Chris Cuomo of CNN apparently used resources available to him as a member of the media to snoop for information on women who accused his brother, then governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo.

As awful as that sounds, Chris probably won’t suffer any consequences. After all, Jeffrey Toobin still has his job.

Brian Schwartz reports at CNBC:

CNN host Chris Cuomo used his media sources to find out info on brother Andrew’s accusers, records show

CNN host Chris Cuomo used his sources in the media world to seek information on women who accused his brother Andrew Cuomo, then the governor of New York, of sexual harassment, according to documents released Monday by the New York Attorney General’s Office.

While Chris Cuomo has previously acknowledged advising his brother and his team on the response to the scandals, the records show that his role in helping the then-governor was much larger and more intimate than previously known.

Chris Cuomo was actively in touch with Melissa DeRosa, who was the then-governor’s top aide, about incoming media reports that detailed alleged sexual harassment by Andrew Cuomo, according to exhibits from the Attorney General’s probe and a transcript of his interview with the state’s investigators. He also lobbied to help the governor’s office as it sought to weather the storm of accusations, and he dictated statements for the then-governor to use.

“Please let me help with the prep,” Chris Cuomo said to DeRosa in one message in early March. Then, three days after the New York Times reported in March about how Andrew Cuomo attempted to kiss a woman, Anna Ruch, in an unwanted advance at a wedding, Chris Cuomo texted DeRosa: “I have a lead on the wedding girl.”

Cuomo’s snooping led him to the reporting of Ronan Farrow, who wrote extensively at the height of #MeToo.

Brian Flood reports at FOX News:

CNN’s Chris Cuomo snooped on Ronan Farrow’s reporting on his brother, relayed ‘intel’ to Andrew Cuomo aide

CNN’s Chris Cuomo snooped into the progress of Ronan Farrow’s reporting about his brother Andrew Cuomo and relayed it to the governor’s inner circle, according to a newly released transcript of his testimony to New York state investigators in July.

Farrow, who famously won the Pulitzer Prize and helped launch the #MeToo movement with his reporting on disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, also took a deep dive into alleged sexual wrongdoing by former Gov. Cuomo, the CNN anchor’solder brother.

Chris Cuomo admitted to contacting colleagues of Farrow for updates but claimed it was simply “business-as-usual” to employ such methods. Text messages released by state investigators showed top Andrew Cuuomo aide Melissa DeRosa asking about “intel the CNN anchor had about Farrow’s report on March 15, to which he replied it wasn’t ready for publication. Farrrow’s story was eventually published on March 18.

Cuomo’s admission contradicts what he told CNN viewers in August when he claimed, “I never made calls to the press about my brother’s situation.”

CNN’s Brian Stelter, who covers the media, posted this meaningless statement on Twitter:

What a train wreck CNN has become.

Did we really need an investigation to know that?

Why would you expect ethical behavior from someone whose only qualification for his job was his connection to a powerful politician? Why would you expect any consequences for him treating that connection as being more important than the ethics of his pretend profession?

Fredo is on record from over a year ago explaining that “yes, he’s a newsman, but he’ll always have his brother’s back, it’s a family thing.” CNN has constructive notice, right there. Too late to grouse about it now. Not that they actually want to, anyway, or they would have done something about it the first time.

that reads like a defense of the scum.
Harassment is bad enough, but really, he needed to be removed for the purposeful deaths of the elderly in nursing homes.

That’s likely why he was removed for the “me too” accusations. Get him off the radar and the nursing home problem goes off the radar too. Or at least gives the MSM a reason to allow it to go off the radar. “What difference does it make?”

Thanks for the link. This is the first I have seen reporting on Cuomo’s accuser, Bennet, having previously accused other men of harassment. It does raise questions.

They are democrats. Criminals, but they are thier criminals.

They are democrats.

Cuomos, Bidens, Clintons. America’s crime families.

Will Fredo be allowed to resign or will he get the boot?

CNN will use this as a pretext to fire Chris Cuomo FOR CAUSE – so they do not have to pay him a severance (even so they may pay him something just to get him to agree not to sue them).

Chris Cuomo has become a liability to CNN. He was only useful to CNN when his brother was a powerful member of the Party. Now his ratings are in the DUMP and CNN needs new blood to replace him. Watch them find a replacement who is black, female transgender person who checks many many identity boxes. Or maybe they just recruit JOYless REID from MSDNC..
