DeSantis: Florida Will Exclude Critical Race Theory From Its Curriculum

“Let me be clear, there’s no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory, teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”

Florida Gov. Ron. DeSantis announced the Florida curriculum will not include critical race theory.

DeSantis said: “Florida’s civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories. Let me be clear, there’s no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory, teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”

So far, he’s got my vote for 2024.

Yeah, he’s been on a roll, and hitting all the right marks, on multiple fronts.

No one else is close so far. As a governor he is doing, not talking.

Florida is a magnet for the nation right now. Democrat governors in blue states must hate having to compete with him …

Nah. Democrat sappers are continually undermining DeSantis every day. My mom in Tampa is absolutely convinced DeSantis is routing all the Holy Jab to “Republican neighborhoods around the country clubs” and leaving neighborhoods like hers unvaccinated. I don’t have the heart to tell her that she’s probably the only Democrat in her entire community development.

Every day I thank God I can live in Florida.

Good for him. Less diversity dogma, more history, more individual dignity, more individual conscience, and more harmony on a present and forward-looking basis.

Which other states are going to step up, kill CRT, and projection of black racism?

He’s the best Governor in the country hands down

Other governors must now step up immediately!

Somebody gets it.

This garbage is toxic. It is hate and racial resentment and class envy writ large. Nobody should be teaching it or allowing it to be taught, other than as an example of how vile and destructive some fake academic theories can be.

Good for DeSantis, and good for Florida!

I hope this edict is not just for K -12 but also includes the State University system

This reminds me of the 1960s in California. The students took over the college campuses and were fawned over by the liberal media. A former movie actor, Ronald Reagan, dared to speak out against it and we found that the silent majority agreed with him.

He’s certainly saying the right things, but there’s no way he can actually stop the spread of CRT given the practical impossibility of firing teachers who disobey him.
