Harris: U.S. “stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO Alliance” (Ukraine is not in NATO)

Harris: U.S. “stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO Alliance” (Ukraine is not in NATO)

The optics are horrible, once again, of the first in line for the presidency appearing not ready for prime time.

I saw a really offensive tweet the other day (via Inatapundit):

“Kamala Harris is everything the left said Sarah Palin would be.”

That’s deeply offensive and insulting … to Sarah Palin.

Harris is the clown car of Vice Presidents, someone so obviously in over her head it’s a national embarrassment.

Harris gave a speech today at a Democratic National Committee event. And she appeared not to know that Ukraine was not a NATO member, according to a tweet and video clip that has gone viral:

“So, I will say what I know we all say and I will say over and over again, the United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people in defense of the NATO Alliance.”

Was this taken out of context, the result of too narrow clipping? Surely it must be so.

But it’s not so. I listened to the entire speech and particularly when she spoke about Ukraine (you can watch here)

Harris likely didn’t write the speech, and she read from a teleprompter. Maybe she was thinking of some other angle when she read that sentence out loud that she didn’t state.

But the optics are horrible, once again, of the first in line for the presidency appearing not ready for prime time.

Yesterday the ladies on the View said those who criticize Kamala only do so because of racism and misogyny.

They also said that criticism of Sarah Palin was justified.

Just in case you were wondering what the ladies of The View thought.

Surprised, right?

The harridans on The View “think”?

that clutch of harpies couldn’t put a thought into coherent speech even if Dr. Thomas Sowell helped them

    Untrue.
Harris is unbelievably stupid, even for a black woman,

Picking someone for VP who is more stupid than yourself is a time honored way to make yourself appear smart. Obama did it when he picked Biden. Biden did it when he picked Kamala. Unfortunately for Kamala there is no one left for her to pick.

That would be so, if she was actually black. But she’s unbelievably stupid regardless of her pedigree.

Harris is a mere party girl. That’s all she is. And a lazy one, at that.

Usually high office humbles the office holder (democrats excepted, because of their infantile narcissism). Harris still thinks she can use the charm that worked on one homely old man.

Much of America deserves her, and deserves Biden. We do as well, to the extent we have repeatedly elected and re-elected the most corrupt bums to GOP high office. We are no less brainwashed than the woke weirdos we mock.

Funny how nobody questioned Stanford professor, George H.W. Walker’s USSR/Eastern Europe expert on his national security council, later George W. Bush’s Secretary of State CONDOLEEZA RICE’s qualifications, experience, or intelligence when she’d be dispatched to hot spots to advance America’s security and foreign policy interests.

Because of course she was qualified, experienced, and most of all intelligent. She was never a blithering idiot on the international stage like this Kamala clown.

Sweet the VP thinks Ukraine is in NATO. Give her the launch codes. We are in so much trouble.

Kamala Harris has an ego to match her incompetence. She’s Obama without the teleprompter, even when she has a teleprompter.

In defense of corruption, literal nazi soldiers, and the epicenter of moneylaundering for our rulers.

Prime time? She’s not ready for any time. A homeless bag lady off the street would be more qualified.

She is a Idiot, God help us

Did Heels Up take cackling lessons from Hillary? She is so grating.

The optics may be bad but I am relieved we are drawing the line at NATO countries, a commitment to defend Ukraine would hurt our credibility for defending nations we have commitments to, and potentially bring us directly into conflict.

ConradCA in reply to Danny. | March 14, 2022 at 5:46 pm

You think refusing to defend Ukraine after we signed an agreement with the to do that helps establish US credibility with our friends and allies? Your 100% wrong.

It’s almost like they’re trying intentionally to make America a laughing stock.

Ukraine is as corrupt as a country can get. The message from the left and mainstream media is all lies. Methinks Putin is on point for going into Ukraine.

E Howard Hunt | March 12, 2022 at 11:00 pm

I hope she becomes president. Things need to get a lot worse before they become better. Her becoming president might be the flashpoint.

I saw a really offensive tweet the other day (via Inatapundit):

“Kamala Harris is everything the left said Sarah Palin would be.”

That’s deeply offensive and insulting … to Sarah Palin.

I don’t see how. Unless you think the things the left said about Palin somehow reflect on Palin herself — and I know you don’t — how can saying that all those things are true of Harris be insulting to Palin?

I see only three possibilities: Harris is indeed everything the left said Palin was; Harris is not quite as bad as the left said Palin was; Harris is even worse than the left said Palin was. None of these say anything at all about Palin, so they’re not insulting or offensive to her.

    diver64 in reply to Milhouse. | March 13, 2022 at 8:42 am

I don’t recall Palin saying anything as silly as Harris has on multiple occasions. The post was pretty clear in it’s meaning. The left made quite a lot of hysterical claims about Palin that were not true, those claims are true of Harris.

      Peabody in reply to diver64. | March 13, 2022 at 8:53 am

They said, “If anything happens to John McCain, Palin is not qualified to be president.”

Obama said, “If you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”

Well, even with 3 tubes of lipstick on that big mouth of hers, Kamala is not qualified to be president.

Milhouse in reply to Peabody. | March 13, 2022 at 2:02 pm

They said, “If anything happens to John McCain, Palin is not qualified to be president.”

Which was a really stupid thing to say, since of the four candidates for national office, McCain, Palin, 0bama, and Biden, Palin was by far the most qualified to be president.

      Milhouse in reply to diver64. | March 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm

Palin didn’t say anything silly. Every statement she made was sensible and correct.

The post is not at all clear. How can it be in any way offensive or insulting to Palin to note that Harris is everything the left claimed she was? Unless you think those claims reflected on Palin, and I know nobody here thinks that.

Zimmerman disobeying an order from the police to stay in his car is a progressive fascist lie. He was outside his truck when to operator said he didn’t need of follow the suspicious problem (Thug Trayvon). He followed the operator’s suggestion and was walking back to his truck when Thug Trayvon attacked him.

She is an unqualified affirmative action VP and immensely vapid but I have to think that even she knows Ukraine isn’t in NATO. I think this is a case of a lot of Biden’s problems, just reading whatever is on the prompter without going over it first. She is well known for being unprepared.

SeekingRationalThought | March 13, 2022 at 10:22 am

Consider this comment alongside Ambassador McFaul’s comment that Hitler didn’t kill Germans and some actress’s comment showing total ignorance of NATO’s membership. Taken together, these comments show a frightening level of ignorance on the left. Not merely ignorance, though. They show that “progressives” will say anything, true or false, that they think will further their agenda. Siding with, or, worse, voting for such people is morally culpable. Failing to recognize that someone so ignorant and lacking in intellectual and personal honor lacks credibility on all issues is plainly stupid. You are who you vote for.

The other day I came to the conclusion that the left simply isn’t capable of logical thought, but rather, that they are programmed into applying a completely opposite, bizarro logic, in every situation. Not lost, just always going in the wrong direction. They start with the answer, and then work backwards to create the facts (feels?) which support it.

McFaul was correct. Jews were not Germans. That was the whole point of killing them. Some Jews managed to persuade themselves that they were genuine Germans; the Germans disabused them of that delusion.

The point of the Ukranian McFaul was quoting was that Hitler didn’t kill his own people, but Putin is doing that. Obviously this is not literally correct, since every government kills some of its own people, one way or another, but when the Germans came invading the Ukraine they didn’t kill ethnic Germans.

(They did kill German-speaking people, but only if you count Yiddish as a German dialect rather than as a separate language. As a famous Yiddishist once said, “a language is a dialect with an army and a navy”. I will say that in my experience the German dialect spoken in Frankfurt is so close to Yiddish that I had no problem getting along on a visit there, with me speaking Yiddish and the locals speaking their German, and we understood each other well enough. I’m informed that that would not have been so easy in any other part of Germany. So I’m on the “dialect” side of the debate.)

ConradCA in reply to Milhouse. | March 14, 2022 at 6:02 pm

Don’t be an evil idiot! Hitler exterminated a lot more people in addition to the 6 million Jews. He also killed his political opponents, gypsies, retarded people and Slavs. You need to remember that the 12 million people he murdered were all humans first.

It’s not that difficult. It’s clear she just missed saying the word “and”.

The United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people [and] in defense of the NATO Alliance.

Kamala said exactly what you heard, Professor. But apparently she can’t read off a teleprompter/her notes. The WH corrected what she said by adding in one word that she was supposed to say, but didn’t in the official transcript. Completely changing the meaning.

“So, I will say what I know we all say and I will say over and over again, the United States stands firmly with the Ukrainian people (and) in defense of the NATO Alliance”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WthlNwOad_g

“White House changes Kamala Harris’ ‘mistake’ in official transcript”

This is not a minor mistake. Its right up there with Biden drawing a distinction between a “minor incursion” and an “invasion,” Effectively green lighting the invasion. Or Amb. April Glaspie meeting with Saddam Hussein in August 1990. Several versions of the transcript of the meeting exist, and Glaspie herself offered several versions of her recollection of the meeting. A fair reading is that she simply didn’t attempt to convince Saddam Hussein to invade. Because she didn’t think he would, even though he had massed troops on the border with Kuwait. And that she was scapegoated for simply carrying out the policy of Pres. Bush to attempt to establish warmer relations with Hussein.

“…Glaspie’s cable was declassified after a Freedom of Information Act appeal by the National Security Archive at George Washington University. The cable, along with others obtained by the archive, suggests that she was largely carrying out a policy, pushed by State at the time, of seeking to improve relations with Iraq.

Glaspie’s cable says that President George H.W. Bush “had instructed her to broaden and deepen our relations with Iraq,” adding that Hussein in turn offered “warm greetings” to Bush and was “surely sincere” about not wanting war.

In the interview, Glaspie recalls that her meeting with Hussein was interrupted when the Iraqi president received a phone call from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Hussein told her he had assured Mubarak that he would try to settle the dispute, she said. Her cable backs up this version of events, though the Iraqi transcript has Hussein saying that Mubarak called before he met with Glaspie.

Glaspie said the Mubarak call was crucial in convincing her that any sense of crisis had passed. She said that she was “foolish” to believe that Hussein would not lie to both her and Mubarak, and that she left Baghdad to go on a short vacation. Before she left, she sent another cable titled “Iraq Blinks — Provisionally,” also obtained by the archive.”

The Bushes were no geniuses either. You’d think the elder Bush would have known not to assume you know enemy intentions, given his WWII service, but instead make your threat assessments based on capability. But, nooo! Bush 1 and 2 could never learn. In any case Saddam was convinced he had the green light, just as Putin thought Biden had given him a green light.

A President, or in his stead his VP or SecState, has to remember that every word counts. And Kamala couldn’t even read all the words if she had notes nor could she remember all the words. Again, every word counted and who knows how the old KGB thug is going to respond to the administration apparently thinking Ukraine already is in NATO. Harris is an idiot but then so is Biden, and this administration is a disaster.

The USA promised to defend Ukraine against Russia when Ukraine surrendered their ICBMs and nuclear weapons. Obama the Liar renewed this promise, but did nothing of significance when Russia attacked them. Trump supplied Javelin antitank missiles while Russia suspended their aggression.

Biden took millions of dollars in bribes from Russia and China which explains why he enabled Russian’s attack by declaring that we weren’t going to have our troops fight Russia, why we haven’t mobilized NATO for maneuvers on the border with Russia and why Biden refuses to send fighter jets to help Ukraine. Putin must have ordered Quisling Biden to block them.
