Portland Antifa Riot, Tries to Burn Down Justice Center Again

Portland Antifa chose to commemorate the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder with vandalism, burning businesses, and attacking police officers.

Portland Antifa commemorated the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder with dangerous riots, including attacking police officers and vandalizing businesses.

The Portland Police Bureau declared a riot while pointing out others managed to protest in a peaceful manner:

At about 9:13 p.m., people pushed a dumpster against the Justice Center near Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Main Street. People tried to get a fire started in the dumpster. Many people approached the Justice Center holding umbrellas to obscure their actions and movements. At least two people pried at doors on the north side of the building. Several people used umbrellas to conceal their actions and lit a fire in the dumpster at about 9:21 p.m. while people chanted to burn the building down.

Based on the criminal activity of people in the crowd, officers gave public address announcements that the assembly was unlawful. Officers moved toward the crowd to create space for Portland Fire and Rescue to safely enter the block to put out the dumpster fire against the building. People threw frozen water bottles, glass bottles, eggs and metal spikes at officers and fired mortar-style fireworks at officers. People tore down fencing around Chapman Square Park and used fence segments to block Southwest 4th Avenue near Southwest Main Street.

Police cleared metal spikes from the street so firefighters could get close enough to extinguish the fire. People in the crowd formed rows while those closer to the front of the crowd held umbrellas to obscure the view behind them. People from further back threw objects at officers including frozen water bottles, eggs and metal spikes. When the fire was out and firefighters got safely away, officers deployed smoke then left the area.

Some people did not listen. They encouraged people to continue through the city and damage businesses:

While the crowd blocked the intersection of Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Main Street, some people incited others to move through the city to destroy property. At about 9:51 p.m. the crowd of over 200 moved west toward City Hall where people broke out windows. They walked north along Southwest 5th Avenue breaking windows and damaging property. Police gave public address announcements declaring the violent and tumultuous conduct of the crowd a riot and gave directions to disperse.

As the crowd walked through downtown, some people broke windows and damaged property at businesses. Slowly, as the number of people in the crowd became smaller and smaller, they began to spread out, fight among themselves and light occasional trash can fires. People within the crowd were overheard saying the night was a success.

The rioters attempted to burn down the Justice Center, which they did a year ago.

The people get the government they deserve.

If ONLY these rioters had been arrested at some point!!!!!

Armed militias roaming the streets imposing their will with state sanctioned violence and the only recourse is against people who dare speak out or defend themselves. Who wouldn’t want to live there?

Russia/China, mission accomplished in that hell hole of a city.

kyrrat in reply to Andy. | May 26, 2021 at 1:27 pm

They have been arrested, repeatedly. The DA refuses to charge them.

Andy in reply to kyrrat. | May 26, 2021 at 3:15 pm

I didn’t lay the sarc on thick enough?

Not only were they arrested, but at one point they were arrested by feds and were about to be charged in federal court to the max with no plea options and no parole options. This was until Biden took office and all charges were dropped with extreme prejudice.

STATE SANCTIONED VIOLENCE. In all honesty, its a just dessert for that city and all blue cities. My sympathies to the innocents there who are stuck in these hell holes and did not choose this path. The liberal voters have earned it with interest.

bullhubbard in reply to kyrrat. | May 27, 2021 at 9:19 am

That’s because the DA and the mayor are both sympathetic to antifa’s alleged politics and fear the consequences of acting against them. Apparently, in Portlandia normal people who like Capitalism and just want to get on with their lives have been cowed by these creeps and disillusioned with the state who supports their tormentors with a craven hands-off policy.

It is no surprise why the rest of us never hear anything from your average Portland citizen regarding antifa’s cozy deal with the city and state “authorities.” For whatever reasons, the Propaganda Wing of the Democratic Party (multinational corporate news media) continues to treat the destruction of a major American city as not “newsworthy.”

Andy in reply to bullhubbard. | May 27, 2021 at 3:27 pm

One wonders where these punks park their cars while they are setting fire to the city. It’d be a shame if something happened to them.

I do believe Trump did not have the military behind him
Look at what the cowards said after the thugs attacked and fire bombed the church across the street from the WH
Let’s not even talk about the Satan Bishop

Stop calling it a riot! People might get the weird idea there’s something bad happening!

How Antifa continues to miss the incredibly deep and obvious irony of their “mission” and “tactics” baffles me.

This is what an actual insurrection looks like.

Where are the Proud Boys? They’re the group causing all the troubles and fires. Right? That’s what the Democrats have told us. Ds can’t be wrong.

DrewCWSJ in reply to Indigo Red. | May 26, 2021 at 2:10 pm

Proud Boys leadership were arrested or are living in fear over the Jan 6th “insurrection” prosecutions. I believe several are being held without bail and facing 20 year+ charges.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to DrewCWSJ. | May 26, 2021 at 3:59 pm

I think some are also being held in solitary confinement. Funny, Democrats and their allies are never held in solitary confinement, if held at all.

gonzotx in reply to Indigo Red. | May 26, 2021 at 6:24 pm

What’re are the Republicans fighting for the Jan 6 citizens?

    No where, absolutely no where.

Even President Trump does not do enough for these people.
    They were there for HIM

There’s a movement to dump Kevin McCarthy before he can become the next Boehner.

He gives much too much deference to the ten guys in the GOPe, comapred to the 80 millions of us behind Trump.

      He’s got to go.

I actually live in Portland. This violence has been going on for more than four years and really dates back to the occupy movement which began in Seattle at the 1999 WTO protests and has never really stopped. Portland residents by and large supported Occupy and still a majority support Antifa. The mayoral contest in 2020 was between an Antifa enabler and an Antifa founder. Oh and the mayor also has direct management of the police department.

Just a few months ago Antifa posted death threats against the mayor for cracking down, finally after eight years, and arresting rioters. Of course the city DA and Oregon AG will not prosecute so it is all kabuki theater.

Antifa has been very careful not to cross a thin line into murder. At some point they will lose control of some of their most violent members and people, maybe important people will die. I hope this will wake up the population to this poison in their midsts, but they will blame it on Trump and “white supremacists” and keep on voting in the loons.

“Slowly, as the number of people in the crowd became smaller and smaller, they began to spread out, fight among themselves and light occasional trash can fires. People within the crowd were overheard saying the night was a success.”

I believe this particular leftist behavior goes by the name “chimping out.” Ironically, I’m going to bet the practitioners were largely white people.

gonzotx in reply to DrewCWSJ. | May 26, 2021 at 7:14 pm

They have murdered, more than once

“At some point they will lose control of some of their most violent members and people,…”

They won’t ‘lose control’. Rather, they’ll intentionally turn them loose when the time is right: like on the eve of election day – if the voting machine scam can’t be put in place.

MajorWood in reply to DrewCWSJ. | May 27, 2021 at 1:58 am

Someone is going to get impatient because they want to be “the one” and it is all going to backfire. Klinton messed up with Waco, and I have a feeling that one of the CHAZ zones is going to screw itself some way and then it will all start to come undone. About 50 of antifa were massing at one of the MAX stations as I went by today. Pressure be building.

JusticeDelivered in reply to DrewCWSJ. | May 27, 2021 at 8:05 pm

    When are you moving?

The video that shows broken store-front windows and the sound of breaking glass.

Can’t help but be reminded of Crystal Nacht when narrow-minded thugs went after businesses in Germany about 85 years ago.

A priori you know that anything named “justice center” has nothing to do with justice.

On the other hand you don’t want justice, you want to enforce the law.

Burning down a Legal Center would be a real offense.

I’m sure all a mistake, maybe someone accidentally dropped their candle for the solemn ceremony, or dropped a match accidentally from a cigarette. No way this peaceful outpouring was causing trouble.
You’ll see no arrests will be made or stick to prove it.

Am I wrong in wishing the police could be authorized to shoot these A*******?

Andy in reply to Wisewerds. | May 26, 2021 at 3:19 pm

Shoot them for what? For terrorizing leftists? I’m bordering on sending them money, except the commies and our government have already funded them pretty well.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Andy. | May 26, 2021 at 4:05 pm

This should be a lesson for all. This train has been moving down this track for decades, and no one did anything. When these leftist get a seat in the government, by what ever means of in whatever capacity such as being hired into it organize, protest, and expel them. This includes teachers and administrators. These are public employees and do not get to do as they please of the public payroll. They answer to you or they are gone. Do not let them assert they have any independence from your oversight and blessing.

Some of my posts advocating dealing with low life, both domestic and internationally have dissapeared, so perhaps it is wrong.

These events are fast becoming a favorite ‘spectator sport’. Is there a website that aggregates the footage or has streaming coverage?

Someone should take the opportunity to monetize this. Maybe call it ‘Action Live’ and dispatch a low key video team to simply take footage and provide relevant facts while leaving analysis to a separate long form podcast.

They could sell or licence the footage to the larger news organizations. In the ‘off season’ so to speak they could partner with foreign freelance correspondents in other mothers of interest; France, Britain, ECT.

    Places of interest.. wtf autocorrect?

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to CommoChief. | May 26, 2021 at 4:09 pm

Maybe aka “Jackass” they will start to encourage each other to do more and more outrageous stuff for the camera?

In actuality, these thugs are well trained, well organized, disciplined, and protected by political and legal leadership.

Seriously, it you live in Portland, why?

CommoChief in reply to Brave Sir Robbin. | May 26, 2021 at 5:36 pm

      BSR,

Yeah the evolution of the tactics employed and the standardization of the tactics by the core ‘black bloc’ nuts is evident. Lots of improvement from a year ago.

Every pause gives them an opportunity to train and indoctrinate newcomers. Their numbers grow while the numbers of available LEO shrink.

Why anyone not ideologically aligned with these anarchists would continue to remain in any of these blue enclaves is beyond my comprehension.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to CommoChief. | May 26, 2021 at 9:00 pm

In early Nazi Germany, the Brown Shirts marched around town in mass, and if someone did not make the Hitler salute as they marched by, they were attacked and beaten up. If people were noticed to be trying to avoid the march, they were hunted down and beaten up. If police intervened, they were beaten up. It became easier to just give the Nazi salute to avoid trouble. Then if you did not wear a Nazi arm band or pendant, they attacked you and beat you up, so it just became easier to wear an arm band and pendant. Then the real Nazis were hidden amongst the rest of people, who could not now tell who were the Nazis and who were not, so everyone gave the old Heil Hitler! to everyone else to avoid getting beaten up, or hauled in for questioning by the Gestapo, and so at that point the Nazis were in complete control of society.

So see what Antifa, BLM and the COVID Mask Nazis are doing today. They march by and you must show them your support, or you get accosted and perhaps beaten up. You get censored, and silenced, and perhaps lose your job. Meanwhile, radical elements infiltrate the government and purge it and dominate, while creating phantom domestic enemies that must be suppressed.

It’s the same people with the same tactics. It’s 1933 again.

    Good idea

RandomCrank | May 26, 2021 at 8:06 pm

We live 75 miles from Portland, in the countryside. We go there every month or so for utilitarian reasons, but haven’t been downtown for several years. Before the city began nosediving about 5 years ago, we enjoyed restaurants and shops in what was a very pleasant place.

The rioting over the past year is the culmination of a rising tide of disorder that began before that, so we began avoiding the city except for necessary trips. It’s easy (and tempting) to scoff and write off the city and its people, with considerable justification, but then I realize that plenty of folks are, in the real world, frozen in place by quotidian constraints: jobs, kids’ schooling, ties of family and acquaintance.

It’s no small challenge to leave those things behind, as we did when we left Seattle 3-1/2 years ago. Trust me, the older you get, the harder it is to pick up stakes. Not only because of what I mentioned, but the sheer logistics are daunting. Yes, it can be done, but as someone who’s moved around a lot, I can say that it’s difficult even for someone like me who’s much more accustomed to it than most people are.

At what point does the fault belong to the people of Oregon?

By the way if the Jan 6th riot was an insurrection this Portland stuff is nuclear Armageddon.

RandomCrank in reply to Danny. | May 26, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Be aware that Oregon is the size of the United Kingdom, and opinions vary quite widely. Do NOT blame the people east of the mountains for that bitch in Salem.

bullhubbard in reply to RandomCrank. | May 27, 2021 at 9:29 am

Then you sane Oregonians had better get out the vote. Politically defeating the majority of antifa supporters and sympathizers in Portlandia is the problem. The “silent majority” needs to turn up the volume.

Ya know, dogs and hogs will shit where they eat. Sorry to be crude, but if the analogy fits…..

TheOldZombie | May 27, 2021 at 12:41 am

The police should mess with the idiots. When the idiots show up to the Justice Building the police should set it on fire first. Confuse the hell out of the idiots.

Is it just me, or does anyonwe else want to see these fools exterminated?
