ABC Poll: Only 28% of “Nonwhite Americans” Agree That Biden Should Only Consider A Black Woman For SCOTUS

ABC Poll: Only 28% of “Nonwhite Americans” Agree That Biden Should Only Consider A Black Woman For SCOTUS

Seventy-six percent of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, do not think SCOTUS pick should be based on race/gender.

Perhaps it’s time for Joe “I am the Democratic Party” Biden to publicly declare that he is really Joe “I am the tiny radical progressive fringe 11% of the Democratic Party” Biden.  As he flails around destroying everything he touches, Biden is finding that the majority of Americans are rejecting his leadership and find him extremely unappealing, divisive, incompetent, ineffective, and unfit for office.

During his presidential campaign, Biden promised to select a black woman for his VP and to nominate a black woman for the Supreme Court.  Since that first promise worked out so well, Biden is plowing ahead with his decision to limit his SCOTUS nominee to less than 7% of the total population.  Needless to say, this is not going over well with the American public.

A new ABC News poll shows that a full 76% of Americans, including 72% of “nonwhite” Americans and 54% of Democrats, reject this self-imposed requirement.

ABC News reports:

A new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds that a plurality of Americans view the Supreme Court as motivated by partisanship, while President Joe Biden’s campaign trail vow to select a Black woman to fill a high-court vacancy without reviewing all potential candidates evokes a sharply negative reaction from voters.

. . . . During the spring 2020 presidential primaries, days before his set of big wins on Super Tuesday, Biden pledged to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, if elected.

Now, with the chance to do so, just over three-quarters of Americans (76%) want Biden to consider “all possible nominees.” Just 23% want him to automatically follow through on his history-making commitment that the White House seems keen on seeing through.

. . . .  Although the poll’s sample size was not large enough to break out results for Black people, only a little more than 1 in 4 nonwhite Americans (28%) wish for Biden to consider only Black women for the vacancy. Democrats are more supportive of Biden’s vow (46%) than Americans as a whole, but still a majority of Democrats (54%) also prefer that Biden consider all possible nominees.

The rest of the poll highlights Biden’s continued slide in popular opinion.  Unsurprisingly, Bidenflation is high among the American electorate’s concerns, and he is under water on every other issue in this poll save one, his handling of the coronavirus on which he is above water by one point.  Even Democrat voters are fleeing the sinking Biden ship.

ABC News continues:

A glaring weak spot for Biden is inflation, where 69% of Americans disapprove of his handling of this key issue. Speaking in Pittsburgh Friday, Biden acknowledged the crush of inflation, pitching his Build Back Better social spending plan as part of the remedy.

. . . . Troublingly for the White House, only 1% of Americans view the state of the nation’s economy as “excellent,”and only 23% say it’s “good.” Three out of four Americans said the state of the economy was “not so good / poor.”

Biden sees other troublesome disapproval numbers surrounding his handling of gun violence (69%), crime (64%), immigration (64%), the situation with Russia and Ukraine (56%) and the country’s economic recovery (56%.)

The country is split on his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, with 50% approving and 49% disapproving. And while support from Democrats trends higher than the population as a whole, Biden’s support within his own ranks is softening. In August, 91% of Democrats approved of Biden’s handling of the pandemic. Now, that figure has dropped to 82%. The drop in support among Democrats around Biden’s handling of the economic recovery is even clearer, from 89% in August to 73% now.

Oddly, Biden is still shilling that Build Back Broker boondoggle as a “cure” for inflation, when all it would do (if it had a chance in the world of passing, and it doesn’t) would be to increase inflation.

Biden’s presidency is crashing and burning, and he seems to be in the pilot’s seat randomly yelling about election subversion or weird whispering about . . . who knows what.

Shouldn’t the Wide & Not-So-Wise Latina recuse herself from the Harvard AA lawsuit since she, at every station in her life (Princeton, Yale Law, “public service” jobs, federal district judge-ship), has been the beneficiary of AA,

She is where she is today solely because of AA.

We already know how she’s gonna vote on the issue once she hypocritically refuses to recuse herself.

In any event she has the DOAT (Dumbest One of All Time) seat all to herself.

No, how she got where she is doesn’t create grounds for recusal. She’s not applying for colleges, she doesn’t have children applying for colleges, and she’s not a director of any college, so I don’t see any grounds for potential recusal.

I feel bad for anyone he does pick. That person regardless of their qualifications will always be known as the one picked only because they were the right skin color.

And if they turn out to be as crappy a justice as Sotomayer they will get it double.

From who? Lindsey? He’s already wearing purple, he’s surrendered like all the RINOs
I guess he doesn’t have faith in the return of Trump

Graham has always said he can support any president’s SCOTUS nominee if they are qualified and doesn’t judge based on ideology. It’s one of his defining principles, and however outdated we might find it, it’s at least honest. Joe Manchin has always said that he won’t support blowing up the filibuster, and he’s sticking to that. I like that. In fact, I kind of admire people who are honest and authentic, no matter how misguided, wrong, or destructive. That’s one reason I don’t “hate” Bernie; he’s a freakshow commie, but he’s real about it. Wouldn’t ever vote for him, but I can appreciate he’s the real deal.

Graham has done a lot to lend legitimacy to Trump and has stood by him for the most part.

As to having “faith in the return of Trump” . . . really? You have to phrase it that way? We’re not already being bashed enough as a cult? A “religion”? You want to cast Trump as the Second Coming? Sigh.

You and I share the idea of respecting the honesty if not the positions or beliefs.

Adlai Stevenson would have been a disaster as President, but I am just about positive he believed what he spouted.

Nixon, on the other hand, was a fraud. All this ballyhoo about being a strong anti-communist, but once President, saddled us with programs and laws that were pure dream stuff for the hard left.

Nixon was not a fraud. He was strongly against the Communist Party, and a champion of defending the USA and the free world from violent overthrow by the Communists. But he never pretended to be against big government, or socialist programs within a democratic system. In other words he didn’t want the USA to become the USSR or Red China, but he had no objection to it becoming France or Sweden.

I so agree! This is why I hate hate hate when the GOP puffs up about all its female/black/blah blah candidates. Pick the best person for the job, and they can hold their head high knowing they won the job on their merits, not because they happened to be born with a vagina or “nonwhite” skin.

As a woman, I am not happy to see “token” women trotted out by the GOP. I hated Romney’s “binders full of women” just as much as the left did, but for completely different reasons. How dare he diminish and make a mockery of fully qualified female candidates for admin jobs by declaring he is going to pick from a binder full of women? There is no way on earth I would ever accept a phone call, much less a job, from these woke regressive RINO freaks.

Call me because you think I’m good at whatever, not because I was born with lady parts. The first call is an amazing opportunity; the second, a slap in the face.

And yes, I hated it when Reagan did it and when Trump did it, too. It’s insulting, condescending, “savior syndrome” elitist BS and has to stop. That goes for both sides of the aisle.

Here’s an idea, Biden. If you’re so excited to support DIE, step down. You’ll “make history” by elevating a black woman to the presidency. Put your money where you mouth is and just quit. Let black female Kamala take over. She’ll be the first black and first female president! Only you, a decrepit old white guy, stands in her way. Move over for DIE! It’s justice. And stuff. Oh, what? Not that committed to DIE? Yeah, didn’t think so.

For elections, I don’t feel the same.

If a minority wins a GOP ticket and election, then you can bet they are the best. You can’t say the say for the Dems though.

Like they care.

Grahamnesty will vote for anybody the drooling moron cares to nominate, regardless of actual qualifications. He’s never met an insane far leftist judge he hasn’t voted for.

There are two forces that could cause the GOP to lose seats this November.

The first is election fraud. We have already seen the Communists talk seriously about removing Republicans from the ballot for “insurrection” (this is in addition to the usual fake mail-in votes and “ballot harvesting”, as well as sleazy last-second judicial rulings).

The second is the GOP leadership’s grim determination to veer hard left BEFORE Election Day. Usually they wait until after they have won to stab us in the back, but this time around they are getting an early start on their usual post-election betrayal.

Wasn’t there some guy who said something about not being judged by the color of one’s skin but by the content of one’s character? Maybe it’s just me, but what Brandon is proposing seems like the opposite of that…

Rigid, functional fixedness. No one has ever said that Resident Biden is any too brilliant… other than himself. The cretin is a mental defective, made possible by a corrupt country that will stop at nothing to defeat the Constitution.

Biden would NEVER have happened were it not for America’s foremost enemy, msm, via cable/satellite imposition.

As to a new justice? Nah. No need to do anything until there is an actual, verifiable vacancy. If Breyer wants to leave, wish him well, and when he is gone, then will be an opportunity to consider replacing that position. Or not.

That Resident Biden will only consider a candidate based on its complexion or gender is probably worthy for commencing impeachment based on his absurdly diminished intellect.

Milhouse in reply to NotKennedy. | January 31, 2022 at 8:24 pm

There’s no need to do anything until there’s a vacancy. But there’s nothing stopping the president and the senate from acting in anticipation of one, and that is what they intend to do. There’s nothing anyone can do to stop them.

(For that matter, there’s no need to do anything after there’s a vacancy either, as the senate demonstrated in 2016. But it would be difficult to justify holding a position open for 3 years.)

Things you don’t appreciate until they are gone: Having a President who trusts the American people enough to actually have a public list of people who he will pick from in case of a Supreme Court vacancy, rather than just *spring* some unexpected weirdo on us out of the blue a month before the Dem Senate rams through the appointment.

Milhouse in reply to georgfelis. | January 31, 2022 at 8:26 pm

That wasn’t him trusting the people, it was conservatives not trusting him. That’s why he published the list and vowed to nominate only from it, to assure them that he wouldn’t nominate some leftist that his sister recommended.

Look at Slow Joe’s promise to pick a female of color to be Vice President. Voila! Bimbo in Waiting! That’s working out well.

No one in their right mind wants to be deemed unworthy of representation, life, etc. Diversity (i.e. color judgment, class-based bigotry) is Pro-Choice dogma breeds adversity.

Sen Joe Biden chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1991 and was the leader of that “hi-tech lynch mob” that subjected Clarence Thomas to the most scandalous, racist attack ever seen. For people who weren’t around back then or missed it, it is well worth the time to go back and watch the many videos of KKK Biden in action.

In fact, if you really want a major dose of how dense and obnoxious Biden has always been, find any videos of him in action in any committee. And he is not the only one. Plenty of dumb and obnoxious a-holes in “both” parties.

So stunning and brave, that Henry Rearden. Marrying that little poor gal.

Remember the last time Biden made an appointment based purely on race and sex while ignoring incompetence and total unsuitability?

So how’s Kamala working out for ya Joe?

Biden should consider a black woman Neurologist to treat his alzheimers. Or else he’s a racist.

The problem the d/prog and the tribalism pushers and race hustlers have is that people observe this and don’t like it. The overwhelming majority want a qualified person not ‘someone who looks like them’. Beyond that most people want THE most qualified person and not simply A qualified person. After all the medical school grad with the lowest GPA is still a Dr……

When Joy Behar rants about Justice Thomas not counting as black or ACB not counting as a woman because they are race/gender traitors they blow up the argument for their version of diversity. In their worldview diversity is displayed by immutable characteristics by dividing and classification into distinct tribal groups who have a group identity and the engage in group thought.

These are the folks who push CRT/equity and DEI programs based upon group identity and groups of oppressors and groups of oppressed. The problem is individuals don’t fit into overly simplistic group categories outside the census. They have their own life story, influences, experience which forms their individual beliefs. People can’t be reduced to neat ethic or gender boxes.

I expect DJ to pick the most radical Black woman he can find and tell us that he is “swinging for the fences”. He will pick someone who might have a hard time getting 50 Senate votes.

    MisterSadFaceMcGee in reply to The_Mew_Cat. | January 31, 2022 at 2:21 pm

Of course he will. He will pick a loony lefty and when she doesn’t get enough votes, it will just be. “more proof of racism”.

“Oddly, Biden is still schilling that Build Back Broker boondoggle as a “cure” for inflation, when all it would do (if it had a chance in the world of passing, and it doesn’t) would be to increase inflation.”

Well, when you use that non-racist math where 2+2=5, then $30T=$0, and increasing inflation is the same as decreasing inflation. That’s what happens when your personal fantasy universe created from rainbow penumbras and unicorn pumpkin-spice farts works its kinks out.

Oddly, Biden is still schilling that Build Back Broker boondoggle

Shilling. And it needs a “for”. He’s shilling for that BBBB.

all it would do (if it had a chance in the world of passing, and it doesn’t) would be to increase inflation.

Well, that is why the pound is now barely worth a shilling, and I won’t even guess what it’s done to the value of the schilling.
