Border Patrol in Rio Grande Valley Arrest Numerous Criminals, Including Man Convicted of Raping a Child

This man “was convicted of viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in 2012 and sentenced to 36 months’ incarceration.”

Border patrol agents apprehended quite a few criminals and gang members in the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) last week.

The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Protection described the apprehensions from last week in a news release.

Monday, March 28

The Weslaco Border Patrol Station (WSL) arrested a Mexican male caught “during a marijuana smuggling event.” The agents discovered during processing that he was arrested by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office in 2019 “for attempt to commit murder.” He was “sentenced to two-years’ confinement” The US removed him, but he tried to come back.

Agents at the Javier Vega Jr. Border Patrol Checkpoint arrested “67 migrants smuggled in a tractor trailer.” One of those men is a Salvadoran national who is a member of the MS-13 (Mara Salvatrucha) gang. He was removed from America in 2018.

Tuesday, March 29

Agents at the McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) found 35 migrants entering America illegally near Hidalgo. They uncovered a Salvadoran man who is wanted in his home country for homicide.

Wednesday, March 30

WSL agents found Mexican national Edward Gonzalez in a group of 10 migrants in Progreso. He “was convicted of rape and sentenced to 11-years’ incarceration in Indiana.” The US removed him.

Thursday, March 31

A background check on a Honduran man by MCS agents “revealed he is a MS-13 gang member.” He also had a conviction in Fort Worth in 2008 for “assault causing bodily harm to a family member.” He also had a sentence of over a year “for being unlawfully present in the U.S., after multiple deportations.”

The Falfurrias Border Patrol Station (FLF) agents found a criminal Mexican national in a group of 16 migrants. This man “was convicted of viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in 2012 and sentenced to 36 months’ incarceration.” Two years after that “he was sentenced to 14-months’ confinement for rape of a child.”

The MCS agents found another MS-13 gang member from El Salvador.

Friday, April 1

The MCS agents encountered a Paisas gang member from Mexico. He has “a criminal history of cruelty to a child for which he was sentenced to two-years’ incarceration.”

Another group had a “Honduran national with an arrest for homicide in his home country.”

We already know over 62,000 migrants slipped by border patrol agents in March, which is about 2,000 a day. Sources told Fox News that the Del Rio Sector had “the most gotaways with about 700 a day.” The Tucson Sector witnessed over 500 a day.

There have been over 300,000 “gotaways” in FY 2022, which began on October 1.

The border patrol has already arrested 3,662 migrants with criminal convictions during this fiscal year.
