Joe Biden Boasts About Plans to Shut Down Coal Plants ‘All Across America’ Three Days Before Midterms

“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs”

Energy is one of the issues dogging Democrats in this midterm election cycle, but apparently no one has let Joe Biden in on that.

Biden was speaking at an event in California this week and talked about a coal plant in Massachusetts which is being converted to produce wind power. He then boasted about plans to close coal plants across the country.

Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, realizing he has been played by Biden, reacted harshly.

Paul Sacca writes at The Blaze:

Joe Biden vows to shut down coal plants ‘all across America,’ Joe Manchin fires back with stern counterattack: ‘It is time he learn a lesson’

President Joe Biden vowed to shut down coal plants “all across America” during a speech on Friday. Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin from West Virginia shot back at President Biden and demanded he apologize for his remarks.

Biden claimed that coal plants “cost too much money.”

“So it’s going to become a wind generation,” Biden said at an event in Carlsbad, California. “And all they’re doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on.”

Biden proclaimed, “We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”

On Saturday, Manchin fired back at Biden on his plan to shut down coal plants – which would severely impact his home state of West Virginia.

“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs,” Manchin began his statement.

Here’s the video:

As usual, the White House rushed to ‘clarify’ Biden’s remarks.

The Hill reports:

White House says Biden’s coal comments have been ‘twisted’ after Manchin criticism

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Saturday said President Biden’s comments on the coal industry had been “twisted” after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) earlier in the day criticized the remarks.

“The President’s remarks yesterday have been twisted to suggest a meaning that was not intended; he regrets it if anyone hearing these remarks took offense,” Jean-Pierre said in a statement…

Jean-Pierre said on Saturday that “President Biden knows that the men and women of coal country built this nation” and emphasized the reduction in unemployment rates in West Virginia, one of the largest coal-producing states in the nation, since Biden took office.

Pennsylvania is also coal country.

Biden isn’t a gift from God. He is a curse from the Devil.

Now the dictator is claiming we took that wrong.

As is often, but accurately said, you can’t make this shit up.

“Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, realizing he has been played by Biden, reacted harshly.”

just figured that out, did ya? Manchin is an idiot.

He didn’t just ‘realize he has been played’.

MANCHIN KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING THE WHOLE WAY.

He just wanted plausible deniability so WHEN the refused to rework permitting he could play the, ‘aw gee SHUCKS guys, I thought we had a deal but gosh darnit those Democrats just won’t deliver!’

He massively overplayed his hand and conservatives are sick of his fake moderate act. Manchin is frantic and desperate because nobody is buying his BS anymore.

Why should an old demented child molester bother with clever political rhetoric when his party can simply steal another election with impunity?

Hey Dr. Manchinstein, you helped give birth to the monster. It’s a bad look to try and blame him.

1. Manchin comes to Biden’s aid and supports his legislation.

2 Biden returns the favor by stabbing Manchin in the back.

3. Manchin realizes he’s been had.

4. After moaning and groaning, Manchin decides to do northing.

I understand NYS blocked a gas line that would have provided gas for New England. What will New Englanders do when there’s no gas and no coal? I also read yesterday that construction of the offshore windfarm that had been planned to supply electricity to Massachusetts is not going to happen because of increases in costs and interest rates. New Englanders might come to their senses and see the folly of listening to watermelon scientists when they begin to freeze and experience rolling blackouts.

“What will New Englanders do when there’s no gas and no coal?”

    Whale oil. “Screw the whales!”
Oh wait, that gets them only light — not heat.
I know! Burn the books from the Harvard and Yale libraries!

The odds of New Englanders coming to their senses is bloody small. What will they do? Well, first they will freeze in the winter because there is no way to get fuel or power to them. They do not believe in consequences for what they do, and they are about to be taught a lesson. Second, if enough of the survivors do learn something, it will take literally years to build the necessary infrastructure, And incidentally, every effort to fix things will be fought tooth and nail by the Left and delayed more.

So there will be more freezing, and I rather suspect that businesses and people are going to find that it is easier to move themselves than wait for the infrastructure.

    Subotai Bahadur

I rather suspect that businesses and people are going to find that it is easier to move themselves than wait for the infrastructure.

Which is really bad news for the red-state South.

Whatever happened t the Interstate Commerce Clause of the US Constitution? WHY did NY block the pipeline? On what grounds?

Take it offshore, like Russia have done. Then NYS would have to go find some sand to pound. Leave NYS with their offshore windmills… something at which their sick politicians can use to entertain themselves as they engage in jousting at them…..

Manchin, from the most powerful man in America, straight to the doghouse of irrelevancy, with nothing to show for it.

Impressive.

I’m beginning to think that this man believes that he is the Reverend Jim Jones – or possibly he thinks that he’s the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
DC (and all its inhabitants) has become a total farce!

“Biden proclaimed, “We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”

Time for YOU to follow the science, you squamous horror.

Send someone to ask the admin exactly how they will be providing:
    1. reliable delivery of power v potential power when the sun don’t shine and the wind don’t blow
    2. How much excess potential capacity in solar and wind is needed
    3. How much battery storage to Smith out the peak production to peak usage?
    4. How much average that will require?
    5. How much use of eminent domain to construct new transmission lines all over to get the power from the site of production/storage to point of use?
    6. Over what time frame can this transition be done?
    7. Total cost?
    8. How much lithium, nickel other commodities in short supply will be needed?
    9. How does that amount compare with current availability?
    10. Where will it be sourced?
    11. Will the greens buy in to allow domestic mining?
    12. Will the admin commit to allowing only domestic mining of the resources and manufacturing of these products so that we can be certain companies comply with highest income environmental standards?

Yes. In the 90’s I worked in 2 coal-fired power plants. It was simple. You dig up some dirt (coal) in your own state, load it on a train and/or truck, ship it to the power plan. Burn it and produce power at will. Very cheap, even with scrubbers that take out the vast majority of air pollutants. Again, very cheap power. I go fishing in an old coal-mining strip pit, it’s a beautiful lake in the woods. Lots of deer, turkey, etc. Then the lies came, and here we are.

Been way past time for Unka Dopey to follow the US Constitution. He is the chief executive… the one who enforces or executes (makes to happen) laws the Congress enact. I am wondering this: on what LEGAL basis can HE declare which industries will “be allowed” to survive, and which will be taken down? This is WAY outside his job description. If I were the New England states I’d be suingfor violation of the INterstate Commerce Clause. How I heat MY home/business is of no more concern to Umk Dopey than is what I had for supper. OR what kind of car I drive, and I’m certain he’d claim the authority to address that decision of MINE.

    STAY IN YOUR LANE, Joe.

I am so over Joe Manchin and his “outrage”. He is and has been a lap dog for the left for years. Come on West Virginia, wake up and get your head out of your ass if this creep runs again!

It occurs to me Brandon is acting as the CCP’s enforcer of weakening and destroying America. As we shut down coal plants China is ramping them up. As our manufacturing industries decline China’s are increasing. As our military declines China’s is increasing. What information does the CCP have on Brandon and his family that has made Brandon the Manchurian Candidate that he is?

This shyte would change very quickly if there was ever a way to turn off the heat in the White House for a few days during some cold winter weather, as well as anywhere else Biden happens to be residing. Let him freeze his pruney wrinkly incontinent tush off for a while. That will change his tune, fast.

That’s what you get with a demented old man running the country with no idea of the real world. Hopefully Tuesday the message will be sent times they are a changing

Biden the Dolt, seems unaware the MA wind farm(s) were cancelled last week. The project was way too expensive, the wind studies showed it vulnerable to hurricanes, and it could not possibly duplicate the reliability of coal.

Biden promising nation-wide blackouts as a campaign theme? Let me guess the media didn’t highlight this.

Come on guys. We should be cheering Brandon. This has two benefits. it makes him look like a fool right in front of an election. More importantly, it pisses off Manchin, who may be critical to the Dems trying to cram through some legislation before they lose control of Congress.

The Democrat Lame Duck Congress will try and push through more Loot the Treasury bills than you can even imagine. The New Congress needs to repeal them wholesale.

randian in reply to MattMusson. | November 7, 2022 at 8:23 pm

The New Congress needs to repeal them wholesale.

You can be certain they won’t, even if they had the votes to overcome Biden’s veto. For example, they didn’t deliver an Obamacare repeal bill to Trump when they knew he would sign it. Progressive legislative initiatives are a one-way ratchet.

This college produces some of the most awoke women in this country who have never paid a bill in their lives

Notice that Brandon has never visited a crime victim or offered condolences or sympathy except for Paul Pelosi

What a pathetic old fart.

Biden working hard on that winter of death and despair.

Comanche Voter | November 7, 2022 at 1:14 am

Biden was never all that bright; he earned and deserved the title “Dumbest Man In the Senate”. But he’s really going gaga these days.

I’m sorry but seriously, does anyone really believe Joe Biden knows what’s coming out of his mouth any more? The man is more likely to repeat his lines from his junior high school play than say anything coherent or intelligent. (Maybe it was The Death of a Salesman?) The truly scary thing is that the bench is so bad that our best chance is for him to hang on for two more years.

Please, please, where ever you are, vote Republican. We’ll sort out the mail-in ballot, post mark date, received date, unsigned, undated, duplicate vote, unregistered voter, counterfeit ballot, un-mailed absentee ballot, lost ballot, broken voting machine battles after Election Day. Sheesh. What a mess.

We all know Biden isn’t the brightest bulb in the chandelier. However, Manchin is even worse. He could have stopped all of this when he was fighting Dems by declaring himself an independent and caucusing with the Republicans. None of this would be going on now and, the irony is, the Democrats probably wouldn’t be in danger of losing the Senate.

BiteYourTongue | November 7, 2022 at 11:45 am

If anyone knows anything about wind power, that would be Biden, as he is full of wind.
