Job Posting at Bard College Requires ‘Commitment to Anti-Racism’

“This includes participating in any trainings when scheduled”

This is nothing more than a clever way to weed out non-progressives.

Campus Reform reports:

‘Independent journey with anti-racism’ is now a job requirement at Bard

Bard College is telling job applicants to “commit” to “furthering your own independent journey with anti-racism.”

The requirement comes from Bard’s posting for an Audience & Member Services Assistant Manager at its Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.

“All on staff are expected to: Commit to anti-racism and inclusivity at the Fisher Center. This includes participating in any trainings when scheduled, supporting departmental, company-wide, and cross-departmental collaboration in issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and furthering your own independent journey with anti-racism,” the job description states.

The job’s normal duties include executing “the day-to-day activities of the box office, and co-supervises the entire box office team.” The position pays $17.50 – $21.00 an hour and will be working 35-40 hours per week.

Many universities have similar requirements for current and prospective employees. America’s top colleges practice cluster hiring and continue to employ an increasing number of diversity, equity, and inclusion officers.

Many colleges have been using political litmus tests for over 20 years. I’ve been on hiring committees that have rated applicants on “commitment to diversity,” which means “commitment to left-wing politics.”

Bard College is just being more obvious about requiring applicants to show their loyalty to leftist politics. I wish someone would sue these places for political discrimination. I understand some of the California colleges are requiring applicants to prepare and sign loyalty oaths to left-wing politics before they will even interview them.

Does commitment to being anti-CRT count as anti-racist, or is that the wrong kind of anti-racism?

If you are anti-CRT, then you are one of the white supremacists that the White House has designated “the greatest concern for domestic terrorism.” You should probably join the Taliban, so that they won’t watch you so closely.

Bard? Bard?? Is Bard College even relevant anymore? $56,000. undergrad tuition & fees, and for what?

I suppose you could learn something there if you really worked at it, but with a humanities faculty almost totally polluted by trendy politics you’d have a tough time finding much worthwhile. Nor is it as though a Bard degree is going to open doors to fantastic employment offers.

Is this where rich kids go if they can’t get in anywhere else? Why would anyone choose to go there?

They also enroll a significant number of local prisoners without the usual admissions screening, some of whom go on to earn degrees. That’s a noble cause, but it may also affect the degree’s market value.
