comes from. Those of us who realized long ago that there is only one party pushing two competing lists of lies and however you vote, we end up in the same place. Further and further left.

And now we are supposed to go with “Trump without the baggage DeSantis” who is being funded by the same dirty money that funds the Uniparty? If DeSantis proves to be a snake in the grass, believe me, he will not be getting most of the MAGA vote. We don’t hold our noses to vote for the LOTI.

Election are won in the primaries in this country. If the Uniparty controls both candidates, we already lost so stop pretending. The voting in this country is rigged and DeSantis is seen palling around with a Dominion executive? Wake up.

healthguyfsu in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 12:33 pm

So these lefties (of the “sensible middle”) that your limited anedotal evidence is attempting to wishcast into existence are the true conservatives that vote for Trump now in your logic??

You can say you “see change happening” but CA is not going to vote for Trump.

So, the far right is somehow aligned with the far left into a uniparty now??

You can’t even keep up with the whims on which your flimsy logic flails.

Nothing more fallible than baking the conclusion into the premise such as this:
“Election are won in the primaries in this country. If the Uniparty controls both candidates, we already lost so stop pretending.”

Your argument couldn’t stand in a stiff breeze.

Stiff breezes in echo chambers like LI don’t matter. You idiots still believe that Republicans won in 2016. Wrong! Tea Party won! People like you are hopelessly trapped in your mazes and echo chambers and aren’t even open to the truth. It’s NOT Democrat vs Republican nor liberal vs conservative (whatever THAT is). It’s MAGA vs the corrupt establishment. Hello? Is anyone home? How long will it take you neocons to figure that out?

healthguyfsu in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 12:49 pm

          Phil,

You are a proven moron at this point.

You just made up some California dreamin fantasy about causcusing with a “sensible middle”.

Newsflash: any middle ground in this country would include a ton of “neocons”. I’m 99% sure at this point that you don’t even know what the term means.

The middle of the country is not deeply conservative…sad to say. Life would actually be easier with that much limitation on govt power and spending. But both Trump and Biden overdid it on both of those, just with different motives.

Colonel Travis in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 1:21 pm

I don’t live in California and believe chrisboltssr is correct. If the country were moving to the right, or even standing pat, you wouldn’t see in breakdown of our culture every single day. You may be used to it by now because of where you are. I’m not used to it and it’s troubling.

@heatlhguyfl: you just hang out in your cozy echo chamber where reality is filtered out. You need to get out more and start talking with people who may not share your politics but feel every bit as angry about what it going on in this country. The idea that you have to be a Republican to be a sensible patriot is just plain ignorant. It’s that kind of thinking that keeps your little neocon cult shrinking. There are fewer and fewer people like you remaining and I know a lot of liberals who will vote for Trump next time for the same reason I will: he is the only candidate fighting the big war on the global battlefield. Our global enemies don’t care about Dems, Republicans, liberals or conservatives. This isn’t a global debate. We are fighting for our lives and the only one who has been engaged in the fight since 2016 is Trump. It’s that simple…. unless of course you take your Uniparty propaganda intravenously and are determined to live in a fog of ignorance.

inspectorudy in reply to chrisboltssr. | February 16, 2023 at 12:38 pm

I don’t think you are correct. If you look at the parents going to school board meetings to complain about what is being taught, that should tell you that they have not moved left. The msm controls most public discourse and they do not show the shock and dismay of the average person about what is going on today in our country. The last poll I saw on the border crisis about 75% thought it was a crisis and needed attention but the msm never shows this issue. Inflation is crushing us but the msm never discusses this issue. Young people are of concern because of their admiration for Socialism but I believe eventually they will see the light.

San Francisco impeached not only their school board but the district attorney. An Orange County city voted out most of their school board a couple of months ago too. And Rhode Island is arguable the most corrupt and liberal state in the country and see what is happening there?

So I agree. Pay no attention to the established narratives. McConnell did not succeed in extinguishing we Tea Party activists. No state is hopeless, only states like Texas who keep chanting “Nobody messes with Texas!” while surrounded by nothing buy sanctuary cities and living by the most open border and with a governor helping the invasion along like DeSantis by paying to spread the illegals throughout the country. Dissemination is a very important step in this invasion and these poseurs doing that work for the Uniparty.

healthguyfsu in reply to inspectorudy. | February 16, 2023 at 12:52 pm

It is a huge fundamental flaw in your logic that these voters will move en masse to vote conservative on that single issue in blue areas.

They will just shop through Dems that hit all of their other buttons and either go soft or altogether avoid DEI/CRT and/or confront border issues.

We’ve already reached the point where half of the nation is brainwashed. You don’t really have to be a rocket scientist to realize that Biden is half a bubble off center.

scooterjay in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 12:34 pm

I am convinced both sides cheat, and Hil got big mad cause Trump beat her at her own game.
Whatever was done to install FJB will be to our detriment for 30 years.

Keri Lake got robbed in AZ, particularly in Phoenix where the corruption was rampant and obvious and observed in person by a contingent of RNC attorneys led by Harmeet Dillon. But as soon as the voting stopped, they skedaddled and left Lake to carry the fight. And there are vote challenges being won in other states but you know how it is with George Soros and McConnell’s GOPe, “MOVE ON!!!”.

CommoChief in reply to Pasadena Phil. | February 16, 2023 at 5:10 pm

Agree with you here. Trump got about 10 million votes in 16 from Obama voters. There is a significant amount of shenanigans in our elections, beginning with voter registration lists.

Most people get heated about this but roughly 85% of the voters cast their ballot by tribe of their political party. The remainder sometimes vote, sometimes not. Some of them are political misfits who don’t fit into neat boxes with a party label, some are truly single issue voters who will vote against a candidate threatening their pet issue. Lots of others, libertarians, greens, even some actual commies and a very few real independent voters.

This 15% ish group is what determines elections. Appeal to them and they may vote for you, Piss them off and they will vote against you.

Does it tell you how fooked we are as a nation if almost half the country would re-elect a demented old man whose administration and policies have been nothing short of disastrous?

It makes me ill.

This assumes a rematch between the two. A rematch America can’t endure and does not need. Biden needs to go back to Delaware and join his veggie garden. Trump needs to go play golf. We can keep the Trumpism fight without the Trump.

“join his veggie garden” – fantastic

To pursue your point, both parties have people with TDS. The idea of some Republicans that no one else but Trump will do is just as dumb as the other party’s Trump is the devil incarnate.

“We can keep the Trumpism fight without the Trump.”

Reminds me of the chiropractor from Utah selling Balance of Nature, “If you don’t like eating real fruits and vegetables I can put them in a pill for you.”

Danny in reply to Paula. | February 16, 2023 at 9:10 pm

We could have Trump or we could win 2024 it isn’t both.

Trump has a 0% chance of winning, his record proves that.

Feb 14:
General Election: Trump vs. Biden Reuters/Ipsos Trump 42, Biden 39 Trump +3
General Election: DeSantis vs. Biden PPP (D) DeSantis 44, Biden 47 Biden +3

In other words, does hawking polls at this stage mean anything, or is the “warning” to the GOP (whatever that means) illusory?

No. It just solidifies all opinions among people who refuse to think for themselves. Follow the money. The dirty money does all of the voting and it isn’t going to Trump. There’s your narrative. How do we vote that? Pretty clear cut for me. Vote for “the baggage”.

One thing to keep in mind when looking at polls is to remember the effect the msm has on any election. If Trump is leading by +3 that is a number without the msm influence. There are estimates that the msm has about a 3 to 4% plus factor for any Dem candidate so that cancels out any small advantage to Trump. On top of that, Trump is hurting his own effort by going after a very popular governor that hasn’t even declared a run. Reagan had it right when he said “Speak no evil against a fellow Republican”. If he doesn’t stop this method of campaigning and switch to a how-to-solve-issues method he will not make it.

Trump has been putting forth policy initiatives, and just announced how he will confront the ballot harvesting, etc. used by Democrats. Just because the MSM and others want to exaggerate does not mean people have to buy it. The manipulation is rampant, and the reality is that most who obsess over Trump’s style want him become fake. His authenticity and transparency is something we need more of from our leaders, warts and all.

inspectorudy in reply to oldschooltwentysix. | February 16, 2023 at 5:29 pm

It’s hard to imagine people who live with headline news from their cell phones. That is all about 60 % of voters get their news from. If that is their source, it is no wonder that they still think Biden is a credible person. As for Trump’s “Style”, insulting and lying about his opponents is not style. It was shock and awe the first time but will not win the next time. He needs to come across as a fixer and not a hater if that means he is a fake, so be it.

POLL RIGGED BLARRRRRRRGH DEEP STATE SWAMP DESANTIS LOVERS RAAAAAAAAARGGHHH

At this point, these polls are all to shape public opinion not reflect it.

Operation Chaos is starting on time, Captain.

whatever

meh—- polls are click bait for sycophants like us.

I categorize it in the click bait of AOC says “….” …. no one with anything else to do really gives a rat’s marbles. Give me the sampling of who actually reads that- then show me the calendar of what they have going on in their day.

Ugh My 10:00 is about to start.

    Rasmussen is a conservative institution.

The evidence is 100% for Trump is highly unpopular and unwanted as president.

The thing about a Republic is the public is always right. The public doesn’t want Trump and we pick him we lose.

Reading the Rasmussen Report, I feel as though I’m on the table for a lower bowel inspection and the doctor has just decided he wants to take a look at the transverse colon as well – without anesthesia.

If we still prefer Biden over Trump, well, maybe a nuking wouldn’t be so bad

Never underestimate the stupidity of the average person, especially if this pedophile could actually win.

Trump just barely beat Hillary Clinton and then lost to Joe Biden. Everyone understand yet?

“Also, as we all know, polling numbers must be taken with a grain of salt.”
Then why bother with the article?

One comment these fools are on drugs!!!!!

Rasmusssen, then man, was an interesting speaker when he first hit national visibility. Their polls then were well constructed, like you’d do to develop new information, reliable for steering actual decisions.

The Rasmussen polling operation that still carries his name, was sold some years ago. It’s become a shallow push-polling operation, and why not. There’s money in it, and it beats working.
