20th Anniversary of The Sbarro Pizzeria Bombing Massacre in Jerusalem

20th Anniversary of The Sbarro Pizzeria Bombing Massacre in Jerusalem

15 people were killed, including 7 childen. Ahlam Tamimi, who masterminded the bombing, remains free in Jordan, which refuses to extradite her to the U.S., which she is indicted for killing American citizens, including Malki Roth.

As I’ve noted before, in my memory, there are certain place markers in the history of terrorism that led to where we are today. The 1972 Munich Massacre of Israeli athletes (1972); the bombing of the Beirut Marine Barracks (1983), the World Trade Center attacks (1993 and 2001); the Jerusalem Sbarro Pizza bombing (2001) and the videotaped beheading of Daniel Pearl, February 1, 2002.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the Sbarro bombing.

It’s something we have covered in great detail several times at Legal insurrection:

15 people were killed, including 7 children.

The mastermind of the bombing, who scouted the location and drove the bomber to the location, was Ahlam Tamimi, a psychopathic incarnation of evil who used her press pass for easy access, then after the bombing appeared on Palestinian TV to report on the bombing she had planned.

Her greatest regret is that more children weren’t killed:

She was released in a prisoner swap for captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, and now lives free in Jordan, which refuses to extradite her to the U.S. where she faces criminal charges because several American citizens, including 15 year old Malki Roth, were killed in the bombing.

Malki Roth’s parents continue to seek justice for her, as chronicled on their website, This Ongoing War.

Legal Insurrection’s Prof. Miriam Elman visited with Malki Roth’s father Arnold in 2018.
