What happens when SCOTUS lies? asking for a friend.

Exiliado in reply to amwick. | January 10, 2022 at 8:36 am

    It’s scary, very scary.
It’s is very scary to think that someone so ignorant gets to make such important decisions.
But I think that’s probably NOT the case. This is NOT ignorance but intentionally lying, from the bench of the Supreme Court. Now, THAT is scary.

She’s not stupid; she’s a leftist and a liar and she’s on the Supreme Court. That makes her dangerous.

“She’s not stupid; she’s a leftist and a liar and she’s on the Supreme Court. That makes her dangerous.”

…and dangerous “to the Republic for which this Court is supposed to stand.”

Have you never listened to her questions and ‘arguments’?

        Sotomayor is frighteningly stupid.

        Kagan and Breyer are not.

But Sotomayor 100% is just stupid.

“The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour”.

I don’t think intentional lying from the bench is “good behavior”. Let’s put the wide latina on the to-do list for the next congress.

Oh, wait. The GOP only sends neutered jellyfish to congress. Balls and spine are hidden away in the fabled “lockbox”.

      Never mind.

We were promised a Wise Latina. Instead we got a Wide Latina.

Opportunity for the MSM “fact checkers”, those arbiters of sacred truth, to do their thing.

    Or not.

Wide, not Wise.

Spot on as usual!

Sotomayor is obviously NOT QUALIFIED to here the case.

Here’s a question: Under legal ethics, should Sotomayor be DISQUALIFIED? She obviously has a deep emotional connection to the case, part of which manifested itself by her decision to hear the case from a remote location.

Observer in reply to Stuytown. | January 10, 2022 at 10:54 am

Yes, she literally phoned in her ignorant and ill-informed comments — from her judge’s chambers, because she was too afraid to go into the courtroom. It’s understandable that she wants to be cautious with her own health, given that she appears to have multiple co-morbidities (e.g., diabetes, obesity, advanced age, etc.), but given her obvious handicaps, both physical and intellectual, she probably shouldn’t have been participating in this decision.

      Is “stupidity” a co-morbidity?

“It’s understandable that she wants to be cautious with her own health, given that she appears to have multiple co-morbidities”

Simple solution: she should just get the vax!
      She has, hasn’t she?
      Then alles gut, right?

The Gentle Grizzly | January 10, 2022 at 9:06 am

Sotomayor is the type the founding fathers had in mind when limiting the vote to males.

I would think that a US Supreme Court justice should have some intelligence. But I think the point of view of the (far) left is that activism is all that counts. She can be dumber than a box of rocks as long as she pushes left-wing policies into her decisions and tries to influence the court in that direction.

Lay off the frioles gorda, and you’ll be fine.

It should be noted that Sotomayer / dodomayer has attended all of this terms oral arguments in person except this case

Seen that night dining with Pelosi and Schumer. Who picked up the rab? Of course we know.

I don’t think it’s a good sign that we’re on the 10th (the first day of the mandate) and a temporary injunction hasn’t been issued by SCOTUS already.

Sotomayor is doing this to try and intimidate Justice Roberts on the bench, she did the same thing more explicitly in the arguments over abortion.

I hope Justice Roberts makes a fool out of her, but remember he might not and then who is the idiot us or her?

Paul In Sweden | January 10, 2022 at 2:43 pm

What is SCOTUS doing? I cannot believe that they haven’t ruled or made an announcement yet. The test kits are not available so the plaintiffs cannot be expected to comply. Also, I did not know that each worker is required to pay for each and every weekly Covid Test out of pocket. Why was this not brought up as a major burden for the plaintiffs?

Biden has just come out and said insurance companies have to pay for up to 8 per month per person, 32 for a family of 4. At their retail price, this could potentially be thousands per year per family and be a real financial issue for insurers.

Pasadena Peabody | January 10, 2022 at 3:21 pm

The fact that she included inaccurate information in no way changes her position. She made her decision first and then looked for material to support it later. She already knows how she will vote on any case that will come before the court without ever reading or knowing the facts.

Sotomayor has her mind made up and doesn’t even seem to care about basic aspects of Constitutional Law Kagan and Breyer at least make pretenses of fealty to the Constitution but view it as an obstacle to their conclusions

The wise Latina isn’t?

Say it ain’t so.

The Babylon Bee has the last word:
Legal Experts Ask Justice Sotomayor To Recuse Herself From Case Due To Her Being An Idiot.

We have nearly reached the level of mental incompetence immortalized in Idiocracy… and in my lifetime, for shame. The scene immortalized in this meme takes place among the “president’s cabinet” and not the Supreme Court, but… six of one.

Obama appointee, what did you expect?
