Prosecutors Recommend ‘Substantial’ Sentence for Liberal Media’s Favorite Lawyer Michael Avenatti

Michael Avenatti, the Stormy Daniels lawyer, held up as a hero by the media under Trump, is now facing real prison time following his conviction for extorting Nike. Prosecutors are asking for a ‘substantial’ sentence in the case.
Let us never forget that this guy was seriously considered a contender for the Democratic nomination at one point.

Prosecutors ask judge for ‘substantial sentence’ for Avenatti
Prosecutors in the case against Michael Avenatti, the former attorney for adult-film star Stormy Daniels, are requesting that he receive a “very substantial” prison sentence after being convicted of attempting to extort millions of dollars from Nike.
The request came in a Wednesday submission in Manhattan federal court, according to The Associated Press, with prosecutors noting that Probation Office officials had recommended an eight-year prison term for Avenatti.
The California attorney, who rose to fame for representing Daniels in her case against former President Trump, was found guilty in February 2020 of attempting to extort up to $25 million from Nike so the attorney would not speak out on allegations of corruption surrounding the athletics apparel company.
“The defendant, a prominent attorney and media personality with a large public following, betrayed his client and sought to enrich himself by weaponizing his public profile in an attempt to extort a publicly-traded company out of tens of millions of dollars,” prosecutors wrote in their Wednesday court request, according to the AP.

The worst part for Avenatti is that this isn’t even the end of his legal troubles.

Avenatti’s legal troubles aren’t close to being over after he is sentenced later this month in the Nike case. He also will stand trial in Los Angeles this year on charges of defrauding clients out of millions, and next year he will go to trial in Manhattan again after porn star and former client Stormy Daniels alleged he stole $300,000 from her on a book deal.
Three years ago, Avenatti was a near-daily presence on CNN, MSNBC, and other liberal networks through his representation of Daniels and her legal battles with former President Donald Trump. In his hundreds of appearances, hosts delighted in his tough talk and pledged to be the one to bring Trump down; on multiple occasions, he wrongly predicted Trump would not complete his term in office. Despite his caginess and rainmaking style of promising damning information at every turn, the press turned to him again and again.

Getting sent to jail for things you did as an attorney is not what I would call a “successful law practice.”
He was a shyster lawyer who used the color of law to extort people and he also stole his clients money.
Scumbag Avenatti could have been as admirable a Dem politician as Dunk-em-and-leave-em Kennedy, or Sincere Shrillary. What mystifies me is why he is going down in a Dem-controlled administration. There must be a tale to be told there.
