Chicago Mayor Lightfoot Blames Guns for Bloody Weekend That Claimed Life of Female Police Officer

The city of Chicago was once again the scene of a bloodbath over the weekend, with 67 people wounded in shootings and at least 8 deaths.
One of the fatal casualties was a young, female police officer with a baby at home. She was shot during a routine traffic stop.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot addressed the tragedy and crime by blaming guns.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) claimed guns and “the violence they bring” are responsible for the death of Chicago police officer Ella French.
Twenty-nine-year-old French, a three-and-a-half-year veteran of the force, died over the weekend after she was shot during a traffic stop. French is the first officer to be shot and killed in the line of duty since Lightfoot took office in 2019, and the first female officer to be killed since 1988.
“Today is an official day of mourning for the city,” Lightfoot’s official Twitter account posted Sunday. “We lost a young officer. I offer my condolences to her mother, brother, family, and friends. Please keep this officer, the officer in the hospital, and CPD in your prayers.”
“Some say we don’t do enough for the police. Others say we do too much. All of this must stop. We have a common enemy: it’s guns & the violence they bring,” she continued. “Two young people did what we asked of them: service over self. And one paid with her life.”
“Devoted officers reported for duty today despite their fears & pain. These officers deserve to make it home safely today and every day,” she added.

During A Bloody Weekend In Chicago, A Female Cop Is The First To Die In The Line Of Duty Since Lori Lightfoot Took Office
Amid a violent weekend in Chicago, with at least 66 victims shot and eight killed, one police officer is dead and another is in critical condition after they were shot in the line of duty during a Saturday evening traffic stop.
Chicago police said two officers were fired upon after a vehicle carrying two men and a woman was pulled over at around 9:10 p.m. in the 6300-block of South Bell Avenue in the South Side of the City.
They were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where the female officer, reportedly identified as 29-year-old Ella French, succumbed to her injuries. A second male officer remains in the hospital “fighting for his life” as of early Sunday morning, police Superintendent David Brown said.
Chicago doesn’t have a gun problem, it has a crime problem. Lightfoot’s excuses don’t change that.

Well, that explains why Lightfoot doesn’t give a hoot in Hades about rapes, robberies, arson, burglary, and other crimes. It also explains why Chicago police solve only 1 out of 6 murder cases. If the “gun culture” can’t be blamed to score political points with the wealthy Communists that make up the bulk of her donor base, she could not possibly care less.
