DOD Attacks Tucker Carlson for Criticizing Biden’s Woke Military Changes

Carlson responded: “Since when does the Pentagon declare war on a domestic news operation? We can’t remember that ever happening. But we’re going to pass on that, because this is bigger than a feud with some flack at the Pentagon. This is genuinely worrisome.”

On Monday, President Biden announced the nominations of Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost and Army Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson to, respectively, lead the U.S. Transportation Command and the U.S. Southern Command.

Monday also happened to be “International Women’s Day.” Biden designed his speech to showcase the administration’s and the U.S. military’s supposed commitment to diversity, women’s rights, etc. You’ll notice it when you read how the Dept. of Defense framed the event on their website:

Diversity was on display at the White House today as President Joe Biden introduced Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost as his choice to command U.S. Transportation Command and Army Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson for promotion to general and commander of U.S. Southern Command.

Furthering these examples of diversity, the president was introduced by Vice President Kamala Harris, first African American, first South Asian and first woman elected to a national office. And she was introduced by Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, the first African American to serve in that capacity.

During the speech, Biden also emphasized other changes that happening in the military to accommodate women, including the creation of maternity flight suits:

You know, some of — some of it is relatively straightforward work where we’re making good progress designing body armor that fits women properly; tailoring combat uniforms for women; creating maternity flight suits; updating — updating requirements for their hairstyles.

And some of it is going to take — and — you know, an intensity of purpose and mission to really change the culture and habits that cause women to leave the military.

Watch:

Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded to Biden’s comments during his show Tuesday night. He noted that the administration has politicized and feminized our military as China makes its military bigger, stronger, and more masculine:

“So we’ve got new hairstyles and new maternity flight suits, pregnant women are going to fight our wars,” Carlson continued. “It’s a mockery of the U.S. military. While China’s military becomes more masculine as it assembles the world’s largest Navy, our military needs to become more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore because men and women no longer exist. The bottom line is it’s out of control. And the Pentagon’s going along with this. This is a mockery of the U.S. Military and its core mission which is winning wars.”

Watch:

He pointed out the United States military has spent too much time focusing on trying to appear “woke” while China’s military was getting larger, stronger, and more dangerous.

Serious-minded people got the point and responded accordingly:

Though we live in serious times, we are also dealing with some dangerously unserious-minded people in the mainstream media, in Congress, and in leadership positions both in the military and the federal government. Here’s how supposed objective reporters and Democrats alike (can you tell the difference between them below? I can’t) framed Carlson’s comments:

Next to the “racism” card, the “sexism” card is a favorite for the left to play.

In the mad dash to prove to women how they need defending from scary cable news talk show hosts, the Pentagon spokesman provided a verbal response to Carlson’s comments. But also check out the press release the Pentagon crafted to respond to what Carlson said:

Gotta love the priorities here, right? I mean the Pentagon basically proved Tucker Carlson’s point:

Last night, Carlson responded to the outcry. He stressed that we all had the right to raise questions when it’s become obvious that the administration is using our military for social experiments, especially at a time when other countries are doing the exact opposite by beefing up their might:

Thursday, the Department of Defense launched a large and coordinated public relations offensive against this show. Pentagon brass issued hostile statements. People in uniform sent out videos on social media. The DOD even issued a news release attacking us: “Press Secretary Smites Fox Host”. (Smites! Like we’re a hostile foreign power.) We suspect this is one war they might actually win. They’ve got a manpower advantage.

We could play you a lot of the tape from this today — it took up most of their day — and we could marvel over it. Since when does the Pentagon declare war on a domestic news operation? We can’t remember that ever happening. But we’re going to pass on that, because this is bigger than a feud with some flack at the Pentagon. This is genuinely worrisome.

The Department of Defense has never been more aggressively or openly political. There are, at present, 2,500 American troops stationed in Afghanistan. They remain there to prevent the fall of Kabul to extremists. Simultaneously, there are 5,000 troops in our own Capitol, also as protection against “extremists,” meaning people who voted for the losing candidate in the last election. Judging by those numbers, the Pentagon is twice as focused on controlling our own citizens as it is on controlling the Taliban.

Instead of backing down in response to the backlash, Carlson spent a full 10 minutes expanding on the points he made Tuesday. Watch the full segment below:

First, the Lois Lerner and the IRS. Then Brenne and the CIA. Then Wray and the FBI. Then pelosi militarized DC. Now this clown Lloyd Austi and the military.

It’s done: our government is completely corrupted and at war – with us.

Wait till about a year from now..

Secession is our only hope.

I accidentally rated your post positive because I didn’t hear that lunacy you wrote about “Secession is our only hope”.

1865 remember that? That kindoff answered a states right to secede. Maybe instead of being a lunatic you could suggest a sollution?

One great one would be to vote for less pro-military candidates in the primary!!! Imagine that react to military politicization by cutting their budget and ending the pretense we are at war!!!

Or you could rant like a lunatic whatever floats your boat.

Ironclaw in reply to Danny. | March 12, 2021 at 6:48 pm

Do you actually think elections matter anymore? They know, not only that they CAN steal elections, but that they have done so and there’s no penalty even if they get caught.

Danny in reply to Ironclaw. | March 13, 2021 at 2:03 am

You are listening to very expensive fairytales with this stolen election stuff.

How stupid do you think Trump is? He had two months to lodge whatever complaints he had about the election in court.

He alleged fraud a total of zero times.

At least pick a narrative that turns our side out to the polls instead of one that suppresses our turnout while encouraging Democrat turnout.

You could either throw your hands in the air like your doing now and resort to fairytales or try to fix things.

If you have a Republican rep or senator writing to him or her could make a big difference, get your friends to write to make this an issue.

Or rant about elections being irrelevant on the internet and discuss secession as if the civil war never happened whatever makes you happier.

          JCC76 in reply to Danny. | March 13, 2021 at 8:38 am

I’ve fired of plenty of emails to my senators and representatives, I get a transcript of whatever press release comes closest to my issue. If you get a different response from your reps please tell me your secret.

I understand your point, but . . . . Secession would leave us (and the rest of the world) would be much, much worse off if the United States were no longer united.

We must launch an intellectual and moral attack against these woke bullies who hate Western Civilization and are doing everything possible to bring it down. They would benefit from a dissolution of our Union. Free men would not.

As a vet this is DISTURBING. The lower ranks never had much respect for the Pentagon/DC crew to begin with. ‘Fatass asskissing REMFs’ is about the kindest thing I ever heard about the Pentagon from anybody below the rank of Major.

But this is insane.

Carlson is saying EXACTLY what 90% of the grunts are thinking.

Having women in the military was one of its biggest and most ridiculous mistakes. They have significantly lower standards, they’re coddled at every level of training, they fill all of the ‘safe’ jobs, and if they ever actually get put in a unit getting ready for deployment 1/4 of them come up pregnant and have to be replaced a month before the deployment. The Marine Corps actually did the ONLY actual study of women in deployable units. In every single case, co-ed units performed below male-only units in every single measurable metric. They were slower to move, slower to respond, slower to take objectives, and were less accurate in fire.

‘Diversity’ is not a strength in the fucking military.

This is going to lead to a war.

China is going to look at the asskissing pussies ‘in charge’ and think that they can win. And TBH, I’m not sure they’re wrong.

    the_last_l3oyscout in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 1:35 pm

Only 1/4 coming up pregnant now is a big improvement. My company was deploying to an Air Force base with an Olympic size pool in Saudi Arabia, and we were at 80% of the females pregnant leading up to deployment.

Is birth control not available in the military? Or is general medical discharge their goal?

It’s not only available it’s free.

They do it because they CAN’T BE PUNISHED FOR IT. You CANNOT put it as a negative on a performance review that a woman got pregnant to avoid being deployed.

I had at least one peer that had a woman literally get pregnant, moved to a garrison position, and then the WEEK after the unit deployed she got an abortion. They were not allowed to put it on her performance evaluation.

          n.n in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 2:35 pm

          she got an abortion

Under the Twilight faith, Progressive Church, Pro-Choice religion, and liberal ideology, this is acceptable collateral damage for the sake of social progress, government revenue, and other purposes.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to locomotivebreath1901. | March 12, 2021 at 3:24 pm

Birth control is available. The women WANT a pregnancy to get out of deployment, or get done due to changing their mind. Or, they want all the benefits and none of the responsibilities.

Yeah but that’s Chair Force, I was in the Marines.

      Just kidding.

But seriously, I’m sure that the numbers vary by actual MOS and branch of service. My numbers are based on observation of Marine deployments circa 2010ish timeframe when a decent number of people still thought we were accomplishing something.

I’m certainly willing to believe it’s far worse now that NOBODY in the military actually believes we’re accomplishing jack shit in Afghanistan at this point.

        the_last_l3oyscout in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 5:38 pm

This was an Army unit (Patriot missile battalion) that was doing a regular rotation on an AF base. We knew we were going at least a year out, so the 8/10 women had plenty of time to time their pregnancies. To be fair, the other 2 women were excellent soldiers.

ronk in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 6:21 pm

the had a marine commandant that made the female physical requirements the same as the male requirements, he lasted 6 months

Olinser in reply to ronk. | March 12, 2021 at 7:03 pm

I don’t recall that. But when I was in, when they still had the PFT requirement and not the idiotic ‘combat fitness test’, the standards were pathetic for women compared to men.

As a man if you performed the exact numbers to get a 300 for women on the PFT (a max score), you would have been placed on remedial PT.

henrybowman in reply to ronk. | March 14, 2021 at 6:34 pm

F* em. Tell them you IDENTIFY as a woman. Presto, perfect score.

Seeing how China owns Biden, after paying him millions in bribes, we can expect Biden to give China a green light to invade Taiwan.

Paul in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 3:28 pm

“This is going to lead to a war.”

Not only will it lead to war, it will lead to our defeat in the next war.

And I believe that’s what the progs want.

BobF in reply to Paul. | March 12, 2021 at 7:36 pm

I’m not so sure it will lead to war. Rather, I believe the odds are that it will lead to outright and quick capitulation. Or possibly even simply rise to writing a strongly worded letter of objection. I can’t picture the Biden administration actually supporting our allies at the cost of actual war. After a 30-year career under a string of POTUS types, if I were an ally, or if I were an overseas-stationed military member in an areas likely to be subject to tough political pressure, I would be concerned. We might not leave a man behind, but I don’t trust this pentagon and administration not to.

ipolitics in reply to Paul. | March 12, 2021 at 8:18 pm

That’s exactly what the progs want. They seek the destruction of the USA so they can replace it with their “paradise.” They don’t care how many bodies they have to march over to do it.

Massinsanity in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 3:59 pm

“They were slower to move, slower to respond, slower to take objectives, and were less accurate in fire.”

As if any of these things really matter in combat. Get with the program… diversity is our strength!!

Neo in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 4:22 pm

    I think you missed it.
Getting pregnant won’t be an excuse to fly, so, why should it stop anybody from any other DoD MOS ?
Next thing you know, they will be removing “male” from 50 U.S.C. App. 453.

Ironclaw in reply to Olinser. | March 12, 2021 at 6:50 pm

You’re right, in a military diversity is not strength, uniformity is.

    wjf1939 in reply to Olinser. | March 13, 2021 at 6:44 am

Great commentary. My view is that “diversity” is bs. If you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen. This bs is another nail in the coffin of America.

Few things say diversity more than wearing uniforms.

So why is there no affirmative action program to draft women into combat? Should not women engage in combat until equal numbers have fought as the men did for 200+ years to make up for past discrimination? When are men going to wake up and fight for their equality.

the_last_l3oyscout | March 12, 2021 at 1:33 pm

Glad to see that government officials attacking the press is no longer a threat to our democracy.

Connivin Caniff | March 12, 2021 at 1:59 pm

Tucker is great. Unbelievably great. How does he do it night after night? I’d love to see a documentary about how he and his team create 5 shows a week of such high quality and cleverness, I could use that info!

I’m old enough to remember when the DoD had policy that restricted or prohited military personnel from engaging in overt partisan political acvtivity.

I guess that doesn’t apply to the wretched swamp rats inside the pentagon.

This is going to be a disaster if some horrible hostile foreign military notices or comments on our female officers boobs.

Observer in reply to Anchovy. | March 12, 2021 at 4:24 pm

It’s not them noticing the women’s boobs that is the problem. The problem is that while we’re worrying about hairstyles or uniforms that are comfortable for pregnant soldiers, China is thinking about how to win wars. And in every simulation between them and us, they’re kicking our asses. Our naval commanders can’t even manage not to crash their ships into each other at sea, but we can be sure they’ve done all the important training — like taking seminars on white privilege and microaggressions!

Diversity is not our strength. Diversity, or rather the left’s insane obsession with it, is going to get us destroyed.

Diversity (i.e. color judgment), not limited to racism, breeds adversity.

Can they abort the baby, canibalize her profitable parts, sequester her carbon pollutants, and have her, too?

That said, feminists, masculinists, and #CecileTheCannibal want to keep women appointed, available, and taxable.

“Since when does the Pentagon declare war on a domestic news operation? We can’t remember that ever happening.”

Ellsberg? The Pentagon Papers?

Diversity dogma, not limited to racism, sexism, is woken and drowsy.

Semantic games. Conception corruption. Conflation of logical domains. Progressive confusion, corruption. and collateral damage.

Do we still need to increase the military budget to ludicrous proportions whenever possible while giving a hallow discussion about balancing the budget?

ConradCA in reply to Danny. | March 12, 2021 at 7:01 pm

The defense budget isn’t causing our deficit, it’s all the other spending.

Danny in reply to ConradCA. | March 13, 2021 at 2:06 am

You can’t take things away from people while demanding they fund military expansion or an out of control military budget in general.

Our deficit is from all sources of spending including military and if it isn’t cut you can’t cut anything else.

Milhouse in reply to Danny. | March 14, 2021 at 12:08 am

Defense is the only reason to have a USA in the first place. I don’t know how much money the military actually needs, let alone whether that is more or less than what it’s currently getting, but whatever it does need must take the highest priority over any other spending. No other federal government program is more important.

The Chinese have a laser that hurts the enemy’s feelings to defeat the US in battle.

Massinsanity | March 12, 2021 at 4:07 pm

Shouldn’t the two people most offended by the the PR from the Biden administration around these appointments be Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost and Army Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson? Assuming they are truly qualified for the posts to which they were just appointed wouldn’t they want the story to be about those qualifications and not the fact that they are women?

I now question whether they are truly qualified and, in fact, assume they are not. Rather, it appears they were appointed to meet a quota, to provide a headline or a talking point. This is particularly so when they are mentioned in the same breath at the useless hack VP who was selected solely because she provided a twofer. A woman so feckless and lame that she could barely poll at 3% in her own party’s Presidential primary.

amatuerwrangler in reply to Massinsanity. | March 12, 2021 at 4:41 pm

I think you answered your own “questioning” with the balance of your post. Yes, if they are qualified they should be demonstrating their command abilities by making their qualification front and center. And even if they are qualified (and I have doubts) they are showing they not secure enough in those abilities to want to weather the storm they would likely create. This is not the leader that will feed their own coordinates to a fire mission in order to hold the flank of the larger unit .

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to Massinsanity. | March 12, 2021 at 7:58 pm

I now question whether they are truly qualified and, in fact, assume they are not.

    Of course, they are not.

We will find out the answer to many of these questions when China blockades the South China Sea or invades Taiwan. This will happen during the Harris-Biden administration.

A whole lot of folks are prematurely in their graves because they died on some ugly far-away battlefield so that taxpaying Americans like Tucker Carlson can freely debate public policies, including the policies of the military they pay for.

The volume of flak being put up by these Pentagon “perfumed princes” suggests that Tucker is over the target.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair in reply to CDR D. | March 12, 2021 at 7:56 pm

I remember many in the US military having a similar un-American hissy fit at Americans back during the whole “burning koran” issue, with the Pentagon coming out on the side of the poor, widdle muslims and their book of violent ideological supremacy (LOL). It was absolutely disgusting … but we had the America-hating Indonesian running things so it was what it was. Now we have same America-hating clowns running the show, again, so …

slightly off track, but how long have the national guard troops been in DC? are they rotating them out every 15 days, the reason I ask is because if the go over 30 they swap their NG id cards for active duty cards, and it should be a violation of the Posse comitatus law

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | March 12, 2021 at 7:53 pm

If the federal government ran a football team they would have it 50% women and would claim that it was just as good as any other team. Of course, that team would lose every single game .. until the federal government started arresting opposing teams and owners for having violated the civil rights of women they refused to put on their teams … But the most important physical team in the nation thinks that a woman who is 15% slower, 30% weaker, and susceptible to serious hormonal variations every friggin month is a prime candidate for the US Military combat team!

The idea of women in combat units is so unbelievably insane that words escape me. Not only because of the fact that women are inferior to men in every sport known to Man (save drag racing) and cannot compete with men in pretty much anything physical, but also because women are the bottleneck of population growth. Women are indispensable to a growing society and represent the limit on growth while men are almost unnecessary – meaning that a woman can only give birth to once a year (generally to a single child but on occasion to multiple births) while a guy can impregnate hundreds of women a year, if so inclined. Women are the bottleneck. Losing one woman has much, much more impact on the growth of society than losing one man. Only an incredibly stupid and self-destructive society allows its women to be on the front lines, if it has any choice at all in the matter.

guyjones in reply to sestamibi. | March 13, 2021 at 9:59 am

My thoughts, exactly. But, it’s now considered “cool” for high-ranking Dhimmi-crat politicians to curse, insult and vilify conservatives, critics and any American who dares to hold dissenting views and opinions. This is how pervasive the Dhimmi-crats’ moral rot and blatan incivility have become.

Potty-mouthed Tammy Duckworth’s use of the “F-word” expletive to curse Tucker Carlson is emblematic of contemporary Dhimmi-crats’ utter incivility, childishness and obnoxiousness. This is why discourse is becoming impossible, in this country — because of the Dhimmi-crats’ immaturity, vindictiveness and vilification of all Americans who possess the temerity to reject Dhimmi-crat orthodoxies and policy goals.

This is how a sitting U.S. Senator responds to someone whose views she disagrees with? Duckworth apparently believes that her foul mouth allegedly makes her look “woke” and “cool. It only makes her look manifestly childish, unprofessional, vindictive and foolish.

Ok updates for female hair styles and uniforms /body armor that is more form fitting for a female body is long overdue. No problems from me on that.

The elephants in the room which remain unaddressed are:
1. Ability to deploy to a combat or operational assignment
2. Effects on unit performance of mixed gender units
3. Placing males in combat assignments means females in garrison or TRADOC assignments.

That all equals a disproportionate impact upon male service members who can deploy to fill assignments where a female cannot, formerly by statute at BN level and lower, or will not by ‘timing’ a pregnancy to coincide with a deployment.

Additionally the metrics used for promotions were skewed to prefer assignments as an instructor or recruit or or drill SGT. In a peacetime scenario maybe justified. In a wartime situation with back to back to back combat deployment not so much.

Consider Joe is a young Staff SGT as is Jane. However, Joe deploys to Iraq or Afghanistan two out of three consecutive years. Jane serves as an instructor for two years then transfers to become a Drill SGT in year three.

The promotion board will select Jane over Joe every time. On paper it is even, somewhat, defensible. In reality though the effect is to denigrate combat service behind that of ‘garrison’ assignments.

Troops see it and leaders have zero explanation that is believable.

All that said, there are some amazingly good females in our military who refuse to play the ‘games’ other females choose to use to their advantage.

Also, how about the Dhimmi-crats’ totally contradictory and hypocritical thinking — out of one side of their mouth, via their tiresome “trans” fetish/totalitarianism, they sanctimoniously claim that the definition of a “woman” includes any man who proclaims himself as such. Out of the other side of their mouth, the Dhimmi-crats still play the tired, old feminist/women’s rights card, when it’s convenient.

Yet, these two positions are in total contradiction, because the entire “trans” agenda undermines women’s rights at every turn, in increasingly more brazen and ludicrous ways. And, if gender is merely a matter of self-identification, what are the Dhimmi-crats getting so worked-up about? Isn’t “gender fluidity” supposed to erase all these distinctions that the Dhimmi-crats selectively adhere to?
