Harris: U.S. “stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO Alliance” (Ukraine is not in NATO)

I saw a really offensive tweet the other day (via Inatapundit):

“Kamala Harris is everything the left said Sarah Palin would be.”

That’s deeply offensive and insulting … to Sarah Palin.

Harris is the clown car of Vice Presidents, someone so obviously in over her head it’s a national embarrassment.

Harris gave a speech today at a Democratic National Committee event. And she appeared not to know that Ukraine was not a NATO member, according to a tweet and video clip that has gone viral:

“So, I will say what I know we all say and I will say over and over again, the United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO Alliance.”

Was this taken out of context, the result of too narrow clipping? Surely it must be so.

But it’s not so. I listened to the entire speech and particularly when she spoke about Ukraine (you can watch here)

Harris likely didn’t write the speech, and she read from a teleprompter. Maybe she was thinking of some other angle when she read that sentence out loud that she didn’t state.

But the optics are horrible, once again, of the first in line for the presidency appearing not ready for prime time.
