Biden Claims Pope Francis Called Him a Good Catholic and Should Keep Receiving Communion

Biden Claims Pope Francis Called Him a Good Catholic and Should Keep Receiving Communion

OK, Grandpa.

Bull. I do not believe this one bit. Something was lost in translation or we need more context.

I’m going to say both.

Say what you will about Pope Francis, but we all know he is anti-abortion. He has also said that he would not deny Communion to someone in mortal sin.

First off, having the Church officially deny someone Communion is the last resort. I wrote about this subject in depth when WaPo tried to characterize the bishops trying to uphold the Church’s teaching on abortion as “right-wing.”

If you want to take Communion while not in communion with the Church that is up to you. God knows and that is all that matters.

I agree that as a prominent person with a podium Biden deserves more scrutiny than you or me. The US bishops wrote after Biden won in November (emphasis mine):

The Eucharist is the source and summit of Catholic life. Therefore, like every Catholic generation before us, we must be guided by the words of St. Paul, “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord” (1 Cor 11:27). This means that all must examine their consciences as to their worthiness to receive the Body and Blood of our Lord. This examination includes fidelity to the moral teaching of the Church in personal and public life.

But overall it is up to the person. You know you should not present yourself for Communion if you are not in communion with the Church. If you want to put your soul in danger and take Communion when you should not take it then fine. God knows and that is all that matters.

Second, Pope Francis uses strong language against abortion:

“There is the discarding of children that we do not want to welcome with the law of abortion that sends them to the dispatcher and kills them directly. And today this has become a ‘normal’ method, a practice that is very ugly. It is really murder,” Pope Francis said Sept. 27.

In a live-streamed address to members of the Pontifical Academy for Life, the pope said that to understand what abortion is, it helps to pose two questions.

“Is it right to eliminate, to take a human life to solve a problem? Is it right to hire a hitman to solve a problem? That’s what abortion is,” the pope commented.

Pope Francis also said: “Abortion is murder. Scientifically it’s a human life. The textbooks teach us that. But is it right to take it out to solve a problem? This is why the Church is so strict on this issue because accepting this is kind of like accepting daily murder.”

A hitman: “How can an action that ends an innocent and defenseless life in its blossoming stage be therapeutic, civilized or simply human? I ask you: Is it right to ‘do away with’ a human life in order to solve a problem? Is it right to hire a hitman in order to solve a problem? One cannot. It is not right to ‘do away with’ a human being, however small, in order to solve a problem. It is like hiring a hitman.”

I used to be pro-abortion. I reconciled with the Church and have not gone back down that path. I also do all I can to make up for my past.

Third, who is a “good” Catholic? Humans are flawed. I don’t think anyone is a “good” Catholic because we can all do better.

I know Biden and Pelosi are pro-abortion. We all know that. It makes it easy to presume what’s in their heart and soul, but remember only God knows that.

What’s the difference between a Baptist and Joe Biden?

The Baptist knows he’s not Catholic.

    JohnSmith100 in reply to LB1901. | October 29, 2021 at 6:49 pm

There is an abundance of evidence that the church often picks political expedience over what is right.

Yes but with this guy the question “Is the pope catholic?” is no longer rhetorical.

Not Catholic so no opinion if either is.

Pope Frank isn’t a good Catholic. How would he know if Joe was?

Years ago I assumed anything Joe Biden said was a lie. But now that his mind is in decline, it’s impossible to be sure if he actually knows what he’s lying about or if he’s just making things up.

“Listen to that,” said the man in a red cloak, “one animal says another animal told it to do something.”
–CORDWAINER SMITH, “NORSTRILIA”

I also don’t believe that Joe carries around Beau’s rosary beads. I’m VERY dubious Beau ever even owned a set.

Dead Beau has become nothing more than a useful prop for his demented father

Biden is a shameless liar and child sniffer/toucher, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Francis the Red said this.

Speaking as someone who was born into a Catholic household, baptized in a Catholic church, and educated in Catholic schools (though no longer “in communion” with it), I know that any institution that’s been around for decades, let alone millennia, is subject to corruption. The Church’s history is no exception.

Pope Francis represents a peak in the current tide of Church corruption; God willing, this too shall pass.

I’m not RC, my wife and all her family are.

And most are convinced a pope can’t resign, there cannot be two of them, therefore, Francis isn’t really the Pope. And may in fact be the anti-Pope.

If an individual is pro-abortion, that is something that is to be reconciled between them and God. If an individual expresses that opinion, again it is between them and God. If a politician or leader promotes abortion on a grand scale, the Church/Pope should take action against that person or group. Biden and Pelosi fall into that last category and the Pope should be resolute in his position and speak out against them in a public way. If not, then in private he should not be absolving Biden.

What did the Pope really do? We will never know because the Pope will not make a public statement contradicting the POTUS in such a way.

    CommoChief in reply to DanJ1. | October 29, 2021 at 5:54 pm

He may not have a choice. Consider that Biden has essentially dragged the Pope into a domestic US policy/political debate over abortion in general He has also specifically put the Pope into the position of endorsing both Biden and Pelosi view, among others, that a person can be faithful to Catholic doctrine while supporting abortion. That position is untenable for the Church.

That is why they have worked very hard to sidestep this issue as much as possible to defuse tensions. If the Pope allows these remarks from Biden to stand unchallenged or without any context then the very real possibility exists of antiabortion Catholics rebelling in some manner. The US Anglican (Episcopal) Church has essentially split with traditionalists joining and looking to leadership from more conservative African/Latin Dioceses. The US Catholic church doesn’t need this headache and I believe some sort of attempt to clean up the statement from Biden will be made by the Vatican.

I bet there was a refrain of “Eamus Brandonus !” in the halls of the Vatican

I can almost believe the Pope called him “Catholic”, but that’s about it.

If this person who claims to be the pope really said biden is a good Catholic, then this person is a heretic and cannot be a real pope.

If true, this person is saying you can fund the murder of millions of babies and still remain a good Catholic.

Impossible!

The USA and the most of the whole world are in the middle of a terrible holocaust, much worse than HItler.

Dathurtz in reply to ParkRidgeIL. | October 29, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Wasn’t there an event where a faithful catholic removed some earth goddess from the Vatican and threw it in a river?

None of the hierarchy is catholic. They are all heretic.

No surprise here. Commie Pope gonna support the idiot pedophile that is Slow Joe, American Socialist President.

After all, every Pope knows that God loves abortion. God especially those that facilitate an abortion for millions of people. (not the clumps, mind you)

Er ist auf Erden kommen arm,
Dass er unser sich erbarm,
Und in dem Himmel mache reich
Und seinen lieben Engeln gleich.

There’s not much in that about being a good Catholic. It’s by Luther though.

CapeBuffalo in reply to rhhardin. | October 30, 2021 at 12:56 pm

Good Pope Francisco can conveniently look the other way when abortion activists with money and power come visiting (Pelo$i and FJBiden) because he now worships the Norse Goddess Thunberg.

The morals and ethics of a monitor lizard!

Now it should be clear I’m no longer Catholic. If they don’t believe their own s***, why should I?

Conservativemike | October 29, 2021 at 7:00 pm

In my youth I was a devout Catholic. Alter Boy, etc. Planned on being a Priest. Fortunately my father said I was too young at the time to make that decision. He made a lot of mistakes with me, but that was not one of them. Today I am not in the church. Red Francis confirms that my father made the right decision.

I am somewhat fuzzy on the ins and outs of Canon law. But I believe it is not up to the Pope to decide whether “The Puppet formerly known as Joe” is worthy to receive Holy Communion or outright banned publicly from doing so. It would be up to Joe’s parish priest whether he should be privately instructed not to present himself for Holy Communion. A public ban would be the responsibility of and at the discretion of his bishop.

Again, I could be mistaken and correction is welcome.

Joe Biden not only thinks abortion up to the moment of birth is OK, but he also married a divorced woman (maybe lured her away from her then-husband). When I was a kid, those were all big non-noes for RC’s. I’m not RC, but I respect them for that.

What part of the following is not clear?

https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/resource/55003/abortion-catechism-of-the-catholic-church

“2270 Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. 72

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. 73

My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth. 74

2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. 75…”

Is this not clear for anyone? If you don’t like it, don’t be a Christian. I’m sorry but not sorry. Which of course means, not sorry. At all.

The 3rd Commandment means not doing evil in the name of the most Holy.

Lots of evil has been done in pretense of His holy name.

I’m sorry for f**xing up my capitalization. I keep thinking about how I should spell s***. And I need to cut this out. Like this is worth worrying about.

https://www.carscoops.com/2021/10/vaughn-gittin-jr-drifts-the-faroe-islands-in-the-insane-ford-mustang-mach-e-1400/

e 1400 because, they say 1400 hp is all just anybody can handle. I say, closer to 600. That’s a lot.

Well, put it this way. If the Pope returned to the White House and Joe Biden stayed on at the Vatican, there would be no discernible difference in the way either one is run.

Biden subscribes to the Pro-Choice religion of the Progressive Church. In Stork he Trusts.

I only ask because, who have I hurt? I’ve owned weapons my entire life. One of the first things I learned is, don’t kill yourself. The second is, don’t kill someone else.

Biden claimed Corn Pop succumbed to his manly razor fighting and kids stroked his hairy legs. Why listen to this scumbag Alzheimer’s patient?

I believe others have touched on this. But it isn’t merely that Pelosi, Biden, et al are sinning themselves. They are putting their stamp of approval on a grave sin. Which leads some Catholics to believe there’s nothing wrong with abortion. This isn’t mere heresy; the term is scandal.

“CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
SECOND EDITION

2284 Scandal is an attitude or behavior which leads another to do evil. The person who gives scandal becomes his neighbor’s tempter. He damages virtue and integrity; he may even draw his brother into spiritual death. Scandal is a grave offense if by deed or omission another is deliberately led into a grave offense.”

I don’t expect the non-believers to understand or appreciate this.

“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain”

Using the Lord’s name in vain doesn’t mean cursing when you accidentally hammer your thumb when you meant to drive a nail. It means doing evil while pretending it’s just fine with the Lord. According to the Catholic catechism, abortion is intrinsically evil. You’re extinguishing an innocent life. Key word: innocent.

Allow me to expand on the matter.

“CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
SECOND EDITION

2263 The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing. ‘The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one’s own life; and the killing of the aggressor. . . . The one is intended, the other is not.'”

I can’t count the number of conversations I’ve had with pro-abortion Catholics since I’m in favor of the death penalty. They think the one is equivalent to the other. They’re shocked when I declare I’m in favor of the death penalty but I’m opposed to abortion.

Note the part of the paragraph I bolded. Societies, not just individuals, have the right and really the duty to defend themselves. Taking a job as a prison guard, or even serving a 5 year stretch for grand theft, isn’t supposed to be a death sentence. But if someone is so dangerous that they’ll kill even in prison than society has the right and the duty to execute such a person.

When Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, how did He respond?

“’The most important one,’ answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.’”

You can’t love your neighbor unless you first love yourself. That means loving your God-given gift of life. The Pope has a Swiss guard for a reason. And those boys are just there for decoration.

https://www.guns.com/news/2017/04/16/guns-swiss-guard

I’m constantly stunned by the stupidity that emanates from the mouths of the higher ups in the Catholic clergy. I could get started on how none of them have any understanding of economics. But I’ll just offer this headline.

https://time.com/3930178/pope-francis-weapons-manufacturers-christian/

“Pope Francis Says Arms Manufacturers Can’t Call Themselves Christian”

Who the f*** does this fool think is selling the weapons to the men who are protecting his life? Mary Poppins? I actually wonder why gun manufacturers take his s***. If I was a gun maker, I’d say, “Oh I can’t call myself a Christian? Fine. No more guns for your army.” I have it on good authority that the Swiss Guard know how to use those ceremonial edged weapons. Which is good; they already have them in their hands so if they get surprised they should be able to engage the threat with what’s immediately handy.

But they’re always packing real heat under that medieval armor. Also the Vatican has it’s own police force. And Red Francis is saying the people who make the guns that his army and cops use to guard him can’t call themselves Christian? You first, Francis. Disarm your troops and then make absurd announcements about who can and can’t call themselves Christian and see how long you last. Again, I have it on good authority that a lot of people who call themselves Muslims have wet dreams about decapitating you in St. Peter’s square, and then converting the cathedral into a Mosque.

But first, howzabout confirming the Church’s teaching on abortion. That’s taking an innocent life. Executing a criminal who has already proven they’re dangerous is not the same thing at all. That fetus hasn’t hurt anyone in this world. The reason that criminal is in prison is because that criminal has caused harm to others. If he’s (or she; I’m equal opportunity death penalty) is so dangerous that they’ll kill again even in prison then they don’t have the right to remain among the living.

I won’t hold my breath. I gave up on these clowns years ago. If Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden can be Catholics in good standing then that’s a club I don’t want to be a member.
