Republican 2024 Presidential Preferences (Reader Poll, Now Closed): And The Winner Is . . . Ron DeSantis
The runner-up is former president Donald Trump
On Saturday, we asked LI readers to select their preference for the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.
The results reveal an overwhelming preference among readers for Florida governor Ron DeSantis: 61.73% (1,058 votes).
The runner-up is former president Donald Trump: 28.88% (495 votes).
With these results, it seems the big takeaway is that, should Governor DeSantis decide to enter the race, it’s a two-person race. No one else comes close to garnering the support needed to be successful in the GOP primary. At this point, anyway, two years out. Who knows what can or will happen between now and the primaries (or our next reader preference poll)?
Here are the top six:
And here are the bottom six (how Liz Cheney got ANY votes is a mystery to me):
It’s a somewhat surprising result. Who would have guessed that Nikki Haley would come in third (however distant) or that Texas governor Greg Abbott would tie for last with Liz let’s find a country to bomb Cheney?

(how Liz Cheney got ANY votes is a mystery to me)
I joked about Liz in the comments, but didn’t vote for her – I love a good joke – but that seemed like it would be more bat-shit-crazy than funny.
“(how Liz Cheney got ANY votes is a mystery to me)”
NO EDIT BUTTON!
Liz and Jeb! voted.
Ron DeSantis is needed in his role as Governor of Florida. The Nation can have him next presidential cycle, not 2024. The Dems will have this election rigged for Biden anyway.
Nope. The country needs him now. He is riding high.. Biden won’t be running again. I would be surprised if he makes it through his first term
Trump is too old, too out of control, has way, way too much baggage and can’t attract Dems and Independents. DeSantis is far more disciplined and can attract Independents
Right, amd Trump just got a side like no other for 6 years plus, all he did was work his ass off for US.
You don’t deserve him
DeSantis is bought
I will have the last laugh
Unfortunately
“DeSantis is bought”
You lie.
Admit it, you have no idea what big $$$ campaign contributors donate for.
Bought is the case with almost all politicians. A few are not. DeSantis is not among those that are not. Private meetings with the big money donors that result in big money donations are pretty damn clear to all but the brainless.
Bought and paid for. Donations are a matter of public record.
Shades of 2016. 45 was not liked by certain people here then. That was made clear. This poll is no surprise.
Of course, the leftist media hasn’t really started flexing their biased muscles against him the way they did President Trump.
But they will, have no fear.
Can he withstand the onslaught the way President Trump did? Time will tell.
Also, can we settle down to just a few candidates for the 2024 primary cycle? No need for the spectacle the Dems made, and we need to stand behind the candidate 100%, regardless if you don’t like his haircut or tweets.
Agreed. Trump getting trolled by Milo and Kanye in itself, is not the fatal issue (Trump is not an Antisemite). But Trump getting trolled shows he does not have the chops for this anymore.
Aside from the fact that this was taken from this one group, I was surprised that this many people echo the Dem arguments. 1. Trump isn’t the typical 70+ yr old. He is more physically healthy and energetic, his mind sharper than most men 15-20 yrs younger. 2. “Baggage”…who doesn’t bring baggage? If you mean mistakes, he learns, he makes adjustments. It’s how he’s so successful. 3. OF COURSE HE CAN’T ATTRACT DEMS as a whole. I’m especially cautious when Repubs do (McCarthy, Cheney, etc)! But because of him strongly blasting truth, unapologetically, many Dems HAVE walked away from that party. Independents are usually like the partners who have trouble committing, but many DID go for Trump. Again, he DID attracted many of them. The Dems will go mild on or even talk up even DeSantis (whom I have great admiration for), to try to knock Trump out. If DeSantis announces, I’ll know he fell for it, and I’ll lose some respect for him. I’ll think the only way he’s “bought” is the seduction of the office. Like happened with Pence. If Trump is out, he will not have the experience or battle scars to withstand what the Dems did to Trump. I wanted a Trump/DeSantis ticket. If something did happen to Trump, there would be DeSantis.. Then DeSantis for 2028, 2032. How have we again been so baited???
We know you are right thanks to President Christ Christie.
Any president DeSantis scenario is a 2024 scenario, if we give Biden an extra 4 years by knowingly nominating someone who can’t win we take down DeSantis to.
I used to believe that, but I don’t think we have an alternative to DeSantis. Trump hasn’t been showing that he’s learned the lessons of the past, and is still behaving like it’s 2016. If he thinks that attacking other Republicans, holding rallies, and courting bozos like Kanye West is going to win him the presidency in 2024 he’s mistaken. In 2016 he took the Democrats by surprise. They’re ready for him now.
The establishment has spoken and the winner is…Ron DeSantis.
The notion that President Trump exclusively represents the allegedly “authentic” choice of conservatives is asinine, as is positing that DeSantis represents an “establishment” choice. That’s just a pejorative characterization without any grounding. The guy has governed Florida with competence and savvy instincts. The goal is winning the general election. Trump isn’t more popular now than when he caught lightning in a bottle with an upset win in 2016, and, I’d submit that, fairly or not, he’s a good deal less popular with the independents and Dumb-o-crats whose votes are needed for any GOP candidate to win the White House. That’s the simple math — the GOP base, alone, doesn’t provide sufficient votes for a GOP candidate to win the presidential election.
That many lazy and complacent Dumb-o-crats stayed home in 2016, wrongly presuming a Clinton victory was in the bag, also helped. That lucky break won’t happen, again. Trump’s ethnically-tinged insult aimed at Glenn Youngkin, as well as his indefensible meeting with Jew-hating bigot/psycho, Kanye West, display his incredible absence of judgment and restraint.
The electoral landscape has changed; this isn’t 2016.
You are correct but you might as well be tilting at windmills with these cultists.
They seem completely incapable of looking at alternative explanations outside of the ever-shrinking Trump bubble.
“The notion that President Trump exclusively represents the allegedly “authentic” choice of conservatives is asinine, as is positing that DeSantis represents an “establishment” choice.”
So, by “establishment choice”, you think that means what precisely?
If DeSantis, or any other candidate, is supported by the GOPe, by the Bush’s, by McConnell, by Paul Ryan, by Fox News, by the big $$$ establishment donors, etc, that is the very definition of “establishment choice”.
You people will twist the definition of any and every word to stop that bad ole Donald Trump.
You’re all deranged.
Exactly, so many fools
Any definition of Republican Establishment that doesn’t include Donald J Trump is a horrible one.
“Establishment?” Ron DeSantis? That’s hilariously stupid.
Trump vanquishes all primary comers onto the ash heap of history, sometimes permanently. We’ll see.
Not this time. Not with the far brighter and more disciplined and less thin skinned DeSantis in the race. I voted for Trump twice but I am so tired of his flying off the handle.
How do you want your globalist served
Asking for a friend’
You should be more concerned with the Dems “flying off the handle” with hoaxes and false impeachments, and their unrelenting need to cheat and defraud the system, be it voting or legal.
That Trump survived that and got good work done is a testament to his effectiveness.
DeSantis seems capable of combatting the coming storm, but it won’t hurt to let Trump continue to be a lightning rod for the deranged left.
He “survived” it? Umm, he’s not president right now, is he?
“tired of his flying off the handle”
Define “flying off the handle”. I bet you can’t give a reasonable example.
If he flies off the handle, that is where the truth lies. Wiretapping the whitehouse? REMEMBER?
I didn’t use my ballot. Did it get harvested?
Someone used it to vote for Liz Cheney.
She got same number of votes at LI as she got in entire WY
🙂
A lot can happen in two years, true. Trump has declared and is campaigning, gathering support. Desantis though has yet to show any signs that he’s interesting in running for President in 2024. I do somewhat agree with Antifundamentalist above, I would prefer Desantis finish his term as governor then maybe turn his eye towards the presidency. He could do a lot to keep Florida republican for 2024 and beyond doing that.
Um, Trump is not gaining support and has been attacked by Republicans for having West and Fuentes to Mar A Lago. Everything DeSantis has done has shown that he is very interested in running.. Trump is too old, way too much baggage. No more old men in their late 70s
Good idea, let’s get a young guy as president, maybe Obama would suit you.
More Dem talking points. Trump has great support. Not all Repubs are blind to the fact that Kanye hadn’t fallen into the Jew hate or have Fuentes as handler last time he met with Trump. Kanye called Trump (not the other way around) and asked to come. Fuentes and Milo Yiannopoulos were not invited or expected. How have “we” let ourselves accept and blather about Trump making a bad choice in having them! Same with the argument about age and baggage. For most anyone else I’d say the same, but Trump is like a man in his 50’s. Stop the Dem talking points! Pence was seduced over the same things
DeSantis hasn’t stopped campaigning for the last 1.5 years
Trump declared abnormally early to try and remove heat from DOJ and because he doesn’t give a crap about anyone other than himself.
If DeSantis doesn’t run in 2024 he will never be president period.
Nobody will care how well he did covid, or about hurricans under his administration or well his governorship next time.
Chris Christie missed his moment in 2024.
It is either throw the election away on a man with a 0% chance of victory named Donald Trump or have Ron DeSantis with a chance of success, he will not be president ever if he doesn’t run now you don’t get to have a gap year as a politician.
Where’s Fuzzy? She probably doing her victory dance and will come later and take a victory lap.
She likes dancing you day?
DJT can win the r nomination. He will get all the Only Trump votes and none of the Never Trump votes. He will have to earn the votes of those like me who are in the Maybe Trump camp.
Personally I am looking for signs DJT has not only learned to be disciplined in his messaging and not make everything about himself, but also to be consistent with that demonstration.
His announcement speech was good. His timing was bad, we still had votes being counted and a runoff in GA, thus making himself the story v helping our candidates run through the midterm finish line.
His shots at DeSantis and Youngkin the week of the election didn’t help DJT to show he is putting the interests of the midterm candidates above his own, those remarks stole some of the spotlight away from candidates in a knife fight down the stretch.
His meeting with Ye, Milo and Fuentes was not a good idea. It was reported that DJT overruled the suggestions to only meet Ye and have staff take Milo and Fuentes off to the side somewhere, again not demonstrating discipline as a candidate for the nomination.
Discipline doesn’t mean weak, fearful or inept. A disciplined boxer or martial arts practitioner will still kick ass but in a more effective way. Seeding chaos and hoping for the best isn’t gonna help DJT win the votes of the maybes. Lot’s of maybes out there who voted twice for DJT. Ignore them or dismiss their concerns at the peril of DJT’s candidacy for the r nomination.
He’s a lion not a school boy
You want a well do e filet before they cut your throat I see
DeSantis couldn’t even have won his governors seat first time around without President Trump, and then…two years in he replaces his people and hires the globalist squad
Just to stab his mentor in the back
Great guy
gonzo,
To follow up on your analogy the hyena is in office right now, not the lion. The lion and hyena were fighting over the same kill and the hyena ended up in possession of it……not the lion.
I voted 2X for DJT and I will do so again in the general if he is the nominee. In contrast you have repeatedly stated you won’t vote in the general if DJT isn’t the r nominee.
I do have a requirement for DJT to get my primary vote. Show that he has learned from the past mistakes and become more disciplined as a candidate. That’s a low bar.
The meat was handed over. Delivered on a platter. The hyena never even had to hunt, but,, we all believe he made the kill. SMH.
DeSantis won the ultimate purple state in a blue wave year because he is a great candidate who then by governing well turned that state to a shade of red.
Trump’s personal popularity wasn’t high in 2018 which was a blue wave year that saw Democrats make gains across the country.
Even if what you said was true prior endorsements don’t make you someone’s servant.
No it’s not that what President Trump was doing lost the election, it was stolen, at 3 am, with a leaky toilet, with bags and I guess you haven’t read the history of the 2018 bags and bags of stolen mail in votes
Truth matters
You are claiming 2018 was stolen now?
Is Trump a politician or a god to you?
He lost 2020 period end of story. His redo claiming it was stolen with stop the steal candidates made Michigan look like California.
The American people just voted to show us the will not put up with that narrative.
Dead people voted in 2020. I know one personally. Multiply that by 10000.
He has a far better chance at winning the nomination as his snowballs chance in hell of winning a general.
Don’t worry, though, his cultists are already running their built in excuse out there 2 years early if we get stuck with him and bomb another election.
A Biden /Trump rematch in ’24 has to favor Trump considering the abject failure of Biden’s policies. The issue, IMO, is the folks who flipped from Trump to Biden and the folks who stayed home after voting for Trump in ’16. Both those groups decided they didn’t like Trump anymore.
The first question is can DJT earn back those voters from 2016 and get them into the polls to choose him in ’24? The second question is how does he do that? I believe it’s possible if he can show he is a more disciplined candidate. Stop talking about himself and focus on the serious problems we face now. It’s possible he can do that, he did in his announcement but I am not convinced he can keep it up until Nov’24.
I have my doubts about Biden even completing this term. He won’t be running in 2024. It would be Newscum or another younger and more charismatic candidate. Trump only won 2016 because everybody hated Hillary more than him. Against a competitive candidate Trump would get destroyed.
In what world?
He’s had the entire media, his own party, the entire so
Called intelligence empire, globalists, parts of the military, courts amd he STILL won amd STILL governed better than ANY President of the 20th century
Warts and all
Only Trump
He gained voters between 2016 and 2020. He just got outvoted.
He just got outcounted.
FIFY, since you’re incapable.
Voters are not part of the process. Only ballots count, and those ballot tabulators. It is entirely possible to get more ballot counts than registered voters.
So cave to the Progressives again, like good little Republicans?? They will do the same thing to DeSantis, because it worked so well with Trump. If you don’t think it’s going to happen…just wait. With the Propaganda media on their side, and the courts on their side, they can’t lose.
How is being disciplined caving? A good boxer will be disciplined in his punch count, they won’t waste energy. Instead they will be brutally efficient as they methodically destroy their opponent body and their opponents will to continue. IOW a disciplined fighter will make their opponent quit.
Same things to DeSantis? You brought up DeSantis not me. Personally I would love it if DJT became more disciplined. It would make him a much more dangerous candidate.
The d/prog and their media and tech allies will absolutely use the same tactics against whomever is the nominee. We all know their playbook. Not for nothing but had DJT been inaugurated following the 2020 election this discussion about ’24 would be moot. Clearly what DJT was doing didn’t work or lead to being in office in ’21.
Chief, you buy into the “disciplined” BS because the marxist left sold you on that with their psychological operations. They created discord and chaos to which ANY president worth a damn would react.
This whole line has been manufactured and engineered by the chinese owned left which includes most of the GOP.
Stop falling for it. You’re much smarter than that.
Barry,
Lets look at the arguments posted so far as reasons to support DJT and only DJT, even from those who say they want DeSantis as his VP in ’24 and as the clear choice in 28 and ’32.
We are told we must support DJT and only DJT in ’24 because otherwise we:
1. Have been hoodwinked by the Chinese Communists
2. Have been tricked by the globalist
3. Are being used by the establishment
Those are the most common reasons cited followed by:
4. We are stupid
5. We are naive
6. We are insane
7. We are fanboys of the establishment
8. We like McConnell and McCarthy holding a leash and telling us to sit on command
Those are not very good reasons. In fact they are all attacks on our mental state, cognitive ability, moral fibre, our character and ability to observe, analyze and decide for ourselves.
I am an easy date for DJT. He got my vote twice in the primary and twice in the general. If he is the nominee he will absolutely get my vote v whatever d/prog he is running against.
The only question is if he can EARN my vote in the primary. To do so he needs to be more disciplined and not make preventable errors such as having a meeting with three whackos in YE, Milo and Fuentes as a declared Candidate.
Being disciplined doesn’t mean he can’t be aggressive or even abrasive and sarcastic. It does mean not making unforced errors, refusing to give ammo to a very hostile media and being willing to subordinate his ego to the goal of winning the damn race.
That’s a very low bar to get my vote in the r primary.
Why do I think that is important? The composition of the electorate. Basically in the general election 90% of voters are already decided about DJT; roughly 45% oppose no matter what and 45% support no matter what.
The remaining 10% is the audience for the campaign. They are up for grabs. Some of them voted for DJT in ’16 but stayed home or voted Biden in ’20. Some didn’t vote in ’16 or ’20. Some voted for HRC in 16, Biden in ’20 but now see the damage; inflation, border, energy, crime, general weirdo mania.
If DJT runs his ’24 campaign like a retiring rock band on a farewell tour he will not convince those 10% to vote for him. He has to sell those voters on why he and his policies are better, while overcoming any preconceived notions about his personality.
I will vote for the man in general because I don’t care about mean tweets or sarcasm but my vote is baked into the 45%. He must convince the remaining 10% and some or most of them do care about his style for lack of a better term or his ability to be disciplined enough to know who his actual audience is.
This is the best line ever, Chief: “If DJT runs his ’24 campaign like a retiring rock band on a farewell tour.” I wish I had written it.
I’d add to that analogy, if he runs it like a comeback tour, he might have a chance. But all signs suggest he’s chosen the farewell tour, looking backward and playing his greatest hits from the old days, still acting like it’s his heyday as he bids his remaining audience adieu, not forward . . . to an amazing platinum album comeback.
Chief,
“Lets look at the arguments posted so far”
Those are not and have never been my “arguments”, so lets discuss the comment I made.
You state that Trump is undisciplined when the exact opposite is true. Only a very disciplined man could have won the 2016 election, could have built an empire, and won the 2020 election garnering more votes than any president in history.
As for your points 1- 3:
1) Many are on the side of the establishment republicans, the GOPe. And the GOPe is owned by the chinese in the form of McConnell and others. Are you suggesting otherwise? This does not mean Trump is the only person to vote for, but he is the only person likely to run and run against the chinese cabal.
2) Are you suggesting there is not “trickery” going on?
3) Does the “establishment” use people? Of course they do, and they pay them, support them, and run them for the benefit of the establishment. Let’s not be silly as we both know this is true.
As for the rest,
4) I specifically said “You’re much smarter than that.”
5) Yes, naive is a good descriptive term for a lot of people, probably the majority.
6) There are insane people commenting on this board. I don’t have to point them out because you know who they are.
7) Is your name ChinaDanny? No, but there are plenty that fit that description, and you know it.
8) There is no shortage of people commenting on this board doing precisely that. Again, not you.
The final point, a new one – I’m fine with someone other than Trump when someone comes along that I believe will act on behalf of Americans. None are currently in the race other than Trump. DeSantis is certainly positioning himself for a run. Will he enter? He is, IMO based upon considerable evidence, the GOPe candidate. If I have to spoon feed you the evidence it’s pointless, go find it as it’s out there. Private donor meetings with the big $$$ establishment donors being among them. Then there are the republicans stating there support. And last Murdoch supports him. That ought to be enough to get anyone started. Lots more if you just look.
So that’s the problem, disinformation about Trump (like undisciplined) and potentially disqualifying information about DeSantis.
Have Rand Paul announce a candidacy and I’ll have a 2nd choice. In fact, were I doing the choosing, I’d have Paul as the Trump VP, with the 2028 Presidential nomination.
Now support the “undisciplined” moniker you hang on Trump instead of changing the subject.
And let us know what you think regarding the recent elections in Arizona, Fraud? or no.
2020 election, fraud? or no. You think Biden “won” that election?
Onto the non existent mid term red wave: Did the republican party suppress it in order to blame Trump? Is the republican lieutenant gov of Georgia part of the suppression, or is that Trump’s fault as well?
Barry,
Your first sentence is ‘you buy into the disciplined BS because the Marxist left sold you on that’.
That seems to strongly imply that I have been hoodwinked by Marxists because I am unable to observe and analyze data. That is an attack on cognitive ability. I am a little tired of that sort of shit whether directed at me or at others.
Those of us in the maybe Trump camp are easy votes to gain. All of have a reservation of some sort about Trump. I choose discipline because it’s a more all encompassing term. To me that means several things:
1. knocking off the attacks on other r in or out of office until they are declared candidates for the nomination. McConnell is fair game 24/7 as is McCarthy, though DJT did endorse McCarthy for his bid to become Speaker.
2. Explain why in the hell he endorsed McCarthy for Speaker. That guy is the epitome of a DC insider and card carrying member of the establishment who effed over outsider candidates in primary races this midterm cycle.
3. Explain what the hell he was thinking as a declared candidate in taking a meeting with Ye at all. Then explain why he didn’t follow the recommendation of his staff to keep Milo and Fuentes away from him.
This YOLO act is wearing thin, not because I care about him meeting with Ye. The 10% of voters who aren’t already absolutely locked in for/against DJT in the general election do care about this stuff.
He has to know this shit PO some voters he needs. He’s too smart not to understand it. So are you FWIW. What I want him to show is that he not only understands it but is actually committed to doing whatever it takes to win, even if it means adjusting his style to appease the voters in that critical 10%.
Once again you refuse to answer the question, just typing away with lots of words and no meaning.
“That seems to strongly imply that I have been hoodwinked by Marxists because I am unable to observe and analyze data. That is an attack on cognitive ability. I am a little tired of that sort of shit whether directed at me or at others.”
One, I don’t give a damn what you’re “tired of”, just so it’s clear.
Once again, you cannot give me your example of what makes Donald Trump and undisciplined man. You made the allegation, got called on it, and now refuse to back it up, preferring instead to dance around.
I already explained why he endorsed McCarthy for speaker. Read upstairs and get the very factual answer. After reading, assess your ability to understand the political situation that one has as president with limited powers. Perhaps when you’ve thought that through you will stop acting like a lefty asking stupid questions.
The meeting you wish explained is quite easy –
Trump is actually a very good person. It’s why the global cabal arrayed against him, spending tens of millions of dollars and using the complete and full force of the United States including the intelligence apparatus, cannot find even an overdue library book in his past.
One of the traits of a good person is loyalty, being a good friend. And for that reason Trump met with your undesirable. It’s that simple. I’d prefer an honest and loyal man to a conniving politician stabbing anyone and everything in the back every day of the week, optics be damned.
“…but is actually committed to doing whatever it takes to win, even if it means adjusting his style to appease the voters in that critical 10%.”
In other words, honesty and loyalty are out. Fakery is in. You’ll vote for anything. Good to know. I understand everything I thought about you is 100% wrong.
You see, choosing a bad person, a fake, a con man is what led to this trouble we are in. Trump came along, and while an imperfect man as we all are, put himself out there, warts and all, for us to see. The result was the greatest president in my adult life producing the greatest economy in my lifetime, and doing it all while fighting the marxist left including the treachery conducted by his own party.
The 2020 election was then stolen and you’re fine with it. In fact, just like Legal “Insurrection”, you just ignore it, will not discuss it, will not touch it.
Le’ts see what you write next.
Barry,
You state ‘you don’t care what I am tired of’ and as a private citizen not running for office that’s perfectly fine.
The flaw in that ‘don’t care’ attitude is your ability or even willingness to convince those of us in the Maybe Trump camp around here to vote for DJT in the r primary.
Presumably you desire that DJT win the r nomination? To do so he needs the votes from folks like me.
I laid out several items in DJT performance since Nov of 2022 that seem to indicate he has not leaders to be a disciplined candidate by choosing to elevate the current concerns of voters instead of his ego. I would be happy to hear your explanation for those items if you wish to attempt to convince me.
If you instead wish to focus on his tenure as POTUS then I need to know why he failed to deliver on his central 2016 campaign promise to construct a Border Wall along our southern border with Mexico.
In your explanation please tell me what DJT did and what he chose not to do to secure the authorization and funding appropriation from Congress.
As an example when Congress rejected that in the 1st budget DJT choose not to veto the budget bill. I had an opportunity to potentially break the establishment and secure victory. He allowed Ryan and McConnell to have their way on the issue and passively accepted it instead of aggressively rejecting it via use of his veto.
Barry,
I am not projecting or a making accusations about you. I don’t understand why you feel the need to do so towards me.
I personally don’t care. I ain’t championing any particular candidate, but you are championing Trump. If you want people to change their minds and vote for Trump you will be more successful with honey than vinegar.
Trump is a politician. Every politician must garner votes to get elected. If they are not elected it don’t matter how great they are because their ideas don’t get enacted.
He was unable to seal the deal in 2020, as a result Biden was inaugurated. I would suggest that there are voters who would be willing to vote for DJT if his style didn’t turn them off. As I have stated if he is the r nominee I will vote for him. I think his humor and sarcasm is funny as hell. I ain’t his target in the general.
For the r primary, he has to earn my vote. I laid out how. You seem to object. Fine. The interesting thing is that his campaign announcement speech was markedly different in terms of ‘style’ from previously.
DJT seems to understand his weaknesses and is making an effort to overcome them even if you refuse to acknowledge that. I give the man credit for doing so. He has more work to do.
PowerLine Blog’s poll on the same question featued De Santis winning, as well. That website and Legal Insurrection probably have overlapping and similar readership, but, still, these are interesting results.
Horseshit. Powerline is a neverTrump website, 100%. It has been since the beginning.
The same poll back in 2015 would have shown Ted Cruz as the winner.
Jeb Bush was way up there.
Jeb was the establishment choice then Voters weighed in.
My daddy was president. My big brother was president. Now it’s my turn, right Mama?
And now DeSantis is
If this poll is any indication, that’s fine, because it will finally unite the entire right for a change.
No it won’t because the Progressives will attack DeSantis too. All we are doing is giving Progressives what they want. We cave to them every single time, and with Mitch and the other Establishment…they always will. Trump was the only one telling us the truth. Now it will go back to the same old, same old, which isn’t on our side.
“If this poll is any indication…”
LOL, this poll is as rigged as the “elections” in Arizona.
Barry, you wrote: “this poll is as rigged” . . . Are you questioning the integrity of Professor Jacobson? Of this site? Because I can assure this poll was not “rigged,” it’s just an online poll using online poll software. And save the “Chinese software” stuff, you are here accusing Professor Jacobson and this site of unethical and corrupt behavior. Is that what you really think? If so, why do you even come here?
Profesor Jacobson explained that the poll options were randomized…
I think the results kinda mirror 2020… when people here thought 45 was a train wreck, or dumpster fire. They were wrong then too.
Not among our readership, Paula.
The ultimate poll is an election and Trump’s results
2016-46% of the vote to 48% to Hillary he won because Hillary Clinton did not think Wisconsin, Pennsylvania or Michigan would be in play and failed to contest them. Significantly in Wisconsin MITT ROMNEY won more votes in his 2012 defeat than Donald Trump in his 2016 victory (Obama won Wisconsin very easily twice).
2018-Catastrohpic blue wave year
2020-Another catastrophe
2022-Failed to retake the senate, Democrats feel truly empowered; they will get to fill up the judiciary with their activists, and we have the weakest majority in party history. We only won the house because of Republican moderates in longshot districts who did not associate with Trump; the stop the steal candidates in places like Grand Rapids lost.
If we keep him as head of the party he will lose again. Democrats will not be taken by surprise in Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania again. We just saw Trump candidates lose in a landslide in all three in fact.
Write a path to the white house without those three states.
How many steals does it take to wake you up?
Once again election results speak for themselves.
In 2016 Trump won fewer votes in Wisconsin than Romney in 2012. The fact that Hillary lost the election despite her when winning 48% of the vote to Trump’s 46% because she failed to contest 3 midwestern states she considered part of a blue wall does not tell me he is popular (none of those states saw Trump landslide victories by the way he barely won any of them).
The elections Trump has lost since then weren’t stolen he is an extremely unpopular man. You are of course free to chose to keep losing elections but Trump isn’t popular.
Another interesting poll might be, “What Republican can win the 2024 Presidential election?” The relative rankings of the two polls might be interesting – does Trump go up or go down?
Quite predictable actually… everyone on this side of the aisle is so sick of leftists they are all already voting for who they think can win. Trumpists are completely divorced from reality, though.
unhealthy is a card carrying neverTrump cult member. Nothing matters but beating bad ole Donald Trump.
Freedom doesn’t matter.
Elections don’t matter.
Liberty doesn’t matter.
Not sending your children to die in foreign wars doesn’t matter.
The economy doesn’t matter.
Your 401K doesn’t matter.
Only one thing matters, defeating the one person in the last 60 years that actually did what he said he was going to do and improved the lives of Americans.
He has something called a brain, and has a desire to save this nation from a bad direction.
You have neither.
No Republican nominee can win in 2024. The fix is already in even if it takes a few tractor-trailer truckloads of ballots preprinted in New York City for PA, AZ, WI, MN and VA.
Everyone on this site should understand that they are living in denial. With the current state of the electoral process in AZ, PA, MI, no republican will win the presidency. Feel free to put money on it.
You’re right. We should just stay home and not vote. That will show ’em!
Steve Hayward at Powerline linked to an interview he and Lucretia had with Glenn Ellmers about an article he wrote at American Greatness. I listened to it yesterday.
Glenn is proposing boycotting elections as a way to register the view that the whole post constitutional administrative state is illegitimate.
It is, of course. But why he thinks Democrats will care one whit if half the voters choose not to vote strikes me as insane. All it will do is give Democrats veto proof majorities in both houses and they absolutely WILL use it to permanently wreck the system. I found the thing idea bizarre.
It sure did in Georgia in 2020. Trump deserves credit for all of Biden’s legislative victories and judicial appointments.
BS
Trump
Won and the Georgia gov and SOS were I. On the steal
Toilet over flow my ass. Worth about 1.( million votes, all democrat
You’re missing the point. Trump torpedoed the Senate runoffs in Georgia because his ego got butthurt.
I got the point Paul but I disagreed with it.
Pure horseshit, Paul.
The GOPe engineered failure, all in order to STOP Trump.
In Georgia y’all are fond of claiming all sorts of lies, like the one that Trump said not to vote in the previous election runoff. That’s a lie.
Now, what we do have, and on the record, is the REPUBLICAN Lieutenant governor telling you not to vote for the republican senate candidate, and doing it on TV.
I guess you’ll lie and blame Trump for that as well.
Disagree with? It’s a public Trump quote.
Reality is selective for the true trump believers.
Well then, it should be no problem for you to find it and link it. And do not link to some other liar saying he said it, get it from Trump, or your a liar or being fooled.
I do not recall him saying anything you can twist into that pretzel, but I’m open to being corrected. No one has yet corrected me. What they all do, so far, is to link to what someone else said with the claim it represents Trump.
Here is NBC and FOX reporting:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/trump-tells-supporters-vote-georgia-runoffs-refuses-accept-reality-his-n1250128
https://www.foxnews.com/us/trump-warns-georgia-voters-of-consequences-of-not-voting-in-state-runoff-for-senate-seats
Now, try to be a damn man and admit the truth. Accept that reality.
It isn’t that you shouldn’t vote, go ahead and do so, in the full knowledge that the Democrat fraud machine makes your vote irrelevant in those states. There is no “margin of fraud” when you can take as long as you want after election day to manufacture as many votes as needed to win, and you can “find” allegedly missing thumb drives with thousands of additional votes that just happen to skew Democrat.
If it makes you feel better by all means pretend it’s pre-2020 and vote as usually.. Volunteer for a campaign. Donate a few bucks. Doesn’t matter.
Ordinary citizens took California to court over their failure to clean up the voter registration lists as required by federal law as well as the uneven election procedures among the Counties of CA.
The 9th Circuit just upheld their standing to continue the case into discovery this week. It can be done if the citizens of the States with less than honest elections procedures choose to do it.
I live in Alabama, we went from a deep blue d/prog stranglehold in 1979 to a r stranglehold in 2011 and have kept it that way since then.
It takes work. It takes investment of time, money, resources. It takes way more dedication than the chicken little act ‘oh, the sky is falling’ that some of us tend to employ in ourselves comments.
If one lives in a State and doesn’t like how elections are administered or the voter registration lists are maintained then it’s up to the folks who live there to stop just talking about the problems. Talk alone won’t fix anything, they must be willing to roll up their sleeves and get busy fixing the problems in their own backyard. No one is gonna do it for them and no white knight is coming to save them.
Good for you in Alabama. CA is the opposite. They used to be conservative. Now it’s a deep blue and I don’t foresee a change notwithstanding a lawsuit pending discovery. Not sure what’s going on in AZ, but whatever it is, it ain’t free and fair elections. There are suits there too. Care to guess at the probability of success?
I live hours away from the dense blue cities that control my state elections. My local elections are well organized. But other areas in my state may not be. I don’t know anyone living there and I don’t have first hand knowledge of their problems so it’s tough to fight from far away.
Concise,
CA and Bama are almost precisely on opposite trajectories. The folks in CA must do the work fix their State. If unwilling then they should move to a purple or red State and deny the blues the taxes and Census count for federal funding and Congressional districts.
CA residents are gonna prevail on merits with issues of voter registration list maintenance and different Counties with different elections procedures. The law requires CA to do it, the 9th Circuit just ruled they have standing which was the big hurdle to jump. The conclusion on the merits is foregone, the Citizens will win.
Congratulations. If those meaningless wins keep piling up Katy bar the door It’s not just “voter rolls” assuming that matter will even be resolved favorable. It’s a multitude of issues, including but not limited to an illegal alien population that will only expand, universal mail in ballots (which are a disaster regardless of pristine voter lists), and ballot harvesting. Reality is tough to escape, isn’t it?
Care to list what wins you consider meaningless? Surely by now you understand that being granted standing in CT is the most important hurdle for pressing a claim?
Perhaps you meant political victories of r candidates in Alabama? Remove the 6/7 HoR members and flip them to d/prog and r fall from 220 to 214. Remove two r Senators and the d/prog have an absolute majority in the Senate.
What exactly are you calling ‘meaningless’ wins?
In reply to Concise
“…a multitude of issues, including but not limited to an illegal alien population that will only expand.”
Some day, when it’s too late, even the democrats will realize this was a bad idea.
Exactly
I’m not Living in denial, we have lost our Country
5 million illegals have trounced into our country, laughing at us, killing our citizens, stealing our money, medical institutions , so many are hanging out in the Fort Worth/Dallas ER’s that they can’t see American citizens, had to fly critical infants to Waco because the illegals have all the beds…
They flood our schools and care nothing for our culture or language.
They are joining the 30,000,000 illegals already here, that’s about 10% of the country and now good old Mitch wants to work with slime ball schumer and give 11 million of them a straight pathway for citizenship.
Now proposition 42 is going to end, another great President Trump law and there are millions more on the way,
We. Are. Screwed, and we have this silly little poll, Pat yourself on the back…
We don’t have honest elections and we don’t have a Country…
But let’s support the globalist candidate DeSantis
Disgusting, really disgusting . I am overwhelmed with sadness for my children and Grandchildren.
Title 42 authority was not a ‘Trump law’. He made use of it’s provisions when Rona was a ‘pandemic’. If we agree that the time has passed for mandates and lockdown because Rona crisis is over then we have to accept that the emergency provisions under Title 42 are also over.
As to the establishment no one least of all me cares for them. They are absolutely not on our side. Yet DJT endorsed McCarthy for his bid to become Speaker. Curious.
Many States have honest elections. Yours included. The establishment views DeSantis as the lesser of two evils between him and Trump. They would much prefer Larry Hogan, Kristi Noem, Pence or Pompeo but none of those have any chance.
“Yet DJT endorsed McCarthy for his bid to become Speaker. Curious.”
Trump is under no illusions regarding these people. What Trump’s goal is/was is to restore America to the path of greatness. That’s what you, and others, consistently miss. Co-opting is better than fighting the establishment. Now, that might be a mistake, but that’s the reasoning.
There is nothing “curious” about it.
Look we have a zealot who thinks he some kind of trump whisperer!
Barry,
Which one is co-opting the the other? I ask because he allowed Paul Ryan of all people as Speaker and McCarthy as majority leader to present him a budget that didn’t include funding for the wall.
He allowed Ryan and McCarthy to roll him and not deliver on his primary campaign issue, building a wall. We still don’t have a completed wall and are damn sure paying the price for that lack of follow through by DJT.
Chief, you’re approaching the level of ridiculous.
You would have Trump do what to get his own party to fund the wall?
Be precise.
Veto the budget. That’s what he told the public he would do if funding and authorization was not in that budget.
Choose to fight the establishment over the issue. Break them and bring them to heel. He decided to break his campaign promise instead.
Unreal. President Trump may not have signed Title 42 into law but the implementation, as well as other actions directed to secure and safeguard the border were his policies and you can’t even bring yourself to acknowledge that let alone give him any credit. That’s Rhino fair. And why must we accept that Title 42 has no application? Has Biden ended the Covid emergency? No, he’s extentended it. And might thousands (millions) of illegals with no health records pose a health risk notwithstanding Covid? Just curious. Is this an example of the great Alabama push-back you bragged about or you just full of it? I think the latter.
That wasn’t the argument put forward. Instead gonzo put forward the, incorrect, argument that Title 42 was a creation of Trump. The exact quote was:
‘…proposition 42 is going to end, another great Trump law…’
I am more than happy to give DJT credit for using the authority granted under Title 42 in a Pandemic to restrict immigration. In fact I did just that in my comments while also pointing out that since the Pandemic is over that the use of Title 42 was also at an end.
I don’t understand why you would attack me for factual statements or why you choose to ignore the truth in order to advance your argument. Perhaps you were unaware of the actual facts in the use of Title 42?
This is like trying to decide what to have for birthday dinner in two years.
Watching the way they have tried to destroy him is telling. Trump is the one that takes on the system. That is clear. DeSantis, who really knows?
Um, DeSantis was one of two governors who refused to lock down.
Ahh no, he did lock down for months, but he changed his mind later.
Noem was the only one that didn’t lock down.. period
Down voting the truth?
Dang, I’m going to take that personal
Hogwash. Whitewash. Lies.
DeSantis did not “refuse to lockdown”. He did lockdown.
To his credit he recognized it was a failure and unlocked.
But he was behind others that are not talked about nor promoted with falsehood. Wonder why?
(answer: the china owned GOPe)
I remember the beaches were closed for a short period. Stay indoors for your health.
Ok know, he is the system
“DeSantis, who really knows?”
A good question. One without a 100% clear answer.
OTOH, true history (not fables) yield fairly accurate answers. And that answer is that the candidate and elected are owned by the big $$$ donors almost 100% of the time. A few, very few, courageous individuals have shown up on occasion.
So, look at the donors. And are the meetings in the open or behind closed doors?
All political candidates meet with donors, mostly “behind closed doors.” Including Trump (and this is just from this year, he did it in 2015, 2016, throughout his presidency, and especially before the ’20 election–there is NOTHING wrong with it. Not when Trump does it, not when any candidate does it.):
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-holding-meetings-with-top-donors-ufc-vaccines-2024-bid-2022-7?op=1
It’s really not hard to find information about Trump’s meetings with donors. Just do a search. Lots come up:
https://pagesix.com/2018/08/19/trump-meets-with-high-dollar-donors-at-hamptons-fundraiser/
https://www.politico.com/news/2022/07/13/trump-2024-secret-donor-dinners-00045665
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2016/06/09/report-donald-trump-meets-donors-trump-tower/
Are you going to condemn this or just recognize that it’s perfectly normal, perfectly legal. While I’m not a fan of all that money (i.e. possible influence) in politics, it’s the system we have. Saying one person can take part with impunity but everyone else is somehow “bought” is just . . . factually incorrect and illogical.
I must admit I’m somewhat disappointed in this thread. Given the tenor of recent LI discussion on this topic, I was expecting a bit of a slugfest.
I know what you mean. I had to throw away half of my popcorn.
Hee!
Donald Trump is not a Conservative. However, he has performed a lot of Conservative actions; regulatory reforms, tax policy and other pro growth items.
Getting Judges and Justices confirmed that preserve our Constitution is a legacy that will benefit us for decades.
He allowed too many leftist holdovers in the deep state to stifle his adjenda. And they did, practically unfettered.
If the Republican party does not win the Presidency and make significant inroads in the House and Senate in the next cycle, it could easily be over. Laws will be made, rules changed and regulations formulated that the opposition to the Democrat party will not be able to recove from. A Conservative Supreme Court will be ignored and marginalized.
He went into office with 75% of his “people, including Pence, all traitors, stabbing him in the back at every opportunity. He was constantly give erroneous advice and threaten at every turn. He was impeached Twice.. twice for nothing. I could piss on Romney if I ever see him..pig…
My God , the senate so Called republican leader McConnell, refused to let him fill
positions during recess. He had virtually no support and still
Look at what he did.. for us…
But my God, he should have done more
You people are real wonders!
You’re right. Trump really sucked at picking his staff and cabinet. What made anybody think he could actually pick good people? Oh yeah, a TV show.
Trump didn’t “suck” at picking his staff, the GOPe stuffed his choices. Those choices, at the top levels, mostly had to get through senate confirmation which was owned lock, stock, and barrel by china owned McConnell and company.
“Republican” McConnell had the senate in session 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for a reason. Do you even know why or what it meant?
Now, point us to one of your comments predicting that Jeff Sessions would be a bad choice.
You can’t, you wont. Because it didn’t happen.
The Trump picks that did not have to go through confirmation were routinely good to excellent. But no one is 100%.
“Donald Trump is not a Conservative. However, he has performed a lot of Conservative actions…”
My goodness, what qualifies as conservative in your feeble mind? Name the non-conservative actions that President Trump performed.
Crickets.
A conservative is defined by conservative action.
Definitely not a conservative on spending and stimulus bills.
Definitely a conservative given the result being the best economy in my lifetime of 70 years. That is a fundamental fact.
The republican party spent that money, they held the house and that is where the spending begins.
Read the damn constitution and try to learn something.
Trump fanboys and Glock fanboys have a lot in common. 😂
If Trump is the nominee, I will vote for him. I’m just not sure I want him as the nominee. He spends too much time recovering after he shoots himself in the foot. Why start off the election with the candidate with the highest negatives to overcome?
Because he’s the only one that can and will fight for us.
I really
Can’t believe people are this naive!
He is only fighting for himself. He can’t win and is trying to run for ego reasons.
gonzo,
What happens if the man dies between now and the r convention in the summer of 2024? The man will be 78 years old before the nominating convention.
Who are your top three alternatives if that were to happen?
What happens should DeSantis kick the bucket?
78 is looking pretty young for some people.
Let’s see, do I want a proven (read the list) president that will do what he says, is an honest man as proven by tens of millions of dollar investigations, or do I want to take a chance on someone supported by Paul Ryan and Rupert Murdoch, among others.
Hmm, not really a tough decision.
Barry,
You side stepped the focus of the question which is were DJT not available. who are your top 3 alternatives?
DJT’s primary campaign promise was construction of a wall along our Southern Border with Mexico. He did not deliver on that promise. You can make all the excuses you wish for why he failed to deliver on the wall but we didn’t get what we voted for.
Hey, I’m just following the same path you do with respect to side stepping questions.
Why don’t you provide answers to mine and I’ll respond with sincere answers to yours. Until then, I’m not playing your silly games.
It is a fact that the republicans held the house and the senate for the first two years Trump was in office. and it was the republican party that refused to provide adequate funding and authorization to build the wall.
Trump found other ways to reduce illegal immigration to the lowest level since Eisenhower. A wall will only help when you man it, and would make no difference in the current administration.
Your statement does one thing and one thing only, makes you a person on the other side. Your pretense at being fair to all side is blown. You are nothing more than what you appear to be, a fake, a fraud.
Barry,
Trump could have vetoed that budget. but choose not to do so. In that choice he also broke his campaign promise to build a border wall.
Fact 1. We don’t have a completed border
wall.
Fact 2. DJT promised us a completed wall
Fact 3. Ryan and McConnell delivered a budget without funding/authorization for the Border Wall.
Fact 4. DJT had the option to Veto that bill.
Fact 5. DJT didn’t exercise that option
Fact 6. Ryan and McConnell didn’t want a Border Wall
Fact 7. DJT failed by allowing Ryan and McConnell a victory over not only himself but over those of us who voted for him because of his promise to build a Wall.
Those are all facts not make believe. The truth is painful sometimes but that doesn’t make it any less true.
Your ad hominem attacks undercut your both your argument and your credibility. Please don’t project at me nor question my integrity.
http://thebullelephant.com/in-114-races-trump-endorsed-candidates-underperformed-those-trump-ignored/
In 114 competitive House races, Trump-endorsed Republican candidates underperformed by 5 percentage points while those who weren’t Trump-endorsed overperformed by 2.2 points, calculated Phillip Wallach of the conservative American Enterprise Institute. Trump-endorsed candidates tend to lose in the general election if they run in Congressional districts that have similar numbers of Democrats and Republicans. That’s partly because independents tend to dislike the sort of Republicans Trump prefers. Some independents also hold against a candidate the fact that he was endorsed by Trump. This is a problem for the GOP, because most Americans are either independents or Democrats, not Republicans who love Trump. Wallach says Trump weighed down Republican candidates, allowing the Democrats to win key races for seats in Congress.
I am calling that BS. And if your so sure, let’s split the party, Trumps American party be the Republicans and see who gets the most votes
It will start with an “A”
If DJT thought he could create a 3rd party and successfully run as it’s nominee for President he would have done so.
DJT recognizes that is a pipe dream and I am not at all surprised because the man is highly intelligent.
“…because the man is highly intelligent.”
But is he disciplined?
🙂
No he isn’t disciplined if he is meeting with Ye, Milo and Fuentes despite his staff telling him to at least exclude Milo and Fuentes.
Overruling and/or ignoring good recommendations from staff, especially when his own judgment about what others may conclude about a particular act is not the best.
In fact it would be another example of DJT simply deciding he doesn’t care what others think. Which would be fine except he needs the votes of others to secure the nomination. That means he either stops the YOLO shit to gain those votes or he is refusing to do whatever it takes to win.
It’s that simple. Either he will kiss babys and suck up to voters to win or he won’t go all in to secure victory. His choice.
It doesn’t make a difference who the nominee will be with the present voting system. The door is closing on a multiparty country and into the world of one party rule… forever. Think Orwell, think boot, think face… if lucky… a little Huxley for the holidays. How much of the anti-Trump sentiment has been nudged from the Left and now incorporated into mainstream thought? These are professionals who have overthrown countries and fashioned and are fashioning the narrative. Rush mentioned his concern that GW Bush was intentionally mislead on WMD. As for later nation buildings and such.. all GWB. My take is that the Dems will indict and a D.C. jury will convict Trump in the greatest show trial in USSA history. They can’t damage him enough any other way. And then they will go after DeSantis. Taking Queen Victoria to heart…..when that day comes just lie back and think of Trump and the US before 11/3/2020.
Scanning the most recent headlines, I see there is still nothing at Legal Insurrection regarding stolen elections. Not a peep.
Makes one wonder.
I agree with you 1000%. For some reason there’s no discussion about the court cases either. So Strange?
Odd, ain’t it. “Legal Insurrection”, LOL, not much insurrection going on.
There were no court cases.
I know, never
I’m guessing this poll is just as rigged.
That you are serious speaks volumes to your delusion.
By whom, Barry? Professor Jacobson? This website? You are making a serious accusation here, and it’s not okay.
Can you let us know which legal actions have been filed and in what States for 2022 midterm shenanigans?
Hey chief, do you think that is proof the elections have been conducted fairly?
Can you let us know what you think instead of asking silly questions?
Are you stating the 2020 election was fairly conducted, that when 18 of 19 bellwether counties went for Trump they were wrong for the first time ever?
Are you stating the 2020 election was fairly conducted in spite of the fact that in six states were Trump was winning, the corrupt democrat big city in each state stopped counting, and then several hours later they restarted and the result instantly changed, and the counting was done with only corrupt democrats in attendance?
Are you stating the 2020 election was fairly conducted when the Atlanta counters pulled suitcases full of ballots from under a table when they thought the observers were all gone, forgetting the observation camera’s?
Are you stating the 2020 election was fairly conducted when the dope biden received 81 million votes, exceeding the 69.5 million Obama got in 2008 (more than 2012)?
That should do for starters.
Intellect is required. Just because the court system (the same one that lets killers loose) hasn’t taken up the election fraud and just because the republican party that was in on the fraud hasn’t done anything about it doesn’t mean there wasn’t substantial election result changing fraud.
Joe Biden, 81,284,666 votes. LOL, sure pull the other one.
We are all familiar with the very clear deviations from the elections laws and procedure by some States and jurisdictions in 2020. No doubt there were shenanigans.
I was asking for examples in the 2022 midterms. AZ seems obvious but I am unaware of a current legal challenge. I believe the CT ruled that Maricopa results couldn’t be challenged until the election was complete which includes certification.
Do you have any new examples in 2022?
Once you answer the prior question from me then we can get to your later questions.
That’s how it works. You don’t get to try and bully me and make demands and call me names while expecting I will roll over for it.
One county was told it is a felony if they don’t certify the election. That’s not a court case but I find it odd. Why have the requirement if not doing it is a felony? In other news I hear lawsuits can’t be filed until the elections are certified. that sounds backwards. With LI being a legal blog, I thought there may be an article about the AZ elections and what legal actions Kari can take. Her lawyer now works on a project for the RNC. Strange how that worked out for everyone.
That’s a very fair question.
The AZ situation did have a live case but it was put on hold until after certification by the Judge in the case. The plaintiffs were told they can only challenge post completed election which the Judge ruled includes certification but very importantly will accept a challenge at that time.
The issue of Hobbs as a candidate and acting as the SoS and the overseer for elections definitely needs more coverage. Most already know this but Hobbs antics since election day could use more ink.
We saw things in 2020 and 2022 that need to be addressed quickly like removing observers and putting cardboard over the windows. What’s the remedy. In AZ it was ballots stored in box 3 and transported to another location. Somethings need immediate attention rather than wait until we certify and then it’s too late. I would like some sunlight on Marocopa county. Hobbs didn’t do anything including campaign. That was her contribution. In other words she was not going to stop and fix any problems that benefited her including AZ establishment Republicans fighting MAGA candidates in Maricopa county. As for other counties delaying the certification that was political posturing. The results were okay in their counties and they should certify their results. They shouldn’t hold up the elections because another county screwed the pooch. That should fall to the AZ AG or legislature. So more info on that would be nice because I’m just speculating using common sense.
it would be nice to have ‘immediate remedies’ on site to stop the shenanigans. How do you propose that be done since you are rejecting the CT?
AZ has a bunch of internal drama between several groups of r/conservatives. They didn’t all coalesce around the eventual r nominee. Then there is the dynamic of the County elections boards refusing to bark on command for Hobbs. Lots of issues.
Most of the issue in Maripoca wasn’t outright theft or fraud. Instead it was at best incompetence and at worst deliberate failure designed to frustrate in person voters so that they didn’t vote and sow confusion. Seems to have worked.
Some of that failure at the polling place could have been averted by not putting all the eggs in the election day basket. The r are going to have to embrace the new rules and use the mailed ballots and ballot collection to compete.
We don’t know what happened in Maricopa county on Election Day other than 30% to 60% of the locations in heavy R areas had issues with the equipment lasting most of the day. However the equipment was tested before the election and worked fine. The voter turnout by party in the county was quite different than the vote % reported. That is odd and I can’t explain it. If the courts will hear the case and request a do over for Maricopa county, that would be ground breaking but my expectations are another ruling saying whatever happened was not fraud and if there were problems they didn’t affect the outcome.
Commo”chief”‘s job is to prevaricate, to provide phony cover for the GOPe.
Barry,
Tend to your knitting. It’s clear you are taking a path towards being a bullying self appointed hall monitor.
Unless we fall to our knees and adopt your position we are somehow in the thrall of the establishment. Not even close.
If can’t present a logical argument then stay on the porch, don’t try and run with the big dogs. Innuendo, ad hominem attacks and other childish antics don’t make the cut. Peddle your bullying bull shit to someone who might be impressed. I frankly don’t care.
Where’s Ye?
In his bedroom, hanging a vintage Hitler World Tour poster he found at an adorable little antique shop outside of Salzburg.
When you leave Alex Jones speechless you have really stepped in it.
🙂
The Democrats will have sufficient ballots in 2024 to have their candidate sworn-in in 2025. Elections are now purely for show now. It doesn’t matter who is nominated by the Republican Party.
What difference does it all make, if Michelle Obama runs?? We all know the Obamas make Progressives legs tingle, and she will get the black vote. They want to continue to call us all RACISTS and keep us divided.
I’m not going to talk about Michele’s race but I might mention her large butt and her broad shoulders. At one time she had the press swooning over her arms. They are such fanboys.
Trump was a fearless and great president who fought the Deeo State and the woke left in the same way as Ronald Reagan-his narcissistic personality doomed his future-DeSantis also is a fearless and great governor who fights the Deeo State and the woke left but without being a narcisssist about it. I think that he would make a superb nominee who could rally and unfiy the various elements of Trump’s coalition and successfully challenge any Democrat in 2024.
Follow the money on DeSantis
I mean really, you’ll come to a different conclusion
How dare you go on crusade against Ken Griffin.
We need more billionaires launching personal crusade against CRT and frankly I would trade the Trump tax cuts for eliminating CRT from the classroom in a second with no second thoughts.
Follow the money? Yep he is being rewarded for using his position as governor correctly.
Now knock off the bolshevism, I have attacked the elites a lot here, but only for things they have done never for being rich.
“his narcissistic personality”
Apparently people like you, throwing out psychological terms, have no idea what the meaning of the terms are.
Trump lost money being president, and is willing to do it again. Trump donated his near half a million salary while president and will likely do so again. That’s not what a narcissist does. You should top parroting the lefts every word, because that is all you do. The marxist left loves people like you, monkey see, monkey do.
Ever hear of DeSantis prior to being the Florida Gov?
No, because he was just a cog in the GOPe, content to wait on his turn. No fighting back against the woke mob, no fighting back against the fake news, not a peep.
The GOPe looks around for someone they can “STOP TRUMP” with, and DeSantis is the man chosen. Then they go to work creating the persona required, modeled on President Trump, then they line up the $$$ to pay for it all. Campaign consultants from the deep state, secret meetings with the donors (promises, promises, promises), all scripted as thought he’s a Bush.
Now, maybe DeSantis is the real deal and will turn his back on the marxist GOPe and the big money donors as soon as he would get in office.
But that’s not the way this works, no one has ever done that. They dance to the masters tune, and the master is not American. The master is now owned by the chinese.
Blindness is a hallmark of dopes. Don’t be a dope.
Catching flak, means you’re over the target, as the saying goes.
I don’t back anyone for anything 2 years out. A lot can happen between now and then. When the election year comes and the campaigns actually start, I’ll start formulating who I want to be the nominee. Needless to say, the Republican who wins the nomination will get my vote.
I, and it appears I am the only one, am not surprised that Nikki Haley came in Third. I met her twice while she was Governor of South Carolina and have been following her career closely ever since. She is far more capable than anyone else on that list. She exudes “class”. She is a fantastic speaker and can go toe-to-toe with anyone. And she is BIPOC. Just look at her record at the UN. IMHO a Haley/Youngkin ticket could not be beat, even with the cheating the dems will ramp up. I have nothing against DeSantis. He is my Governor and I love him. But he can’t measure up to Nikki in many ways, experience on the international front being one of them. “Class” being another.
DeSantis is just another wimpy Republican,..he backed down on Disney and he stopped exporting illegals after CNN yelled at him…Xi and Putin would eat his lunch in about 30 seconds
Well, when the time comes, make the choice at hand in the situation as it stands, then. This year’s Red Ripple shows us the reality in play:
— The votes are there. The Feckless R’s collected something like 5 million more ballots than The Screaming D’s.
— The carnage vs. fundamentals was at national level.
— The successes were grass roots, and significant, like two flipped-Red house seats from NY State.
— The Opposition Party wants to stay the opposition. They won’t drive winning elections, positions in govt, placement in the administrative apparatus, or policies.
The Feckless R’s can be used as a Trojan Horse, work-around the two-party capture of ballot access. Vote them in, but hold them to what we require. Who that is depends on the situation at hand at the time. Place the bets when we have to, not before.
I wonder if the LI poll results would be any different now after Musk’s data drop proving Twitter and DNC collusion prior to and immediately after 2020 election. This information plus evidence that Facebook also meddled (not to mention all those mail in voting issues) strongly suggests that Trump’s election was indeed stolen. Would the fact that he should be our President now make any commenter change his/her vote?
If we’re talking “treat us like public carriers when it’s convenient for us” ecectronic and communication”platforms ” you left out Google (and YouTube, which they own) ranking / prioritizing search results differently.
If we’re talking other communication interference, you left out crashing Parler, becasue “We’re a private company and don’t have to do business with anybody we don’t want to, unlike you.”
“Make that gay wedding cake, you bigots!”
“Make that rianbow god, you white supremicists.”
“Hey, it ain’t hate speech calling you names because reasons.”
I do wonder how a small-town, privately owned, local bakery is less of a public accommodation, than the various pan-naional social sites.
