Report: Stacey Abrams Campaign Owes Over $1 Million to Vendors

Huge debt despite raising over $100 million.

Stacey Abrams’ second gubernatorial campaign raised over $100 million and lost.

However…Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign manager Lauren Groh-Wargo that the campaign owes over $1 million to vendors.

The tight money situation hit the campaign right after the election. Most of the full-time staffers received notice that their last paycheck would come a week after the election.

Excuses, excuses:

  • “People have told me they have no idea how they’re going to pay their rent in January,” one former staffer told Axios. “It was more than unfortunate. It was messed up.”

Driving the news: Groh-Wargo told Axios that a “cavalcade of negative press and negative polling” made fundraising difficult in the final months. She said the campaign had engaged brokers to sell their donor and voter contact databases to try to pay down the debt over time.

  • “We did not just lose, we got blown out,” she said. “It was the most sub-optimal situation to be in. And we will be dealing with that situation for some time.”

What they’re saying: “Of course, I would have loved to do a lot of things differently,” Groh-Wargo said. “But I had to move as fast as possible.”

  • “We tried to do the best we could to make sure that help would be there for folks,” she said, pointing to health insurance benefits that lasted through November.

Another Abrams campaign staffer explained, “that the compensation was high for campaigns.” That means the campaign overpaid people.

Abrams ran out of money during the 2018 primary. Georgia Democratic operative Chris Huttman described the money problems as a “well-documented pattern.”

Groh-Wargo brushed off comparisons to the 2018 primary. I guess she doesn’t like people pointing out her faults.

The other Georgia campaigns had no problems with money:

Gov. Brian Kemp’s campaign staff was paid through November, plus bonuses. Staff for both Herschel Walker and Sen. Raphael Warnock are being paid through December — all according to campaign officials.

Maybe Abrams can fork over some money from any appearances or TV spots she has in the near future.

This will no doubt be deemed RAYCISS by the hefty gap-toothed race hustler.

She may get Con-Yee or Snewp Dawg to write a check.

Sounds like some forensic accounting for an audit might clear this up.

Remember she only had about a half million in assets and college debt when she started her first run for Governor and ended up with no college debt and $3 million in liquid assets. What is her net worth after this failed run?

Ever watch the movie or play, The Producers? The premise is that you can make as much money—or even ~more~ money—on Broadway with a flop than with a hit.

Why? Because with a hit, you have to pay off your investors. With a flop, nobody expects to get paid anything since it bombed. So if you somehow know that you have a total dog of a play, you could sell, say, 1000% of it, spend 100%, and walk away with the difference.

(In The Producers, they do just that with the play, Springtime For Hitler. Things don’t exactly work out as planned….)

Perhaps Ms. Abrams has more smarts than she’s been credited with. She’s very good at swinging back and forth between righteous anger and poor me.

Except that if I remember correctly both Bialystock & Bloom ended up in prison for fraud at the end of the movie/play. And I hardly doubt that’s going to happen to Abrams or any other democrat that ends up profiting from their election campaigns.

That is precisely the aim of the so called 21st Century Socialism. In other words: Get a Government position to fill your pockets. Heck with the suckers that voted for you. Well practiced in South America, and in full gear now in the US.

Fraud! She has a habit of running out on debts.

So, exactly like she would have run the state?

That’s all? That’s barely lunch money for her.

Wait a minute. She is a multiple protected class. Black, female, Leftist, and a Democrat candidate. Can she be held to the law or be compelled to pay debts?

Subotai Bahadur

Maybe she could have Hunter Biden teach her how to make million dollar paintings.

You know how it is when it comes to how those people not being able to handle money.

/Democrat campaign finance people. Who did you think I meant?!?

Maybe learn a few things from Sam Bank-Fraud how to make a few billion

She seems to not have cut back on her meal per-diem spending.

And that was just her bill at Golden Corral.

Awesome financial management skills, Stacy! Georgia twice dodged a bullet by rejecting this incompetent individual. It’s a mystery why anyone would ever vote for any Democrat–they’re turning our country into Venezuela.

Maybe she can sell some of her high fashion outfits to Hillary. They are about the same size and have similar interest in stylish design.

Back to her old job as steamroller ballast.

No probs. She’s going to pay all of them off in FTX-coin.

She chooses her vendors well! She does look a little like SBF.

‘Ole tons ‘o Fun, doesn’t care. It’s just for the little people(everyone by her standards) and it’s not her money.

Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas. Twas ever thus

Seems to me that it should be illegal for campaigns to borrow money. Scenario 1: vendor refuses credit, candidate wins and seeks revenge. Scenario 2: vendor extends credit profusely, candidate loses and can’t/won’t pay but has essentially extracted an involuntary campaign donation from the vendor. Scenario 3: vendor extends credit, candidate wins and pressures vendor to forgive the loan.

It ain’t over ’til Stacey Abrams sings.

“A cavalcade of negative press.”

Yeah I guess that’s one way to describe multiple magazine cover stories and a TV guest appearance slobbering over you for no other reason than your sex and race and your ability to mouth juvenile political slogans.

I’m sure the loss has NOTHING to do with people seeing through this self-serving mediocrity’s track record of absolute nothingness and is just bad press and racism of course. “Systemic” even.

Maybe they can hold some bake sales to raise the funds!
