Capitol Police Arrest Ashli Babbitt’s Mother on Anniversary of Capitol Hill Riot

Babbitt is the only person killed during the riot.

The U.S. Capitol Police arrested Micki Witthoeft, mother of Ashli Babbitt, on Capitol grounds on the two-year anniversary of the Capitol Hill Riot.

Babbitt is the only person killed during the riot.

Lt. Michael Byrd fatally shot the unarmed Babbitt when she tried to force her way into the Capitol Building.

The police claimed Witthoeft committed traffic violations:

Capitol police said that a group of demonstrators were ‘illegally blocking traffic’ on Independence Avenue, SW, near First Street, SW.

‘The group did not have a permit to demonstrate on Capitol Grounds,’ the said in a statement released Friday afternoon.

Officers said that they established a clear police line to prevent the group from moving further east and asked the group to ‘get out of the road’ threatening their arrest.

‘The sidewalk was open, a woman in the group was given multiple warnings to get out of the road,’ police said.

‘Instead of getting out of the road, the woman refused to leave, turned around with her hands behind her back, and asked to be arrested.’

Witthoeft was arrested for two Capitol Traffic Regulations obey an order, as well as blocking and obstructing roadways.

Ashli Babbitt is one of TWO women
Killed That day at the Capital

TWO

Rosanne Boylan

She was trampled and murdered when CP bum rushed Trump
Supporters in a tunnel and then as people were trying
To help her up a CP woman was literally stomping on her head repeatedly and murdered her.

chrisboltssr in reply to gonzotx. | January 6, 2023 at 6:30 pm

Exactly. People think Ms. Boylan died of an OD, but she was beaten to death.

gonzotx in reply to chrisboltssr. | January 6, 2023 at 6:35 pm

Well she certainly was bear peppered sprayed repeatedly by the CP and
      Billy clubbed

henrybowman in reply to gonzotx. | January 6, 2023 at 7:29 pm

Police don’t use the bear version. The only reason to use the bear version against people is because the people version is outlawed to you (as it is in some states). The bear stuff is not as effective in people, no matter what “strength” it is.

gonzotx in reply to henrybowman. | January 6, 2023 at 7:41 pm

Well I do know they use stronger version that I can buy cause the PO in the ERs I worked were very glad of it

So I thought it was bear spray

Gamereg in reply to henrybowman. | January 6, 2023 at 10:29 pm

I’ve heard different from my father. He was riding backcountry when he fumbled with some bear spray in his pack, and got himself in the face by accident. From what he described it basically did what pepper spray is supposed to: His eyes were stinging badly, his nose was running; basically he was all tears and mucus.

henrybowman in reply to henrybowman. | January 6, 2023 at 11:58 pm

Yes, this is true. But the bear version is designed to make a wide deterrent cloud that a bear would have difficulty approaching you without walking through. The people version is often designed to spray a concentrated (and much more painful and incapacitating) stream at a perp. often sticking to skin (a useless feature on fur).

Yep. And the thug cop that beat her was given tickets to the Super Bowl.

InEssence in reply to gonzotx. | January 7, 2023 at 12:21 am

The actual number is 4 people died that day. You list 2 which you should, but the police threw a grenade into the crowd which killed 2 more people.

GravityOpera in reply to InEssence. | January 7, 2023 at 8:36 pm

I haven’t heard this one before either. Who was killed by a grenade and what is your evidence for that claim?

GravityOpera in reply to gonzotx. | January 7, 2023 at 3:18 am

Proof? I’ve never even heard the claim that they stomped on her head before and didn’t see it in any footage I’m aware of.

I tried to look into this, but there are no records at any viable/believable site. I would take anything gonzo says with a huge mountain of salt.

chrisboltssr in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | January 7, 2023 at 9:34 am

The J6 Committee itself isn’t believable and after all the nonsense the Leftists put us through you think gonzo’s word is the one you should take with a grain of salt? What happened to your admonishment of not treating fellow posters here as enemies, or is there an exclusion for contributors?

Better load up on water, Fuzzy. That mountain of salt is going to haunt you.

GravityOpera in reply to gonzotx. | January 7, 2023 at 8:34 pm

Not even your own “evidence” claims that Boyland was deliberately stomped to death by the police. The words “stomp”, “kick” , “head”, and “skull” don’t even appear in that story.

henrybowman in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | January 7, 2023 at 10:43 pm

Washington Examiner believable enough for you?

“About two minutes later, protester Luke Coffee came before the police officers and yelled for them to stop before being pepper-sprayed, video shows, whereupon a rioter throws a large wooden stick at the police officer, who uses the stick to strike Coffee and deliver a blow to Boyland’s ribs as well as two hits to her head despite her being motionless, according to the report.”

There was no (foot) stomping to the head, but there was stick-beating to the head.

The “grenade” allegations are contained in “rabid wombat’s” URL from twitchy, below.

GravityOpera in reply to henrybowman. | January 9, 2023 at 4:34 am

Thanks, that links to more video than I’ve seen before. It contains more bodycam video before Boyland is visible and shows the rescue and resuscitation efforts by the police. (It’s amazing that the conspiracy sites don’t include that footage.)

The extended (to me) video shows a serious fight between cops and rioters. It makes no sense to believe that an officer would waste attention, time, and energy beating an unconscious person. The body cam also clearly shows that the officer was targeting a standing rioter. She MAY have ACCIDENTALLY struck Boyland, but any hits would have been during the follow-through/recovery and have only minor injury potential.

The video also demonstrates that if someone goes down during a riot the fastest way to get them medical attention is to fall back and let the cops pull the injured behind their lines where the medics are. The continued attacks on the cops delayed medical attention and increased the chances for Boyland to take more injuries during the fighting.

          —————–

I think you are referring to this quote: “For over an hour this went on, during this barrage Kevin Greeson and Benjamin Phillips both suffered fatal heart attacks from the munitions being thrown.” That’s a really weak correlation. The tweet ends with “People were on fire and had holes blown in them at this point.” Holes blown in people from crowd control munitions? I’ll need more salt to take with his statements.

Yes, that is a horrifying video to watch. Very disturbing. Thanks for sharing that link.

chrisboltssr in reply to GravityOpera. | January 7, 2023 at 9:32 am

Yes, it’s be nice if all the footage from that day was released and not just the footage which allows these bad Pele to get away with the crimes they’ve committed.

Oh so they finally found somebody they’re ready to arrest for ‘illegally blocking traffic?’

Seriously, these jackasses can go to hell.

You let ‘climate protestors’ illegally block traffic for hours at a time while you ‘negotiate’ with them and then let them just walk away.

    Don’t forget BLM

    Black, Loot,Murder

    Not a problem

Pretty sure they didn’t have any permits amd weren’t shoulder beaten as Ashli’s mom was bu that obese pig of an officer

“Lt. Michael Byrd fatally shot the unarmed Babbitt when she tried to force her way into the Capitol Building.”

She didn’t try to force her way into thr Capitol Building. She was already inside, let in by Capitol Police, and she was trying to crawl through a broken window, where she was shot in the neck by that coward Byrd.

Conservative news outlets and websites should not be getting this wrong.

gonzotx in reply to chrisboltssr. | January 6, 2023 at 6:34 pm

    Agreed

alaskabob in reply to chrisboltssr. | January 6, 2023 at 6:49 pm

With police directly behind her in the building. What next? Solitary confinement and beatings?

Anyone mentioning the coup of November 4th will face every asset the federal government can bring to bear to quell mention of the fact that they’re illegitimate and rigged the 2020 election’FJB

mailman in reply to chrisboltssr. | January 6, 2023 at 7:18 pm

Not only that but she had forcefully stopped the person who had smashed the glass just moments earlier (punched him for good measure according to a journalist who witnessed everything including the shooting).

henrybowman in reply to mailman. | January 6, 2023 at 7:31 pm

That part is news to me. Which begs the question: if she was that opposed to it, why did she then decide to climb through it?

henrybowman in reply to rabid wombat. | January 7, 2023 at 12:05 am

After reading this, I am even more bumfuzzled by her decision to climb through the window. It’s just totally out of character and motivation.

I don’t get that part, either. What was she doing? And why? I want to see the video of the moments leading up to that decision to climb up on the window sill. Was she trying to block people from entering via that route? Or was she herself trying to get through . . . but why? It’s all very confusing.

But one thing is, and has been, clear: Trump’s speech was still going on while the Capitol was breached. A good 30-minute walk away, no less. There is no connection between Trump’s speech that day and what happened at the Capitol.

chrisboltssr in reply to henrybowman. | January 7, 2023 at 9:38 am

It doesn’t matter if it was out of character and motivation, she didn’t need to be shot in the neck for it. It goes to show that do many conservatives have become infected by the Leftist narrative of January 6 such that many of you would probably defend Michael Byrd over Ashli Babbitt.

henrybowman in reply to henrybowman. | January 7, 2023 at 10:28 pm

FS: I’ve already seen that video, the long version. She was simply the first one to climb through the broken interior window. Then bang, from a hand that briefly appears to the side of the viewfinder. Maybe I’ll have to rewatch it. She certainly didn’t give off a vibe of trying to deny it to anybody else.

GravityOpera in reply to henrybowman. | January 9, 2023 at 4:42 am

My only guess is that she wanted to be first through and was willing to fight others for that opportunity. Nothing else makes sense to me.

gonzotx in reply to rabid wombat. | January 8, 2023 at 2:01 am

Thanks , that’s something I never saw. There is a lot of blood on the hands of the police officer , crazy Nancy, so many

And the fact that they don’t care about the people who lost their lives that say…

I feel for their families and if I lived anywhere near DC I would be with Ashli’s mom everyday.

I hear she is there everyday… often alone or with one or Two people

We are just pathetic, including myself…

What you’re seeing take place between government and the people they consider peasants today is the EXACT reason for the second amendment

I am thinking they followed her waiting to nab her for any plausible reason.

henrybowman in reply to Skip. | January 6, 2023 at 11:59 pm

I’m thinking she used herself as bait to get nabbed. She has more in mind. Hope she can pull it off.

GravityOpera in reply to Skip. | January 7, 2023 at 2:48 am

Why would they go to that much trouble instead of just letting her fade into obscurity?

Not that they needed to do anything to nab her. She went to them, ignored lawful orders, then volunteered to be arrested.

Roseanne Boyland murder was witnessed by a few, one man is in prison trying to save her

    n.n in reply to Skip. | January 7, 2023 at 1:21 pm

That’s her. The woman kicked in a prone position until she was no longer viable. Babbitt was shot in a prone position after failing to calm the situation and while attempting to escape the riot.

      GravityOpera in reply to n.n. | January 7, 2023 at 8:51 pm

Babbitt was not prone when she was shot.

gonzotx made a similar claim (that she was stomped to death), but upon request provided “evidence” that does not even make the same claim as he (and you) have.

gonzotx in reply to GravityOpera. | January 8, 2023 at 1:46 am

I posted one article to prove a point that she was Murdered. Seems there was a question of mounds of salt ….as I said there are numerous articles, I just didn’t have the rime at that one point to Post them All.
However, your too lazy to look for them and just seem to look for my
        Name to post ugly comments

Is that a good use of your time or is your life just that boring?

GravityOpera in reply to gonzotx. | January 8, 2023 at 3:12 am

I haven’t posted a single “ugly” comment on this article and I cannot guess at the thought process required to make that accusation.

You moved the goalposts. You claimed Boyland was murdered BY THE POLICE DELIBERATELY STOMPING ON HER HEAD. Your link doesn’t prove that. (Your link doesn’t even prove she was murdered. Anyone who has seen the bodycam and has swung a stick around themselves can tell the officers were targeting standing attackers and did not strike her on purpose. The embedded video has some incredible creative writing and deserves a prize in that category.)

Finding out the truth about a nationally important topic isn’t a good use of my time? When someone makes a novel claim I like to learn more about it.

      henrybowman in reply to n.n. | January 7, 2023 at 10:48 pm

Mmm, no. She was poised in the window just before jumping down to the far side. When she was shot, she fell back to the original side and was mobbed by people. Had she gotten through the window, she would have fallen on the far side.

Never fear, fellow LI readers: Kevin! McCarthy will fold like a cheap suit on this issue and every other issue his GOPe handlers tell him to ignore.

“Capitol Police suck ass!” Pretty much sums it up.

Wrong, Mary…4 were killed on 1/6, all murdered by the police

The story is incorrect. They did have a permit to protest at the Capitol. The Capitol is public property and their permit is called the Constitution.

Walking in the street is dangerous — both the traffic and well as the protestors. If Ms. Witthoeft and her group would have limited themselves to less dangerous activities — blocking the street with benches and trashcans or burning down buildings — the police would have left them alone.

When she tried to escape a riot (i.e. disorder) forced by the police and probable Whitmerism with Pelosi’s abortive intent.

There was another unarmed woman who was kicked by police until she was no longer viable.

As anyone but the most willfully blind can see: Pelosi rigged the whole thing.

An officer was placed on administrative leave after a shooting, as is standard, and since he was the target of death threats was moved to a secure location? The horror!

gonzotx in reply to GravityOpera. | January 8, 2023 at 1:48 am

Oh Lord you have to be kidding…

GravityOpera in reply to gonzotx. | January 9, 2023 at 4:48 am

Which of the following do you believe should be true?
        – Police officers should not be put on admin leave after a shooting. They should be kept on active duty instead.
        – Police officers receiving a large volume of death threats after a controversial incident should be thrown to the wolves.
