Remember When Biden Promised $2,000, not $1,400, Stimulus Checks?

It’s weird how reality changes when the media’s favorite presidential candidate takes office.

The Democrats and media “forget” that the $600 checks were approved under President Donald Trump’s administration. They “forget” that President Joe Biden promised $2,000 checks on the campaign trail.

But since $1400 + $600 = $2000 the leftists are willing to “forget” that little detail.

He said:

The second, the American rescue plan is going to keep the commitment of the $2,000. $600 has already gone out, $1400 checks to people who need it. This is money directly into their pockets. We need to target that money so folks making $300,000 don’t get any windfall. Here’s what I won’t do. I’m not cutting the size of the checks. They’re going to get $1,400. period. That’s what the American people were promised.

No. YOU LIE.

Three weeks ago, three weeks ago, Biden said his stimulus plan included $2,000 checks.

He says: “We will finish the job of getting a total of $2000 in cash relief to people who need it the most. The $600 already appropriated is simply not enough.”

Three weeks ago President Joe Biden bashed the $600. Now he’s saying that he already considered it as part of his stimulus plan?

How about on January 4?

Biden said (emphasis mine):

By electing John and the Reverend, you can make an immediate difference in your own lives, the lives of people all across this country, because their election will put an end to the block in Washington of that $2,000 stimulus check, that money that will go out the door immediately to help people who are in real trouble. Think about [? what it ?] will mean, to your lives, putting food on the table, paying rent, paying your mortgage, paying down the credit card, paying the phone bill, the gas bill, the electric bill.—And the debate over $2,000 isn’t some abstract debate in Washington. It’s about real lives, your lives, the lives of good, hardworking Americans. And if you’re like millions of Americans all across this country, you need the money, you need the help, and you need it now. Look, Georgia, there’s no one in America with more power to make that happen than you, the citizens of Atlanta, the citizens of Georgia.[CHEERING]And that’s not an exaggeration. That is a literal– that’s literally true. If you send John and the Reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks will go out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor for so many people who are struggling right now. And if you send senators Perdue and Loeffler back to Washington, those checks will never get there. It’s just that simple. The power is literally in your hands.

Newsweek on December 30, 2020:

President-elect Joe Biden, who has promised to deliver more economic relief to Americans in the early days of his administration, has endorsed sending $2,000 stimulus checks to qualifying individuals and households. The president-elect said he supported $2,000 instead of $600 payments following a speech he gave Monday about the national security and foreign policy challenges his administration will face. As he walked off the stage, Biden was asked by a reporter if he supported the larger check amount and replied “yes.”
