Imperial College London Urges Students to Have ‘Hard Conversations’ With Friends and Family Who Deny White Privilege

A leading university was under fire last night for telling students to have ‘hard conversations’ with friends and family who deny white privilege.
Guidance from Imperial College London tells students to ‘understand that you have white privilege’ and to ‘educate others in your community’.
It adds: ‘If you have friends or family who take a different stance on these issues, now is the time to have a hard conversation with them and ask them to rethink their views.’
The university’s equality, diversity and inclusion page on its website also encourages students to ‘take action’ and become a ‘white ally’ by donating to the controversial Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement – a mission dedicated to ‘eradicating white supremacy’. BLM has faced a backlash over its far-Left demands, which include defunding the police.
The phrase ‘white privilege’ is used to describe the inherent advantages possessed by a white person on the basis of their race. It can apply where people are living under the same social, political or economic circumstances, or in a society where there is racial inequality.
A senior academic has warned that staff at Imperial are afraid to express concern over fears they will not get promoted or lose their job. John Armstrong, reader in financial mathematics at King’s College London, said the guidance has created an atmosphere of silence at the university. ‘People do not want to endanger their promotion prospects and come across as awkward,’ he said.
‘It just sets up an atmosphere where people feel it is safest not to talk about it, especially if they have contrary views.

If you want to see privilege, tour ANY government building. You will see women and people of color. Clear, undeniable ray scissim on display. The beneficiaries of this dishonest practice are the loudest deniers.
So? If you go to Saudi Arabia you get Arab Privilege. How ignorant can these whackos get?
Someone tried to have one of these hard, white privilege talks with me. “I figured it out” she said, “your whole family was murdered in the Holocaust because they were white. They were all white. Everybody in Europe is white. Murdering each other is what white Europeans do, it’s the culture.” I told her she’s in a cult.
The irony ( and ignorance) of the statement made to you by that person is that, according to Nazi race ideology, Jews, even European Jews, were/are NOT white.
Definitely a cult. A racist cult. There is no homogeneous white group. Every European nation is multi-ethnic, despite being white. Lumping people with white skin into a group and drawing conclusions based solely on that group identity is … racist.
If their family is paying tuition I hope they end the argument by cutting off tuition and financial support of their “privileged” child so their conscience can be assuaged….
This stupidity is not worthy of a comment.
Have that conversation if they want … but they better be ready to loose friends or family as a consequence. I’ve had the beginnings of that conversation three times … once it started the friendship lived on for another five minutes … maybe ten … then it was gone … and still is six plus years later.
