Report: Biden Looking to Saudi Arabia, Venezuela for Oil

Report: Biden Looking to Saudi Arabia, Venezuela for Oil

I took the featured photo this morning. I never thought I’d see non-ethanol gas over $3 in Oklahoma, let alone over $4.

I took the featured photo of this post at 9:45 AM this morning. $4.09 for non-ethanol gas, which is the only gas I will use unless I absolutely have to use ethanol.

Before Biden, I never paid more than $2.80 a gallon for non-ethanol gas. This is Oklahoma. Freaking Oklahoma!! Now I’m super glad I don’t live back in Illinois.

We’ve felt pain at the pump before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Now it will get worse, especially if the administration bans Russian oil imports.

Instead of opening the Keystone Pipeline XL or opening new fields in America, the Biden administration turned its eyes to Saudi Arabia along with Venezuela.

By the way, Venezuela is besties with Russia.

Yes, let’s rely on more dictatorships instead of ourselves. From Axios:

Why it matters: A hat-in-hand trip would illustrate the gravity of the global energy crisis driven by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden has chastised Saudi Arabia, and the CIA believes its de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, was involved in the dismemberment of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

  • The possibility also shows how Russia’s invasion is scrambling world’s alliances, forcing the U.S. to reorder its priorities — and potentially recalibrating its emphasis on human rights.
  • Biden officials are in Venezuela this weekend to meet with the government of President Nicolás Maduro. Some Republicans and Democrats in Washington suggest Venezuela’s oil could replace Russia’s, according to the New York Times.
  • Any visit to the Persian Gulf would come amid a busy presidential travel schedule during the next few months.
  • Biden will likely take trips to Japan, Spain, Germany and, potentially, Israel, Axios has also learned.

So we won’t import oil from Russia because it invaded Ukraine but we’ll buy oil from countries that do not respect basic human rights. Make total sense.

We’ll sanction Russia and block them out but ease sanctions against Venezuela, which relies on three of our enemies for its oil sector:

The proposals being discussed in the Venezuelan capital would ease sanctions for a limited period on U.S. national security grounds. Since the Trump administration began turning the economic screws on Venezuela in 2017 and then leveled sanctions on the oil sector in 2019, Caracas has come to rely on China, Russia and Iran to keep its oil sector afloat. As of 2020, Petróleos de Venezuela SA, the country’s state oil company, was producing about 300,000 barrels a day.

By easing the sanctions now, the U.S. would redirect Venezuelan oil exports out of an opaque China-bound export network and back to Gulf Coast refiners that process the heavy crude Venezuela produces, people familiar with the administration’s thinking on the matter said.

It also would peel Caracas out of the political orbit of Russia, which has helped Venezuela sidestep U.S. sanctions by putting its financial system to work processing payments for PDVSA, as the Venezuelan state oil company is known. And sanctions relief would replace Iran’s supply of condensate—a very light oil that PDVSA uses to dilute its extra-heavy oil—with Western-supplied diluents like naphtha, according to people familiar with the Biden administration’s strategy.

The U.S. and U.S. even spoke up for Libyan oil fields:

“Blocking oil production deprives all Libyans from their major source of revenue,” said Stephanie Williams, the U.N. special adviser on Libya, in a statement. “The oil blockade should be lifted.”

Richard Norland, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, echoed Williams’s remarks, arguing for an end to the shutdown.

Oil production in Libya has significantly dropped since the two fields were shut down over local conflicts. The state-run National Oil Corporation told Reuters that the closures cost Libya $160 million a day in revenue and have diminished the country’s oil output by 330,000 barrels.

Um, something tells me Williams and Norland took this approach so the West can replace Russian oil. Timing is off and I don’t believe in coincidences.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

How much are these countries paying to “The Big Guy” for this?

henrybowman | March 7, 2022 at 1:11 pm

How much longer should we wait for the jury to come back in and “officially” confirm to us that Biden is deliberately destroying America?

These people are just not serious. Their answer is to pump hundreds of millions of dollars in to the pockets of the enemy while people at home suffer.

You cannot make this shit up!

Elections do have consequences and the Biden admin is seeking any port in the storm to mitigate the coming economic and electoral carnage. The admin desperately wants to avoid cutting off Russian oil and Nat gas but will likely be forced to accept the US ending purchase of Russian oil as a stopgap. The Germans simply can’t stop buying yet, maybe later this spring when temps rise. They made themselves dependent on Russian energy and are paying the price for their folly.

Perhaps they are setting up a crises (I heard those are useful to tyrants) to ensure there is no 2022 election.

      Ding!

      henrybowman in reply to TX-rifraph. | March 7, 2022 at 3:21 pm

Will there be a 2022 election anyway?
An actual opposition party should be shaking the rafters about this shit every night, from now until November.
      Have you heard a peep?
Bonus clue: there are more than three Republicans in congress.

Mail in or online ballots for ALL elections. Can’t get to the voting booth via ic engine? Look and see how convenient online voting is!
We are being set up, and those treasonous bastards know we will drag them through the streets when the truth is uncovered. It will take WW III to give cover for fleeing, and they are demonizing protests as riots and insurrections in case the truth comes before the hypersonic missiles hit.

On-line ballots. At $10 per gallon gas it is un-American to make people use it to vote and discriminatory against poor people. Also, with the famine that grain shortages will deliver, we should not ask anyone to burn calories going anywhere to vote. /s

To put the ‘Ukraine Crisis’ in its true perspective, as communicated by the Left’s actions, as opposed to their constant virtue signaling rhetoric…

Brandon and his junta obviously consider US energy companies a greater threat to the nation than Putin and Russia.

And ‘climate change’ is obviously a far, far greater threat than Putin and Russia.

Better to enrich Putin and let him conquer Ukraine than maximize US fossil fuel energy production make the US energy independent.

That’s what the American Left really thinks.

I was reading that if gas is too high We should buy electric Vehicles. Well if that is the solution then truckers should stop delivering food and goods to blue cities until Electric Trucks are ready. Time for elites to feel the pain too.

    Good thing
I can skin a buck and run a trot line. Would you like a taste of my homemade wine? Catch Catfish from dusk til dawn, get my honey from a hollow log. Got a shotgun, a rifle and a four wheel drive and a county boy will to survive.

It may be long in the tooth but it sums up the Scotch-Irish heritage of my home in rural South Carolina, not terribly far from Appalachia.

Congrats, redneck. And I don’t mean it disparagingly. I’m a city boy. Who learned to hunt ducks on the San Francisco Bay. Who learned to make hooch from ex cons. I can rebuild my IHC Scout blindfolded because it was the only way the cab over moving truck I was driving for a summer job was going to make it home. And my boss was a cheapskate. I laugh at your catfish. I eat sharks (I wasn’t actually out for sharks, just caught ’em by mistake).

I don’t go dove hunting without 4 different ways of making fire. One doubling as a signaling mirror.

      You have a point?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suisun_Bay

It killed me, redneck having to sell my share in the duck club. But I hadn’t been there in decades. Defending the country and all that. kind of interfered.

“Suisun Bay (/səˈsuːn/ sə-SOON; Wintun for “where the west wind blows”) is a shallow tidal estuary (a northeastern extension of the San Francisco Bay) in Northern California. It lies at the confluence of the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River, forming the entrance to the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, an inverted river delta. Suisun Marsh, the tidal marsh land to the north, is the largest marsh in California…”

scooterjay is only giving you half of the story. if he even knows it. In prison, how do you sneak the pruno into your house?

Y0u pour it into your work boots. And pray to god you don’t make too much noise.

We must bring back President’s Trump energy polices that idiot Biden cancelled, putting Americans back to work, allowing the oil pipelines to get bank on schedule, allow oil/coal/natural gas/nuclear power to ramp back up, replenish the Petroleum Strategic Oil Reserve that Biden stole from, and become a net exporter of energy! If Biden is too stupid to understand this, then remove the demented fool and next up with this plan in hand!

    randian in reply to jrcowboy49. | March 7, 2022 at 9:38 pm

If Biden is too stupid to understand this

He isn’t, what he’s doing is intentional. Break the back of :America, fund our enemies (Iran, Venezuela, and Russia).

The movement to remove Biden from office has to start, and NOW.
We – let along the world – will not survived another few months of this maniac and the puppeteers operating him.

Biden replaced by whom? If you are right that we can only survive a few more months of “this maniac”, then the only (theoretical) hope seems to be that Trump runs for a House seat and the Republicans win enough to successfully impeach Biden and Harris.

It’s too bad the U.S, and Canada don’t have anymore oil.

1) The sole and exclusive goal of the current ruling regime here, and all Democrats and their allies farther to the Left, is the absolute destruction of the United States and its Constitution. Their every action proclaims it to the skies.

2) Their destruction of our energy infrastructure and abetting the start of the war in Ukraine is a part of that.

3) As noted in another posting here, wheat supplies coming from Eurasia in general and the Ukraine in particular are going to be scarce, And probably Russian crops are going to be disrupted by the war and the collapse of the Russian civilian logistics system. It is going to get real hungry out real soon.

4) The following years, worldwide, are going to follow a similar pattern if only because the fertilizers that allow the crop yields that feed everybody come from . . . wait for it . . . the petrochemical industry.

5) Concerns about the existence of elections, valid or otherwise, in 2022, 2024, and later are well founded. It is a bedrock part of our conception of government that its legitimacy is based on the consent of the governed, In the absence of honest elections, perceived and accepted as such, there is no such consent with all that applies.

6) Discussion of the above is not desired by the powers that be.

Can this administration touch ANYTHING without it turning to merde? Can they push back on ONE stupid woke idea???

They think they will gerrymander a few seats, maybe get enough dead to vote or harvest from old folks homes to win a couple more, and all will be well. 11.08.22 will be a wipeout of EPIC proportion, all the way down to county clerks.
