A man disguised as an old lady in a wheelchair smeared cake on the Mona Lisa painting after he failed to break the bulletproof glass protecting the priceless art.
The man said in French: “There are people who are destroying the Earth … All artists, think about the Earth. That’s why I did this. Think of the planet.”
Authorities arrested the man and placed him in psychiatric care.
