New York Gov. Kathy Hochul Makes Sad, Laughable Attempt to Stop Omicron via Mask Mandate
As Omicron has now been sequenced in HALF of U.S. states, it’s time to acknowledge past response policies have been full of fail.
Respiratory viruses are very difficult to contain and control. This is why when such viruses, when they can cause serious disease in humans, are studied and handled in high levels of biosafety containment.
However, since the “experts” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology made different choices, we are now entering the third year of pandemic-mania.
It is now being reported that the Omicron COVID variant is being found in the wastewater of major American cities.
Sewage testing in California – where omicron was first detected in the U.S. at the beginning of the month – found signs of the “variant of concern” in both Sacramento and Merced counties.
No cases have been reported there, KTVU reported Thursday.
Officials told Fox 40 that the findings indicate that the clinical cases of the variant “probably exist.”
There are 12 confirmed omicron cases in California.
In Boulder, Colorado, the state’s wastewater testing system detected levels of the variant, leading public health officials to tell reporters that there is likely “some low-level of community transmission,” according to Fox 31.
There are only two cases in the state.
In Houston, Texas, the variant was detected in wastewater earlier this week.
“In an emotional level, I was a little disappointed. I really wasn’t surprised- Houston is an International city,” Dr. David Persse, the city’s chief medical officer, told Fox 26 on Tuesday. “It really clearly points out that we have got a community spread of Omicron in Houston.”
In fact, Omicron cases have been found in 25 states. Of course, “experts” are sounding the alarm about death and dying.
Dr Gregory Poland is one of the nation’s top experts on vaccination and immunology, and works as an epidemiologist for the Mayo Clinic and is editor-in-chief of the scientific journals ‘Vaccine’.
As deaths in America continue to rise, he warns that people should not let their guard down.
‘32,000 Americans who think they’re going to be alive to celebrate Christmas and New Years are, no pun intended, dead wrong,’ he told DailyMail.com, as his calculations show that with the current death rate in America, around 32,000 more people are likely to die between now and New Years.
‘Not one of them believes [they will die].’
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is making a sad, laughable attempt to stop the spread of Omicron via a mask mandate…as if that approach has had any meaningful measure of success at any portion of the pandemic response.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday announced a statewide mask mandate for all indoor public places unless the businesses or venues already have a vaccine requirement in place.
The new mandate goes into effect Monday through Jan. 15, 2022, at which point the state will reassess its effectiveness based on Covid-related public health conditions.
Noncompliant businesses could be subject to both civil and criminal penalties with a maximum fine of $1,000 per violation. Local health departments will enforce the mandate.
If the experts were truly interested in public health, they would be stressing personal care options (vitamins, weight loss, exercise, enhancing ventilation of work and residential areas) that would be protective and/or reduce the potential level of severity of the disease.
If the politicians were truly interested in public health, they would be aggressively searching for treatment options, either with repurposed drugs or by funding novel research projects. They would be ensuring their citizens had ready access to cost-effective therapeutics.
The only actions taken by “experts” so far seems directed at maintaining their power and funding. Sensible politicians will stop doubling down on failed policies and take up new strategies.

Just pass a law and make it illegal for Omicron to come here. It works for everything else. Democrats insist that if they make it illegal to own guns and there will be no more gun violence because criminals will obey they law.
By the way, you can reduce police budgets and save a ton of money because police are not needed when you outlaw everything.

Masks are effective in operating rooms for limited periods of time and no where else.
Since the FDA itself is reporting that over 75% of reported infections are occurring amongst the vaccinated, and given that no Omicron deaths have yet been reported anywhere in the world, we should be banning these “vaccines” which the FDA research released by FOI requests revealed is killing people in droves.

According to the HHS hospital utilization numbers, less than 82% of New York’s total hospital beds are in use and only 8% are in use for COVID-19. 73% of ICU beds are in use and less than 16% are in use for COVID-19.
No deaths are reported from Omicron, either.

So I got a call from the hospital today that I am to check in and then head directly to the procedure area for prep (pacemaker upgrade to dual-chamber), and that there is a chance there won’t be an open room on the cardio floor so I may do my post-op overnight in the procedure area. The hospital is full not from WuFlu but because they are still playing catch-up from everything that was put off. Not to worry. This is way more calm than when the Mobitz II had me dipping into the high 20’s and I was wearing defib pads for 2 days.

Living and socializing in a small Up State Southern Tier County, there aren’t enough county workers in the health department nor are there enough county sheriff’s (who even would if they could) have the will and means to monitor compliances for this ridiculous mandate. Our Tioga Downs Casino generate too much state and county taxes to take serious actions against their best “Cash Cow” especially the high season of Christmas and New Years..

There’s a reason no sane New Yorkers have voted for an upstate creature for decades. The good Governess is from a town of 260,000 people, about 1% of the state. She is an inexperienced hard lefty, from a town known more for politicians in jail than politicians.

Oh for the love of God the Almighty! The latest evidence indicates that the Omicron strain emerged from a genetic combination between the WuFlu and another, FAR less virulent but more contagious version of a very common coronavirus isoform that causes a common cold. Of course people are going to catch it faster, but it doesn’t mean a damn thing that there is no vaccine against it. There has BEEN no vaccine against the common cold in all of human history.

At what point does a rational public see this for what it is… This is the nature of viruses, they adapt in the wild, they share bits of code with other viruses eventually. Before we know it, a common cold virus that has 1% of its code from Covid and they are still going to act like it’s a 4 alarm fire. No, this is the REAL pandemic:

Yeah, it’s full of SOMETHING and it’s ALSO a four letter word with the “i” in the same position but there’s an “SH” prior to that “i” and a “T” after it!
I’m still waiting for the Freedom Caucus and/or large group of prominent GOP to push back on the “700,000 dead” Big Lie. So long as that persists in the popular imagination, any and every futile, stupid and fascistic gesture will be seal-clapped with approval. If/when they drilled down to eliminate the coincidental deaths with-Covid, and the deaths of the terminally ill for whom Covid was, at most, a secondary contributor, I have little doubt that the real total would be far less than half.
And, of that number, far less than half would be under 70. So you would probably get to a number on the order of bad flu season for everyone but the elderly or already terminally-ill. This is not academic, but the frame in which every new Covid Scare and Lockdown is framed.
Omnicron so far is a Dud in South Africa (Where it was identified first, and is raging right now.) death-wise. A majority of cases in hospitals are folks with other commodities, and don’t even require oxygen therapy, let alone ICU type care or ventilators.
People need to understand, SARS-2 (Stop calling it “COVID”, That’s the syndrome it causes if you’re severely ill.) is going to infect every human on Planet Earth. There’s is no avoiding it.
There are two types of “virus kills” for SARS-2. The first is in the elderly, and people with weak/immunocomprimised systems. they die quickly usually, in a week or two at most.
The second is what I call the “Immune System Freakout” response. Those are the people who linger on and on on ventilators, clogging the ICU’s.
Their bodies literally keep attacking their own tissues, causing a massive inflammation response that often kills. It often occurs in the lungs, but can be in the heart, kidneys, or even (very rarely) the liver.
If you make it past your FIRST infection with SARS-2 and don’t have this response, you’re fine from now on. That’s not to say some later variant you might not get sick as a dog like a bad flu, but you’re very unlikely to die.
This variant is being reported it rarely moves into the lungs, it is mostly a bad headache and body aches, and low fever response. So so far if you’re going to catch SARS-2, this is the variant.
I urge everyone to get vaccinated. The fully vaccinated young so far NEVER get the second Inflammation and severe illness type of SARS-2. If you “Tough It Out” and just get infected (Which everyone will.) and you’re one of the otherwise healthy few you might not survive. or have severe lung damage. Tough luck for you if you roll the dice unvaccinated. Your choice though.
This virus is now “Endemic”. There is no amount of vaccines or lock downs that will avoid everyone’s infection with it. The pandemic is over. SARS-2 is here to stay.
The Spanish Flu was the primary type of flu for 37 years after 1918. Expect variants of SARS-2 to be constant. If you’re not morbidly obese, or very old, you should be fine.
The constant “panic” over this virus needs to stop. It’s not changing much at all but ruining businesses and screwing up the arts (Concerts, movies) and it’s just slowing down the inevitable sweep through people and the “herd immunity” that we need to stop the initial problem of first infection with the virus and the end of the extended “Panic” mode very time it pops up as a new variant.
The “Omnicron” variant literally has picked a chunk of common cold DNA, and could be the mild version most can get, tolerate the short illness, and recover and we ALL get on with our lives.
Oh it almost killed me in November 2019 (Came out of NYC, a visitor to there gave me their “Cold”) and I recovered. I should be scared to death, but I encountered it AGAIN in May 2020, off a person who had a confirmed case (Positive Test). I had a fever for less than day, and felt cruddy for about three days..
At work I was besides a pierce of equipment basically talking loudly (We’re both kinda deaf from years of noise exposure) to a coworker that had it in September the night before they went out with it, and tested positive. Nothing happened. The company for some reason didn’t tell us, and I found out two weeks later when he wasn’t at work (4 others went out too. Probably Delta.) for so long I asked. A coworker told me, they were friends outside work.
So your infection, and reinfection is inevitable. I figured out my first infection, and severe myocarditis, and heart surgery much later by symptoms. All the classic ones, smell changes, dry cough, then the diarrhea when the CDC announced them in 2020.
I had it BEFORE it had a name, or anyone knew there was a problem outside China. It was inevitable I’d catch it, just likely you’ll catch it too. Let’s get on with our lives.
