Biden’s Department of Energy recently released a report which showed the consequences of his decision to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline during his first week in office.

In a surprise to no one, the report concluded that this decision killed thousands of jobs and potentially billions of dollars.

FOX News reports:

Biden admin quietly admits canceling Keystone XL Pipeline cost thousands of jobs, billions of dollars

The Biden administration published a congressionally mandated report highlighting the positive economic benefits the Keystone XL Pipeline would have had if President Biden didn’t revoke its federal permits.

The report, which the Department of Energy (DOE) completed in late December without any public announcement, says the Keystone XL project would have created between 16,149 and 59,000 jobs and would have had a positive economic impact of between $3.4-9.6 billion, citing various studies. A previous report from the federal government published in 2014 determined 3,900 direct jobs and 21,050 total jobs would be created during construction which was expected to take two years.

But immediately after taking office in January 2021, Biden canceled the pipeline’s permits, effectively shutting the project down.

“The Biden administration finally owned up to what we have known all along — killing the Keystone XL Pipeline cost good-paying jobs, hurt Montana’s economy and was the first step in the Biden administration’s war on oil and gas production in the United States,” Sen. Steve Daines. R-Mont., said Thursday in a statement. “Unfortunately, the administration continues to pursue energy production anywhere but the United States.”

“These policies may appeal to the woke left but hurt Montana’s working families,” he continued. “I’ll keep fighting back against Biden’s anti-energy agenda and supporting Montana energy projects and jobs.”

In one of his very first acts as president, Joe Biden destroyed the jobs of thousands of Americans in order to please the climate change obsessed left.

From The Hill:

On his first day in office, President Biden canceled a permit that was needed for the pipeline’s construction — leading to the project’s ultimate demise. The move sparked praise from environmental organizations but condemnation from Republicans and the energy industry.

The new report found that the pipeline was expected to create about 50 permanent jobs once it was operational.

It also said that studies estimated the construction period would support between 16,149 and 59,468 jobs, though it said that the high-end estimate “overstates” jobs because it included jobs outside the United States.

This just confirms what so many people already knew.

This isn’t just about jobs. Energy policy impacts everything else. Does anyone doubt that our inflation problem would be greatly lessened if Biden’s energy policies were different?

Why the sudden CYA?

Read the story – they were forced to release the economic impact report by law in December, they tried to publish it without actually announcing it but its gotten too much visibility so now they’re frantically trying to do damage control.

But why should they being in damage control mode. Why should they be trying to CYA for the disastrous report. They should be proud of it. They have furthered the Green Scam Agenda. They have reduced the production of that filthy, carbon producing petroleum. And we are so much more better for it. Really, we are. The Biden regime should be trumpeting their success from the rooftops. Or at least Jean-Perrier should be lecturing us about the topic from her podium.

The Biden regime has failed spectacularly once again. Billions of dollars lost to the economy. Thousands of people out of work! And the United States even more dependent on foreign petroleum.

      Huzzah! Hurrah!

Not only that, with all the job losses, they could claim to be fighting inflation, socialist style.

Because they could only virtue signal like that in the Trump economy when everything was humming along.

Now that the economy is in freefall and they’re hemorrhaging jobs every month they’re having to try to do damage control.

You can’t virtue signal luxury beliefs in a crashing economy.

That’s like justifying shooting yourself in the foot. “It’s okay, I have two feet.”

No, no… it’s not even that bad! When I shot myself in the foot I only blew off two toes, and I have TEN of those!

They believe that the carbon zero world is sooo close….. no need to continue to ramp up supply of a nasty pollutant. Less oil promises a sooner clean future…. except it won’t be cleaner…. just colder, hotter, hungrier, poorer world of shorter lives.

The pipeline isn’t there for jobs. It’s there because it makes a profit, which is to say somebody values it more than the guy building it. That raises the standard of living of the nation since both sides come out ahead.

Don’t confuse the rational interpretation of this report with the interpretation most useful for bludgeoning the other team.

If we did that, we’d have to stop firing congressmen for spending money out of the wrong campaign accounts and boinking 14-year-olds in the Caribbean, and start firing them for egregiously violating the Constitution on a daily basis.

Eat crickets and be happy

Crickets have no idea what humanity has in store for them

The government doesn’t want American industries to thrive. All except the social media companies they use to disperse propaganda are made the shrivel up and die. They do not want sustainable, successful industries in this country. Not when there’s more to be made selling out to foreign markets and taking in dirty money. Ask SBF’s parents if they’re feeling any pain in this depression.

POS Biden is the WORST President ever! Impeachment is coming for him!

What’s a few billion in economic gain to gain some votes for the right people to stay in authoritah? Cheap at twice the prices.

Besides, it’s at least a three-fer. The losses hit those wrongthink deplorables, clipping their ability to play in politics, and stepping on their lives, livelihoods, and lifestyles for being on the wrong team side of history.

That’ll teach ’em. Pour encourager les autres.

BTW, who says Der BidenGaffer’s administration is incompetent? This move is brutally effective and viscous. Pour encourager les autres.

And, don’t forget, TC Energy is suing the USA under the NAFTA Treaties claiming the multi-billion dollars in costs they incurred after the license was granted.
