Texas School Shooting: Suspect Identified as Salvador Ramos, Leftists Scream Gun Control

A Border Patrol agent killed the gunman.

The Texas Department of Safety said that 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire in the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX.

The death toll stands at 19 children and two adults. The investigation is still ongoing so not a lot of new information has come out:

“This is a tragic time in our district,” she said, “we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Uvalde CISD Chief of Police Pete Arredondo confirmed that his department is “still working on this active investigation” and promised “once we’re able to provide information to the families, we will do so first and foremost. Please bear with us,” Chief Arredondo added.

“Once we do get some information that we can release to the public, we will do that,” Arredondo said, promising a future press conference would be held when more information is able to be released to the public.

“Let me assure you,” Chief Arredondo said, “the intruder is deceased and we are not actively looking for another individual or any other suspects in this case.”

“We definitely ask you all to keep the families that are involved in your prayers,” Arredondo said in closing.

An elite border patrol agent killed the gunman:

An agent with the Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), a specialized unit within the U.S. Border Patrol, is believed to have shot and killed the suspected gunman who killed 18 children and at least one adult at Robb Elementary school on Tuesday in Uvalde, Texas.

The agent entered the school with a team while other law enforcement officers engaged with the suspect who was barricaded, Border Patrol sources told Fox News.

The agent was struck in the leg by either a bullet or shrapnel.

BORTAC provides immediate response to high-risk incidents requiring special skills and tactics, according to the Border Patrol. The team has full-time members based in El Paso, Texas and non-full-time members throughout the United States.

An official said Ramos “barricaded himself inside a classroom.” The classroom belonged to 4th graders:

“The shooter was able to make entry into a classroom, barricaded himself inside that classroom and again just began shooting numerous children and teachers that were in that classroom having no regard for human life. … Just began shooting anyone that was in his way,” he said. “At that point we had a tactical law enforcement arrive … that were able to able to make forcible entry into that classroom. They were met with gunfire as well but they were able to shoot and kill that suspect.’’

The left immediately politicized the tragedy, calling for gun control. They cannot answer, “What kind of gun control?” It’s just like, “What is this fair share you demand?”

Katie Pavlich at Townhall noted that Biden used the horror to dive “into a partisan screed full of bad jokes.” But Biden is not the only one.

Any chance it’s false-flag?

What does that even mean, in this context? What “flag” was this guy flying, that it might be false? He was clearly not a white supremacist, and not posing as one. Nor as an anti-immigration nut, as several previous shooters were. So how does the whole concept of false flag apply?

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 9:29 am

Biden and the rest of the Democrats want gun confiscation so bad they can taste it. There seems to be an acceleration of incidents of this kind. The flag he is flying is of the Democrat / Communist party.

In advance: any downticks you get, none are mine.

He certainly wasn’t flying the flag of the Democrat/Communist party. I don’t think you meant to write that. On the contrary, you seem to be implying that that may have been his true affiliation, which he hid by flying some other flag. But he doesn’t seem to have been flying any flag at all.

The shooting happened. The kids he killed were real, not “crisis actors”. There have not been any “fake shootings”. So even if he was really an anti-gun Democrat/Communist, as you seem to imply, that would make no difference. If his being some kind of neo-nazi would be an argument for restricting gun rights, then his being a Dem would not change that. The whole concept of “false flag attacks” just doesn’t apply in this case.

          nordic_prince in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 1:27 pm

For the record: “false flag” neither means nor implies that an attack was “fake” or that victims are “not real.”

          From Wikipedia, FWIW:
“A false flag operation is an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on another party.”

IOW, a “false flag” is an attack planned & executed to deceive people into blaming a scapegoat. Note that after every one of these incidents certain parties are quick to beat the “gun control” drum. Every. Single. Time.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 5:03 pm

For the record: “false flag” neither means nor implies that an attack was “fake” or that victims are “not real.”

Had he been “flying a flag”, so to speak, e.g. had he been wearing a MAGA hat and yelling about the evil of CRT or illegal immigration or whatever, then suggesting it was a false flag would have the obvious meaning. But where there is no flag showing, then as you yourself point out the only possible “false flag” applicable would be that he was pretending to be a shooter when in fact he wasn’t one. That’s the sick and insane story people like Alex Jones circulated about Sandy Hook, for which he is justly being driven into bankruptcy. But there is no such allegation here; nobody is questioning that the shooting was real. So even if he were a supporter of suppressing gun rights, and had done this in order to drum up support for his cause, it still wouldn’t be any kind of false flag.

          nordic_prince in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 8:16 pm

Do you think, then, it is out of the question that a mental case like him could have been triggered (post-hypnotic suggestion?) to commit a mass shooting event with the covert purposes of demonizing lawful gun owners and pushing for ever-draconian “gun control” measures – with the ultimate prize being the evisceration of the 2A?

Or do you think that things like this “just happen”?

If it’s due to random chance (“just happened”), then what would explain the dramatic increase in such incidents over the past thirty years?

Do you not find it even a teeny bit suspicious that the D response to these incidents is, without fail, “more gun control,” “Rs don’t care about children,” “gun violence is out of control,” “if guns are outlawed then only outlaws will have guns,” etc.?

malclave in reply to Milhouse. | May 26, 2022 at 6:26 am

The “false flag” if there was one would be him posing as just a random psychopath acting aline, instead of working towards an agenda.

          But I really don’t think it’s a false flag.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | May 27, 2022 at 2:05 am

Yes, Nordic, I think that is completely out of the question, and it’s insane to even suggest it. Things like this do just happen; things like you’re suggesting don’t happen, ever.

          I’m not sure there really is an increase, since we’re dealing with extremely low samples, but to the extent there is one it can be adequately explained by any combination of:(1) The removal of God from the public square and the subseuent breakdown of society’s standards; (2) The rise of fatherlessness; (3) The copycat phenomenon;

aramissebastian in reply to The Gentle Grizzly. | May 25, 2022 at 11:32 am

In what respect is the Democratic Party Communist in any historical sense of the word?

Are Democrats proposing one party rule? No.

Are Democrats proposing that all forms of private property be abolished? No.

Are Democrats proposing vast slave labor camps in the frozen wastes of Alaska for ‘enemies of the people’? No.

Are Democrats proposing to destroy market mechanisms in the economy? No.

So, you’re using the term in the loosest possible way to suggest that Dems. are “un-American” by your lights.

And that is a matter of opinion, not fact.

In my circle of acquainteances and colleagues, the vast majority find something ‘fishy’ about this….my circle refers to intelligent and well-read individuals that include a large Southern city police sergeant, a CPA and other good, solid, mentally healthy adults. After the incitement of the 1/6/21 bogus insurrection, eyes were opened. That is all.

Ah! Another MAGA-hat-wearing white supremacist, I see. Or was he one of that rare breed, the “White Hispanic”?

Don’t take your eye off the ball. This is a fluke, a rarity, a one off. Don’t become confused. The real problem is white people doing drive by shootings in Detroit and Chicago and whites killing blacks at random in NYC.

Don’t let this keep you from donating to BLM. White guilt should cause you to open your wallet and give generously.

As usual Democrats are quick to stack up the coffins and use them as a platform to bang their gun control drum. They skip giving comfort to the families of victims and—focusing on their liberty-destroying politics—jump right to lambasting the 2nd Amendment (which protects the rights of law abiding Americans—criminals and madmen don’t have the right to bear arms), and slurring the NRA (which speaks for the law abiding, and against criminals and madmen). How sick and disgusting are these politics first vermin?

    alaskabob in reply to Capitalist-Dad. | May 25, 2022 at 10:31 am

Once one locks themselves into a room with only small children…after eliminating any “adult”…any firearm will be adequte…or any hammer, baseball bat or knife.

While not knowing as much as we ever will, this was the established formula for maximum publicity. It’s a hellish bargain between the Party of Death and anyone willing to pay the price. What does The Party of Cuomo, Whitmer, Biden and Obama promise? Nothing that they can deliver except more subjugation .

Deer aren’t running through the forest with kevlar vests on for God’s sake!

Beyond the obvious answer, that deer have nothing to do with the second amendment, and also beyond the retort that if by “assault weapon” he means an AR-15, in its standard configuration you want something more powerful for deer, what is he going on about with kevlar? I’ve never heard that an AR-15, or any other “assault weapon”, gives you any advantage against a kevlar-wearing target. For that you want one of those “armor piercing bullets”, which has nothing to do with what weapon you fire them from. Or am I wrong on that?

smalltownoklahoman in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 9:44 am

You are correct on this one. Yes most ammo meant for deer is usually larger and more powerful than the standard 5.56 fired from a standard AR-15. Note that it is still possible to take a deer with a standard AR, it’s just that the larger more powerful ammo will, with a clean shot, take it down faster and minimize suffering.

As to the other point: plenty of videos on youtube and other sites testing the viability and performance of various types of body armor against many types of ammunition.

Since we’re talking about rounds used for hunting deer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO4hcq4QSvM

A Thinker in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 9:53 am

And don’t forget, the Army is replacing all of its M-4’s/M-16’s, which fire the 5.56 mm round, pretty much the same as most AR’s (the 5.56 is slightly more energetic than .223), because the 5.56 isn’t powerful enough to penetrate body armor. Biden’s comment was long on emotional value, short on reality.

alaskabob in reply to A Thinker. | May 25, 2022 at 10:08 am

So F Joe Biden evokes G_d in his sppech. How consistent with his “faith” and actions. This has been a huge tragedy …but think of the thousands sent to their deaths by Cuomo and Whitmer during Biden’s time. When the Dems do it…it’s for the good of the collective.

      mbecker908 in reply to A Thinker. | May 25, 2022 at 12:33 pm

Class III+ body armor, ceramic plate, will stop a 30-06. Class III stops a 7.62. Class IV will stop a 30cal AP round. If you really want to penetrate armor you’re looking at something approaching a 50BMG.

You can buy a Class IV ceramic plate for $250. https://www.ar500armor.com/c2-body-armor.html

        texansamurai in reply to mbecker908. | May 25, 2022 at 11:05 pm

have a modified guide gun in 45/70 with some custom loads we’ve worked up a bit–have not tested them on body armor / ceramics but they will penetrate the driver’s door, thru the cab and exit the passenger door on a couple of old trucks we’ve tested them on–additionally, they will penetrate the grille / radiator / associated pulleys, etc. and into the engine block about 7 or 8 inches on the same trucks–from the rear, through the tailgate, the cab and well into the engine bay–pretty fair wallop at both ends but manageable–prefer a rifle outdoors as a 12ga, though a formidable weapon, risks unintended hits on innocents–each to his own, though

        MajorWood in reply to mbecker908. | May 26, 2022 at 11:31 am

A III+ 10×12 plate really hurts when it slides off the car seat onto your toe. Ask me how I know. I need a trauma plate for my sneakers, I guess.

Body armor is a generic term, with a very wide variation in types and capabilities. When I was at Hopkins 30 years ago the back panelof my level II vest sat in the bottom of my briefcase to be used as a ballistic shield if necessary between the hospital and the garages. Nowadays pretty much all manufacturers sell individual plates sized and designed for the laptop pocket of backpacks. Even last week a parent was inquiring on the reddit body armor sub about getting such panels for his kids. That being said, they are generally IIIa panels and suitable only for stopping handgun ammo as faster and pointier rifle ammo will be able to penetrate the weave, hence the need for steel or ceramic. They are light, though, at say a pound and a half, vs steel and ceramic which get one up into the 7-9 lbs per plate category, and a full rig of front. back, and a couple of side plates is easily in the 25lb range. The only effective body armor is that which is worn, so it is a compromise. There are lighter rifle rated plates of composites, but they are really thick and $$$$. I personally went with a Bulletsafe VP3 which benefits from having extended coverage outside of normal plates, and honestly a BB into my pacemaker just below my clavicle would kill me right there. It also has wrap around extensions lessening the need for side panels, and can take additional plates in an front pocket that are mission specific. The basic rule is effective, inexpensive, and light: pick 2. Some more info is here. Expect a run on this stuff in the near future, if it hasn’t already started. https://www.ar500armor.com/knowledge-base/intro-body-armor/body-armor-101.html#pros-cons

RandomCrank in reply to A Thinker. | May 25, 2022 at 12:56 pm

Just when I think I’ve heard of every caliber, another one pops up. This time 6.8mm Rem. Seems interesting. I’ve shot 6.5 Creedmoor out of an AR-15, and of course 5.56 NATO out of my own AR-15, plus 7.62×51 (metric .308) out of an AR-10. If 6.8 is pretty much like 6.5, that’s a good choice. Much less recoil than 7.62, and the ammo is lighter for carrying, but has more stopping power than 5.56 and I believe is a flatter shooter, which will give it a longer effective lethal range.

alaskabob in reply to RandomCrank. | May 25, 2022 at 1:29 pm

Several 6.8s… the military 6.8×51 “Spear” by SIG is the new rifle for US. 80000 psi load. As we all know 6.8mm has been around since the ’20’s… the 270 Winchester. For most of the last 150 years, all that is new is just repackaging. I find the Left’s semi-auto argument interesting as the semi-auto was civilian first and later military while the bolt action rifle was the reverse.

RandomCrank in reply to alaskabob. | May 25, 2022 at 2:50 pm

So 6.8mm = .270 Winchester? My neighbor shoots coyotes with a .270. Gets ’em at 300 yards with nothing but iron sights. Cuts off the tails and nails ’em to his barn.

RandomCrank in reply to alaskabob. | May 25, 2022 at 2:56 pm

Not long ago, I was looking up the JFK shooting and saw that Oswald used a 6.5mm carbine at 70-75 yards, with a scope. I hadn’t known. Still good reason to doubt the one “magic bullet,” but that aside, it’s pretty close range for that caliber — even without a scope, let alone with one.

alaskabob in reply to alaskabob. | May 25, 2022 at 3:58 pm

One of the surgical attendings at UW had been a resident at Parkland and on the JFK team. Ah, needless to say… never discussed it. The Italian Carcano is a bolt gun and Oswald was a lefty (handed and commie) so throwing the bolt was easy for rapid fire from a rest. The magic bullet that supposedly went through Kennedy and Connally was almost pristine… which is magic. There will always be a ? as to someone else with a 6.5 Swedish on that grassy knoll.

RandomCrank in reply to alaskabob. | May 25, 2022 at 6:35 pm

I was acquainted with a guy who was in boot camp with Oswald and later served with him in Japan. He sold Oswald a pistol, and until the day he died he was afraid that some three-letter agency would nail him for it, even decades later.

Anyway, the FBI interviewed my acquaintance and a fairly long list of Oswald’s USMC comrades. They’d have periodic reunions. None of them thought Oswald was the only shooter. The big reason: On the USMC range, Oswald was known for getting “Maggie’s Drawers,” which was signified by hoisting some bloomers to indicate that the shooter entirely missed the target.

Along the way, I had some free time on a business trip to Dallas, and went to Dealy Plaza just for the hell of it. Very glad I did, because the main impression was how small the place is relative to the photos and footage that suggest a much bigger space. Remember the famed “grassy knoll?” I laughed out loud, alone in the car, and thought of that Peggy Lee tune, “Is That All There Is?” Grassy knoll? More like bump in the grass. You really have to see it.

I don’t know what made me revisit all of it about a year ago, but when I saw that it was a 70 or 75 yard shot with a 6.5mm rifle and a scope, I could imagine that Oswald could have made the shots himself, his range incompetence notwithstanding.

Still, that third shot that went through JFK’s neck and then through Connolly? The bullet was found intact on the stretcher after hitting bones. The amount of lead taken from Connolly’s wounds, plus the bullet, was more than the weight of the bullet. Strike one!

A recreation of the event done much later showed that JFK would have had to perform something of an acrobatic maneuver for the Warren Commission version to be plausible. It reminded me of when Nixon tried to blame the 18-minute gap on the Watergate tape on Rosemary Woods, his secretary. When they ran that demonstration in Congress, it was laughable.

So, even though I think Oswald could have made three accurate shots that day, I don’t believe the official version. Anyone who wants to take a medium-depth dive into this — not the mechanics, but a plausible back story that explains what probably happened — should find an old movie called “Ruby.”

To me, it was a classic hit engineered by the Chicago mob. They stole Illinois in the 1960 election after midnight, and were repaid by JFK’s appointment of Bobby Kennedy as attorney general. The Kennedys went after the mob, claws out. The rest is history.

CDR D in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 11:09 am

The ancient 30-30 Winchester has half again as much energy as the .223, and some authorities consider it minimal for deer. The nearly as ancient .30-06 Springfield has more than twice the energy of the .223, and is suitable for hunting nearly all North American game,

Ol’ “Get a shotgun Joe” is, as always, full of shit.

“Ignorance is strength “…. that way when written in 1948 and more so today. As they drag out the “weapons of war” lingo… what firearm type hasn’t been used in war? Or Schumer’s “fully semi-automatic whatever”. Jefferson (white slave owning rapist I hear) said a nation cannot endure both free and ignorant. Ignorance is now a world wide goal.

RandomCrank in reply to CDR D. | May 25, 2022 at 1:16 pm

The vast majority of deer and elk hunters use one of the several .30 caliber variants, such as .30-06, .30-30, or .308. Almost always bolt action. .223/5.56 for coyotes and feral hogs, but if I were going to use an AR for hogs I’d be inclined toward 6.5 Creedmoor or maybe even an AR-10 in 7.62/.308 although the recoil might be an issue with the latter.

healthguyfsu in reply to RandomCrank. | May 25, 2022 at 1:29 pm

“Almost always bolt action”. Except for some of us who will use a lever action rifle because it’s easier to get a lever rifle than a left handed bolt in some cases.

I have known people who had 7.62*39mm bounce off of a feral hog’s head.

I would expect you’d want a higher powered round for a feral hog. They’re nature’s tanks and are quite happy to dine on hunter if they catch one.

RandomCrank in reply to Voyager. | May 25, 2022 at 6:40 pm

I’ve never seen a feral hog, so I’m relying on what I’ve read. You make a great point. One thing I wonder concerns the hide.

I live about 15 miles from a place once known as “Hog Canyon,” on the Oregon side of the Columbia River. It was infested with rattlesnakes, so the pioneers let hogs loose because rattler fangs don’t penetrate pigskin, or so I have been told. I wonder about a .223/5.45 bullet.

Gun control legislation will NOT prevent this kind of tragedy.
What it will do is to further erode the rule of law and public trust in government.
You don’t get to choose which parts of the Constitution you want to abide to and which to ignore.

Half the nation is clinically ill in the mind. Most are functional, but there is an army of psychopaths created by the left’s warping of our society – and the GOP’s help along the way – that will be unleashing itself on the rest of us.

Then, there’s the army of pedophiles, drug dealers, scammers, terrorists and street criminals flooding across our border thrown open by Obama/Biden.

By the way, he is not a ‘suspect’.
He is the perpetrator, culprit, offender, criminal, murderer, monster.

The Dumb-o-crat outrage is predictably hypocritical, considering that a Chicago, Detroit or Philadelphia sees the equivalent of the death toll in this incident, only, spread out over a few weekends.

acquiring a weapon has never been a problem for this type of criminal anywhere in the world–a “lone wolf” attack is the most difficult assault to intercept/interdict/prevent for any citizen/leo/military force, etc.–those are facts not opinions

obama and fjb are both proven liars/puppets/grifters–their opinions are not merely suspect they are irrelevant to our personal safety

the best chance any of us have to survive/interdict/prevent any incident like the one
here is to be armed and trained ourselves and then be willing to act

Perhaps more attention should be paid to those with mental illness. I suspect there will be a series of warning signs that were individually ignored but collectively would demonstrate a propensity for violence. I would bet this guy has an escalating series of off putting statements, behavior and some ‘authorities’ knew it. We need to empower our institutions to seek involuntary commitment for patterns of behavior that rise above a threshold to segregate those who are a danger to others away from us until they have been effectively treated.

How about hardening the schools? Classroom doors that lock automatically made of reinforced materials to resist either forced entry or gunfire. Picking the damn front door of schools seems an obvious step. These are passive steps that should meet little opposition. Some districts or States depending upon philosophy may consider more active measures. LEO presence, armed staff or volunteers all screened and suitably trained.

That is the sensible approach that would happen in a sane world. However we do not live in a sane world.

Democrats have no interest in taking a sensible approach to this because they need the emotion and the hysteria for their own political needs (hint: those needs do not align with your needs).

Democrats need children to die and isn’t it somewhat ironic that they are quite happy killing unborn babies as well as children when it furthers their political objectives.

Due to the “81 million voters” who voted for President Puddin’ Pants, mental illness has become a serious issue for this country each time he opens his mouth.

Look at Beslan…. At these times it is a reminder of what can easily happen with our undefended borders allowing enemy countries to infiltrate. I wonder ,in part, if Iran promises attacks in U.S. If they don’t get their way…or .if that the Dems just can’t see it.

I still don’t know if the shooter entered the classroom by breaking a window and crawling through it, or by walking into a hallway and picking out a classroom. If the latter, there are some very cheap and effective ways to keep anyone from getting into a classroom.

Most spree killings are murder-suicides. One way at this is through a revamping of suicide prevention efforts among young people.

On hardening the schools, four years ago a high school kid in the Midwest invented a cheap device to make classroom doors impossible to open. If anyone actually wants to address that problem cheaply and effectively, here’s how:

One of the first things I checked when I saw the name Salvador Ramos. MSM was very quick to report he was a US citizen. Matter of fact, it was in almost every report I read. So reporters all thought the same thing. Even mentioned he had recently moved from North Dakota to Texas.

Questions still exist. He shot his grandmother first. Zero mention of his parents. And other blogs in the comment sections have pics that seem to question his sexuality…

Milhouse in reply to gospace. | May 25, 2022 at 11:43 am

I’ve seen plenty mention of his drug-addict mother, whom his grandmother was apparently about to evict from her home. No mention of a father, though.

He apparently was a transvestite. That’s not a sexuality preference: he could still be attracted to women. He just wanted to dress like one. And kill a lot of children.

“Apparently” only to some crazy rabid commenters on some weird web sites. They invented some crazy story and circulated it, and then quote each other to “prove” their story. But until there is actual solid evidence it is a ****ing lie. Even if by some weird accident it turns out to be true, it’s still a lie if it was circulated without having seen any evidence for it.

Those crazy rabid commenters are also posting pictures supposedly from his social media before they locked it down. Do you seriously expect the mainstream media to report that?

          Milhouse in reply to TheFineReport.com. | May 27, 2022 at 9:43 am

The key word there is “supposedly”, because it was absolute garbage. Those pictures were NOT from the source these rabid morons and sick liars claimed they were. If a reliable source is not reporting it then it is NOT TRUE.

I’m really curious about the border patrol guy and why he was there. I am not implying any skulduggery, but simply curious. For now, there’s no comprehensive, reliable, minute by minute accounting.

CommoChief in reply to Elric. | May 25, 2022 at 11:35 am

Reports have made no indication that the person was an illegal immigrant. In fact he is reported to be a US Citizen. I am not sure where you are coming from with your description of him as an illegal immigrant. Can you provide an official source for that claim?

Here we go again. All of the usual left wing dingbats sloganeering blaming Republican voters (gun rights is NOT a partisan issue except on the kabuki theater stage) and proposing solutions that would not have stopped any of these school shootings. Another crazy lunatic who was well known for being crazy and no one did anything. Police were called to his home over 15-20 times for domestic violence and he still got to pass the FBI gun check allowing him to buy his guns. And just as with the Sandy Hook shooting, the Arye Duncan policy of not reporting BIPOCs unless they were balanced off with white reported incidents probably played a role here And also like Sandy Hook, he started at home by killing his mother before hitting the school. You. Can’t. Hide. Crazy. And once again, people should have known this guy was dangerous. His mother and neighbors and police sure knew it.

If you want to come up with solutions that WOULD reduce, if not stop, these insane crimes, start with that. My owning guns is NOT the problem and I am NOT interested in hearing from usual elites living in gated communities and protected by armed guards everywhere they go.

If people are confused as to why these tragedies keep happening, read this again from the top. It’s not complicated. Lose the politics and start focusing on the causes.

To Democrats like Biden the school shooting was a second and early Christmas+New Years nothing makes them happier.

If our effeminate woke scolds did pass a law banning guns, who would enforce it? These people believe police are offensive, prisons are wrong, and the work ethics of their largest cohort, the Millennials, is so bad, that only 30% of them will fully engage in their jobs.

We got an early glimpse in their soldiering abilities in Afghanistan. We spent $2 trillion over the past 20 years fighting a losing war against the Taliban, an illiterate army of 10,000 soldiers but only 2,000 to 3,000 of them highly motivated soldiers. We then spent a fortune training 352,000 Afghan troops, who likely outnumbered the motivated Taliban more than 100 to 1, but this U.S. trained Afghan military lost in one week, in a complete rout. The incompetence of our Woke Government is just off the scale. The effeminate woke scolds that rule us would not be able to enforce any gun laws, even if they passed them.

Two Trillion is enough to solve every problem in America for the next one hundred years and have money left over. The 40 billion going to Ukraine could be better utilized at home.

Need a commision or a group of commissions to look into the problems and make recommendations. There are many problems involved:

    1. Mental health. Need to build hundreds of mental health facilites and hire mental health workers.

    2. Family break down. Need to do something about one family homes and homes without a father.

    3. Drug addiction and committing crime to get money to buy drugs needs to be addressed.

    4. Gangs and gang violence.

    5. School security: Need to have a camera and buzzer with only one entrance into schools. Better doors and windows. An armed security guard would be nice.

    6. Gun security at home. Many of the shooters stole the guns from their parents.

    7. Teaching CRT is stirring up racial hatred and causing more problems than it solves.

    8. Illegal immigration is overwhelming the nation and draining our resources from every area.

    9. _______________________________________________

All of these are good ideas, but they remind me of a suggestion that I made to a school principal, for improving the school’s curriculum. The Principal just laughed and said it’s a great idea, but the school has so many problem children, the staff is just focused on maintaining control.

Peabody in reply to ruralguy. | May 25, 2022 at 6:36 pm

Oh I was just brainstorming. I’m sure that there are many more and better ones than what I can come up with. My point is that passing a law on gun control is not the solution.

But I your comment. It’s refreshing.

Milhouse in reply to RandomCrank. | May 25, 2022 at 5:25 pm

Exactly. And the same goes for people who constantly quote stories from sites that are known to be lying liars who make sh*t up for lulz. Such as Gateway Pundit. Anyone citing stories from there is automatically a liar, because he knows or ought to know that the site is unreliable, and a story appearing there is not even an indication that it might be true. If something is true it will appear somewhere reliable; if it doesn’t that proves it’s a lie.

RandomCrank in reply to Milhouse. | May 25, 2022 at 6:54 pm

I am a former professional journalist when that actually meant anything. Pride is the deadliest of the Seven Deadlies, and really the root of the other six, so I will say that I’m satisfied with how I did my job. I made mistakes, but when I did that I actually initiated the corrections without being told.

“If your mother tells you she loves you, check it out.” That’s how I was trained, and more than 30 years later I still recall the three or four times when I slipped up — and corrected it. The decline of journalism basics is a huge issue for me, starting with so much invention of fake “facts” and ignoring of real ones.

I don’t care one single god damned bit who does that. Wingers, lefties, you name it. This horseshit about the TX shooter being a tranny comes from 4chan, which combined one picture that showed nothing of the sort, and others swiped from an unrelated tranny’s Reddit page.

The fang dripping wingers WANT to go there, facts be damned. I don’t care if I get 100 downvotes here. I call bullshit. If they don’t apply across the board and to ourselves, they are not principles. Lying is for the CNNs and New York Timeses of the world. Wingers who lie are their brothers under the skin.

RandomCrank in reply to RandomCrank. | May 25, 2022 at 11:39 pm

My favorite correction came after I wrote a story that blamed a manufacturer’s demise on the employees who refused to take pay cuts to rescue the enterprise. It was based on their press release. (Cringe.)

I get a letter shortly thereafter from the wife of one of those workers, detailing the 23% pay cut that the workers had agreed to. The next issue of our newspaper (a major metro daily, when those still existed for real) carried my correction. No one asked me to write it. I could have thrown that letter away to hide my embarrassment.

I’ll never forget that correction. A finger got pointed at the man in the mirror. That’s how it was done in the Old School, which has all but vanished. Folks, you probably won’t ever meet someone, even in cyberspace, who’s more thoroughly disgusted by what journalism has become. I worked in them salt mines. I know how it’s supposed to work, and thankfully I also know that I (think, anyway) that I tried to do it right.

So, if this or that comment winger gets pissed because I point the finger where it deserves to be pointed, save your tears for someone who won’t laugh at you — because he’s been there. Step up to the plate, or the hell with you.

The stories present a picture of a lost soul with a broken family. Apparently wore eyeliner at one school, but that proves nothing given that it’s what the “goth” and “horrorcore” types do. The 4chan crazies lifted pics from some tranny on Reddit and spread a wholly uncorrobrated tale that the kid was a tranny. It does because trans gendered teens are Ali most all mentally I’ll and if he was on hormones that could cause immense swings in his personality, severe anger issues he wouldn’t be able to cope with

At some point these teens will realize what their parents allowed them to do and will turn on them in righteous anger.

The biggest hurdle to stopping most of these acts is politics. Mental health is the issue for most of them but who will you allow to take that right away? Passing a law requiring a mental health check before purchasing a gun would in effect be a ban on guns. Most psychiatrists are liberals who don’t think anyone should have a gun.

Three words: MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS

The source of the problem is a bunch of crazy damn kids. Society allows their malevolence to fester.

If it took away 100% of the guns—which of course the government could NOT do—these crazy people would find another way to inflict their brand of evil on society. The government would have to outlaw firebombs, cars, you name it.

These deranged murderers know that they can get away with wreaking mass carnage because they are going after unarmed targets.

What’s the old saying? When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

Democrats don’t have the votes to push their gun control agenda….again.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/05/25/chuck-schumer-hits-brakes-gun-control-vote-will-have-wait/

So once again, it will be sloganeering and partisan attacks. Fine. This is not going to help their cause in November. Most Democrat voters support gun rights too.

It must really suck being wrong on everything all of the time.

There is one thing I could potentially support.

That Buffalo shooter had specifically threatened to shoot up a school. That ought to land someone on the federal prohibited buyer list. I could support an expansion to include that, but I’d want to look closely at the details.

Intact families, God in their lives, drug free
And a government that is by the people and for the people . Not one that wants to replace you, marginalize you, murder you

That would help

About 25 years ago, i was at the Ketchikan airport when a large bunch of high schools walked through the terminal with their deer rifles.. ready to clear the island of deer to help the airport. decades before that carrying ones rifle to school in NYC was normal. What changed? The Left’s handiwork.

Barry in reply to alaskabob. | May 25, 2022 at 4:44 pm

At the age of 10 I carried a .22 semi automatic (assault rifle!) to school and did so more than once between the age of 10 and 12.

1963. And I was not the only one. It was not unusual to see a kid carrying a rifle, usually a .22, down the street on the way to the local range or out shooting small game.

There is an excellent presentation by a retired Lt. Col. Ed Monk. Tim Larkin showed it on his YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDDK0jLsdKQ

Lots of hard facts about school shootings and how to defend against them.

Antifundamentalist | May 25, 2022 at 4:40 pm

The answer to the Left and their gun control mantra is this: We have the Second Amendment. If you believe that needs to change, the Constitution provides for a way to make that change. Use it. Of course they then wail about how they would not be able to get a constitutional ammendement passed. To which we say: there is a reason for that.

I’m calling cartel hit. Apparently lots of kids there have border patrol parents.

Grandpa ex-felon. Kid has money for high-end equipment (upwards of $6k worth of rifle, optics, and ammo). I’d watch the bank accounts of anyone related to him for a while.

RandomCrank in reply to jhkrischel. | May 25, 2022 at 7:05 pm

The kid worked a fast food job, but could he have saved $5,000?

The rifles cost $2K each including taxes, so I doubt “upwards of $6,000.” I believe he bought 350 rounds, which go for about $200 on ammoseek. If the rifles had scopes, those prices vary depending on quality, but I have some scopes that cost me less than $100.

Still, the stories say that the kid had been hassled because his family is poor. Who knows, maybe he was squirreling away cash for quite a while, but 5 grand seems like a lot given the circumstances. Makes me wonder if he was running drugs and/or illegals, and attracted the Border Patrol’s attention.
