George Washington U. Student Gov. Wants Young America’s Foundation Suspended Over Alleged Transphobic Tweets

“Student Association Senate unanimously passed a resolution last week which calls on school officials to suspend the campus chapter of the Young America’s Foundation”

If it wasn’t over this, the student government probably would have found another reason. It was just a matter of time.

The College Fix reports:

GWU student government wants conservative group suspended for ‘transphobic’ tweets

The George Washington University Student Association Senate unanimously passed a resolution last week which calls on school officials to suspend the campus chapter of the Young America’s Foundation for alleged “transphobic” tweets.

According to The Hatchet, the SAS approved the “No Place for Hate Act” on Monday which says a series of YAF tweets were “hateful,” and demands the campus Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion “conduct trainings” with the conservative group to ensure it “understand[s] why [its] statements were wrong.”

The allegedly hateful/transphobic tweets in question include:

— “oh the pro-pedo libs are gonna LOVE this one”
— “we aren’t the ones advocating for the grooming and sexualization of children …”
— “The statement that pedophiles shouldn’t be teaching in schools should not be controversial, it’s common sense.”
— “AGREE OR GET CANCELLED: @benshapiro explains how trans ‘rights’ are an attack on free speech.”

Regarding the first comment, the YAF said in a now-deleted tweet that it “did not represent the entire organization’s views” and “was not meant to refer to transgender people as pedophiles, only people who support implementing education about gender and sexuality in elementary schools.”

The Hatchet notes the YAF “did not apologize” for the comment, but it did say the word “pedophile” should not have been used.

The second tweet, which The Hatchet refers to as “transphobic and homophobic,” was made in response to a member of GW Reproductive Autonomy and Gender Equity calling YAF “disgusting.”

The “No Place for Hate Act” claims YAF’s language has been used “to justify violence and discriminatory laws against the [LGBTQ] community.” It also calls upon the Office of the [GW] President to “address YAF’s statements” and explain how the university “seeks to improve safety for the LGBTQ+ Community.”

Question: what percentage of any given student body even cares about their school politicians and politics? I’m talking about people taking real majors.

Answer: My guess is less than 10% of students have real majors. And I wouldn’t be far off to say less than 10% of professors are qualified to teach such majors.

You’d be wrong….STEM dominates and gets overrun with students that want a real career.

STEM classes get loaded to the brim while “studies” majors have trouble justifying their continued existence…but they get a pass from the woke admin. So, the quality of STEM education suffers because the rest of the university has to subsidize the faculty that produce far fewer majors overall and even less that are employable in their field of study.

If a team comprising chemistry, engineering, medical, dentistry, and computer science took to the field against Alabama, and won, would the headline read “Tide STEMed”?

When something is Alleged; (of an incident or a person) said, without proof, to have taken place.

Sorry it doesn’t pass the smell test.

See, GW, this is why no one likes you. As a graduate of your law school, I used to make what are, for me at least, sizable donations and had included you for an even more sizable legacy in my will. Now I don’t. You have been cut off and disinherited. And this won’t change until you end your irrational, tribal culture and develop some semblance of intellectual integrity and courage. It is unlikely you will even try, let alone succeed, so you have been replaced in my annual giving program and estate plan.

If I may say so, I believe you have reached your goal of seeking rational thought. As to giving, may I suggest giving to some dog rescue to save dogs about to be euthanized. Or better yet, start a dog resuce like Danny and Ron’s Rescue.

You misunderstand the moniker. I’m looking for rational thought in others. But thanks. 🙂 BTW, already give to a couple of rescue operations. GW’s money was intended to further rational thought. They chose another path so those funds go elsewhere.

“I’m looking for rational thought in others”

I take it, then, you are looking for people who make decisions and think thoughts based on reason rather than on emotion. If so, are you looking for it in individuals or in institutions of higher learning where it is supposed to be advanced and passed on to others?

Are you a follower of any particular thinking such as Spinoza or Descartes?

Thanks for giving to rescue operations.

Trans”phobia” is rapidly becoming transnausea.

Why are we being pushed around by less than 1% of the population and their lefty, white guilted handlers?

Should I have used a word other than “handler?” 😉

We have a very annoying gender fluid person who visits my local mochahut and pesters people, and at some point I am simply going to ask “Did they ever arrest the person who did that to you?” but without ever specify what “that” was. If they want to weaponize their mental illness, then it is fair game for countermeasure.
