Psaki: ‘I Think it’s Irresponsible to Say Americans are Stranded’ in Afghanistan

NSA Adviser on Sunday: The White House believes “several thousand Americans” are stranded in Afghanistan.

President Joe Biden’s administration digs deep holes every single day.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki lost her patience with Fox News’s Peter Doocy because he had the nerve to bring up Americans stranded in Afghanistan:

PSAKI: “First of all, I think it’s irresponsible to say Americans are stranded, they are not. We are committed to bringing Americans who want to come home home [sic]. We are in touch with them via phone, via text, via email, via any way that we can possibly reach Americans to get them home if they want to return home.”

Um, maybe Psaki should watch this video from NBC News because it says “at least several thousand Americans” are stranded in Afghanistan.

The info comes from NSA Adviser Jake Sullivan. He said on Sunday’s Meet The Press the White House believes “several thousand Americans” are stuck in Afghanistan.

She disgusts me.

Word games – it’s all they’re good at.

You know, Griz, if ever you want stop in Memphis on your sojourns coast to coast, I’ve a safe place.

If the egress … is that right? … so absolutely safe, shouldn’t the ingress be just as safe?

Ms P could safely mount one of those ingress planes and report first hand how easy it is not to be stranded in Istanbul.

Antifundamentalist | August 23, 2021 at 6:02 pm

It is irresponsible to pretend that Americans are not stranded in Afghanistan or to pretend that the Biden Administration is not responsible for whatever happens to them as a result of how this fiasco was handled.

Notice: “Americans who want to come home.”

See the implication? “Anyone who doesn’t get out just didn’t really want to, you know? It wasn’t our fault.”

The usurper in chief used those exact same words in his speech the other day.
They are shaping the message to imply that Americans there simply do not want to return.

Calling these people ‘monsters’ is actually a compliment.

this is their way of pre-spin before the actual spin occurs, as they spiral down our throats a little sugar to help the medicine go down! Except they are preparing us for the poison hoping we are SWALLOWING THEIR DAMABLE LIES! Too bad they are not the ones facing the Taliban cause they deserve to be afraid for this SHITSHOW!

They can’t walk out the door and leave Afghanistan. They are in fear for their safety. They don’t know when and how they will be able to leave.

But they’re not ‘stranded’ according to her. I wonder if they think they’re stranded. Too bad we can’t ask them.

If I was on a small island and could not leave. If I didn’t know how or when I could leave. Would I be stranded on the island?

If I was on a cruise ship that could not dock and I had no other way of leaving. If I didn’t know how or when I would be able to leave the cruise ship. Would I be ‘stranded’ on the cruise ship?

As LBJ once said Jen, “You can’t polish a turd”.

henrybowman in reply to JHogan. | August 23, 2021 at 7:10 pm

I wonder if any of hem are stranded because they don’t have $2,000 to pay the exit bribe?
Hey, remember when the bribes Americans had to pay were to foreign officials? Good times!

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | August 23, 2021 at 7:30 pm

      1. There was never any bribe. It was a fee for a service, which the government not only routinely charges, but is required by law to charge (unless there’s a special waiver). None of it was to go to any official.

      2. There was never any demand to pay. It was a promise to pay when and if the bill came. So nobody was ever stranded because they didn’t have the money. At worst they would get the bill and not be able to pay it.

      2. In any case they waived it several days ago because of the bad publicity, so now nobody could be stranded by it in any way.

Those who are stranded are so because they can’t get to the airport, or on a plane. Not because they haven’t got money.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | August 23, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Bribe, tip, expediting fee, fee for service, tickets to the Policemen’s Ball.
        Words, words, words.

Milhouse in reply to henrybowman. | August 23, 2021 at 10:43 pm

No, it’s not just words. There’s a huge difference. When you go to the store and buy something, the price you pay, which is rung up on the cash register and goes into the till, is not a bribe. If you were instead to give the cashier a $20 to let you walk out with a whole lot of stuff that you didn’t ring up, that would be a bribe.

Being rescued from somewhere is not a free service. It’s standard procedure and the law that the USA will charge you for it. The government can waive the charge, and in this case has done so, but it’s not something anyone had the right to expect.

And in any case nobody was ever asked for money before boarding the planes. All they were asked to do was sign a note that when and if they got a bill they would pay it. So lack of money couldn’t and didn’t keep anyone from leaving.

Local government calls is “business license”.

DaveGinOly in reply to Milhouse. | August 24, 2021 at 6:48 pm

Milhouse, this is in response to your follow-up.
The problem here is that the “stranding” occurred because of US government action. The government put those people into danger. The government made it impossible for them to travel safely. When someone creates a problem and then says you must pay them to get out of the jam they put you into, that’s extortion.

henrybowman in reply to DaveGinOly. | August 25, 2021 at 12:14 pm

Not to mention that most, if not all, of those people are there in the first place only because they were required to be, in support of US military activity. It’s not like they were Vanderbilt heirs who decided to purchase a sweet vacation villa in Kandahar where they could winter.

Milhouse in reply to DaveGinOly. | August 26, 2021 at 1:23 am

And that is why the government decided in the end to waive the charge.

The facts remain that (1) it was not a bribe; (2) it was standard procedure required by law unless specifically waived; (3) nobody was asked to pay anything; (4) Therefore it could not have been the cause of anyone being stranded.

Comrade Biden’s admin has become so Orwellian that adjective is not even the first thing that comes to mind anymore whenever I hear their doublespeak.

I take it for granted they will lie and bleat out doublespeak. The only unknown is whether or not they will get away with it.

Thank God he provided us with an early warning system. This woman’s porcine features tell us all we need to know.

Telling the truth is inconvenient for the government I guess

“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”
    George Orwell

I notice that the Communists are back to comparing the people they disagree with to the Taliban.

But that’s ok. Like the Taliban, I could use a couple of free AR-15s and ammo courtesy of Uncle Sam. Oh – and a Humvee and a Blackhawk helicopter would be pretty cool, too

Ah, yes, that old Clintonian evasion tactic — “Well, it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is…”

The vile Dhimmi-crats revert to classic form, when the heat is on.

They’re not stranded yet, we’re still working on it.
They’re not stranded yet, we’re still working on it.
They’re not stranded yet, we’re still working on it.
This is old news. It’s time to move on. What difference, at this point, does it make?

Stranded, that was 4 or 5 days ago.

Irresponsible. That’s an interesting word choice.

“It’s only a flesh wound.”

Stranded is someone who lost their ID, the car broke down or there are no more flights. Hostages are people who are forced to stay. Just like the border it’s a crisis.

It’s immoral to lie on behalf of the Biden administration.

Well, of course no Americans are stranded in Afghanistan. As any fule kno, Afghanistan is landlocked — it has no strand, so how could anyone be stranded there?

According to Raggedy Ann, the lying communist propagandist, it is irresponsible to tell the truth.

The situation is beyond my comprehension. I hope to make some sense of it years from now.

After the Tolly Bon deadline they won’t be stranded as much as hostages more than likely.

I think it’s irresponsible to elect a mental retard POTUS, and an incompetent whore VPOTUS.

Welcome to the tower of complacency that you built, leftists. How about you go ahead and cancel CNN for this since you guys love to attack people on the internet.

If she had an ounce of integrity, she’d have resigned rather than become a parody of herself.

She’s nothing but a lying schumck.

Speaking of lying schmucks, where are the stupid late-night democrat ‘comedians’ in defense of the Afghan comedian Fazal muhammad Aka Khasha zwan was murdered by Biden/Harris’ Afghan goons?

https://twitter.com/Samiyousafzai/status/1419954955767754755

Of course they don’t know it, but they’ll be the first to be shot if America becomes a fascist nation.

In a few days this will be four or five days ago.

Don’t overestimate the voters’ attention span.

Comanche Voter | August 23, 2021 at 9:25 pm

By and large I don’t give half a rat’s hindquarters what this lying bimbo thinks.

I wonder what that mouthpiece would say about Americans who allegedly are not “stranded” in Kandahar roughly 300 miles from Kabul. Are they called “hostages”, or maybe “suckers” for trusting the Biden administration?

Fair warning:

Biden isn’t leaving, and the MSM narrative is already shifting.

In a few days we’ll be reading about the miracle.

You mean the “miracle” of getting everyone out of Afghanistan? All it would take to blow that up is beheading a few Americans on 9/11.

PSAKI: “First of all, I think ”

False

it’s ” irresponsible ” to say americans are stranded in afstan, so let’s just fkng lie and imply they aren’t

doubt any americans there are thrilled about remaining in a country where the central government is collapsing and armed thugs are roaming the capitol in search of the next name on their ” death list ”
