Progressives Angry About DeSantis Sending Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard are Suddenly Experts on Jesus and Religion

“Where in the Bible can you cite support for treating the poor, hungry and oppressed (including kids) this way?”

One of the most amazing aspects of the story of Ron DeSantis sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard is the left’s sudden embrace of religion.

Over the last 48 hours, countless progressives and never-Trumpers have discovered Christianity in their outrage over this.

Here are a few examples:

These are the same people who regulary mock people of faith for believing in a ‘sky God’ when it suits them politically.

Conservative talk host Jesse Kelly has often said that people on the right must stop allowing the left to use their own values against them. It’s summed up in this meme:

Kelly mentions it here.

Tucker Carlson had a good time with this story last night. Watch:

Progressives are outraged about this because in sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, DeSantis has called their bluff. Their rush to religion in their anger is telling.

And the immigrants were all promptly deported from Martha’s Vineyard.

“Hello, Sheriff, this is Barack Obama. I am calling to report there is an Hispanic man standing in front of my mansion. And, he isn’t holding a leaf blower!”

What the people on the left don’t understand or ignore, is that Biden’s administration is sending thousands and thousands of men, women and children on buses and planes all over the country. They refuse to complain about that, but send a few hundred to blue enclaves…THEN they get their dander up. I guess those “unwashed heathens” were upsetting the prima donnas in Martha’s Vineyard with their presence. They already have their servants and gardeners.

And they were all removed from the island within minutes… DeSantis needs to put together a cruise ship of 50 thousand souls and deliver them there all at once.

For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully.

To the lib hypocrites who couldn’t wait to deport the illegals:

I just don’t think the whole “trafficking” gambit is going to fly

the libs/progs can lecture/sermonize all they want

the facts are that when confronted with even a miniscule example of what’s going on at the southern border, the libs/progs wailed/ran/back-pedalled or lied–all the while revealing their TRUE colors/intentions/values

time for them to grow up and live in the adult world, where actions (and votes) have consequences

Note to liberals: Human trafficking is done for money. When you move people to make a political point, it’s not trafficking.

In fact, the cost of transportation is possibly 2 orders of magnitude less than taking care of them in TX.

With all of their wealth and political influence, 50 homeless people topples their world. Tough crowd.

What a bunch of hypocritical morons. Biden* has been flying illegals all over the country for over a year now. Plus, his open border policy is encouraging them to hike across badlands and other rugged desert terrain at great risk. Large percentages of them are raped by the coyotes and cartel thugs.

In short, these prog virtue signalers should really just STFU.

Further, they act like he shipped them to some hell hole like Lawrence or Springfield. He sent them to MV, one of the wealthiest communities in the country and one of the most beautiful spots in the state. I am sure the migrants were delighted. It certainly beats sleeping under a bridge in El Paso or San Antonio.

Nantucket should be next. It is even richer and whiter that MV. I might also suggest Hyannisport, Brattle Street and/or Harvard Yard in Cambridge, downtown Newton and Brookline and Beacon Hill in Boston.

“Where in the Bible can you cite support for treating the poor, hungry and oppressed (including kids) this way?”
What, sending them to a beautiful island whose residents have loudly committed to love them and care for them?
I dunno… maybe the entire New Testament?

There is one word missing from the Bible that these Leftists missed. Whether the Good Samaritan or clothing and feeding the needy. That word is “forever”. Oh, but one cannot be judgmental! Helping those that can’t help themselves is one thing, but having those that can helping themselves to everyone else’s labor is not correct.. Also, the Bible instructs individuals to help…and not force others to do your bidding.

Left Wing compassion ends at the Gate in front of the Community.

It should also be noted that these migrants are all from Venezuela that fine example of the joys of socialism that so many MA Democrats love as well as Bernie, AOC and the rest of the squad.

Why did they leave such a paradise in the first place?

Poor, brown people come to *their* island, and they call out the National Guard to “voluntarily” deport them to a *military base* on the mainland within a day.

So this group of refugees received free transportation to one of the wealthiest localities in the US where plenty of self-proclaimed welcoming people live. That’s Unchristian?
Would it have been more Christian to send them to an overcrowded shelter or barrio in El Paso?
Asking for a friend.

The Island has a year round population of about 17,000 which swells to 200,000 during the summer …as reported. 50 aliens take up the space of 200,000? Amazing…

    There you go!

De Santis took a small bunch of poor people that (along with thousands of others) were more than he could help, and gave them free transport to a land of milk and honey where the people had long pledged unconditional aid, support, and welcome.

It’s certainly not HIS fault that they turned out to be two-faced fucking liars.

I imagine Jesus would point the libs to Romans 13 and their charge to submit to the authority of governmental leaders … He might point to the responsibility to pray for enemies – to go with them 2 miles when they ask you to go 1 – to give them your coat as well when they ask you for your cloak … I imagine he might tell them to ‘pay Caesar what is due to Caesar and to God what is due to God …

If the measure of a Christian is adhering to the word of God (scripture), libs revealed themselves to be downright anti-Christ when Trump was president – for they did the polar opposite of what the word requires …

I’m so glad I’m not on Twitter, etc.

Reminds me of Northern faux libs who would excoriate Southerners about segregation, yet they ignored the 800 lb. gorilla in their living room: rigidly segregated ghettos where Northern faux libs never went.

And yet another changing definition. This time the word “trafficking” is being redefined to support a narrative. How long before “serious” journalist start using it? Better yet, how long before the “AP Style Guide” demands it?

We need to establish another government agency to ensure that everyone in government follows their religion in carrying out their public duties. All members of Congress, governors, mayors, DA’s, police chiefs ‘s etc. must be monitored to ensure they are following their religion when they carry out their government duties.

Even better, we can establish a government church and make them all follow its tenets. We could call it “The Church of America”!!

What? First Amendment? Who pays any attention to that old thing any more??

Translation from d/prog – please don’t confront us with our hypocrisy while we continue to lecture you about aspects of religious beliefs which we don’t ascribe to. We want you racist rubes to keep these illegal immigrants out of our communities, off our lawns and away from our daughters.

Progressives – a religion that is a heresy of Christianity, but likes to wear its clothes – just love telling Christians what Jesus would do. Of course, the thing they think Jesus would do aligns with their Progressive heresy, not actual Christianity.

How does a free flight to Martha’s Vineyard hurt anyone? Will they be injured by the people in Martha’s Vineyard?

Thankfully, most Christians believe in the actual teachings of Jesus Christ: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
Well, except for those people actually on Martha’s Vineyard.

I’d say that it’s quite the act of mercy to take those people from places where they are not wanted and to move them to places that have expressed that they do want them.

Lutheran Satire has a couple of good, short videos responding to people citing Jesus while not believing the relevant basic doctrines.

If the left insists that we follow the supposed teachings of Jesus regarding how to handle illegal immigrants, then it would only seem logical to follow his explicit teaching on other matters. I think that based upon that principle, abortion would not be acceptable or permitted. Why do I not think that they would go for that?

Also, aren’t these the same people always demanding the separation of church and state? It seems that they want to have it both ways; whichever is most convenient.

All these MSM will never indicate the issue of illegal immigrants started by the Biden Admin and that we are in the middle of a massive invasion at the southern border. Nothing was mentioned by the MSM that these illegals were removed quickly from the rich MV that is a sanctuary area, but suddenly became NIMBY as the rich Dems did not want them. It is clear that this invasion could be ended immediately if the Biden Admin wanted.

Let us all pray for President Biden.

Psalm 109:8

Why are they mad? I thought Florida was a s***hole?

For all the MV dilettantes lecturing us on Christianity, I have only five words:
NO ROOM AT THE INN.
